Windows 7 Prof / X300 embedded webcam not working

Hi community,
I am running Windows 7 on my Thinkpad X300 since Microsoft released Windows 7 Beta. At the beginning, there was quite some trouble with many drivers, but the embedded webcam driver was working well though. When upgrading to Windows 7 RC, a couple of updates have been released in the meantime, so more IBM/Lenovo software was working well.
Right now, I am running Windows 7 Professional, downloaded all recent driver updates and reinstalled them. Everything is working fine now - except the power management and the embedded webcam. The former is not important for me right now, but the latter one even more. Unfortunately, it is not working at all. It is regularly mentioned in the section "imaging devices" of the device manager without any error. I was using the driver "7tca21ww.exe" for the webcam.
However, when trying to use Skype, there is only a blank screen in the webcam preview window. In another thread, http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-RTM-Discussion/Windows-7-Webcam-driver/m-p/155292, there was a tool mentioned called AMCap, but it is also not working though (terminates evoking the error message "Unable to render the video preview stream - the parameter is incorrect. [0x80070057 / 11878]. Also in another thread, this driver http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-66973.html was noticed to be working. Unfortunately, this not working neither.
Any advice on this issue is very much appreciated.

Lenovo is releasing official Windows 7 updates on a daily basis. I think you'll find the correct driver at this link. Obviously if it fails to work I can only speculate. Good luck.

I understand the webcam in your ENVY dv4 notebook is not working.
Can you tell me if the webcam worked previously, has never worked, or stopped working after updating to Windows 8 (if the notebook did not come with Windows 8 pre-installed).

Some of the steps may not apply if the webcam is not detected in Device Manager. You may need to show the hidden devices by clicking View > Show hidden devices. You might find the webcam is listed as an Unknown device in the Other devices category.

Windows 10 upgrade Thinkpad T410 Webcam Not Working After

I upgraded the factory Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Pro. During upgrade, everything went well. When setting up Skype, I found out that the integrated webcam does no longer work. Anybody had the same problem? Any solution|driver for Windows 10?

So here is how I solved the integrated camera being not recognized/detected by Windows 10.
- I went Into Device Manager, uninstalled the unrecognized USB device.
- Shut down the laptop. Removed the battery.
- Pry out the plastic frame surrounding the screen to uncover the camera.
- Remove the two screws retaining the camera and unplug it.
- put back the battery and wait for Windows to load and log in as usual.
- wait for all drivers and programs to load normally.
- plug the camera back in.
- you'll normally hear Windows detecting a new device and will automatically install it. Check your device manager for an imaging device. You should see an imaging device in the list.
- to test if it's working properly, you can use Skype and see if it detects the camera in the video settings.

HP Pavilion G6-1113eo webcam not working

I have a HP Pavilion G6-1113eo with Windows 7 and the integrated webcam stopped working just a few weeks after I bought it. I have several times tried reinstalling and updating the driver program (cyberlink youcam) but nothing seems to help. What should I do? Cyberlink can't find the webcam at all. The Youcam program is not so important to me, if it is easier to get the camera working without it.
So what to do? I wouldn't like to do a recovery of Windows as I feel it could happen again at any time.

Sounds like the hardware has failed.
If your warranty was still valid it should be replaced.
If not, if you don't fancy replacing it yourself (eBay), just buy a USB webcam is probably the handiest.

Of course im using an integrated webcam. and it is turned on, enabled an all. I've Updated my webcam, download other versions of the driver, unistalled, installed back, used recovery system, looked for others drivers for the hp pavilion dv6 2150 us. But it keeps doing the same. One moment is alright, at other moment it lost the device ...
What can i do? it is really anoying and not useful at all if when i need to use the webcam it is not detected.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.
Guess I miss it frist time... hope this helps...

It might be the graphic driver not compitable with the graphic device. Has there been a change to the graphic driver?
One thing you can try is to uninstall graphic driver and download the latest from Windows Update (if you haven't tried this). Here are the possible steps:
1. Go to Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Device Manager, uninstall the graphic card driver by right clicking and select "uninstall". Make sure the option "Delete the driver software for this device" is selected.
2. Reboot the system.
3. Go to Control Panel->System and Security->Windows Update, click on "Optional updates" and find the driver for g210 and do the update.

I have a couple of suggestions that may help with this issue. My first suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard.
Follow these steps to do that:
Click the "Start Menu"
Type "Device" in the search box under all programs
Select "Device Manager"
Click "Keyboards"
Remove all devices under keyboards by right clicking and selecting" uninstall" on each device
Restart the computer
How long has the button not been working?
Are there any other keys not working or producing the wrong character?

Webcam not working

Hello, not surewhere to post this but i have the hp g42 475dx and i recently reset it. Everything else works fine but the built in webcam will not, im more than likely missing a driver, and it doesnt pop up in device manager. Hp wants me to pay them 60$ to fix it so im hoping someone else can help! please help! thanks.

You can't activate any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone.
So, yes, you need to get a sim card.

Swiping left to right or right to left should work if you're in the right place.
For example, try it in Music > Songs (button in lower right).
