Windows 7 running slow on network.

Are there issues with the network interface card using windows 7 installed with Boot Camp?

I experience this too - it *****!
I saw another thread where the only suggested solution was to install VMWare instead of using BootCamp .

If knew that a MacBookPro could not run Windows 7 properly using BootCamp, I would have never bought, since I use Windows7 for work and the Mac at home. I just can't live with slow network access at work

  • Windows running slow on 512 RAM

i was just wondering if running windows on the macbook on 512MB RAM will be really slow. cuz i heard that the ram is designed to be really fast for the mac os but when you run windows it's different. I'll only be using the macbook for photos, music, school stuff, movies. let me know if you have anything else to say about this like maybe upgrading the harddrive or whatever.
    thanks.

It is difficult (nearly impossible) to compare RAM performance under MacOSX vs. Bootcamp WindowXP (Or Windows system in general). Benchmark out there are only for reference and different people have different sayings which is simply confusing.
However, there are tons of reviews on the net that shows Bootcamp Windows performance is similar to other notebook PC on the market. Apple Macbook performance is definetely not the best, but not too bad.
So the general rule for upgrading notebook applies to MacBook as well. If you have cash, dish out more RAM. This will benefit the overall machine performance significantly.
I agree with the other poster here regarding the requirement of RAM under MacOSX and WinXP.
I've upgrade my brothers Macbook to 1.25GB and my Mac Mini to 1.25GB. Both machine shows significant improvement on most operation.
So if you have $, try to spend as much as possible on RAM.

  • Choose application window runs SLOW

When choosing a default application, or just an application to open with, it runs INCREDIBLY SLOW. As in, 5 seconds to render every change (scroll, click, etc). Everything else runs marvelously.

The tools are not responding when I try to use them.  Some of them work sometimes, but not others and some don't work at all.  I'm in a design class online and I need these tools desperately.  I have an assignment due Monday and I'm losing the whole weekend because Tech Support is only open M-F!
Any help anyone can give me will be appreciated.

It's important that you have a steady WiFi connection, ZealousEdge. What phone do you have? Is your phone unable to connect to any WiFi network? If you can, please try deleting the saved WiFi network and re-adding it.

I followed the instructions exactly as in the article.I don’t think there is much scope for error as i did not encounter similarly named files and the described path took me exactly to the file in Program Files. I am certain I have never encountered similar problems with my laptop before. Even if I made a mistake, it would have been so easy to make that I would not recommend anyone else to try that!

i have 4 ipods on itunes but my computer was running slow so i put windows 7 on it but it wants me to sync my ipod but if i do i will lose all my music on my ipod how do i take my music and send it to my playlist so i can sync myipod so i won't lose any music

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device.  Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software.  A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

  • The larger the partition for windows, the slower it will run?

    Hello Everyone,
Someone has told me this was the case, The larger you put your partition for windows, your computer or windows will run slower. Is this really the case? i was planning to make windows 500GBs and Mac 500GBs, will this cause any issues?
    Thank You

Yep, even if you put them to 500GB each.
If this were true, 500+GB hard drives wouldn't be very popular. Also, IF there is any connection between HD size and speed, it'd be very very hard to notice. Generally, at least in the past, HD's with more storage feature slower drive speeds, so this is potentially where this untrue statement came from, however, I do believe that is a thing of the past and Windows will run fine on your 500GB partition, without any noticable speed difference from a smaller sized partition. The drive still spins at the same speed, regardless of partition size.

  • IMac runs slow when copying through network port

Ive been noticing an issue with my new iMac where everything I copy through my network to another computer everything starts running slow.  What gives?  How can I correct?

10.2.0.3? Why? This is software that has been in desupport mode for 2+ years. If nothing else at least patch to 10.2.0.5.
That said please run this query on each node when it is slow and post the results. You will need to adjust the snap_id to your current AWR snapshot range.
    SELECT dhs.begin_interval_time, b1.instance_number, b2.value RECEIVED,
b1.value "RECEIVE TIME", ((b1.value/b2.value)*10) "AVG RECEIVE TIME (ms)"

  • After installing lion, my computer is running slower and having delays connecting to network

please help me resolve my problem.  after installing lion my system was running great for about a week.  suddenly it is having trouble connecting to the internet, running slow and the history pages are appearing without asking for them..  unable to get my homepage when opening up, just get a white screen. if i go to the history, i can get the homepage.  Only able to access my homepage by waiting for ever or getting it from the history.
    please help

Peter, thank you for responding.  No, I am not referring to the initial start up.  I downloaded Yosemite over a week ago and feel it is running very slow when switching websites.  Also, I have experienced numerous hangups causing me to force quite much more than before.
I just cleared my Safari history (I am guessing that is what you meant by "clean the old internet-caches" and restarted Safari.  I will see how it goes.
I uses a file called "Desktop" from my IPhoto library for my desktop pictures. It contains about 20 pictures.  I configured it that way in Preferences, but it seems whenever I shut down and restart my computer it reverts to the generic picture of Yosemite.  As for the question mark and "Update Needed" showing on my startup log in screen, I think I fixed that by changing my password in Preferences.
No that I have cleared the Safari history, I will see how things go.
