Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7

Hello
I have a HP NoteBook G62-225DX and it is not starting up (I am getting the blank screen with the cursor on top).
I tried putting the Windows 7 CD (64-bit) and do a System Restore to an earlier point but for every restore point I am getting "Windows 7 System Recovery Error 0x800700b7" and no restore is happening.
Whata is the solution - Reinstall The OS ?
Regards
Abdul G

Enter BIOS by tapping away at the F10 key immediately after powering on.Use Diagnostics to test the hard drive. If all tests are ok, try Restore again..if no joy, then a full System Recovery may be needed.

  • Windows vista recovery error CTOERROR.flg and following that error 0x643 while installing update

    Hi All
    system info : HP LAPTOP DV6 -1256tx , windows vista sp1 32 bit
When I am trying to install windows vista sp1 from recovery disks/partition I am getting the error from recovery manager prompting me to choose either to retry or see the details for failure : CTOERROR.flg in form of notepad on my desktop. I have done retry 100 times but to no avail. I cannot restart after this recovery failure message as it shows dialog box on restart: windows security update is not installed successfully or is not trusted. So, i have to go through recovery process again to see the desktop (everything functioning - internet, video, music all) but only once.
Last time i got this message too . When i did installing windows from recovery disks few months back, that time  i figured out to install all imp. updates  through  automatic  windows update. All the updates were installed successfully and then it restarted and gone through process of language settings, time settings and all....
But this time when i am trying to update windows, i am getting windows update error 0x643 which is for security update for .net framewrok 3.5 sp1 and family update.I do know the answer how to get away with this error from "windows help" and also from this forum too, which asks for installing .net framework updates from windows update site directly. But the problem is:
Windows update ask me to restart after automatic or manual windows update installation takes place and restart causes problem as it shows dialog box - windows security update is not installed successfully . I need to install all updates in one go like last time from my understanding.:
    1. So if i install windows update (to try my luck as last time) it shows 0x643 error for .net framework and asks to restart and after that when i try to manually install failed updated 0x643 it asks me to restart the windows for pending updates.
    2. Alternatively, If i try to install failed update first just after recovery failure it won't allow me to install important updates for vista sp1 and asks to restart windows.
All i need is to successfully update all updates through windows automatic update which is not happening at the moment.
Not even able to upgrade to sp2 bcz it too restarts for installing.
    Please Help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPhone and windows system recovery

hi i have an iphone and i did a system recovery recently (windows xp) and i was wondering if when i connect to itunes to sync it says delete all files. will it delete my photos, contacts and notes and music or just my music

    007bond,
If you put at least one contact into Outlook or Address Book, you will get the option to merge the contacts with your computer. Notes are not synced with the computer at all, so those should remain unchanged.
    Hope this helps,

  • Windows 8 Recovery Error - 0xc00000f

    Hi All
I currently have a HP Pavilion 14-b030tu Sleekbook. What happened was the initial harddrive that came with the computer died and i was unable to clone the recovery partition for it. What i did was i called HP Support and they send me Recovery CDs for my laptop.
Since i currently do not have a external DVD drive i decided to copy and merge the contents of each disc onto a 32GB USB formatted as FAT32. What happens is everytime i try and boot the USB with Legacy Support Enabled and Secure Boot Disabled and vice versa it always says
    Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code: 0xc000000f
The new HDD is formatted as GPT and currently has a clean Windows 8 install on it. Ive set the USB Partition Type as Active but it still has the same problem.
    Anyone got any ideas?

The failure ID that you have provided for the memory test means that the Checksum has failed. This means that it is not finding a part that should be available, but is not showing. After taking a look into the issue of the memory test failing, the most likely cause of the failure is one memory modules has failed. I have included a link to another HP Forum thread here. Please follow the steps that DavidPK has outlined.
For the recovery error message that you are getting, this means that an integral component used during startup can not be found. This error should resolve itself once the memory Checksum error is resolved.
If your notebook has two memory modules, you should be able to boot from the one memory module until the other one is replaced.
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting, thank you.

Maybe someone knows if it is an hardware problem or a software problem?.
And is there a solution for this problem.?
I am looking forward to your reply.  (help).
    kind regards, ma2ling

    Hello ma2ling,
With the ntoskrnl.exe crashing I am thinking this is software / driver that is causing your problem and that your hardware is likely fine.
The first thing we should do is run the system file checker to check the integrity of the system files.
    1. Click on start
    2. Type CMD and right click on run as administrator
    3. In the CMD prompt type "SFC /scannow" (without the quotes)
Note: There is a space after SFC and before the /scannow

  • System Recovery error

I recently did a System recovery through the Hp recovery program on my computer everything went fine all the way up until it got to "starting services" a message the displayed saying "Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer, installation will resume after restarting" (something along those lines) after restarting it comes back to "Starting services" and the message is displayed once more keeping me in an infinite reboot loop. Windows 7 came pre-installed on my pc and I don't really know much about computers so I've tampered with nothing. Does anyone know if theres a way to fix this?

    Hello Selta:
Welcome to HP's forum yes to your question the fix is do your recovery using your recovery disks seeing that your factory D drive became corupted. If you did not make a set then you can by the from HP's parts store. Goto your computers update page and it will tell you how and where to get your recovery disks. Just click on Recovery Disk under computer picture and follow the links.

  • Windows system exec error in application causes app to crash

    The basics:
    LabView 11.0 (32-bit)
    Windows 7 enterprise
Because I have to control an elevated app I run my built app elevated on a Win7 64 machine.
I have an application that uses the system exec.vi (attached) to get a portion of the arp table. When I run this in development it works great. However when I build an app and run it this vi causes the app to be unstable and crash.... sometimes. I have a troubleshooting vi that I wrote that I place at the start and end of vis. This puts a log file on my desktop so that I can trace where it crashes. I've attached the log as well.
Basically we have a power controller that we control by Telnet but 1st I have to get the IP. I have the MAC of the controller which is DHCP but not the IP. To get the IP I fill the ARP table and search it for the MAC.
get ARPCache.vi throws the error messaage: System Exec.vi . Command was "cmd /c "arp -a | find "192.168.120"" but only in the built app.
Update: While getting more info to complete this post I did a build where I changed "get ARPCachs.vi" to show when called so I could see the error cluster. Now it pops up but no errors. hmmm

It depends on how the exe deals with the arguments. Some do honor escape characters, some not.....
Afaik, there is no difference regarding the System Exec in development environment vs. exe. But it is possible, that these are executed using different user rights?

I attempted to do a system recovery on my Laptop using the included recovery discs and got this error 0x400110020000100B. THe disc looked pretty beat so last week I ordered a new set. Now when I got to put disc 2 in (at 80% complete) I get the same error.  I called customer support and he took me through the F9 process to no avail and I've also tried the F11 approach which got me no where.  I'm frustrated because I really don;t have the money for a new laptop.

you may need to check the transfer structures,
right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,
click 'transfer', move the 0BASE_UOM from left to right side,
or if you wont use the comm structure anymore, you can right click infosource and 'delete comm structure'

  • Windows Vista/Service Pack 2-after performing a System Recovery my Hard Drive is full.

I would like to thank you in advance for your patience.  I am new to this forum solution method.  I will do my best to explain what is happening with my computer without too much unnecessary information.
My laptop is 2 yrs old and it all these error messages started popping up repeatedly.  Windows Defender wouldn't open, system info errors, I/E crashes and so on.  After numerous attempts to fix it myself,  I asked Microsoft support for the solution.     M/S Tech Support instructed me to perform a System Recovery, through the startup/F-11 method and so I did.  I followed all of M/S instructions and to skip the step for making a set of Backup disks, as well as the Recovery Manager's steps to complete the recovery.  After all was done I noticed that all my personal files, (pic's, music, etc...),  were gone and that my Hard Drive is out of space.  I did a Disk Cleanup and defrag on both the C: and D: drives hoping that it would solve my problem.  NOT!!!  I have been looking through all the "Trouble shooting" support topics on both MS and HP.  I have been afraid of doing any of the MANY suggested steps for fear of causing more damage.  The computer, except for the D: drive delima and Windows Defender not opening,  seems to function properly, so I look at that as the real blessing in all this.
Please help me by telling me that there is a way to fix the Hard drive and get Windows Defender to respond.  Most importantly, how to go about getting it done.  I just don't know how or why this happened.
Thank you so much for your help.  Nice to know that there are web sites and forums like these to go to for help.  I look I look forward to your response.

This excerpt taken from HP manual for your computer.
On some models, you can perform a recovery from the partition on the hard drive from either the Start
button or f11. This restores the computer to it's factory condition.
To restore the system from the partition, follow these steps:
    1. Access Recovery Manager in either of the following ways:
    ● Select Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager.
    – or –
    ● Restart the computer and press f11 while the “Press <F11> for recovery” message is displayed
on the screen. Then select Recovery Manager.
    Recovery Manager opens.
    2. Click Advanced Options.
    3. Click System recovery, and then click Next.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions
Does this sound like what you did?
Oh yeah, Your D:\ drive is your Recovery partition and you should never mess with it.
It contains all the information to restore your computer to factory condition.

  • Windows 8 Recovery failed; Error code: 0xc000000f

    Hi,
I am having some trouble with my HP Envy m6 laptop.
I was using Windows 8 pro for almost a year without having any problem. After installing Win8.1 Pro, I had trouble booting and called in HP support and conducted a System Recovery. Everything was good but system was slower.
So, I backed up all data and then proceeded to do a Factory Reset (with HP Recovery Manager) with my HP Recovery DVDs which I have burned earlier. Everything seems to be working fine however the restoration failed (Incomplete restoration)! Tried couple of times but same problem.
While conducting some self-tests, 'Memory Test' (under Run-In Test) failed with "FAILURE ID: RGCD5F-6G56SV-XV7X0K-406803".
At the end, got following error:
    "Recovery

    Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacture."
I tried to reach HP Support since still have warrenty but unfortunately I just wasted my time talking to them. I purchased my laptop from Canada but currently living in Australia which made it really difficult to communicate with them.
Can anyone please give me some idea what I needed to do to resolve this issue? I went through several articles in here but failed to get the correct ones. Most of them are for Windows 7 and there are many differences in Windows 8!
I am urgently requesting some assistance from a HP expert who has experience dealing similar issues.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,

The failure ID that you have provided for the memory test means that the Checksum has failed. This means that it is not finding a part that should be available, but is not showing. After taking a look into the issue of the memory test failing, the most likely cause of the failure is one memory modules has failed. I have included a link to another HP Forum thread here. Please follow the steps that DavidPK has outlined.
For the recovery error message that you are getting, this means that an integral component used during startup can not be found. This error should resolve itself once the memory Checksum error is resolved.
