Windows 7 X64, Installing Flash Step 3 of download isn't populating to finalize install

During the download process to get the latest version of Adobe Flash, Step 1-2, work, so I am able to download and save to my computer, run file, but step 3 doesn't populate to finalize install.  The process itself is running on my CPU, and when I try to download again, I get an message: (Only a single instance of application can run).  Nothing else is available to finalize install, so it seems to be stuck on step 2.  I can not solve this solution, and need help from an expert!

It sounds like it's installed, but either the remote website isn't detecting Flash or your ActiveX filtering settings need to be adjusted to allow Flash Player to run.
I provided instructions above on how to modify the ActiveX filtering settings.  Please try those and let me know how it works out.
Internet Explorer 11 in particular introduced a number of changes to both how the browser identifies itself to remote websites (hint: it's not as Internet Explorer) and to how it processes JavaScript that would otherwise target Internet Explorer specifically.  As previous versions of Internet Explorer has a unique plug-in mechanism and method for embedded plug-ins in web pages, existing websites will need to update to conform to IE11's new expectations in many instances.  You can typically add those sites to Compatibility View as a workaround, but ultimately the site will need to update, or you'll need to use an alternate browser like Google Chrome or Firefox.

  • [TECHNOTE ANNOUNCE]  Error installing Flash Player "The download did not pass the integrity check (16236.304.443)

    All,
    I've published a new technote for folks who are having trouble with the Adobe Download Manager and Flash Player.
    Error installing Flash Player "The download did not pass the integrity check (16236.304.443)
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51258.html
    Essentially this technote links to the Windows troubleshooting technote here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166
    However, before today the Windows troubleshooting technote only had an EXE install for the ActiveX version of Flash Player 10.  I have now added a link to download the EXE version of the Flash Player Plugin installer as well.
    Please point other users with integrity check errors to the first technote.

    Thank you for the update & Tech Note Announcement. I do have a couple of questions, if you could please respond.
    After uninstalling and ready to download; reading from the link you provided on 9/4/09, Should we follow the normal download instructions
    per #2. "Flash  Player download Center" and if a successful installation is not accomplished, THEN, go to "download and unzip install_Flash_Player_10_Plugin (all other windows browsers) ? Or should the latter step be done in lieu of #2 mentioned. I am assuming the download from F.P. D.L. Center would be done first and then troubleshoot by running the EXE. version of the F.P. Plugin installer.
    Experience has taught me not to assume much, and if you don't know, ask!
    Thanks for your hard work, but you have to admit, for the technically deprived, it is frustrating and confusing.

  • I cannot watch Directtv on my computer. I run XP and have mozilla ver 32. Says i need to install flash which I download and open then nothing happens...blank b

    When attempting to watch Direct tv on my computer (runs XP) i needed to9 download a program from Direct TV which then tells me that I need to install Adobe Flash and provides a link. I get a message stating that I cannot install and refers to Internet Explorer. I then went to the Adobe website and proceeded to download flash which I did. When I clicked on the file a box came up which states install Flash but the box is empty and nothing happens. Pls help

    Hello,
    I notice in your system details that you have an outdated version of the Flash plugin for Firefox. In Firefox, can you try going to the following link and updating as appropriate:
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
    Alternatively you can go here and select Windows 7/Vista/XP/2008/2003 and Flash for Other Browsers (and deselect McAfee if you do not want that bundled in your Flash):
    * https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
    If you download Flash in Internet Explorer and not select the correct options, it might download the installer for Internet Explorer as opposed to for Firefox.

  • Install Flash Player 17 download problem

    I'm trying to install Flash Player 17 on a Mac running Yosemite, Safari 8.0.4. I've uninstalled the previous version. The installer download freezes at 25% of the download.

    This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
    If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
    1.)      Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    2.)      Download the stand-alone installer from  http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • I have been receiving notices that some web pages I visit require Flash 10, I have only flash 9. I followed Adobe's instructions about un-installing Flash 9 and downloaded Flash 10.1, which is what they recommended for my computer.

    I have a Power PC Mac running system 10.4.11. When I unziped the Flash 10.1 download It produced a Flash Player application but no installer and no info from Adobe as to what to do with it. Where should it be put? or is something missing?

    The Adobe archive I downloaded had 19 different items to chose from. I mistakingly opened the one labeled:
    flashplayer10_1r82_76_mac_sa.app.zip (This is a stand alone application for developers.)
    This did not work so I tried this one:
    flashplayer10_1r82_76_ub_mac.dmg (This opened the "Install Flash Player" which worked.)
    If I had read the "READ ME" file bast the Adobe disclaimers I might have seen this.
    Thanks again.

  • I repeatedly install Flash 11 only to be told I need to install it to view video

    After apparently successfully installing Flash 11, when I try to view video I receive a message that I need to install Flash 11.  I have uninstalled Flash 11 and tried again with the same results.  Shutting down the computer and trying again has not helped.  My computer meets the requirements for Flash 11.

    Please don't post the same question multiple times!

  • Can't Re-Install Flash Player at all and now Can't Re-install Shockwave Player

    I am helping a user who states his Flash Player vanished, when trying to download the latest version we are getting:
    error message: "Installation failed. www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166"
    The system is running Windows XP Pro and Internet Explorer 6. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and tips/tricks found here and via searching with Blackle. This user has to use all sorts of types of flash players to do his job and needs to get Adobe's running again. I have tried everything and he is NOT willing to reimage the pc yet. Can anyone help???

    Try uninstalling Flash Player first, then do a clean install
    download the FP uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157 (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
    close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
    The offline installer for Shockwave Player is here http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_In staller_Slim.exe

  • Help with installing Flash Player 10.1 in IE7

    Hello All -
    I have been having issues installing Flash Player 10.1 in IE7.  I have pretty much tried everything to install this into IE7.  I was able to install Flash Player 10.1 in Firefox with no issues at all.   I have tried to install it through the Adobe Download Manager - it downloads to 100% and then I receive a Error:Installation failed message under Progress.  I also tried to install Flash Player through the manual installer - I run that install file and then receive the error that says "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered.  In the Troubleshoot Flash Player installation page on Adobe - I have tried every single remedy that they list under this error message but to no avail.  Any ideas?  I am running Windows XP SP3 and IE7.  I also tried IE8 earlier in the day with the same result so just downgraded back to IE7.
    Thanks
    Pat

    I tried all solutions but one posted in adobe support. I am local administrator but IE security settings are set by group policies and buttons in tools security setting are grayed out.
    After three days with "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" message I tried registering the activeX control manually.
    Bingo! that made the trick.
    So open a DOS window, type "regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx" -first check if this directory exists and contains the Flash10d.ocx (no quotes needed) and you should receive a confirmation that it registered correctly.
    I must say that I've tried so many ways that I cannot repeat the correct order before this has worked ;-(
    Hope it works for you all

  • I can't install flash it says I'm vulnerable

    This morning I was told to up grade Firefox. I clicked the clickers and It seemed to work. Then I was told to adapt it to firefox. I got as far as the advice to click the end of the yellow bar. There is no yellow bar. Tonight I tried to figure it out. I found the Plug in Check window.- - At the top of the list of plugin the was the Flash "f", a red button, and a note saying "update now" I pressed the red button and the installation .began- - The little green dots ran by again -- No yellow bar.
    The flash player seems to work. I can play at least one game- I have looked in the various trouble shooting windiws
    == This morning

    Ignore the instructions about a yellow bar, they relate to old versions of Firefox.
    You can download the version of Flash Player used by Firefox from http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
    Run that file to install Flash.
    The download link came from the Adobe troubleshooting guide for installing Flash - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

  • Unable to install Flash Player as "only a single version of this application can run"

    I was having problems with Flash Player earlier today and decided to uninstall it (from Windows 7) and reinstall from scratch.  I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it but now I get the following message: Unable to install Flash Player as "only a single version of this application can run" I tried uninstalling   I checked to see if there was still a programme to install but there is not. I checked my files in Windows and there are several files called Install_Flashplayer _16x32 .............. files. I presume they were created each time I attempted to install Flash Player.  I thought of deleting the numerous Install FlashPlayer files but decided to seek help before taking this step.
    Browser: Firefox 35.0.1
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    64bit OS

    I have somehow managed to install Flash Player and it works. I deleted all the install files except one which did not want to be deleted, Then I started to install Flash Player until I got the message about conflicting applications. I then used Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager, then closed all tasks except the Flash Player one. Flash Player finished installing. I then opened a TV Player in Firefox and was able to play a programme that required a Flash Player.
    Why do I have to use Task Manager to close applications. I can't remember the last time I used it ut think it was about a year ago when my computer would not shut down.

  • Having trouble installing Flash 11.3 on Firefox

    I was having trouble upgrading to the newest version of flash. I kept getting the error that flash was already running, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I read through the tips and saw it was suggested to uninstall and then reinstall flash. So I downloaded and ran the flash uninstaller. I successfully uninstalled the application. I tried to re-download and continued to get the error that flash was running even though it had been uninstalled. At this point I don't know what to do. It should be noted that the problem all began when I found my computer had contracted TextEnhance. I found the cure was disabling Shockwave Flash, which made me unable to watch flash videos. So when I clicked the error box on the video it directed me to Adobe Flash 11.3 download, which I am trying to install in place of Shockwave because Shockwave seems to be the source of my TextEnhance problems. For what it's worth, disabling Shockwave has cured my computer of TextEnhance. Any help in making it so I can watch flash videos would be much appreciated

    What is your operating system & version?
    Can you post a screenshot of that message ("already running")?
    I suggest that you remove any malware before retrying to install.

  • FYI can't install flash without McAfee box checked!

    So yeah, I was at my wits end trying to install flash player. I kept unchecking the supposed "optional" install of the McAfee Security Scan as I don't ever want it. Finally I decided to not uncheck it because as I said, was at my wits end, and was going to try anything at this point, and low and behold, it effin' installed!
    So people, if you have Firefox and can't install flashplayer it's cause though it's marked as "optional" to include McAfee it most certainly is not!
    I had to uninstall that dumb crap afterward.
    -Rogue

    What happened was "nothing." I downloaded the file, ran file, got my pop up about "allowing changes to my comp", blah, blah, blah; did all I am supposed to do and nothing installed.
    After many tries and reading all the install issues/possibilities in Adobe support that includes making sure nothing is being blocked from my computer's protection services, I simply decided to NOT uncheck the optional McAfee box to see what happens and EVERYTHING installed with no problem when I allowed McAfee be installed as well, and so, hence, my topic/comment.
