Windows 7 Professional with SP1 - Unbootable

From the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), I downloaded
Windows 7 Professional with SP1
SW_DVD5_Win_Pro_7w_SP1_32BIT_English_-2_MLF_X17-59276.ISO
From Windows 7 Pro, I burnt a DVD from the ISO using the Windows Disc Image Burner.
I am unable to boot into the target laptop from this disc. However, I am able to boot into other bootable DVDs.
Is there something wrong with the ISO so it does not produce a bootable disc using Windows Disc Image Burner.

Thanks in advance.

Either download has not completed correctly or burning process was not correct.
1. Try to download ISO and check the downloaded file. Do analysis with SHA1 or MD5.
2. I use CD Burner XP http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home ans have never had any problem.

  • Lightroom 5 + Windows 7 with SP1

    Hi
I originally posted this elsewhere and was referred to this forum. This is not a deliberate attempt to cross post!
How essential to the running of Lightroom 5 is SP1 under Windows 7? I cannot install SP1 as it appears many others cannot. As Windows is my secondary OS I am reluctant to do a reinstall. What am I saying? I am not going to do a reinstall!
The trial version of LR5 seems to function happily so far although I concede that I may have yet to encounter issues caused by the lack of SP1.
The trial seems very good to me and offers easier ways of working through my workflow than my current software. Being on a pension, I would like to know the implications of not having SP1 before deciding whether to invest in this package.
    Thanks.
    Bob

    dj_paige,
Thanks. I was aware of that but only after installing the trial version and running without any apparent issue. I wondered if there were specific known issues or whether Adobe were 'hedging their bets!

  • Boot Camp, VIsta with SP1 x64 clean installed. Please help!

I clean-installed Vista Ultimate 64bit with SP1 (SP1 comes with Vista, not a separate download) on the latest macbook. As expected Boot Camp Application doesn't work (it doesn't even install).
1.I want to use the function keys (F1, F2, etc) for brightness and volume, which installation program should I run from the Leopard disk? I don't think I can find this "driver" online.
2.How can I get bluetooth on my macbook working? Which installation program should I run from the Leopard disk?
3.iSight camera. Is there a driver for iSight camera in 64bit Vista?
I see there's a "x64" folder in Leopard disk, under folder "drivers". Should I install everything in this folder? I haven't tried yet.
    Thanks for help!

    Hi Bjorne,
how did you manage to do a clean-install of Windows Vista with SP1 from a slipstreamed media? If I start my Macbook with the Vista SP1 DVD while holding down the "C" key, I will only see the following message:
    1.
    2.
    Select CD-ROM Boot Type:
I can't go on any further, because hitting any key won't work.
The problem seems to the EFI bootloader on the Vista SP1 DVD which is compiled for 64-bit EFI environments (U-EFI 2.0)! The EFI environment used in Apple computers is based on version 1.10 and runs in 32-bit mode. I've found this information on the rEFIt homepage http://refit.sourceforge.net/info/vista.html and I've also found the homepage http://www.jowie.com/post/2008/02/Select-CD-ROM-Boot-Type--prompt-while-trying-t o-boot-from-Vista-x64-DVD-burnt-from-iso-file.aspx from Jowie who has the same problems. He has found out how to make the Vista SP1 DVD booting on an Apple computer by modifying the DVD image which seems to kill the EFI bootloader...
How did you manage to boot from an unmodified Vista SP1 DVD image?

  • SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with SP1 on Windows Server 2012??????? What am I missing?

    Hi there,
As per MS - SharePoint 2013 Enterprise SP1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2.
I have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed - now it does not let me install SharePoint 2013 Enterprise (Standard without SP1).
AND SP1 can ONLY be installed AFTER SharePoint 2013 Enterprise is installed.
So how to install SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with SP1 on Windows Server 2012?
    Thanks.

You can download it at the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center:
    https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx
or at the Microsoft Developer Network:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/
Please note that if you do not have access to either, you will have to work with the vendor who sold you SharePoint 2013 to get you a new ISO with SP1, or you will have to find a way to make a slipstreamed version on your own.  I'm really hoping you
have VLSC or MSDN access, as this will make things much easier for you.

  • SharePoint 2013 with sp1 install on windows server 2012 R2

    Hi All:
excuse me I have a question about sharepoint installation. I install sharepoint 2013 with sp1 on windows server 2012 R2,but i always got "Configuring Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role"
message. I refer to this article <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260>. I still got this message ... Which I did wrong step ?? I have been troubled for a long time, thanks to the help ...

    Hi  TiM,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you installed the prerequisites for SharePoint 2013 SP1 on Windows 2012 R2.
Please make sure that you have installed .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows Server 2012 R2, and enable .NET Framework 3.5 by using the Add Roles and Features Wizard.

  • How to install itune under Windows XP 64-bit professional with SP2?

I have iPhone 3GS for over a year and I have set it up at my work computer (Windows XP professional) with latest iTune and it work great. Recently our IT has upgraded our system and all of our new machines has Windows XP 64-bit OS.
I can't figure out how to install iTune under Windows XP 64-bit, to synch with my e-mail, contact and calendars any more?
    Can any one help?

New machines? With XP 64-bit? Your IT department is being rather foolish, in my opinion, deploying new installations of XP 64 since Microsoft discontinued mainstream support for it (more than two years ago) and it's never really been satisfactory.
Anyway, there is no version of iTunes that supports the 64-bit version of Windows XP and almost certainly never will be. If you search the iTunes for Windows forums for "XP 64" you'll find threads describing the process some people have used to "crowbar" iTunes onto XP 64, with varying levels of success, none of them complete. Connecting to iPhones is one of the most problematic issues.
    Regards.

How can I recognized an iPhone 3GS on iTunes 11.0.4.4 version on PC Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3?

Plug the device into the computer and iTunes will detect it.  If that is not working, then stating as such would be a good start.

  • Upgrading to Windows 10 with a computer that refuses to install Windows 7 SP1

I'd like to be able to upgrade my old W7 laptop with W10, however, I am unable to do so, due to the fact that after replacing the hard drive, then allowing a "techy" friend handle the OS install, I am unable to install SP1 which is required for the free upgrade. Any help? Other information: The Laptop originally came with "Windows 7 Home Prem OA" however is now running "Windows 7 Unlimate" and I have no recovery disks for the original W7 that came with the machine.EDIT: Also, when I run either Windows Update, or SP1 as a separate file, I get the same error. Here is an image of the error from the SP1 file.

Unfortunately it looks like your techie friend installed an upgraded version of Windows 7 and now it's not genuine so it won't update.  You can try the suggestions in this TechNet post and see if you can resolve it. I used your error message to find this info.  If you're not successful with that, then you should contact HP about getting reinstall disks so you can install the OEM version of Windows 7. You'll have to do all the updates but it should be able to do it.  Unless you have an email or retail packaging with an upgraded version of Windows and a key, you will run into these types of issues. Your OS version must match the key that you have.  HTH

  • Recovering Windows 7 with advanced format drive failes without SP1

I have a dv6-2150us and the hard drive failed.  I acquired a new drive and ran recovery disks.  Unfortunately many features do not work correctly on an advanced format drive in Windows 7 without SP1.  The key feature is Windows update does not work which prevents me from upgrading to SP1.  I tried many fixes to Windows update and downloaded SP1 from Microsoft's site, but they all fail to install because update fails to run.
Any advice?  I tried to install a fresh ISO of Windows 7 SP1 which works fine, but I would rather not pay for an OS I already own.  My Windows license key doesn't work with the Windows 7 SP1 install.
    This question was solved.

    dv6guy,
Did the HP Recovery Discs actually fail to install??? Does the recovered install fail to boot completely or correctly. Or does the recovered install not only have isues with Windows update and/or other software???
If the recovery completes and you can enter Windows please try to use ABR Beta With Windows 7 Support to backup the installed HP OEM SLP key and HP OEM SLP certificate. Once you have these, save the complete ABR folder to an external location, like a USB stick. Next, install Windows 7 SP1 from your fresh ISO. Do not enter a product key when requested and do not allow Windows to try to activate the computer. Now, restore the key and certificate to your fresh Windows 7 SP1 install. Verify that Windows is activated. Post back and let us know if this succeeded or failed

  • Visual Studio 2005 with SP1 for Windows 7 - 64 bit

    Hi,
I am trying to install Visual Studio 2005 on a 64-bit platform (Windows 7). The version in about section reads Version 8.0.50727.42
     (RTM.050727-4200)
I need to install the Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 but the installer available is for 32 bit (VS80sp1-KB932232-X86-ENU.exe)
This does not install on 64 bit system.
How do I get Visual Studio 2005 with SP1 installed ?
P.S- On the network I work on, I can see a Windows 2008 (64 bit) system with the version of Visual Studio 2005 that reads  Version
8.0.50727.762  (SP.050727-7600) but I dont know how that was installed. Any help would be
    appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Wilson

    Hello WillisB,
I think your concern is the name X86 here. Actually Visual Studio is x86 version and we do not have a x64 version Visual Studio. So if you install Visual Studio on X64 version, it is also available. And when you see this page
http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=7524 You can see the system requirements:
    Supported Operating System
Windows 7; Windows Server 2008; Windows Server 2008 R2; Windows Vista
    Processor/RAM:
    Vista hardware requirements.
Required Software:  licensed copy of a Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1.
So please don't mind the name x86, the update can still be installed on Win 7 x64.
By the way, to install Visual Studio 2005 on Win 7, please check YiChun's post on this thread:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/f75d8ff2-bed4-473b-bc9c-6faf78c5d83a/installing-visual-studio-2005-pro-on-windows-7-pro-64bit?forum=vssetup
"To apply Visual Studio 2005 on Windows 7, please check the following points step by step:
    - Download Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and install it
Visual Studio® 2005 Express Editions Service Pack 1
Visual Studio® 2005 Service Pack 1 for Standard or above edition
    - Download
Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 Update for Windows Vista and install it
    - When launch Visual Studio 2005, please run it with administrator privileges
(Right-click the icon >> "Run as Administrator")"
By the way, Visual Studio 2005 is out of our mainstream support, what about change to use some new version of VS? For example, Visual Studio 2013 Community version.

Driver problems with Windows Professional XP 64bit Edition

Well, after looking around the forum here I found an answer that works! I wish I could remember who to give credit too though. I installed the latest Vista drivers and I got static all the time. I tried another members suggestion of disabling the X-Fi device in the Device manager every time I log off and then enable the X-Fi the next time I log in. I have great sound as long as I do that. Also, for connecting to a home system I am using the DTS-60, $00 on this website, but it works well if you havea DTS decoder. I am using the X-Fi extreme Music edition. Good Luck, hopefully another driver is on the way.

  • Installing Windows 7 With Boot Camp on Mac Pro 3.1 w/GTX285 Video card

I have an Early 2008 Mac Pro 3.1 running the latest version of OS 10.6 with all updates.  I have an nVidia GTX285 card installed in the Mac Pro that has been working fine for at least six months under OS 10.6 with Mac drivers downloaded from the nVidia web site and installed under OS 10.6.  I replaced the ATi 2600XT video card with the nVidia GTX285 in order to have CUDA support in Premier Pro CS 5 and it works beautifully.
I now wish to install Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on this Mac Pro.  I have never had any version of Windows installed on this Mac Pro.  I am using Boot Camp assistant and a new full version of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
My question is do I need to remove the GTX 285 graphics card and replace it with my AT 2600XT before installing Windows 7?  This would be a real pain to do because the two connectors to the motherboard are hard to get to.  However, since Apple never used the GTX285 in any of its computers, I am worried that I will not have any video display when I go to try and install Windows 7 with Boot Cam assistant.
Please advise me whether removing the graphics card is necessary before installing Windows 7 with Boot Camp.
Thank you in advance for responding.
    Tom

NO.... he has a workstation, and not MBP, nor are "drivers already loaded."
    How I would proceed -
Install Windows on its own drive.
    Pull all the other drives.
Boot from Windows 7 Pro DVD
Forget Boot Camp Assistant, it doesn't do anything - unless you really want to install Windows on the SAME drive as Mac OS - not ideal and not what most of Mac Pro owners do.
Just insert your OS X DVD once Windows is up to date - helps to buy the SP1 OEM version $129.
Run Apple SETUP.exe (Boot Camp 3.0.x drivers) and update with ASU or manually to 3.2.
No you don't need to go back and use that ATI. And you dont' want to be in the situation of changing from ATI to Nvidia and all the hassle that adds. you are fine.
The Mac Pro is as close as anything to a standard Wintel workstation.
Add MS Security Essentials or KIS or whatever you favor. KIS2011 or NIS2011 are good, MSSE 2.0 is free and based on their enterprise product.
