Windows 7 taskbar covers maximized iTunes window

My windows 7 task bar covers maximized iTunes window since updating to 10.4. There is no way to access the menu when maximized. I know I can restore the window with alt + F4, but its annoying. My task bar is located in the upper part of the screen.

i have been having the same issue but my taskbar in on the left. i can move the window and just have to drag it an inch right each time.

  • ITunes doesn't import CDs without minimizing, then maximizing iTunes window

According to the instructions I found after digging through many help files and tutorials, I was led to believe I could open iTunes, insert a CD, then a CD icon would appear on the left, and I can then click on Import CD. Not so. I open iTunes, insert a CD, and nothing happens. However if I then minimize and maximize the iTunes window, which I discovered after an hour of putzing around, it THEN recognizes the CD and I can import it. When it's finished and I insert another CD, I again must min/max the window before it recognizes the new CD. ALSO, if I min/max the iTunes window while it's importing, the import is aborted and I have to start over. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

  • Windows vista home premium iTunes window size doesn't fit properly

I am using windows vista home premium. In iTunes when I maximize the iTunes window, it doesn't fit the screen, it is a little too big and I cannot see the side scroll bar. To fix it, I have to restore the window, manually modify the size and the maximize it. Is there a fix to this? Or is an unknown little bug?

Have you checked the HP Website and Microsoft Support websites to see if they have any solutions to your problem? Since there could be multiple things causing this, I would check at the places I mentioned first and see if their knowledge base contains an answer.

  • ITunes window is gone

    Hi!
I have a problem with iTunes: it's main window is gone. Only minimized window is shown, when I maximize it - no window.
Removing com.apple.iTunes.plist, logout/login both did not help.

Did you upgrade to 8.1 or are you still using 8.0? If not using 8.1 -- DON'T UPGRADE!! You'll have even more problems!!!
I have not had this problem with itunes, but I have had problems with a few other apps like this.
One wack thing to try is this... With the iTunes window minimized -- go to your System preferences -- or your menu bar if you have displays showing -- and choose displays control panel. Change the resolution of your displays to a higher (acceptable resolution for your monitor)- the higher the better. If you are already maxed on resolution then if you are using two monitors -- change the configuration of them by switching the primary monitor to the oppopsite one. Then go back to iTunes and maximize the window again. If still nothinig try this--- Open the Expose'& Spaces control panel and set Expose' keys for All windows to the F2 key or something you can remember -- set the Application windows key to F3 -- exit the Expose' control panel and then press the F2 key to look for the maximized iTunes window -- if nothing press the F3 key to display Application windows -- if still nothing not sure what else to try.

  • Why is iTunes window open in every mission control window

I have a 27" iMac with the latest Mac OS and the latest version of iTunes. I have my iTunes library installed on an external Hard Drive. When I open iTunes, every mission control window has an open iTunes window? 10 screens 10 open iTunes windows? This is very annoying! How can I fix this so only one iTunes window is open on one mission control screen?

    Hey llsorens,
Thanks for the question.  Take a look at the resource for Mission Control below.  It sounds like in your Mission Control preferences, you have the options set to All Desktops, which means the application (iTunes) will appear in every space.
OS X Yosemite: Work in multiple spaces
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18757?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US
    Assign apps to spaces
If you assign an app to a particular space, it opens in that space by default.
Press and hold an app’s icon in the Dock. You may have to first open the app from Launchpad to see its icon in the Dock.
From the shortcut menu that appears, do one of the following:
Have the app open in the current space: Choose Options > This Desktop.
The app appears only in that space. However, if you open the app in full screen, it appears in its own space.
Have the app open in the current space on a specific display: Choose Options > Desktop on Display [number].
Have the app open in every space: Choose Options > All Desktops.
The app appears in every space.
Have the app open in whichever space you’re using at the time: Choose Options > None.
In Mission Control preferences, you can also specify that, when you switch to an app, your desktop should switch to a space with open windows for that app. To open Mission Control preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Mission Control.
    Hope that helps ...

  • ITunes window keeps coming forward

I've just installed 11.1.3.8 for Windows 7 and the iTunes window keeps coming forward, overriding any other windows present. It seems to be in 1-2 minute intervals. I can't even type this properly without iTunes popping up. Any help?

  • ITunes window will not open

I can play iTunes but the main window will not appear. It isn't minimized or hidden. The program is open and functioning, menus are there, Equalizer opens OK, but I just can't view any music (or the Visualizer UNLESS I'm in Full Screen mode under View). Using 8.0.2 with Mac OS 10.4.11 and I have no idea why it started happening. I launched iTunes and the window just never opened. Any ideas?

    Mike,
Several people have found the iTunes window almost off the bottom of the screen. Use the  menu to hide or move the dock and see if you can see the iTunes window and drag it back on the screen.
You could also try using Exposé (typically the function 9 key) to show all windows. If the iTunes window is exposed, click in it.
You can try using system preferences -> displays to change your display resolution and you might find it.
Lastly, if you are using Spaces, is it in another space?

  • ITunes window won't appear, can't sync iPhone

iTunes opens, and I can open the EQ window, but not the iTunes window. If I drag and drop a mp3 file onto the icon, the file plays. Additionally, I can no longer sync my iPhone without the window. I havent tried re-installing or anything. I am wondering what that may do to my iPhone. Help please!

I found the answwer in another post.
the window was beneath my dock. My daughter maybe?????

  • Windows taskbar not showing when iTunes window at full screen.

I have my taskbar unlocked so it hides when I am not moused over it. I just downloaded 10.5 and when I have the iTunes window maximized I cannot get the taskbar to appear. I have to press the Windows key in order for it to show.

I, too, have the same issue with Win 7 64 bit and iTunes 10.5 and I'm grateful to find I'm not alone or imagining this! I'm also grateful for the reminder from DiscoBiscuitz13 to use the Windows key. Love to have a solution to this annoyance but I'm afraid it'll be to revert to a previous version....

  • ITunes Taskbar Cause Windows Taskbar Missing

When I switched on the iTunes taskbar in WindowsXP, it covered my ordinary Windows taskbar (the part which you see what program is running in the background). Being unable to resize them and make them to fit with each other and coexist, I switched off the iTunes taskbar, hoping to get my Windows taskbar back, unfortunately, it seems to be gone with iTunes taskbar and it is just gone.
Now I have to keep using Alt-Tab to switch between programs, which is a serious problem.
Please help me out or my next avenue of solution may be erasing my current HDD with previous image.
    Thanks!

I have a related problem; see this discussion. I've never had the iTunes taskbar turned on, but after playing a video in full screen my tasbar will often disappear--not hidden, genuinely gone. (Note that, unlike alanngli, this is fixed for me after restart; also, the fix the user in the link describes--turning on and off auto-hide--brings the taskbar back. This might help your situation, alanngli. But still it would be nice not to have to keep doing that!)

  • ITunes 9.0 toolbar in the Windows Taskbar doesn't work anymore

Anyone else having this problem? The iTunes window disappears and the usual toolbar interface shows on the taskbar but the controls have no functionality. You click them and nothing happens - you can't even get the normal iTunes window back unless you have the system tray icon on. Worked before with iTunes 8 and it seems to be a problem all versions of Windows. I've tried it on XP, Vista and 7 and they all had the same problem.

This can happen if the iTunes COM interface is not registered. To fix this, follow these steps
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Navigate to where iTunes.exe resides on the hard disk:
    \Program Files\iTunes
    or
    \Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    3. Right-click in the Address field at the top of the Windows Explorer window and choose Copy Address.
    4. From the Windows Start menu, type cmd in the Search field and press Enter.
XP users will need to choose Run... from the Start menu, type cmd and press Enter
    5. Type cd followed by a space (but don't press Enter)
    6. Right-click in the window and choose Paste.
    7. Press Enter.
    8. Type this:
    iTunes.exe /regserver
    9. Press enter.
    10. Open iTunes.
    Does this fix it?

  • With Firefox 35.0 maximized, my windows taskbar does not appear when I move the curser ot the bottom of the screen

With all other applications running maximized (full screen) the Windows taskbar pops up from the bottom when the cursor is moved to the bottom of the screen, but now with Firefox. Why not, and how do I fix this?

Are you in fullscreen or maximized for Firefox?
There is an entry that show toolbars when in fullscreen you can check if its on in the about:config page, but if you have never been there before do not worry about this troubleshooting step. (I do not know if you have or not :-))
With those hypothesis it is possible to see if this happens in Safe Mode if you have any add ons or extensions that may affect this feature: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]

  • ITunes controls hide behind Windows taskbar

I have my Windows taskbar in a locked position on top of my screen, but whenever i maximize iTunes (10,4.080)  it 'slides' under the taskbar. This way the control buttons in iTunes are hidden behind the taksbar. Does anyone know how to fix this without having to auto-hide the taskbar?

    Same problem here.
I can get a temporary fix if I move the taskbar to the bottom (the 'default' position) and resize the iTunes window a few times.  Then I move the taskbar back to the top and then maximize iTunes and it sometimes works.
Needless to say, it shouldn't be necessary to do this kind of thing at all.  I never had this silly issue in any previous version of iTunes.  Come on Apple, you can do better.

  • Firefox Windows taskbar tab cannot minimize by clicking it but can be maximized

I can open Firefox, and everything works fine. The problem is that when I minimize Firefox by clicking on the Firefox tab in the Windows Taskbar, it can be minimized but when I click on it again it won't maximize, instead I have to bring Firefox back up by right clicking the tab and pressing "maximize".
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Just today....haven't changed or downloaded or deleted anything.

I do set it as floating. I mean if I can see a part of the VI window, I could active it to the frontend by the click the window. But if I cannot see it, I cannot take it to the frontend by clicking the tab at the taskbar.

  • Keep iTunes Window from Maximizing

I pay music while I'm working. My playlist includes a few videos and whenever one of them plays, the iTunes window maximizes to display the video, right over the window for the application in which I am working. I can find lots of discussions on how to keep videos on top. My problem is the opposite. How can I keep the videos from disrupting my work by just playing in the minimized window?

I have been struggling to find the setting to impliment the same behavior.  I don't know why it is so difficult to implement.  The idea that a program "minimized" by the user - REMAIN - minimized until the user instructs otherwise is pretty atrocious behavior.  Shame on you Apple.
