  • Dreamspark Windows 8.1 Pro x86 and x64 Product Key Issue

    Hello people,
I am having trouble with DreamSpark. I have an account from DreamSpark and want to use windows 8.1 pro x64 in my laptop. The problem is that dreamspark gives me only one product key for both x64 and x86 versions of windows 8.1 pro but when I try to install
x64, it asks me to validate x64 via that product key. After typing the key, it gives me an error saying sth "could not validate". However, in the x86 version, it is able to validate. It is annoying because it says  "Microsoft
Windows 8.1 Professional 32/64-bit (English) - DreamSpark - Download" in the title. Does not it mean that the product key below in the page is for both x86 and x64? :S

    Hi,
I agree with Yannick, both x64 and x86 should work fine, but only one is installed at a time,
for example,  before you install the 64bit version, you will need to uninstall the 32bit version, even if it is on another computer.
    You can also run

  • Window 7 x64 or x86?

    Hello,
    I have a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2009...
I know I will have problem with sound and the iSight webcam, but I was wondering if it is better to install the 64 bits or the 32 bits version of Windows 7.
With Vista it was a no brainer since most of the drivers for the most common peripherals where available only in 32bits.
What is the most trouble free option for Windows 7? x64 or x86?
    Cheers
    Luca

I assume anyone reading, realized I meant "go from x86 32-bit to 64-bit" but I didn't catch it at the time!
Apple support for Windows could be improved and much better - a lot better. BootCamp drivers cause problems, need to be updated and current, and the warning message from Microsoft, you can say "okay but install anyway" and sometimes you just need to navigate the DVD (or copy to hard drive) and find the BootCamp64 part yourself - that is all, you could have stayed with Windows 7 x64.

  • Windows 7 x64, Outlook 2010 and iCloud configuration - error "Outlook configuration problem"

    I'm running Windows 7 x64
I had iCloud 1.x working with Outlook 2007 x32.  A few months back I upgraded to Office 2010 x64, which (of course) broke the iCloud integration.  I've waited for the "fix", and have now tried to get it working again with iCloud 2.11.   I've tried repairing, I've uninstalled/reinstalled iCloud, I've set different default profiles, I've changed mail accounts...nada.
No matter what I do, when I get to the point of opening up the iCloud configuration and try to set up Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.  I immediately get the following error:
    "Outlook configuration problem.
Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.  Check your Outlook settings and try again."
    Any suggestions?

  • Windows Professional x64 Support for Audigy 2 ZS Video Edi

Is there some reason why the Video Editor isn't x64 compatible yet?

For Video Blaster Editor ... we are currently taking steps to insure it runs under 32-bit Vista.
Regarding Vista and Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor ... here are some tips from another user. [I am going to answer every query on this thread with these instructions ... so you'll be sure to see them quite a bit]:
I have used the follwoing procedure to install a working configuration of the Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor in a clean install of Vista Ultimate.
() Download from Creative Labs (US) site: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ the following files:
    (a) Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver .00.0060 - USBVS_PCDRV_LB__00_0060.exe (from the Vista section)
    (b) VidCap for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor .00.000 - A2VX_PCVDE_L9__00_000.exe (from the WinXP section)
    (2) Use WinZip or WinRAR to open the file (b) and extract the folders \DrvInst and \Vidcap into your Vista Downloads folder.
    (3) Connect the Video Editor to the power supply and a video source; connect the USB cable to your PC. Ignore the "Found NEw Hardware" dialog that pops up.
    (4) Doubleclick on file (a) to install the Creative Sound Blaster USB Series Windows Vista Driver, and follow prompts as required; accept all defaults. After install is complete, let the PC reboot.
    (5) After rebooting, in the "Found New Hardware" dialog that appears, select the options to search for a driver, don't go online to search, browse for a driver and point the search at the \DrvInst folder you extracted in (2) above. The USB video driver will be installed from the \DrvInst\Video\Driver\Win2k.
    (6) After the video driver is installed, doubleclick on the Setup.exe file in the \Vidcap folder you extracted in (2) above to install the Vidcap application.
    (7) Setup the options in Vidcap, and run a test recording.
    Happy capturing under Vista.

  • Empty error dialog when trying to sync (Windows 7 x64 + itunes 9 and 10)

This post:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11692653 describes my problem, but their solution did not work for me (setting Outlook as defauylt and use iTunes 9.2.0.61).
Basically what happens is that every 10 minutes or so, an error box (empty) will pop up - I have auto sync enabled. Switching to manual will stop it of course, but when I manually sync the error occurs. What is strange is that as far as I can tell, my data IS syncing to Mobile Me. It's like the error ocurs regardless.
Any other ideas on how to fix this?
    Details: Windows 7 64bit, iTunes 10 (tried 9.2.0.61), 8 GB RAM, 1TB HDD RAID 0, 2 drives 500GB each - Apple updates run weekly.

I was finally able to make it work. I'm so happy.
For some reason, perhaps it was pure desperation or maybe I had read it somewhere on the internet, I decided to set Outlook as my default mail application. Unbelievably, this made it work - the empty error boxes are gone and synchronization works like a charm.
So, when Outlook asks if it should be default mailer, answer yes. You can also configure this in Outlook or in the Windows 7 start menu -> Default Programs -> Set your default programs -> Outlook.
Just make sure that Outlook is default for everything it wants to be default to. My first attempt set it to "11 out of 13" and it wasn't until I selected to use it to "all file types and protocols that it can handle to default".
Anyway, I'm a happy user now and hopefully this can help others who are experiencing the same issues

  • Windows 7(x64) -- Acrobat Pro and Print to PDF Printer: Can I hide the Progress window?

BTW: The Progress bar doesn't close on its own when the print is done.
    Thank you in advance.

Which version. I think it is a minimum of AA9.2 that is needed for X64. Anyway, you should probably either open Acrobat and do the update (help menu) or download all of the updates from Adobe>downloads>updates and install them in order. The current version is AA9.3.4.

  • Windows 7 x64 and x32 Netlogon 5719 errors

Ok, let me first start off by saying that this only happens on Windows 7 (x64 or x86).  I do not have this problem with XP (x64 or x86).
I have several subnets for which I use the HP Procurve IP HELPER-ADDRESS.  This also happens if the DHCP server is a physical or virtual machine.  I was reading about the port fast option for RSTP (HP), though I can see if I need to use that if
it happens with XP and Windows 7.  I tried the following:
    Disabled IPv6
Tried a physical and virtual machine
Ran hotfix 2459530 for both x64 and x32
Tried the Broadcast registry fix instead of using unicast
Tried updating NIC drivers for both Intel and Broadcom
Changed the gateway for the DHCP options
Have GPO for "always wait for network before logon"
Have GPO for "Startup policy wait time (120 seconds)"
I still run into the issue that some Windows 7 machines will get the Netlogon 5719 errors on startup.  I don't know where to go to next about this issue??  I'm hoping SP2 will help with this issue.

Is this the only error message or do you have other connectivity
errors, too - like no valid IP-address from dhcp-server, or no dns-name
    resolution working?
If this is the only error you get and you are able to logon correctly
and access the domain controller it is only cosmetic and means, that
netlogon was already trying to access the resource before it was
available - but it did sucessfully connect later, when the resouce was
available. If you have other errors as well - please tell us those, too
    - to make troubleshooting easier.

    Hi all,
    I have a request.
I'm the owner of the Toshiba Qosmio G50 I bought it from running Vista ultimate x86 and it is the saver ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAS5mjocjc8 ).

    Hi
To be honest its really difficult to understand what you try to install or what software you need.
You said something about Toshiba Quad Core HD CPU.
Please note that not all G50 Qosmio notebooks support this feature.
So it would be very interesting to know what G50-xxx you have exactly
PS; Toshiba European driver page provides the Win 7 drivers for G50 as well.
In order to use the Toshiba Quad Core HD CPU you need to install the HD Processor Driver and HD Console as well.
The Toshiba HD Processor is a co-processor specialized for media streaming processes (real-time image processing such as image processing and image recognition) and the Toshiba HD Console displays the usage for each core in the Toshiba HD Processor and allows applications which use the HD Processor to be started

  • Slow Oracle Forms 10gR2 using  Sun's JRE on Windows 7 x64

    Hi,
We are running Application Server 10gR2 10.1.2.3 and we've been running Sun's JRE on Windows XP SP3 just fine. It is snappy and with the exception of a couple of minor issues, everything works well.
We are now testing a few new workstations running Windows 7 x64 (64bit) with Sun's JRE again and the performance is just horrible. It is almost unusable. We've tried both 32bit (x86) jre and x64 (64bit) no difference. We also tried Firefox (only comes in 32bit version) and the same problem.
Oddly the problem does not exist on Windows 7 x86 (32bit). Anyone have any ideas or suggestions to get it to behave?
    Thanks.
    George.

First, I think we need to clarify what is and is not certified for use with 10.1.2.3 so that other readers don't misunderstand what is being discussed.
Forms 10.1.2.3 has been certified to use Windows 7 x64 with IE8 and Sun JRE 1.6.0_16+ (32bit only). Refer to the new Forms 10.1.2 Client Statement of Direction which can be found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/clientsod-forms10gr2-088253.html
If you have previously bookmarked the SOD, please update your bookmark as this is a new location.
Second, without knowing at least some details about the app and even how the client machine is used, it will be difficult to offer any specifics. In general, I don't believe that we (Oracle) have had any specific complaints. However, we are currently investigating at least one performance complaint (it may be yours :) ), but so far details are limited so we don't have much to go on.
In order for anyone to understand a performance problem we must first understand exactly what is meant be terms like "degraded", "slow", etc. In the case of this thread, it has been claimed that it takes "2 seconds" to get from field to field. Is this an accurate measurement or an exaggerated guess? We also need to understand the app and the environment. For example:
    1. Besides the change in the JRE from one version to another, what else has changed? For example, are more users accessing the server, was the server or Application Server patched, have there been networking changes, has SSL been enabled where it previously was not, etc.
    2. Besides the Forms application, are any other java applications running on the client machine when this performance issue is experienced?
    3. Are there any fat applications running on the client machine? For example, some virus scanners tend to hog significant levels of resources and degrade performance from other apps. Email client software also tends to be fat and hog resources (I won't mention names here :) ). Disable or terminate fat apps and retest. What is the result?
    4. Does the Forms application execute client side java? For example, WebUtil, custom Beans, etc?
    5. Is the client machine configured to access mapped drives (either related or not related to the Forms app)?
    6. Has JRE tracing or logging been enabled? This setting can be found on the Java Control Panel (Advanced tab). If yes, disable it.
    7. Have you tested setting the JRE "..next-generation Java Plug-in" to OFF? This is also on the Advanced tab of the Java Control Panel under "Java Plug-in". Restart the browser will be necessary.
    8. On the server, are the application's modules (fmx, mmx, plx, etc) stored locally with the installation of Application Server or are then access via a net drive?

  • Spool server on Windows 2003 x64 ?

    Hi,
I'm installing SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64 with MaxDB.
Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 states "For a Microsoft Windows XP host, choose access method C. other Microsoft Windows operating systems are not suitable for local printing, as you cannot set up a spool server on them."
However, by default, there is a spool server defined in my installation of SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64.  But I see plenty of "Spool / print: Calling program reports invalid handle for TemSe object (magic==X'NULL-ptr')" errors in the system log when the background processes run every night.
Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 talks about a SAP spool server running on "the Microsoft Windows NT/Windows 2000 system", suggesting that Windows systems other than XP are supported for local printing.
Is that correct?  i.e. Has local printing support for Windows 2003 been removed in PI 7.1 ?
I'm surprised, and more than a little confused by this.  I'd appreciate any help/explanation.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Just a follow-up if anyone's interested...
I did try setting-up Access Method C in my NetWeaver 7.1 on Windows 2003 x64 with MaxDB and so far the local printing seems to be working OK. So, either:
    a) The Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 is wrong on this issue.
    b) The Printing Guide for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 is right, and this is an undocumented behavior that might break in the future.
    c) I just got lucky (and I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth).
Also, Access Method G works fine.

    Hi,
I have another problem with my MSI GE60.
I have installed Windows 7 x64, updated everything and installed driver.
At last I installed the USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver from the msi homepage. But now my usb ports aren't working anymore!
I tried different driver and deleted them in safe mode from windows.

I just posted a similar issue on the same machine, except my USB ports will only work under certain circumstances. It's very odd and it sounds like a driver issue... Did you ever get it sorted out?

?I used the latest version of daniel_k's most excellent drivers to install?my Audigy Pro 4 ?(with external box) on a Windows 7 X64 operating system and all the audio devices I have tested so far have worked great.
However, I can't seem to get the rm-500 remote working. I have installed the lasted (0/30) version of mediasouce5;? and the drivers for my remote do not seem to be included.
The closest I can come is the beta version of the vista entertainment center which does install a remote control settings configuator. However, it doesn't seem to recognice the Audigy Pro 4's version of the rm-500, even though it is listed as an option. I get a "can't find an ir device" error.
