Windows 7 Won't load on MacBook Pro 17"

I am on my second day of trying to load Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro 3.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of ram. I've tried installing on to an external hard drive and I have tried to install in using boot camp but I get the same error with both, Windows cannot be loaded because of drivers.I have been all over the web looking for intel drivers, chipsets, or any other drivers that might work with no luck. I've even loaded my OS X 10.6 disk in a windows machine and copied the drivers over to an external. I have had Windows XP using Boot Camp and refuse to go to Windows Vista. Any Advice would be great.

You have not provided, for me, anything to go by.
You can't install Windows on a Mac except with Boot Camp Assistant if you want to retain Mac OS.
You cannot install on external drives.
You can install Windows 7 only, take over the entire internal hard drive.
Boot Camp Assistant can fail or refuse to partition if there is not enough free contiguous (unfragmented) free space or if there are files that cannot be moved. In which case you may need to boot from another hard drive and buy iPartition and/or iDefrag; or, use Disk Utility and totally erase and restore from backups.
And most of that is in the Boot Camp PDF:
http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp - tech articles, how to, troubleshooting, and of course, the Guide in PDF format.

  • Facebook won't load on Macbook pro with 10.8

Facebook won't load on Macbook pro with Mountain lion on a small homw network at home
I am on a wifi Network. Girlfirend's Macbook got no problem with Facebook on the same network (she got snow leopard installed)
Facebook WILL load when i connect my computer directly to the the modem, bypassing the router.
Facebook will load when i use Windows 7 on VMWARE.
    What i already tried:
    1- Reset the router
2- cleaning caches on all the browsers i'm using (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
Never had that problem with 10.7
Mystery, don't know what i should do except reinstalling Mountain lion...
    Any idea?

Edge Inspect desktop has no UI and only Inspect icon will be visible in the menu bar. Also, you need to be logged in with Adobe ID in the app.

  • Itunes store won't load for macbook pro.

I try to connect to the Itunes store - the status bar at the top loads all the way up; then I just get a blank screen. It seems others have experienced the same issue. There is some answer out there involving "netsh winsock reset" but the step by steps are all for windows/pc users. I contacted apple support, but I am not paying 20.00 for an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

    @kyle_roy
thanks for that solution, because it worked for me too! (macbook pro, 5,1 running OSX 10.6.8, loading with itunes 11.1.
i wanted to browse/order a movie and got the same blank screen—downloading the latest version of safari solved it.
the safari update must install an additional system components necessary for apple store to load properly. I wonder what would happen if i deleted safari since i primarily use google chrome for web browsing.
if someone knows or finds out what the new or updated system components are, please let me know in case this ever happens again.
    thanks.

  • Web pages won't load when MacBook Pro on battery power

My sister bought a MacBook Pro in January. She switched from a Dell laptop. Everything was great until a few weeks ago. When she would be on battery power, she would have a hard time getting websites to load with Safari. I suggested she use Firefox and see if it made a difference. It didn't.
She can try to open a webpage and it will try to load for a long time (3-5 minutes). If she plugs in the power adapter, the page loads immediately. She still has her Dell laptop and the same websites load with no problem when using the Dell on battery.
I told her to call Apple since she has Applecare. Apple sent her a new battery even though they told her they didn't think it was that. It didn't make any difference. They told her it was her internet connection, but it works fine if the MacBook Pro is hooked up to the power adapter and her Dell laptop loads internet pages without any problem while on battery power. Then they tried to tell her just to use the power adapter all the time. She told them if she wanted to be tied down to a power adapter she would have bought a desktop. (Not a very good comment by Apple in my opinion.)
She doesn't live close to an Apple Store to take it in.
This is just the weirdest thing I have ever heard of. All of her other applications (Office, Photoshop, iTunes, etc.) run just fine on battery power. It is just the internet. At first I thought it might just be secure sites, like banking, but she couldn't get MacNN or Versiontracker to load while on battery power.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

You'll probably find an Airport aerial issue. Does she find that Airport reception (a better guide is shown in Internet Connect) will drop dramatically when she disconnects power? If so contact AppleCare again and give them this information under the same case number she wuold have gotten when they replaced the battery.

  • Windows Project won't open on Macbook Pro

    Hello,
I been home on springbreak and have been working on a highlight film for my high school. I have it all saved on my External HD includings the clips, intros, highlights, images. Then I go to open it in premeire CS4 on my macbook pro and the files are all missing and offline. Any idea how to open my file on my macbook?

I don't do Mac... but in the Windows world, people have problems moving a project from one computer to another if the EXACT PATH is not the same
For Windows, that would mean that the project file would need to point to (example here) H:\Project1\File1.AVI on both computers... which means the external drive must be seen by Windows as H on both computers
Going from Windows to Mac, with potentially different KINDS of file paths, you may have a hard time relinking those files

  • The Sims 3 won't load on MacBook Pro 2012

I recently just got a new MacBook Pro and I had my Sims 3 game from when it first came out.  However, the game isn't being recognized by the computer.  The case shows that the game is compatible with Windows and Mac.  I heard if you install to Windows you can't install to Mac right?  I'm confused.  Does this mean I need to go buy a new game?

  • Gmail folders won't load on Macbook Pro Retina

I've just bought a brand new Macbook Pro Retina. I've transfered all files / settings over from my old macbook pro using Time Machine, but for some reason I'm unable to view any emails I have filed in Mail (I have a Gmail account), and when I file any new emails they don't appear in my folders.
They do show up on Gmail webmail in the files I've moved them to - the only issue is that they don't appear on Mail.
    Can anyone help?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Adobe air won't load, on macbook pro

I have an early 2011 Macbook pro, all was well till I tried to download latest Mac User on Zinio reader. This worked when I reopened zinio to read it
it crashed. Have tried, even took machine to Apple store, all attempts to download adobe air fail. Does anyone have a fix????

I'm assuming you have one of the MBP's with a discrete GPU? If so, there is a known issue with Adobe Air and MBPs with discrete GPUs. In order to get Air-related things to run without crashing, you must go to:
    System Preferences > Energy Saver
From there, uncheck "Automatic Graphics Switching."
Adobe Air should now work properly.

  • 1.5 won't load on MacBook Pro

I'm trying to update Aperture 1.1.2 to 1.5 on my MacBook Pro. I've got the Academic version of Aperature. But when I try to update, the updater tells me I have to have Aperture installed. I do. What gives?
I tried repairing all permissions, but it doesn't help.
    Aperature is working fine.

Not sure for sure because I just read it rather than
experienced it myself but it is my understanding that
the Academic version does not qualify for free
    upgrades.
So you might be stuck with what you have - try
    calling Applecare and see...
Not true. Academic versions and retail versions are exactly the same regarding the software. The only difference is price.

  • Printer Drivers won't load on Macbook Pro

I just purchased a canon image class d530, and when I try to load the driver I get the error message "Cannot install on this version of the operating system you are using". It says it should work for Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later and I have Mac OS X 10.10.1. What can I try to get a driver to load so the printer is usable with my computer?

Not using Boot Camp, but you should be able to using virtualization software such as Parallels to run Windows concurrently with OS X.

  • Warning: Don't install Windows 7 64-bit on Older MacBook Pros

I totally hosed my machine by installing Windows 7 64 bit on a MacBook Pro that Apple has not deemed to be okay with running Snow Leopard in 64-bit. I have a Core 2 Due, which is fully 64-bit. Windows 7 64-bit runs perfectly on a MacBook Pro, but Apple's Snow Leopard can only handle 32-bits. Crazy.
I'm guessing Windows 7 updated the MacBook Pro's EFI to 64 bit, which since my Firmware hasn't been updated, can't recognize or load. Some I'm stuck.
Does anyone know how to return a 64 bit efi back to its original 32 bit version? I've been forced to reinstall Snow Leopard, hopefully the Disk Image I created will be able to bring back my data, otherwise I'm screwed and really ******.

I don't think Windows 7 would normally modify your Guid Partition Table, but Boot Camp
(particularly the later versions) is rapidly gaining a nasty reputation for hosing partition maps.
    Test Disk might could help:
    http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
You will need to boot it in firewire mode (if supported) or from an external clone.
I hope your disk image is good. Rule of thumb for OS Disk Images:
    Make them sparseimage or sparsebundle, do not compress, and last but not least;
Make 2 of them. Just some friendly advice.
I have yet to see anyone repair a defective, compressed, UDIF disk image. I have
successfully repaired sparse UDSP/UDSB images using either disk utility and/or Disk Warrior
and/or iPartition or some combination of the three.
I'm not against disk images, to the contrary, I use them almost exclusively for backup lately.
I mount them, then place a clone or data on them using Carbon Copy Cloner or Chronosync.
Of course I only use UDSP/UDSB uncompressed images.

Open Media Encoder and add your Sequences:
File > Add Premiere Pro Sequence
Navigate to your Premiere Project and select it in the list.
You can then select multiple Sequences from the Project (Ctrl+Click)
and load them all at once into Media Encoder and apply
the same encoding preset to all Sequences at the same time.
