Windows 7 RTM (Build 7600) and iTunes 9.0

Been running iTunes 8 with no problems under Windows 7 RTM, But after installation of iTunes 9, Boy what a mess. Can only play one track at a time regardless of Albums origin (CD, Itunes store etc). Genius Doesn't work, iTunes DJ not working, Genius Mix not working. Anybody else using this operating system experiencing same problems

The problem where Genius says, "Genius results can't be updated right now. The required file cannot be found." is related to BranchCache.
Disable BranchCache and try again.
You can find a bit more on BranchCache here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637820%28WS.10%29.aspx
You can disable it from an administrative command prompt with "netsh branchcache set service mode=DISABLED."
Best of luck

  • Windows 7 Build 7600 [HELP!]

Long story short, my Acer Aspire laptop was stolen November 4th, then recovered just a few weeks ago. The man whole stole it completely erased my Windows 7 and replaced it with 'Windows 7 Build 7600' - yes, I know it's illegal. My laptop is still in good condition, and because it's so nice I'm hoping to repair it. What I want to know is -
-How would you delete Windows 7 Build 7600
    -Do I have to re-purchase Windows 7
-How do I get my Wifi to work -- [I have a button on my laptop, it won't turn on. No, the button isn't broke. I believe my driver for Wifi was deleted...]
-How much would this cost? Could Best Buy solve this for me?
No, I have no warrenty on it. I got it about 5 years ago, the warrenty is expired. No, I have no reciept, I did not purchase this laptop, my friend's church group bought it for me.
Any advice would be helpful! Thank you!

Head there and follow the instructions to order the recovery media.
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • TS1490 i am running Windows Home Server 2011 and iTunes can't seem to connect to the iTunes Store nor run Genius on my Library.  What do I need to do?

I am running Windows Home Server 2011 and have installed iTunes on my dedicated server, attached to my router.  I can't connect to the iTunes Store nor run Genius on the server ONLY (iTunes runs fine on by two other PCs and my Apple TV and I share the libary that resides on the server).  I am running a very current version of iTunes 64 bit.  I have run the connectivity test and it failed.
My guess is that there is some setting in the Server software that i need to change to let iTunes access urls or computers on the internet.  Does anyone have any experience with this software combination?
    Thank you

Some guy managed to get this to work. The following link is for iTunes 10.5 but it should work for the current release.

  • No Password entry option Windows 10 build 10041 (and 10049) unable to log in

Hello. I upgraded using the automatic process from within Windows 7 home premium. I'm using an All-in-one machine with 4gb RAM and 3.10ghz Core i3.
Initially I had a local account with no password, which automatically logged me in from start up. Everything ran smooth and well. I switched to a microsoft account which requires a password, in order to install apps from the Metro store.
I shutdown overnight, and return the next morning, and I'm faced with the usual screen. A large image, few icons. I swipe upwards on screen or press space to move along and log in. My username is presented to me, but the password input field is missing.
It says "Andrew" and has my email beneath it, but the password box is just not there. I clicked the screen randomly but nothing showed up. I've tried typing anyway but still nothing.
This left me comlpletely unable to sign in and use windows. In dire need of a PC to use, I activated a workaround which allowed me to use cmd without logging in and used the /active command on the hidden administrator. This is the only accessible use of
my PC I've got, and my files are buried deep within C:/users/..... and so on.
As per the title, I also had this issue in build 10049 but I had to revert back since I locked the PC using window+L out of habit, and I couldn't log back in. I reverted back to 10041 since having restarted the PC from being locked out, I encountered
    boot loop.

    Andrew754,
Are you saying that you are now in build 10041, and that you are unable to login because there is no option to enter the password ?
If yes, have you tried...... press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys ?
Will that bring you back to normal sign in screen ?

    Hi,
The report shows that the current install is
counterfeit, how did you active this Windows? if it is actived by hacker's Activation Exploit, then the only thing you can do is to reinstall with a
    genuine one.
if you bought this from a vender or someone, you can contact them for your rights.
Meanwhile, as Team ZigZag said, you can get more professional answer in genuine Windows 7 forum.

  • Windows 7 Gold code and Itunes

About to upgrade my development pc to Windows 7 RTM, I have itunes installed on the machine to sync with my iphone - amd I going to run into any issues with the application and windows 7?

  • Windows Vista, Ipod Connectivity and Itunes 7.1

    Hi,
I was going to buy windows vista but my friend informed my that Windows vista and itures creates some connectivy problems with the ipod.
I was just wondering if this is/was true ?
If it is/was true, has then recently new I-tunes 7.1 update fixed that problem, or should i wait for the next update before buying vista ?
    many thanks

I have a new Dell with Vista pre-installed & the ONLY thing not working properly is my iPod. iTunes 7.1 works fine. My songs are there, I can play & download without issue. And I really like the iTunes gadget on the sidebar (although it's certainly a live-without item that's not needed). However, I am currently unable to sync my iPod. It hasn't been able to sync since I got the new system. I have run every diagnostic possible & it still won't sync. I am tempted to restore & see if that will help but frankly I am unwilling to lose the 5000 songs that're already on it without being sure that it will take them back. So... I'm at an impasse. However, the rest of my software all works faster, cleaner- a great improvement over my old system although I understand that I am the exception not the rule. I happen to like my Vista a lot, other than that ONE bug which I'm sure will be fixed soon.

  • Windows 7 64 Bit and iTunes 11.1.5 and Phone are not able to Sync

I am having issues with my iPhone 5S sync to my iTunes. I pull up iTunes and then a couple of minutes or so will  show my iPhone 5S so when I go to Sync it with iTunes and my computer via WiFi it falls off and will not sync. This happens all the time. Only way my phone will sync to the computer is that I got to plug the phone in to the usb cord and connect it to my computer so I can sync it whenever I need to. Is this a bug that Apple has yet to fix or what? Anybody else have the issue? Also I do not get the icon for to share speakers or whatever by the slider for volume just above the menu bar, is this a bug/flaw as well? All this has been happening from the very start.

I have had similar issues with mine, happens mainly if I transfer songs and then decide to disconnect my iPod to listen to them with my IEMs (I use Interenet Explorer in my case and it is not neccessarely up when this happens, so I seriously doubt it is an issue conencted to the web browser). I have no patience for this so my trick is I try to eject it from iTunes, if that does not work, then I bring Windows explorer up, right mouse click on the iPod mounted drive and select Eject. It gives me the same warning but there is a third button selection called Continue. When I choose that it just disconnets the drive anyway and the iPod is finally disconnected. It seems to work each and every time I do it so this solution is fine for me. Would be intersting to see what the real root cause of this is because I started getting this problem with the newer iTunes 11.

  • Windows Vista Movie Maker and Itunes Music

I am asking for help and apologize if I am in the wrong area - we just purchased a computer and I need some help - we have an HP that came w/ Windows Vista. I am trying to make a movie on Windows Movie Maker and tried to import a song from Itunes that I purchased and it keeps coming up w/ an error about my system not having the codec. I have no idea what this means and need to know if I am doing something wrong. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated-I am trying to make a movie w/ my all my daughters pictures-she will be 1 this month-I know TMI, sorry. Thank you again

Well, there are two problems probably:
    1. I'm not sure if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files, and all of the files you download through iTunes are in AAC format.
    2. Even if Windows Movie Maker can use AAC format files (which I doubt it can), the AAC files through iTunes are DRM-encoded, which means they have copywrite protection which prevents their use outside of a specific set of iPods/iTunes.
If you want to use that particular song in your movie, it would be best to either find a source that is not copy-protected to download it from (notice I didn't suggest downloading it illegally ;>), or ... you can buy a CD with that song on it, and then rip it to MP3 to import into Windows Movie Maker.

  • Windows 7 x64 bit and iTunes not recognizing iPhone 3GS

    Hello,
I'm sorry to bring this up again and I know the community has seen it a million times but I'm definately needing someone to point me in the right direction. I have an Acer 5552 Laptop with Windows 7 x64 bit. It does not have the Intel P55 chipset as what I have read before in these discussions, so updating the BIOS will not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes x64 bit, removed and reinstalled the drivers and Apple Mobile Support software (which should do it by removing iTunes as a whole) and whenever I hook my iPhone to my laptop for a second sync it takes a long time to back up and then it gives an error, then when i try to connect it again iTunes says that the iPhone cannot be recognized and needs to be restored. I have done this 3 times in the past 2 months. This is a brand new laptop that I have. There should be no reason for this to happen unless I'm missing something. Is there any workaround to this? for the time being I'm syncing everything on an old, slow desktop that has Windows XP. It's worked with my old laptop which had XP on it great but sadly I gave my old laptop to my dad which he now uses to sync his iPhone with now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..also if anyone has the same laptop model I have and have Windows 7 x64 on it..please let me know what you did if you got your 3GS to sync all the time with no problems.
    Thank you very much.

    4 days and no response...really??

  • Partitioning mac mini, running windows xp in one and itunes mac version

i want to be able to operate my work pc (windows XP professional) via vpn I am required by my company to have vpn access to my desk top at work as part of our emergency preparedness policy. I would not use it often. I thought this is a less expensive alternative to buying a pc. the other use i want is to load itunes onto the other partition. operate it via wifi from my iMac across the room so i can place it near my 1080HD sony bravia52xbr3, to connect the itunes visualizer to the tv via hdmi-dvi or does anybody have real knowledge about the feasability of my plan?
imac G5 1.8mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   wireless keyboard and mouse

You don't mention if your mini is an intel or ppc based mini. If you have an intel machine, you can use BootCamp to easily repartition your mini's drive and create a FAT32 or NTFS partition to install WinXP. You need a full install disk with at least SP2 (refer to the boot camp requirements here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ ). If you have a PPC based mini, well....you could find a copy of VirtualPC and install it but the performance is dismal.
As far as the iTunes issue goes, I'm no guru for iTunes, but I don't think you can set up the mini to act like an airport express. You can share music library's but to actually control the mini, you would probably need something like Apple Remote Desktop or Timbuktu. I have my old PPC mini connected to my HDTV and audio system and control it via Timbuktu from my main desktop in my ome office. The main computer has sharing enabled and I simply control the mini to start playing the shared library over the wireless network.

  • How to merge music from a My Music (Windows media audio files)  and iTunes?

Purchased some music from iTunes music store and I am hoping to get them on my MP3 player that is NOT an iPod. Is there a way to do this? I want to have these songs as well as songs from my My Music folder (Windows media audio files) on my MP3 player....
I know I cannot move the music from iTunes to the My music.... (well I can but when I click on them to play, iTunes comes up)
I know that iTunes is not compatible with my MP3 player....
anything besides burning a disc (which I am not sure my computer can do...)?
    thanks in advance, Megan

Purchased some music from iTunes music store and I am hoping to get them on my MP3 player that is NOT an iPod. Is there a way to do this? anything besides burning a disk?
Sorry but no, there isn't. Tracks from the iTunes Music Store (as they are with any other legal download store with major-label content) are copy protected and so can't be directly converted. The only way to get them into another format is to burn them to an audio CD, so if your computer doesn't have a CD burner, then you're stuck, I'm afraid.
