Windows 7 syncing

I have windows 7
everything seems to work fine. however when I plug in my ipod touch or my iphone it does the backup fine on the top ... however when it get to syncing it is just stuck there and does get out of the sync. it is not frozen as I can stop the sync but I left it on for hours and nothing ... any solution for this... its driving me crazy..

I have been using windows sync live between some of my files on my Mac and windows machines. After installing OS X 10.6 it no longer works. I reinstalled the windows sync software and received the following message.The operation could not be completed.(com.apple installer pagecontroller error -1).Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

There are many who are desiring this problem with windows live sync to be fixed. The windows live sync team are area of it and working on a fix, but they have said there is no time table for it to be repaired.

Windows : Syncing photos Events, Faces and Places from Phtoshop Elements 8

Hi everyone,
I buy an iPad yesturday and i try to sync my photos.
I'm a PC user (windows 7 x64) so I try to use Photoshop Elements 8 in order to sync my photo with iTunes as describe in the iTunes manual.
Unfortunatly, I can sync the photo albums only ... but I can't sync events, faces and places information...
Is it normal ? Doesn't PSE 8 support the syncing of these information ??
If this is correct, is there an issue to have a full support in iPad Photo or do you know some app able to sync this ?

Your English is better than my French.
For the folders syncing with windows pc's Photo albums:
1) Create a master sync folder on your pc with no photo files at the root level of the folder.
2) Create sub-folders within the master sync folder with the subfolders named what you want the ipad's photo albums to be named.
3) Place the photo files you want to sync in the appropriate subfolder within the master sync folder.
4) In itunes on the photos tab, select the master folder as the sync folder.
5) After syncing, each subfolder will be an album on the ipad with the proper photos contained there-in.
For the Places; The ipad should display Places information for any photo with geotagging data. This is stored with the photo in the metadata. It is the Lat/Long of the photo. This info must be included on the photo file before syncing.
For the Events, I use separate folders within the master sync folder for each event. (see above).
I am not sure how Events and Faces works with PSE8 or if the method PSE8 uses is compatable with the ipad. iPhoto on a mac works for events and faces on the ipad, based on posts I have read here.

My windows syncs/ phone has files but wont play

i have installed the nokia pc suite on my laptop which runs on vista. i go too my media player and the phone is all ready too go so i drag and drop desired music files over too the syn box. the sync is fine and the track names and songs are there but the phone wont let them play. any advice. also my computer says i need to change it in my ui. where the hell is ui on my nokia n73

I don't think I follow.
PC Suite gives the error about being in incorrect mode because you're not using PC Suite so just IGNORE that error.
Windows Media Player recognizes devices that support MTP, I'm not sure if N73 supports MTP. But if it does it should have a Music or Media mode when you connect USB.

What do you mean?, do you mean use Windows Media Player to scan for files?, what do you mean it doesn't "pick" your media center?

In Create Collection Window - Sync to Lightroom mobile option is missing

Hi,
I recently installed Lightroom CC (Latest Version) and there is one thing I can't figure out.
When I Create a new collection, in the Create Collection window there isn't the option "Sync with Lightroom mobile".
The last option in that window is Set as target collection
I saw in the manuals and tutorials that it should be there, and it is missing, because I want to sync with LR on my mobile phone.
I'm definitely connected to Creative Cloud with my Adobe ID (and using beside LR another adobe CC apps)
I tried to uninstalled and reinstalled LR and the problem persists.
What should I do?

The checkbox isn't there because the catalogue isn't signed in to LrMobile. This is done at the top left of the screen - click the identity plate area.

Mac vs windows sync

I have a TX and have used it on a Windows based computer. This computer is slow and gives me problems. I have a macbook and it works without the problems/headaches. Will there be a problem with converting the palm to a mac based computer????

Nope install the software from the CD. Then you should be able to sync your TX to the Mac. I'm not very good on the Mac side of things but I'm sure if you run into errors. Repost here under the Mac board. This board is for Feedback about the site.

Upgraded Windows - Sync/Libary Problem

Hey Everyone,
I wound up having to do a clean install of Windows 7 last night. The only version I have of my music is on my ipod and my ipad. Anyway, I went to update my ipod and ipad and got the message, "the ipad is synched with another itunes library. Do you want to erase this ipad and sync with this iTunes libary?"
LOL, the answer is absolutely not. I have gigs of music that don't seem to want to transfer over. Is there any way around this?

Thanks, Carolyn. I looked at this and it FAQ does not allow me to transfer my play lists that were developed on the ipad. I have many - many - CDs also which I copied from disc on to my ipad library which are also not being copied over. All of my purchases, honestly, I am not really worried about. That will move with my account.
I guess, I am trying to get iTunes to figure out that my new OS is not really an alien computer...but the same one I have been using for the last year and a half.

Calendar / Windows sync problem

My iPhone syncs contacts, etc. just fine with Windows. However, I get an error message syncing the calendar: "the sync server failed to sync the iPhone". Odd message. Any suggestions??? Thank you!

Windows Sync Problem

I'm running Windows XP SP2 with Office Pro 2007. Immediately after installing Office I can sync my iphone and both Outlook contacts and calendar sync just fine both ways. After a day or two the iphone goes through the motions as though it is synching but no data is synched either way. I can reinstall all of the Apple software and it does not fix the problem. I can try the setting that just copies all data from the PC to the iphone but that does not work either. I try resetting sync history but still no joy. But if I just uninstall and reinstall Office 2007 it will start synching successfully again. It will work for a day or two then will continue to go through the motions of synching but no data is synched either way. Same behavior with Office Pro 2003. I wasted my money on the upgrade and it did not solve the problem.
I talked with Apple support about this and after trying a few things that did not solve the problem, I was told to call Microsoft because they did not really have the expertise to figure out the problem. Gee thanks Apple.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks.

If Palm desktop will not open with the error you are reporting, the datebook folder typically contains corrupted data.
Do you have the current data on the handheld?
If you do, you can rename the datebook folder to datebook.old and see if Palm desktop will open.
On the PC, go to my computer, local disk ( typically driveC ) , program files, palm or palmone, look for your username folder, open the username folder and find the datebook folder. Rename this to datebook.old. Open Palm desktop and see if will open without errors.
If it opens and you have the current data on the handheld, change the hotsync conduits to handheld overwrites desktop, you can set the expense conduit to "do nothing" and sync.

Windows ~ sync'ing via iTunes only

iTunes may be the media player of choice for MacOS, but it certainly is not for Windows (... if I had a Mac this would be a different post). IMHO, the fact that Apple has chosen to lock 3rd-party media players out of the iPhone (and iPod Touch) media databases reminds me of Microsoft's past practices ... I would have thought Apple was better than this(?)

Hello, Mathieu. I think that is normal. From the ipad user guide:
Photos organizes collections by Albums, Events, Faces, and Places. Places uses the location information encoded within each photo, and not all photos may have this information. Events and Faces must first be configured in iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac, then synced to iPad.

M500 Windows Sync problem

Never had any problem with my M500, until I just created approx. 25 notepad notes from a seminar, two days ago. After copying them, deleting them, thats when my sync problem occurred.......Now I can't even open my desktop version! Its warning: Cannot open Datebook data. Sync attempts begin, but then gets hung up on the Expense records, and I don't have any Expense records in that folder!!! Help! My handheld works.

HT201745 There is no support in the website of apple ( a famous company for namesake) for resolving the problems arising out of latest version of itunes. I find no button for sync in the new window of itunes then how can I sync music to my ipod classic.

On the hope that latest version of itunes will work more for me, I downloaded the itunes version 12 recently. But to my surprise the sync button is not there even if I connect the ipod ( classic iOS 1.3 version). My ipod serial No.is 8L730BL1V9M and it is ipod classic with buttonwheel. I am having 32bit Windows vista home premium and using DELL system. How I can find sync button and for your information, the itunes player window shows every song I have in the library and I cannot sync the songs to my ipod. Hitherto there was no such problem for playing and copying songs from and to my ipod. What is the remedy ? please tell if anybody knows.

Windows 7 Sync - Slow

Good Morning,
We have Windows Sync setup on some staff laptops, but when the laptop is syncing it makes it so slow - virtually unusable.
If we turn sync off it is fine.
I am thinking about just installing Direct Access, but this obviously only any good if the user has an internet connection.
Any thoughts how we can stop Windows 7 sync center slowing pcs right down.
It used to be fine in XP when it just done a sync at log off!!!!!

How much data did you transfer? What is the result if we disable synchronization on some files, and only sync some small files?
make sure the network speed is fine and update the driver for the network adapter.

TS1424 I purchased the series "Call the Midwife" and downloaded it to my Windows desktop. Then I tried to sync the episodes to my 1st generation iPad and an error message told me that the video format was incompatable with the my iPad. What to do?

After downloading into my computer, I tried syncing to my iPad but to no avail. The purchased tv series would not sync. So then I tried to download via wifi directly to my iPad and the first two episodes downloaded no problem. The following 6 episodes then said that the video format was not compatible with my iPad and therefore would not download. What should I do. I don't even know who to ask in Apple nor how to get in touch without paying a fee.

If the media is still located on your computer, I would create a version specifically for the iPad. To create and iPad version in iTunes 11 select the media that you are wanting to convert. From there, select the File menu > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV version. Once the media has been converted, sync the iPad version to the iPad.
