Windows 7, Outlook email and iphone

Now that I have an iphone, my outlook will not send/receive email. I've called my cable company, they say the emial is fine. I send the test message, can't find my incoming, however the test message is sent to my iphone.
I NEED, really really NEED, to have my email in both places.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks

A lot of this depends on the type of email account that you are provided by your ISP. I'll assume that is what you are using since you mention the cable company. If you have a POP3 account, that is designed to be accessed by a single email client, either the phone, or Outlook on the computer. If the iPhone is set to delete the mail on the server, and you pick the mail up on the iPhone, it will not be able to be picked up by Outlook. That is the design of the account. However, if the account can be accessed as IMAP, then it is designed to be accessed by multiple clients and is kept in sync on all of them.
If it is POP3, you can set it up to be seen on both, but it can be a little difficult, especially if you have both clients set to pick up mail automatically at specific intervals. Find out what kind of account you have first.
On the other note, I'm not sure why you cannot send mail in Outlook, unless you have some settings wrong, and that you would have to take up with your provider. I've explained the receiving part.

  • Outlook email and iPhone 5 issues

I receive my outlook emails, but when I open/delete my email in Outlook, it doesn't sync to my iPhone 5. The setting is on push, but it's not syncing. Please help!

Is this Outlook account an Exchange account? Is it an IMAP account, or it is a POP account. Push does not matter if it is not an Exchange account, and it will only sync between the computer (Outlook) and the phone if it is an Exchange or IMAP account. POP mail will not sync with another email client.

  • Just want to sync Outlook calendar and Iphone without paying extra $$

I am currently using Mobile Me trial membership to sync my Outlook Calendar and Iphone calendar. Just that only -- I don't want to sync my Outlook e-mail or contacts with my phone. But I don't want to pay $99 for for Mobile Me after the free trial runs out in October.
Will I have to pay to sync?
I need to sync them a couple times a day, it has to be secure, and I don't want to do it manually with a wire.
    Any advice?

    Jon,
I could connect the cord and sync each night, but that's too difficult to remember.
That's how I did it for a year with the first iPhone. It wasn't that bad.
Still, over the air synching is pretty cool, especially if you update your calendar throughout the day and always want the latest information on the phone.

  • Yahoo email and iphone.

    Email and iPhone etc.
We faced "dead-end-situation" on the email specifically with the bellsouth.net and iphone, it stopped working totally.
After spending a day without email and 3 to 4 futile, calls with the first level tech support, resetting network and restoring the email accoiunt etc. Finally I had a chance to discuss with real technician and he resolved the problem in minutes.
Symptoms were I was not able to configure the bellsouth.com account using yahoo, it woud fail for incorrect userid/password.
Basically trry the userid and pass from desktop/laptop and login to your account through the yahoo.com and confirm everything is as it shoud be, if not go to second step.
Reset the network setting, I am not sure if that is required (one can execute if the first alternative does not work).
I did remove the account from iphone ane set it up again, one can do this if none of two steps work and follow first step again.
Be careful about the settings for contacts etc. while setting up the account. Better take backup before working setting the account again.
Thanks to the apple support Charles Herrin ( apple support ), who helped me through the ordeal.

I can tell you what this issue is - I had it all day yesterday and tried every type of configuration (including all those tagged as 'working').
I snooped the traffic to yahoo and their server wasrefusing to authenticate the account.
I believe there must be some daily limit to authentication.
Frustrated, I left my Iphone over night.
In the morning, the same account was still in use on the device (standard Settings > add account > yahoo mail).
I snooped the traffic again and I was getting 'success' back.
I'm afraid this is simply a 'yahoo' issue and waiting overnight fixed it for me.

  • I am using the Good for Enterprise app to synch my outlook email and when I try to turn on ICloud to synch my music in ITunes I get a warning that I will not be able to synch my Iphone 4S with my computer.  Does this mean my office PC or home Mac?

I am using Good For Enterprise on my Iphone 4s to connect with my Office PC Outlook email system.  I am having trouble synching my Itunes music from my Mac at home with my IPhone 4s.  I am considering using ICloud to share the music as I also have an IPad2.  When I go to turn on the ICloud application, I get a message that alerts me to the fact I will no longer be able to synch with my computer.  Does that mean with my Office PC and my Outlook email, or my Mac and my home email and other applications?  I want to use the ICloud but don't want to screw up my Good for Enterprise application and connectivity with my Office PC and Outlook email.  What should I do to be able to update all my tunes and photos on my IPhone 4S and IPad2 from my Mac?

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

  • My iCloud for windows is syncing email and notes with my MS Outlook 2013 on windows 8 but NOT contacts and calendar

Dear, I have downloaded and installed iCloud for windows and see that a user has been auto setup in my MS Outlookvia imap. I can now sync email and notes.I cannot sync icloud contacts and calendar with my MS Outlook, can you help me with this?

iCloud hosts the calendars on its server and your various computers read them from there. The protocol for doing this is called CalDAV.
Outlook for Mac has not been equipped with the programming for CalDAV and therefore cannot access iCloud calendars. Outlook for Windows evidently has and can.
This is something only Microsoft can rectify and you could send them feedback suggesting they do this with all convenient speed.
Outlook on a Mac can only access calendars living under 'On My Mac' and these cannot sync with iCloud. iCal can sync with iCloud provided you have 1-.7.2 or higher.

  • Sync calendar and contacts between Outlook 2013 and iPhone 4

I am trying to sync my calendars and contacts between Outlook 2013 (Office 365 Home Premium) and my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.4).  I have created a confusing mess for myself and do not recognize all of the calendars that appear in Outlook or the iPhone.  I
abandoned the use of the iCloud because the iCloud calendar invitations my coworkers received in MS Outlook are too confusing to read.
Is there a proven process for syncing when i add a new contact or calendar event in one device so that it shows up simultaneously in the other?  If the process is too laborious, is there an Outlook add-on?
I have tried the Exchange ActiveSync but I can't get this to work smoothly.  I can't move recurring calendar events that started in the past.  Further, I have to navigate 2 separate data files in outlook to find the right calendar or inbox.
I am not sure if Exchange and Exchange ActiveSync are the same or not.
Additionally, this is a private domain address (my work email).

    Hi,
Basically, Exchange ActiveSync and Exchange are two different sets of protocols, but both of them have the feature to sync contacts and calendars between different devices.
If your company provides an Exchange account for you, just setup it in Outlook Client, it will sync the contacts and calendars between clients and the Server.
If you have an Outlook.com(Hotmail) or any other email account that supports Exchange Activesync, just set it up in Outlook, the contacts and calendars will also sync.
As for iPhone, just make sure it also uses the same protocol.
If there's anything wrong with the account sync on PC, rename the current data file to ".old", let Outlook create a new one to sync, or we can create a new profile to setup the account:

  • Want my work outlook email on iphone

I am going crazy trying to figure out how to get my work email from outlook to show up on my iPhone without having to go through webmail. My IT guy has told me that it can't be done without some expensive pc. of equipment (something they do have for the Blackberry), but if I was able to figure out how to get my calendar items pushed from outlook to ical from gmail, shouldn't there be something similar out there to allow me to get my outlook email, too?

    Add account...Exchange
Enter you logon details and in the server url section, put in the first section of the url that you log on to webmail with i.e webmail.company.com
The domain is the line that you normally can't see, when you log onto your PC in the morning...click on the details link on your logon page to see it or ask IT
Password and username is your webmail logon p/w and username.
The iPhone will ask if you want to try and connect without security...say yes.
If it asks if you want to keep contacts on your phone, say "keep on phone".
That will give you Contacts, E-mail and Calendar all on your phone. You can turn each one on or off as you please and you can stop using the Google calendar if you want to, becasue you'll be dealing directly with the Exchange Server using Outlook Web Access.
CAlendar and e-mail will take a few minutes to update.
Push can be turned on in the accounts section on the phone as normal
    Ta da!

  • Outlook 2007 and iPhone 3GS contact sorting

I have done a search and found lots of good information on this topic, yet have not been able to find out if what I am wanting is possible. Probably my misunderstanding of some of the terminology, so I thought I would start my own thread.
I have Outlook 2007 on my Windows XP notebook and use it to sync my iPhone 3GS through iTunes 9.0. There are 425 contacts, both business and personal, on my phone and in Outlook and everything works beautifully. Yesterday I was asked for the name of a rep for a certain product we sell and I could not remember his name and really did not want to search through all my contacts to find his information. What I would like to do is to be able to seperate, or group, certain contacts within my Outlook and iPhone. For instance I would have "all contacts" and then maybe under that "factory reps", "bank reps" and so on. Is there a way for this to be done that does not put duplicate contacts on my phone and lets me have all my contacts listed, yet be able to go back and sort through them based on groups as well?
Thank you for any help regarding this and I apologize if this topic has been covered, once again I think I may be seeing the answer, just not understanding the terminology or setup.

    san someone help me? thanks

  • Outlook, iPad and iPhone Calendar

    Hi guys!
My iPad and iPhone are both synced with my Outlook calendar, so I may keep an eye on all my apointments. However, whenever I have a reminder in Outlook, the Outlook, iPhone and iPad alarms all go on at the same time.
This can be quite cumbersome, deactivating it device by device, Is there a way to deactivate the calendars alarms on the iPad alone, and leave it on iPhone?

I am not talking about the notification alerts from the notification center. I am talking about calndar events with a reminder/alarm that are set in Outlook, and synced with both the iPad and iPhone.
The calendar's alarm iteself will go on, regardless of the notification seetings of the notification center.

  • Outlook email and my sprint centro

I have just recently started using outlook to view my email, and my centro no longer receives email with sprint mobile email. I figured out how to sync outlook through the conduit, but still have no calendar. Now I cannot get my older,or newer, email to come through on my phone. Having access to emails on the go is one of the main functions I use on the palm for my job. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Your Centro should have come with VersaMail, a program that can sync directly with your Exchange Server. Actually, I'm not sure your account is on an Exchange Server. If it is, VersaMail will sync Mail/Contacts/Calendar.

  • Getting outlook email on iphone

can anyone help me load ms outlook work email on iphone 4s?
    thanks

    Hey Bonesaw,
Thanks for the response.  It's a mixture of different things -- for example, my email syncs (over the air) but not my calendar.  Others are experiencing no syncing at all.

  • Problems getting Outlook email and calendar items to synch on iPhone 4S's.  Suggestions?

Many people in my office are having this problem...with a variety of different Windows versions and a variety of different generations of Outlook.  (Our office is gradually upgrading.)
Ideas?  I've studied the threads out there and none seemed to help.
    Thanks very much.

  • Outlook Calender and iphone sync not working properly (windows 7 os)

I try to sync through itunes and contacts work fine, but the calender only comes through partially. Single events work fine, but events (on outlook) which extend more than a day are completely ignored by itunes sync and don't show up on the iphone calender.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Alright... I think I have worked this out.
Clearing history alone was not enough. I had to clear the history THEN reboot the phone.  My events seem to be coming though now. Interesting though... on events coming from iphone to outlook the right click mouse menu is disabled. If I want to delete, edit or alter that event in outlook I have to left click and actually open it.
