Windows 7 setup fails due to missing driver (HP Pav 500-417ng with Win 8.1)

Hi,
I have added a SSD to my hp pavilion 500-417NG and want to install Windows 7 64Bit incl. SP1 to the SSD.
I'm using an USB stick to boot Win 7 setup.
Setup is starting as usual, allows me to select language, keyboard etc. and to start install.
Than it throws an error, stating a driver is missing and only provides options to search or retry.
I have downloaded all HP Win 7 drivers and made them available in a folder which is accessible during setup, but driver will not be found.
So I need to cancel setup.
Any ideas?

Yes, it was just the EFI bootfile required, all the rest worked as usual.
Actually, I have now a dual boot system, and both installation work great.

Does the drive need to be a certain format? its FAT32 at the moment (not NTFS, so no security)
I have tried copying the contents of the wes7-ibw iso to another USB drive and the same thing happens.

I solved it : setup failed to open distribution share d:\ds ... error 0x8007000 /0x8007003
the cause I assume there is something strange about the CD file format on that disk.
I first created a bootable usb (diskpart) then as i didnt had software to do it all in once
i converted the original CD to iso, and used other software to burn an ISO as bootable CD on usb.
( i used iso to usb for that its free )
i ve tried it with the usb as fat32 and (using convert converted fat32 to NTFS (stayed bootable).
I even tried different hard disks no difference same error.
Each time same error.
Then in the end i noticed the folder content of the DS folder on USB and CD wasn't equally.
So then i copied directories one by one over their existing USB counterparts
After that it worked...
Maybe the CD isnt folowing some CDrom standards, or uses a rarely used format; not wel recognized by common CDrom tools

I am using BW 3.5, One of the user is getting the following error message while accessing one of the report:
Document Store Operation Failed due to missing authorisations.
The user has previously accessed this report many times. But when I tied to access the report, there was no problem.
Could any one of you advise me how to rectify this error?

Thanks for the response; I have checked authorizations and user is authorised to access all the existing reports in BW. Checks were successful.

I am getting the error message 'Document store operation failed due to missing authorization' when trying to save the workbook as the existing Workbook after changing the structure for it. We are using the Authorization Hierarchies.
What is the problem and how can I fix it, PLEASE ???

Martin,
To get a detailed message about the error (including which authorization objects the user needs to have to be able to perform the action that caused the error) use ST22. It sounds like they are missing the Open authorization for workbooks.

I have tried to develop a file to file scenario in XI 3.0. The Sendor File adapter is reading the file but the message is not getting transfered to Integration engine.
The audit log for the message is as follows:

This problem comes due to the post installation steps might be at the time of post installation some wrong might be done.
step1 : In sxmb_adm configure the integration server by giving the path as http://<host>:<abapport>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
step 2 : Check ur business system created at the time of post installation there u need to main the path as it as above.

[SOLVED] sup Installation Fails Due to Missing ruby-locale Dependency

I'm trying to install sup from the AUR but makepkg -s fails because its missing ruby-locale, which is one of its dependencies (I get "error: target not found: ruby-locale"). This appears to be because ruby-locale isn't in the AUR or the official repository. ruby-gettext also isn't in either repository, so I'm guessing that will be a problem as well.
I tried installing both of these with gem, and they appeared to install successfully but makepkg still fails with the same error message. Do I need to point pacman to the ruby-locale and ruby-gettext installations somehow?

makepkg uses pacman to check dependencies, and install them if they are available in the repos. pacman only knows about packages that it manages (obviously). gem-installed stuff will not be visible to pacman, so you will need to edit the PKGBUILD accordingly.
More generally, sup seems to be a dead project - last release nearly a year and a half ago, AUR package orphaned, various not-working comments in the AUR. This may or may not matter to you.
And more generally still - assuming you're an Arch newbie, based on the location of this thread and your post count, you should get into the habit of reading the wiki before asking here.

CS6 Installation Failed due to missing files.

I m having problem with the Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium installer now.
It keeps saying missing files. I was installing my CS6 from DVD yesterday on my new Macbook Air. then the whole laptop hanged for a good 3 hours. So i did a cold boot. After restarted my mac, i launched the Installer in the disc and it prompted the Missing file error message.
Installation Failed. Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to a missing file.
More troubleshooting tips:
1. Restart your computer.
2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking and firewall software.
3. Launch the installer and reinstall your applications.
I was not able to get pass this stage after numerous retry. Apparently the installer has already installed Bridge and some other components successfully. I tried to access the installer from the Utilities, but i met with the same error.
Would you be able to advise me how to proceed from here? Thank you very much.

thanks for the reply. i did try to uninstall by using Utilities > Adobe Installers > Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium installer, when i click the icon, i get "Uninstall Failed" error, it says:
Your uninstallation encountered errors.
Troubleshooting tips:
1. Restart your computer
2. Exit all applications including startup items, virus checking and firewall software
3. Uninstall again.
I have done all the above at least 3-4 times and also downloaded the cleaner tool, and ran it, but not items was listed for cleaning.
Any idea how i should proceed?

Windows update fails to install graphic driver

I have a problem, I recently installed Windows 10 Technical build 9926.
Windows update shows me that there is a update available for my Nvidia geforce GT 520 M card.
If I install the driver the installation fails. I have tried this for a couple of times but the problem stays.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem.
My System specifications are:
Windows 10 Technical preview build 9926 ( upgrade from windows 8.1 via windows update)
RAM: 6 GB
CPU: Intel Core i5 2430M
GPU: Nvidia geforce GT 520M

For what it's worth, as a rule, I NEVER install the video drivers offered via Windows Update. They have always been bad news for me. Case in point: I just upgraded my Dell Optiplex 9030 AiO to the Win 10 Ent Preview Build 9926. This PC has an AMD Radeon
R7 M265 video chipset in it, and the system automatically went to Windows Update to get the driver for it. As soon as the driver activated, the screen went blank and stayed that way. The only way to fix it was to roll back the the driver installation
with System Restore. When the PC rebooted, I unplugged the network cable so it couldn't attempt to install the flaky driver again. I downloaded the latest drivers from AMD directly and installed them. That fixed the problem.
So, my advice to you is to use the latest Windows 8/8.1 drivers for your card from the manufacturer's website. DO NOT USE VIDEO DRIVERS THAT ARE OFFERED VIA WINDOWS UPDATE. Other hardware drivers are usually okay, but the video drivers always seem to
be whacked in some way.

Uninstallation of LabView 6.1 fails due to invalid drive error

I have LabView 6.1, NI Drivers and VISA installed in my Windows XP Professional. I did a full software installation moths ago. Now I am trying to install LabView 8.5 and the new drivers require previous versions to be removed.
This yields a problem, trying to unistall 6.1 it turns out that buil-in uninstallation fails because of my Program Files being all installed in my main Windows unit device labelled with an F: letter. Uninstaller looks for a typical C: letter and fails. Is it not possible to change letters from Windows main unit devices (without risk).
How can I uninstall the software from my computer?

1) Neither "Revouninstaller" nor "Free Uninstaller" seem to work. NI packages appear again after uninstalling them using the programme. This also happens with ther Windows Ass/Remove software tool, though the latter is more inefficient (some package uninstallations are automatically aborted). I have been unable to uninstall any package with this methods.
2) I will try msiblast, I saw a thread in the forum of people with similar problems. I will report the results tomorrow.
3) Sorry, I meant my system drive partition. It is F: because of complicated problems that arised during a Linux Xubuntu + Windows XP dual boot installation. I had to put Xubuntu first and this yielded trouble.

SATA in Windows XP problems due to wrong driver?

I've noticed after playing with getting the SATA working properly in Windows XP, that after slipstreaming in the "Intel(R) 631xESB/632xESB SATA RAID Controller" drivers, that upon installation, I instead wind up having in device manager, under IDE Controllers, "Intel(R) 631xESB/6321ESB/3100 Chipset Serial ATA Storage Controller - 2680". Looking at the properties of the this SATA driver, it says it's Intel, but looking at the drivers themselves, they're just basic MS XP drivers, not the iastor.sys file that it should be.
Looking closer at what the PCI hardware ID for the controller should be, the slipstreamed driver shows "PCI\VEN8086&DEV_2681&CC0106". The PCI hardware ID for the controller, according to device manager is "PCI\VEN8086&DEV_2680&CC0101".
To me, that looks like two different pieces of hardware, and no how is the correct driver going to load.
Now, I don't know what driver is being loaded with Bootcamp 1.1, since I cannot get Bootcamp to work with my RAID 0 boot drive, even with a separate, blank HD in one of the bays.
If any of you people know about this stuff more than I do, can you possibly look into it and figure out if this might be the reason we are not getting Ultra DMA 5 on the HD's?
(I will admit, with the slipstreamed drivers loaded, and showing "Multi-Word DMA", it seems pretty darned fast!!!)
Right now, comparing this newly installed MacPro with XP to my pretty new Dell Optiplex GX620 with CoreDuo 3.2Ghz, the MacPRO is noticeably FASTER!!! Now, I can have my cake and eat it too!!!

AFS2K.SYS is a file that is written by Oak Technology. It shouldn't be a problem on your system unless you are running Windows XP and have non XP versions of the following software installed on your computer; -Plextor Manager 2000 -SimpliCD Recorder -Liquid Audio
If you have any of those software packages installed, please uninstall them and delete afs2k.sys. That should fix things for you.

You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

Connection of iPhone to PC failes due to missing necessary software

although I have the updated Itunes software on my PC I receive a failure message when I connect the iPhone to my PC saying that I have not the necessary software on my iPhone. On the other side my iPhone is recognized by my internet explorer and is visible as a hard drive.

Hi i wonder if anyone is experiencing the same problems i am having transfereing photos from the 3Gs to a PC. I have plugged the cable in via the usb and the scanner and camera wizard pops up (sometimes), but when you open the advanced user tab there are no photos showing in the window. I have been on to Apple and they have no idea at precent why this is. My mate also has the same problem on a MAC and a PC running XP. The photos are there but i can get them off my phone to a file. ITunes picks up the phone no problem??????

T440s can't boot into MDT due to missing driver?

I've downloaded the SCCM drivers from the Lenovo site, added them to my OOB drivers, and updated my deployment share. The machine will go through the motions to boot into the PXE image for me to apply the image, but when I get to the final step to start selecting everything it complains about network drivers being unavailable.

I did not have this issue, but I did have an issue where the PE enviroment would not recognize anything plugged into a M93 USB port. My Win PE needed the USB 3.0 driver which was not being imported by default.
What I did (and someone showed me this) was make a separate folder in the Out-of-Box drivers area with what drivers I thought Windows PE would need. This included drivers with the Class: hdc, mouse, net, USB, etc. Not sure exactly what else you need, I threw in a lot of stuff and it did bloat my PE iso by 100+ mb.
After that, Right-click your deployment share proprerties, go to the Windows PE tab and change your Selection profile to one that just includes your Windows PE folder.
Sounds like if you can get the T440s network driver in there you should be okay.
