Windows 7 with IE 9, portal patch issue..

Hello,
My portal version is : 7.00 SP20
Seems there is an issue with portal on Windows 7 with IE 9. Please let me know whether we need any upgradation or updation of patch or anything ?

Can you see or play any Flash content?  Does YouTube work for you?  What troubleshooting steps have you taken?  Can you try Google Chrome and see if that makes any difference?
Thanks,
Chris

    Hi Brad.
I could activate the SAP * user and then was able to access the portal, as i told , Using CPPO tool somehow changed the database values and we lost content since there was no backup for that day.
    Thanks for your tips .

  • Authentication issues on Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 (Crystal 2008)

    Hi,
We are in the process of migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7 (with Internet Explorer 8).
I have noticed that a web application which depends on Crystal 2008 is behaving differently in the new environment. For example, when I try to load a report I get this error:
Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it.
I know that this error can be caused by a permissions problem on the Windows temp folder, and I know there are various ways of pinpointing the exact permissions problem and various ways of resolving if that's the case. The fix that worked for us in Windows XP does not seem to work in Windows 7. My gut feeling is that IE is passing credential in some way differently from how it did before.
Since many aspects of security are so different in Windows 7 compared with XP, I was hoping to find some general guidelines from SAP/Crystal re: how to deploy or configure the client/server in this environment.
Are there any general guidelines available?
Thank you for any help... shannon

    Hi Shannon,
Not really, CR assumes it can access all of it's dependencies so it is a permission issue. Other than the usual config issues with IIS, full access to the      emp folder, full permissions on the Viewer folder, setting the framework in App pool correctly, etc.
Do you have Service Pack 3 installed for Cr 2008 and the latest Fix Pack 3.5?

  • Windows 7 with Boot Camp issues

    Hi,
I have a Macbook early 2008 model, with 10.5, which apparently has boot camp 2.0 installed on it. Despite this, I managed to install Windows 7 64-bit on it, without issue, until I tried to install all the bootcamp drivers for stuff like the trackpad and the function buttons. It turns out that the only way to get the drivers for 64-bit windows 7 is by updating to bootcamp 3.1, which you can't do if you have 2.0 (not totally sure about that), because the OS X cd which should install the drivers, doesnt work for windows 7 64-bit. As far as I can see, you can't download the drivers from apple without the cd, and to use the downloads you do have, I would need bootcamp 3.1, which would require purchasing snow leaopard, and completely reinstalling my entire system (which would be an enormous pain). Is there any way around this? Can I download the drivers independently? The only thing I need to be honest is two-finger right clicking, because I don't use windows much, and that is pretty essential...
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
you can buy Snow Leopard for about USD 29 but you don't have to install OSX Snow Leopard in order to install the updated BootCamp Drivers from it.
Since the BootCamp Drivers are on a seperate 'partition' on the OSX DVD (better said the OSX DVD is an OSX/Windows-hybrid disc) you can just install the BootCamp Drivers from it.

  • SM Portal display issue while creating incident classification with child items

    Hii,,
We need to create some incident classification with child items. After creating classification with child items, portal is not showing the classification properly and the page display not showing properly. i.e. showing a block with drop down instead of simple
drop down as same as for urgency. Please find the snapshot and suggest..
    Regards, Syed Fahad Ali

The portal flattens those lists, so sadly this is normal behaviour. I would assume it sorts the list according to ordinal which means you may be able to atleast get a list in the correct order.
    ex. Ordinal in paranthesis
    1. Hardware (1)
    1.1 Printers (3)
    2. Software (2)
    2.1 Windows (4)
I would expect this list to be flattened into
    Hardware
    Software
    Printers
    Windows
You see? In order to edit ordinal you would have to edit the list manually in XML. Tons of ressources on how to do that.

  • I installed lv 6.1 on a windows 98 system. As I am having problems of stability (much more than with the former release 6.0), I would like to know if there is some specific problem with windows 98 or there is some patch.

I installed lv 6.1 on a windows 98 system. As I am having problems of stability (frequent crashes, much more than with the former release 6.0), I would like to know if there is some specific problem with windows 98 or there is some patch available.

My experience with Win98 is that it is not a very stable system, regardless of software used. For example, Win2000 and XP are far more stable than 98. I've had it crash on its own if I leave the computer on for several days.
I wouldn't recommend running programs for long time (few days) on this OS.
This being said, can you be more specific in your question. What kind of stability problems did you have, which VIs did you run (if possible post them here), did you change the interrupts and priority levels on those VI, do you get error messages or blue screen....

  • UWL: headerless portal window launches with improper column justification

    Hello,
We are running Portal 7.0, for our ECC 5.0 and SRM 4.0 production systems.
When managers execute an item from their Universal Worklist, such as an absence notification, a new headerless portal window is launched.
All of the viewable data should appear in the right column of the newly launched window.
However, the window launches with a display that hides 90% of the right column, and the only way to view the data is to drag the column line back to the left side.
Specifically,I think that it is tied to a column width property of the new headerless portal window; however, I am not sure where that can be edited from.  I am looking at System Administration>System Configuration tab, and then Universal Worklist - Administration>Universal Worklist Configuration Content.   I can view the XML content, but it is not clear which of the multiple "launchInNewWindow" lines is the one responsible for our viewing problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Joyce

In case anyone else ever has this problem, here is the solution:
The problem was a bug that was fixed in the Basis Support Package SAPKB64018.

Lots of weblogs are pointing to remote_user value in IisProxy.log file. I am not able to see that.
I also tried switching IIS 6 to run as IIS 5 and did not help much at all.
Please help me on the issue.
I did not change authschemes.xml file.

  • Intermittent response of the trackpad in Windows 7 with Bootcamp 3.0

    Hi all,
I have a problem with the trackpad (in macbook air). In Windows 7 with bootcamp 3.0, sometimes (more often after waking up from sleep) the trackpad does not response smoothly. It intermittently stops responding a few seconds and works again. When I plug in a USB mouse and use it, there is no such problem with the USB mouse. This problem only happens with the trackpad. I suspect this problem is caused by the bootcamp driver with Windows 7. Is there anybody who has the same problem?
    Cheers,

    Force a chkdsk
    chkdsk C: /f
Change "C" to what your system drive is.
Boot from your system disk for Windows if it still happens.
Next step is to scan for bad blocks, then move on to recertify the drive.
But I would not be using the drive, and unless it is totally benign and erroneous, looking for a patch or fix. Definitely not from Windows Update.
I've had drives that really should be certified and extended test - in Windows - to look for bad sectors before using or installing a system.
If it is an issue with dual-boot and you shrunk Vista to make room, EasyBCD along with Windows DVD might help.
If something is interferring with shutdown and not writing out changes that are cached, might look in that direction.
Last, if you upgraded from Vista, maybe a custom clean install again. Backup your data with Windows Easy Transfer first and reinstall system and apps afterwards.
Maybe Windows backup image and restore, or Norton Ghost 15 comes out tomorrow. Not sure I'd trust WinClone, Windows 7 made changes, and there is now a 100MB system recovery partition... which I'm surprised it doesn't automatically ask to use.

  • MAPIResolveName on Windows 7 with Crystal 11 and 2008

    Hi
I am using Crystal 11 on Windows 7, when utilising the MAPI export functionality provided by Crystal I receive an error relating to MAPIResolveName, which after some searching appears to be an obsolete MAPI function from previous versions of Windows. I have tested this under Windows 7 with both Crystal Reports Writer 11 and Crystal Reports Writer 2008, and get an identical error with both.
As this is an issue with the implementation of MAPI within Crystal, I was wondering if you have a fix for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gaz

Update to the final patches levels:
CR XI R2 - Service Pack 6 and then Fix Pack 6.2 ( need to get this manually sent )
CR 2008 - Service Pack 2 and then [Fix Pack 2.6|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100004723372010E/cr2008fp26.exe]
                   - [Service Pack 3 full build|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/sapidp/012002523100009989492010E/cr2008_sp3_fullbuild.zip] and then [Fix Pack 3.1|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/sapidp/012002523100010605962010E/cr2008sp3_fp31.exe]
                   - Service Pack 3 [incremental|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123572010E/cr2008_sp3.exe]
It is in all of the main code streams now so should not be an issue going forward unless new updates to are done to MAPI which is out of our control.

  • CHKDSK intermittent launching on booting (Windows 7 with Bootcamp 3.0)

    Hi fella,
I recently downgraded from Windows 7 to Vista SP2 because my MBA had struggled with an annoying problem: Windows 7 with Bootcamp 3.0 intermittently launches CHKDSK on booting. I tested XP and Vista and realized that this problem happens only on Windows 7. I assume that Bootcamp 3.0 has a problem with Windows 7 in terms of managing GPT partition table (or maybe Windows 7 bug?). I hope this problem is solved in the next update of Bootcamp 3.X (for Windows 7) and would wait for an official release of the update. Anybody experienced the same problem?

We also saved the xml file on both the Portal.war and PSIGW.war directories.
