Windows 7 Reinstall - USB Drivers

Hi there,
I have searched high and low on the internet for this, and have browsed through other HP forum solutions, but none fit my problem.
I recently had to reinstall my notebook, and used the Windows 7 (Home Premium) recovery discs I created when first getting the machine.
The windows installation has gone fine, and everything has gone fine, except, I constantly get the below message in the lower right hand corner of the screen:
USB Device Not Recognized.
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
Needless to say, that none of the USB ports work. When I click on the above message, I just see a screen to say the USB device is not recognised. If I go into Device manager and try to see any hardward definition of the unrecognized ports, I just see that it is a generic USB port. When trying to update the driver, I am told that the most suitable driver is already in place.
I am guessing that I need the drivers from HP for my specific configuration. If I go into system information and advanced (fn+Esc), I see that under components and problem devices, I have three 'unknown devices', and these (all have an error code of 43) are:
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&BE8B923&0&6
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&BE8B923&0&7
USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&BE8B923&0&8
If clicking the 'USB' node on within system information, I see that the controllers are:
Intel 5 Series/3400 USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3B34
Intel 5 Series/3400 USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3B3C
Is there anyone that can please assist me ?
thank you

I grasp that after doing a Windows 7 recovery your USB ports are not working.  You have tried updating drivers with Device Manager but received the message that the most suitable driver was already installed.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Here is a link to Setting up Your PC After a Recovery (Windows 7) that may assist you.
You can also run the HP Support Assistant to look for HP updates for your system.
You can manually check for updated drivers by going to the HP software and driver page for your notebook. You will need to input your exact model and follow the prompts to display the page.

  • Pavillion 15-e097sa - I need Windows 7 USB drivers

Hello. I recently bought a new Pavillion 15-e097sa. I have installed Windows 7 x64. Two of the USB ports are not working. I would very much like to get the drivers for them.   The hardware Ids is: ACPI\HPQ6007*HPQ6007  Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Giles

Hi, Giles: You need the following drivers for the USB and if you don't have the graphics driver, I'll give you that too. First install the amd chipset driver and reboot.  You want the first file listed on the webpage. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows 7 - 64 For the graphics, you install the AMD Mobility Catalyst Beta graphics driver from the link below. http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx Then for the USB 3.0, you download and install both of these drivers. http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5359417&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dob_123787_1%257CswEnvOID%253D4058%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5359417&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dob_118744_1%257CswEnvOID%253D4058%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

  • Pavilion dv9812us - Windows XP reinstall / nForce drivers won't install

I had a funky virus on my Pavilion so I decided I would format and reinstall XP (my computer came with Vista but I'm not really a fan). I see an nVidia splashscreen come and go and then the installshield wizard comes up and loads the installation files... and then disappears. As far as I can tell, the installer crashes every single time I load it. I also tried downloading the unified drivers from nVidia's website, and the same thing happened. So my question is, how can I get these drivers to work? I really need to get my computer working because it is an integral part of my job... so double thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me on this.

OK, I booted into safe mode, removed the old VIA drivers from the %systemroot%\system32\drivers folder, and then saw that the nForce2 drivers from a previous install were in Add & Remove Programs.  I believe that to be my entire problem.  So I uninstalled all NVIDIA drivers.  Rebooted into Safe Mode.  Installed all the 5.10 drivers with success, excluding the sound driver cuz I don't need it.  Rebooted.  Windows hangs during loading screen.  Reset, then I hit F8 and choose Last Known Good Configuration.  Remove all NVIDIA drivers again.  Reboot into Safe Mode.  Install one driver at a time and reboot inbetween.  System hangs because of the IDE driver.  So, choose Last Known Good Configuration again, uninstall all NVIDIA drivers, reboot to Safe Mode, reinstall all drivers but IDE, then boot Windows normally.  Needed to install display driver, as I have a NVIDIA card.  Did that, disabled nwiz and NvMcTray in msconfig as I always do.  Reboot.  My SYSTEM registry hive is corrupted.  So after wiping Linux (which I never use anyway cuz my modem is not Linux compatible) off my other drive and installing Windows and the Internet on it, I found out how to take the registry from a previous Restore Point and copy it to the config folder.  Did that, booted to that drive, had to uninstall and reinstall all NVIDIA drivers again, but it works now.  I don't have tons of System devices like you Fredrik, but I do have 3 Motherboard resources, which is weird.  Whatever.  Thanks for all your help, guys

  • Hi, my Ipod Schuffle (4 gen) dissapears from windows vista right after I execute Itunes, I've change the drive letter, erase temps in App data file, verified USB drivers, etc... Can someone guide on how to solve this?

Hi, my Ipod Schuffle (4 gen) dissapears from windows vista right after I execute Itunes, I've change the drive letter, erase temps in App data file, verified USB drivers, etc... Can someone guide on how to solve this?

If you want the shuffle to be always visible in Windows (outside of iTunes), you need to Enable disk use.
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, select the Summary tab.  You should see a checkbox that says Enable disk use.  Check it and click Apply.
NOTE:  If disk use is enabled, you have to Eject the shuffle in iTunes, BEFORE you physically disconnect it.  If disk use is NOT enabled, you can disconnect the shuffle at any time, as long as iTunes is not doing something with it at that moment (such as syncing); the shuffle's light will then be blinking (to indicate DO NOT DISCONNECT).
So, unless you want to use the shuffle like a USB flash drive (carry random files on it), you may want to NOT Enable disk use.

  • Windows 7 64bit & Aceeca USB Drivers & PdaNet

Has anyone been successful in using the Aceeca USB drivers with PdaNet 4.1.2 on Windows 7 64bit?
I believe this should work, but it doesn't.  I have place two support messages into June Fabrics about this over the last two weeks and got no response.  The June Fabrics FAQ says:
Does PdaNet support 64 bit system? On 64 bit Vista I received installation error "UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices err=-536870347".
PdaNet does not work on 64 bit system due to lack of 64 bit USB support from Palm's HotSync Manager.
My device is a Treo 755p.  I can successfully HotSync via both bluetooth and USB/64bit-Aceeca on Windows 7 64bit.  I have got a trial version of USBModem by Mobile-Stream.com to work for Internet tethering, but I just don't understand why PdaNet won't install given the installed Aceeca drivers and June Fabrics FAQ.

Can you provide a link to a detail description of how to get it to work -- I can't seem to do it.
Do you need the 20/month additional option from Verizon?

  • How can I reinstall Bluetooth drivers after loading windows 7 64 bit version on my 2010 iMac?

I have just uninstalled windows 7 32 bit version which I have been using for ages and upgraded to the 64 bit version. I did this from the windows partition in my bootcamp divided hard drive. I then reinstalled the drivers using the application DVD which came with my machine but the Bluetooth driver is missing. One thought I have is whether I would be able to use the driver DVD which came with my 2011 MacBook Air (which has been running fine on windows 64bit version since I bought it)
Would this work or any other ideas?

  • Problems under Windows USB Drivers (Apple Wired Keyboard)

    Hello guys,
somehow I have some issues after installing Windows 7 regarding the USB Drivers: if I install the "Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Installation Disk - 1E31"-drivers, doesn't matter if I do it from Intel's or Apple's webpage, the USB Ports of my Apple Wired Keyboard (A1243) don't work anymore; it says "Not enough power". I have already tried that workaround found on the web, by increasing the output mAh through regedit, but the point is that after installing these drivers, the section "Power Management" isn't shown anymore in the device manager.
I'm having a Macbook Pro Late 2012 with Retina display

Just an idea for you. There is an entire Apple Discussion forum dedicated to Boot Camp and Windows.

  • Windows 8.1 Task Sequence is picking the wrong USB drivers

I have a Windows 8.1 task sequence that hasn't had any driver issues on all the other desktops I've tested. Except the HP Compaq 6000 Pro. None of the USB drivers are working correctly unless I select Update Driver Software -> Browse my computer for

  • Windows XP didn't install usb drivers

when i installed the drivers with the cd that boot camp burns, it didn't install the usb drivers. Now I can't use the keyboard, mouse or any other usb device. Is there anything i can do without re-installing windows?

I have had the same experience; for some reason the "bonk" sound is played over the speakers (as if a usb device has been unplugged) and the keyboard ceases to function. The mouse still works, though. Unplugging and plugging back in the keyboard solves the problem for a little while - then it happens again! At one point I got a message telling me the USB bus couldn't provide adequate power - so I tried plugging the keyboard into a powered hub. No better result, but easier to plug and unplug rather than reach around the back of a 20" monitor.
Could this just be a flaw in the beta of Boot Camp? Anyone trying a non-Apple keyboard have a different result? Please email solution if found! Thanks.

  • Error with windows 7 bootcamp drivers

    Hello,
I've installed Windows 7 via bootcamp and it's working fine, the only issue is that I don't have sound and I read that to get that I should install the drivers from my OS disc.
The problem is that when I insert the disc and run the setup file, it doesn't install the drivers. Instead it asks me whether I would like to "remotely install mac os x" or "share cd/dvd" (don't know if I got the wording 100% on those, but something like that).
I tried going through with the sharing, maybe thinking that would lead to downloading the drivers but it didnt accomplish anything. I have a friend who did bootcamp and he said that his didn't work anything like that, he just put in the disc and it installed the drivers.
So am I doing something wrong? I am 100% sure it is the right disc (even asked my friend to double check). Windows is fully installed (i can get online and everything).
Apologies if this has been asked/answered before. No amount of keyword searching let me find a similar topic.

In reading your original post it appears Windows works fine except the sound issue. There must be Apple drivers present or lots of things wouldn't work. The only thing I can think of is to try to repair the Drivers. I have Boot Camp on two MacBook Pros with Vista and Win7 and have had no problems with the drivers except to update the graphics for a recent game. Both the internal and USB external speakers are good.
If You Have Problems Installing the Device DriversIf it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.
    To repair Boot Camp drivers:
1  Start up your computer in Windows.
2  Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
3  If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
4  Click Repair and follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed WindowsLogo testing, click Continue Anyway.
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example,if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X installation disc.
    To reinstall a specific driver:
1  Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
2  Quit AutoRun if it opens.
3  Using Windows Explorer, locate the driver that you want to reinstall.
4  Open the driver to start the installation.

  • Windows 8.1 drivers MF4800 series

I just purchased a 4880 to replace perfectly workable older machine, 4150, because Canon never put out Win 8 drivers that worked well for scanning on that machine. Understandable, i guess, as it was fairly old. The 4880 was working great in Win 8 environment which is where I should have left things. But I checked Windows Compatibility site before upgrading to Win 8.1, and this machine was listed as "compatible."
Well, it's not. In fact, it's almost completely nonfunctional, with limited printing capability, but no scanning or two-way communication with the PC. Imagine my frustration when I contacted Canon and they said, no, we have no drivers, and "probably" will, but there's no way to know when. "Could be two days, could be six months," one rep said.
So, I'm thinking about returning it. Pretty shocked Canon would not have updated drivers for the OS now being sold on new PCs, especially when the OS has been out in developer stage for months. Does anyone else have better info on this, ie, is it worth keeping the machine past the return window on the chance that Canon might update the drivers? Meanwhile, be warned that if you have a machine in this series and want to upgrade to Win 8.1, you're asking for it.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi RCJ.
I understand that you are having issues with the printing and scanning functions now that the printer is connected to your Windows 8.1 operating system.  The drivers for the Windows 8 operating system do work on Windows 8.1. I recommend performing a full uninstall and reinstall of the drivers, using the instructions below:
     1.  Unplug the USB cable from the printer.
***Please leave the USB cable disconnected until you have uninstalled and completely reinstalled the drivers.  Connecting the printer before going through the "Setup Wizard" may cause the Windows operating system to install a generic driver for the printer.***
     2.  Press the Windows key and 'x'.
     3.  Select 'Control Panel'.
     4.  Select Devices and Printers.  The Devices and Printers window opens.
     5.  In the Devices and Printers window, right click on the MF4800 Series and select 'Remove' to delete the printer.  Delete all of the icons for the MF4880dw.
     6.  Close the Devices and Printers window then press the Windows key and 'x'.
     7.  Select 'Control Panel'.
     8.  Select 'Programs and Features'.
     9.  Double click on driver to uninstall.  Follow the on screen prompts.  Repeat to uninstall the MF Tool box.
    10.  Restart you computer.
    11. Leaving the USB cable disconnected, please download the driver from the Canon website using the following link: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
    12. The site will automatically detect your operating system as Windows 8.1.  Please click the drop down arrow and change it to Windows 8 (x64).
    13.  Next, select [Drivers] and the file [Windows 64bit] imageCLASS MF4890dw/MF4880dw MFDrivers (UFR II / FAX / ScanGear).
    14.  Click "I Agree - Begin Download".
    15.  Save the file to your computer.  Once the download is complete, click "Run".
    16.  Click "I Decline - Go Back" on the Canon site and select [Software] and the file [Windows 32bit & 64bit] Tool Box Ver.4.9.1.1.mf15.
    17.  Save the file to your computer.  Once the download is complete, click "Run".
    18.  Close the Canon window and go to the location on the computer where the files are saved.
    19.  You will see two icons with the name MF4800_Series_MFDrivers_W64_us_EN_2.exe.  Double click on the yellow folder icon.  In the folder you will see two files with the name "Setup".  Double click on the "Setup" that has the type [Application].
    20.  The "MF Drivers Setup Wizard" will open.  Please proceed through the setup and restart the computer.
    21.  After the computer restarts, please connect the USB cable to the computer and allow the computer to finish the installation process.  Once the printer is listed in [Devices and Printers], right-click on the icon and select it as the default printer.  Please open a document on the computer and print it out.
Please follow steps 19 and 20 to install the Canon MF Toolbox 4.9 software.  Once the software is installed, please follow the steps below to complete a scan:
    1.  Press the [SCAN] button on the control panel of the printer and place a document in the feeder.
    2.  On the computer, open the MF Toolbox program.
    3.  Select the [PDF] scan function.
    4.  Click the green [Start] button in the PDF window.  The scan should begin.
Another possible issue will be having a device, such as a USB hub or switch connected between the printer and the computer.  If you do have a device such as this connected, we recommend removing the printer and creating a direct connection from the printer to the computer.
I hope this information is helpful.
