Dear Sirs,
I try to do an authorization to my NW 7.3 Java instance through my Windows domain authorization.
I done:
1) Create connection to LDAP-server and tested it.
2) Add windows domain certificate to TrustedCAs
3) Configure SPnego
Now, I can to login in my NW7.3 Java instance with my windows password, but however I must to input password when I open NW7.3 Java homepage.
Is it possible to login into the Java instance without password's input, using my windows workstation login/password?
What I have to do for that?
I use Windows XP on my workstation and IE 8.0.6 & Chrome 38.0.2125.

How do you bypass windows workstation login
I have a computer lab that I run win XP and running Novell Client and after you enter the Novell log in and password, the windows workstation asks for a log in and password as well. I would like to bypass the second log in to avoid confusion with k-2 students. Any solutions for this issue.

create a local account with the same name as the Novell login...and then you
can sync the passwords...at the first windows logon there is a check box to
sync the network password with the local login password. fron that point
forward the login to the windows workstation wiull happen automatically...

Cisco ISE windows workstation endpoint profiling
Hi all,
i am configuring cisco ISE to autenticate wireless clients using 802.1x . AP's are all lightweight managed by a cisco 5508 WLC . I would like to discriminate users accessing that wlan using mobile phones or tablet from users connecting using windows workstations. ISE profiles all mobile devices in the right way, iphones and ipad are profiled as apple devices and even MAC OSX devices are profiled correctly. The problem is that all windows workstation are profiled as unknown devices. In ISE i'm using windows workstation default profile configuration.
what can i check to make windows workstation profile working correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Regardsi noticed that default profile for microsoft workstations uses dhcp probe to profile devices, so i solved the issue adding in our core switch, to the vlan interface used to tag dot1x wireless lan, ise ip address as ip helper-address. I don't know if that is the best solution or there's something i can do on WLC to avoid adding ip helper-address on vlan interface but this worked for me.
Thanks to all for helping me.

User can't authenticate...auth-failed/windows workstation not allowed
Keep on running into an odd problem. I have some users logging in via soft vpn connection. Yesterday, they were able to log in without a problem. Today they are getting 01/31/2007 08:09:21
Authen failed
Windows workstation not allowed .. ..
Why can they authenticate 1 day and then be denied. This happened last week as well. The server adminstrator seemed to think it was a user setup issue and gave them another user account. Now as you can see above, the same thing has happened. I don't get it. Any help would be appreciated. For ACS to perform Windows authentications we need to specifiy a workstation name.
In AD , the user should have access to all computers.
OR
A computer account named CISCO should exist.
All users that Windows will authenticate have permission to log in to the computer named CISCO.
ACS shows this error message only when the user tries to login from a work station he has no permission to log on.
If you are using ACS 4.1 this link will be useul.

Printing attached to windows workstation - can't print from mac
Here is my setup:
I am trying to print to a Canon MF6500 printer attached via USB to a Windows XP Pro computer in a Windows 2003 SBS environment. I enabled Unix printing, set the printer up for sharing and installed the Mac driver on my computer. I went to "add printer," then "windows printing" and found the workstation with the target printer, however nothing was available to select.
I then added the printer to the server hoping that I could just share it from the server, but I got the same result - no printers to add.
So as a last ditch effort, I installed the 3rd party App DAVE. I opened the "Dave Printers List" and it actually found the printer, but I could not find the driver now. The Canon driver is in the list of drivers (as I can see it when searching for Bonjour/appletalk printers), but not there when searching for other printers. So I can add the printer, but I can only use a generic print driver.
Anyway, here is my question: How do I add the printer without using DAVE (if possible) with it's correct driver? If not possible, how do I add the printer using the correct driver with DAVE? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thankshave you resolved your problem? Please forward me any tips that you may have received.
I have a new iMac with OS X V 10.4.10 - all software is up to date.
I have a HP OJ 7680 linked into my airport network through Bonjur. When I try to print, Word (and all other applications) tell me to select a printer, I select the HP OJ 7680 (designated as a Bonjur printer) and my iMac instantly tries to install the printer. After about 5 - 10 minutes the install fails.
Where can I get help on this? Doesn't apple offer any on-line or phone customer service? -
Wireless Apple TV to wired Windows workstation
Greetings,
I have an Apple TV 3 that is connected to my wireless network that is provided by my Airport Express. Everything works great when streaming from the Internet. What I am having an issue with is connecting via Home Sharing to my wired Windows 7 workstation. I have followed all of the troubleshooting steps, but it still cannot seem to see the library. To make things more interesting, when I connect my Windows 8 laptop (different machine) via wireless to my network and turn on iTunes Home Sharing, the Apple TV can see the Win 8 library AND the Win 7 library.
I am using an Apple TV 3 connected wirelessly to an Airport Express. The Windows 7 workstation is connected via Ethernet to a desktop switch. The desktop switch is connected via Ethernet to my Comcast SMC cable modem/router (I firmly believe this device is the issue). The Airport Express is connected via Ethernet to the same SMC cable modem/router.
I have tried turning off all firewalls. I can connect to the Airport Express from the Windows 7 workstation via the Airport Utility, but only by manually entering the IP address, it cannot seem to scan the network and find it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pinpoint the issue; and/or, fix the SMC device to get it out of the way?
Thank you in advance. I appreciate your time.

Temp Directories being created C:\ of Windows Workstations
Everyone,
I know I have seen this asked before but I can't find the threads containing the question and/or answers......
Our one and only ZCM Server started life 11.2 and has progressed all the way to 11.2.4 (no monthly updates). I have noticed on all Computer's, temp folders (ie. C:\3a3480522db0eaefc4c9e9, etc.) are created in the root directory during any bundle deployment and never removed. Also a folder similar to {4bb8218c-aebf-4113-882f-b10ae15c8218} exist in the root directory. Workstations are Win 7 - 64 bit. I believe the folder are suppose to be elsewhere but I have no idea what setting I set/changed moved them to the root of the C:\ nor do I know where to change that location back to the default.
Any guidance in resolving this issue would be appreciated!Pwolff2000,
the temp directories are created by windows updates, not ZENworks (unless you're deploying patches!). As for the other directory, a quick search of the knowledgebase will show you http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7009965

How to set up roaming profile on Macs using AD like in windows
I can bind the workstations to the domain fine.. But can someone direct me to instructions of how to set up the roaming profiles ?
What steps do I need on the server ? This is what I've done so far.
I already have OU's for the departments and the users have a shared folder inside their department folder.... \\server\shared_folder\user
I have done the usual things with AD as far as the profile settings on the windows server.
Am currently running Mac OS 10.5 and above
My windows AD runs on windows server 2008
All my windows workstation are able to use roaming profile without a problem.
So far i have tried the so many avenues including..
Make sure the Mac systems are joined to the domain controller and an ADS user can log on successfully. Use "Directory Utility" under "Utilities" menu to join the system to the domain.
Backup all the contents from /Users to the storage or somewhere locally.
Configure automount - Go to "Utilities" -> "Directory Utility" - Select the domain and click "Show advanced options" - Click "Mounts" tab and add automount as mentioned below. Remote NFS URL: nfs://server_name/share_name/path/to/profile/directory Mount location: /Users Additional mount parameters: -P,-T Apply the settings and this will mount the remote shared folder or we can name it as Roaming Profile Space - under /Users directory
Enable roaming profile - Go to "Utilities" -> "Directory Utility" - Select the domain and click "Show advanced options" - Click "Services" -> Select "Active Directory" and click "Show advanced option" - Click "User experience" tab and select the option "Create mobile account at login".
Reboot the system and log in as any ADS user. The Roaming shared folder will be mounted and the user profile will be created on the shared folder
Can anyone kindly assist meHi Guys, anyone with the Soln...or Tips..Am waiting

How to run SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows and use MaxDB on linux/W
Good day,
As the subject shows we have SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 and I want to find out how to use it in combination with MaxDB instead of MS SQL. I find a lot of MaxDB stuff on the net but no guides on how to setup SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows workstations and connect them to MaxDB.
Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it ?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated .Hi,
I suggest you to check the supported server for B1 in this link:
http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms
You will know the sap b1 supported platform.
If you really want to use maxDB on linux/W as B1 server, you can send a development request to SAP AG.

Shared home folder for OSX and Windows
Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to have a shared home folder for Windows and OSX.
We have an AD and ODS. Is this possible, if it is, using CIFS?
Hope hearing from anyone
Best Regards.hallo victor,
thanks for your answer. unfortunately this does not solve my problem. my sap landscape is more complex.
there are several sap installations in diverent windows domains and some are on as/400 (and there is another windows domain) all are in different networks and are protected by firewall. furthermore there is a rule (maybe some exceptions are allowed) that there must not be qntc connections over these firewalls.
with a shared folder between a windows workstation in one network and an as/400 in another network it works fine. but as a mentioned first - there is the problem with the sapservice<sid> userid which is to long for as/400 environment. I think there must be a tricky solution (hope so).
kind regards

We have a group of 5 people editing and indexing photos to a shared drive on a windows server, everyone has its own catalog and working on different folders to avoid any locking conflicts.
The windows computers don't have any problems but the Mac's don't write the updated metadata to all files because they get the message "Photos have read-only access".
The environment is the following:
2x Macs workstations running:
- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
- iMAC with MAC OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
3x Windows Workstations:
- Windows 7
- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Server:
- Shared drive on a Windows Server 2012 Standard
I have searched the internet, no one has this problem with this exact setup but I have tried all the solutions I found, namely:
1. Connect to the network drive with cifs:// protocol
2. Change the settings of the nsmb.conf for 'smb1_only' protocol
3. Mount the drive manually by command line
Nothing worked, any ideas?Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue and wonder if Lightroom 6 will resolve it. I tried AFP, SMB2, SMB3 and they all failed to save metadata randomly. When I use NFS from OS X then it works fine but it's a little slower than SMB and it's not as native as the mount via AFP or SMB, so it's harder to maintain. My server is a FreeNAS 9.2 (FreeBSD) which is running Samba, Netatalk and native NFS.

Unfortunately, since then others have quickly stuck a pin in this balloon, finding that it is just one more bump in the road, but at least working around this coding error should change your symptom.
Good luck
