Windows 7 x64 - Intermittent Ethernet Connection
I bought a brand new MacMini (2013) a few months ago.
I installed BootCamp with Windows 7 64bit Premium and the BootCamp 4.0 software suite.
All hardware and software work perfectly with one exception:
I will be on the web or gaming on line when, suddenly, my internet connection drops out.
Windows will let me run through the network connection diagnostics which will eventually re-enable my internet connection.
When I go back to the web or game online the problem happens again within hours, or sometimes even minutes, of the previous re-connection.
On the Mac side everything works fine and I have no connectivity issues at all.
I just bought another MacMini with the same exact setup and it too is doing the same thing.
Can anyone help?
Quote
I built up my system but it will not recognize any network connection.
Quote
I did this because the driver cd that came with the mono would not properly work.
Quote
I still cannot connect to the internet, I get a 651 error.
Could you be a little more elaborate, as your problem description is a little vague?
Are you talking about a 'wired' internet connection, to your onboard LAN port?
In what way exactly did the driver CD 'not work'?
And where do you see this '651 error'?

IOS: AnyConnect 2.5.3055, Windows 7 x64 fails to connect to Webvpn on 2811
I am attempting to add SSLVPN to my 2811 and 2801 production routers. These devices currently run IOS 12.4(24)T4 ADV SECURITY images. I have succesfully configured the SSL VPN gateway via CCP. I can connect via web browser to https://2811IP/sslvpn, log in, and use the web portal. When I attempt to use the full tunnel AnyConnect client on Windows 7 x64 (I have nothing else to test with right now) I get the simple and vague error: "Connection attempt has failed." This error occurs before I would receive a prompt to provide credentials. It never prompts me. There is no further information such as timeout, certificate error, or anything like that.
running term mon and debug webvpn on the router produces only the following when the client attempts to connect:

I've tried adding a program exception for anyconnect to the windows firewall.
I've tried disabling the windows firewall.
I've tried connecting via different ISPs, both wired and cellular.
I've tried the previous release of AnyConnect for Windows.
The TP certificate on the device is self-signed and valid from 1/23/2006 to 12/31/2019. I am prompted to accept the cert when I client Select (Connect) in the client. After I click Accept on the certificate window the connection fails. If I wait a while (perhaps a minute) the following error pops up, but ONLY if I wait a while before clicking Accept:
"AnyConnect cannot confirm it is connected to your secure gateway. The local network may not be trustworthy. Please try another network"
What else can I check?Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318. -
Cannot get Windows 7 x64 laptop to connect to AIRONET 1140 WAP
I recently changed the configuration of my Aironet 1140 from WEP to WAP2-Enterprise to make it more secure. I am using the WAP as the radius server. After making the change I connected my Blackberry to the wap as well as a Samsung Chromebook. However when I tried to connect my HP laptop it is unable to connect. Watching from the Aironet's console I see that it is processing the association and windows ask me to enter my uid and password. When I do this I get an authentication error. I have tried several times adjusting parameters on windows but it always fails. Here is the configuration of the WAP:

Bootcamp windows 7 x64 Ethernet controller error...
I've installed the Windows 7 x64 drivers, yes I'm aware of how to get around the x64 error. However after installing My internet doesn't work.
Theres a few drivers with error code 28, saying they aren't installed next to them; ethernet controller, network controller. I've ran the repair utility, and it still doesn't install the files.
Any suggestions?Ok, I think this problem has been resolved, so I'll post the solution in case others with the Samsung Syncmaster 204B have the same problem. The answer was erasing the PRAM by holding Option-Command-P-R at boot up (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379).
This is what I think happened:
An update in Windows Update is available for the Syncmaster 204B, but wasn't visible when I first connected the Syncmaster. I wasn't able to see the update until I rebooted with the Syncmaster connected (after several crashes). After seeing the update in Windows Update under 'Optional Updates", called "Samsung - Display- 204T/204Ts/204B, Syncmaster Magic CX20Ts(digital)", I installed it, but bootcamp Windows continued to crash randomly after attaching the Syncmaster via both Mini Display Port-to-DVI and Mini Display Port-to-VGA. Sometimes it crashed after a few minutes, sometimes an hour, the same as before I installed the update.
I was convinced that it was a compatibility problem between Windows 7 x64, the Syncmaster 204B and the MacBook Pro 13" Mid-2010 hardware since this problem only happened when booting into bootcamp Windows 7 x64 (everything worked fine in Mac OS), but now that doesn't seem to be the case. I think the update fixed the problem, but after installing the update some of the of the original incompatible display settings remained resident in the Mac's PRAM. Erasing the PRAM cleared these settings and allowed the new updated settings to be loaded instead, fixing the crash issue.

I am not able to connect Airport Express Base Station Model A1264 with Windows 7 (x64). I did a factory reset, uninstalled and reinstalled the AirPort Utility for Windows v. 5.6.1.
My objective is to extend a non-Apple WiFi network with Airport Express Base Station Model A1264 and use it for direct ethernet and/ or wireless connection. Any guidance as to how I can get set up here?This is very common, we run a mix of mac and various pc brand desktops and laptops, what I have found is that using the windows wireless client rather than manufacturers on some laptops helps, getting the latest wireless drivers from the manufacturer has helped, make sure all your windows updates XP and Vista are current.
If all the above is covered try the different WEP WPA WPA2 variants or even without for test purposes. I have most success with WPA2.
Finally I am assuming your running the latest firmware on the express unit, whilst this hasn't attributed to better connectivity for us I did it regardless.

Connecting Time Capsule to a Windows 7 PC via Ethernet
Hi,
I have the following network configuration:
- Speedport (Deutsche Telekom AG) as DSL Router (I need that router for the IPTV)
- Connected to this router are two laptops and the Time capsule (WLAN)
Everything is working fine. However, I try now for days to connect my Windows 7 PC via Ethernet to this network via the Time Capsule. Due to location it is not possible to connect the Windows 7 PC directly to DSL Router or to connect the Time Capsule by cable to the router.
I think I tried every possible configuariton but without any improvements. Does anyone have an Idea what I can do ???
Windows is always telling "no identified network" and it always shows a park bench
Hope anyone have an idea ! Thanx for your help

WMP600N - weak connection and low signal - Windows 7 x64
I bought the WMP600N because Linksys and Microsoft listed it as 'compatible' for Windows 7 x64.
My experience:
- unstable and weak connection
- pings to websites like google.com drops, average: 1 out of 3
- low signal, on the same spot my three years old HP-laptop with 'a build in wireless card' has full signal strength in Windows 7
- it works well under Windows XP (32 bit)
I'am convinced that drivers for the WMP600N are not ready for Window 7 x64. Linksys (or Ralink, which developed the chipset), please release a proper driver for the WMP600N!

Message Edited by Storm_dutch on 12-20-2009 09:52 AMI'm not sure about you guys, but I use WMP600N and running Windows 7 64bit without any issues. The driver that I'm using now is Driver Version: 3.0.2.0, Driver Provider: Ralink Techonolgy Corp, Driver Date: 6/19/2009. Here's what I did when I upgrded my wireless adapter. 1. Uninstall the original wireless driver from device manager. 2. Turn off the computer and phisically removed the wireless adapter from my computer. 3. Pop in the new WMP600N and turn on the computer. 4. Windows 7 then automatically detects the new adapter and intall the proper driver for it. Well, that's all I did. The whole process is very simple and straight forward.

I recently added a new printer to a 2005 vintage PC that is running windows 7. It used to go through a router in my wifes upstairs office to the time capsule by wired ethernet (cat5) but when I added her new local printer thought I would network it, big mistaked, lost all my ethernet connection and she cannot get to the internet. Wireless not an option. How do i set up again the ethernet connection and i will only USB the printer locally this time for the windows pc?
Tried windows diagnostics, and besides telling me to reset everything and turn router off and on etc. I am in an endless loop.
Other Mac products are not impacted by this issue.I see no direct connection.. a printer and the computer setup for internet are not related.
But it sounds like the router in the wife's office is now in the wrong mode..
If you have an existing main router replace the second router for a switch .. that is the easy way.
Otherwise you need to bridge the router if it has that option.. most do not. Or use wan bypass.. where you turn off the dhcp server in the router and fix its ip to match the range of the main router.. this is the hassle of using router as a switch.
BUT I am making a huge number of assumptions.
What I need is the full network layout.. a quick picture would help.
I need main modem.. main router.. (maybe same box or different).. make model and current IP address and how dhcp is setup.
I need secondary router.. if that is what it is, IP and settings.
I want the printer type and model. How it is connected.
BTW I much prefer to see a network printer plugged into the network rather than usb.. it is only a matter of sorting the IP settings and driver pointing to the network rather than local.
Or you should think of it as a broken washing machine and call the technician.. who could fix the whole lot in an hour. -

Unable to connect to localhost Windows 7 x64, CF9 x64
I've been following along with the Lynda.com tutorial on ColdFusion Builder. Everything went smoothly until the part where I'm supposed to attach CFB to the localhost. The Lynda.com presenter is on a Mac. I am running 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit ColdFusion 9 developer edition.
When I would add the local server to CFB, it would sit with status unknown forever. Eventually I would get a message on the console saying
Error retrieving server version. Cannot perform the operation. Check if the server is accessible from web browser.
(I was following the thread about remote connection issues with great interest, but nothing there seemed to apply to my problem.)
I have tried a number of different permutations of installing and configuring the components.
CF9 x64 Stand-alone
CF9 x64 J2EE piggybacking on IIS
CF9 x64 J2EE built-in web server
I tried these with and without the most recent patches to CFB and CF9
With the built-in web server, I tried using cfusion:8300. I also tried creating a new server instance called localhost on 8500. When I tried adding localhost:8500 to CFB, CFB locked up.
I have a feeling that I'm either looking in the wrong place or I have overlooked something obvious. I just thought of one thing I haven't tried... I will try to install the 32 bit version of CF9 to see if that helps.
Any other advice would be appreciated. Is anyone else running CF9 x64 under Windows 7 x64?
--BI decided to check the system reqs for CFB just in case I made an RTFM gaffe.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=coldfusion_builder
ColdFusion Builder for Windows
* 2GHz or faster processor
* Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3, Windows Vista® Ultimate or Enterprise (32 or 64 bit running in 32-bit mode), Windows Server® 2008 (32 bit), or Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit running in 32-bit mode)
* 1GB of RAM (2GB recommended)
* 1GB of available hard-disk space
* Java™ Virtual Machine (32 bit): IBM® JRE 1.5, Sun™ JRE 1.5, IBM JRE 1.6, or Sun JRE 1.6
* DVD-ROM drive
* Eclipse 3.4.2 or Eclipse 3.5 32-bit (for plug-in installation)
So, no 64 bit version, but the 32-bit should work... well - that's one less thing.
I tried 32bit CF9 but the server wouldn't serve any pages. I kept getting a 500.0 error. Adobe has addressed this:
http://blogs.adobe.com/vikaschandran/2010/07/08/altering-application-pools-in-iis-764-bit- to-create-32-and-64-bit-connectors-with-coldfusion-964-bit/
but I decided to shut down IIS and run CF9 as a free-standing J2EE using its own built-in web server.
Once again, CFB locked up when trying to add the new localhost server. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall CFB... -
ThinkPad W530 with Windows 8 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector
Nine, that only covers Widows 7. Many people in this thread have reported the problem using Windows 8. Has that been addressed by Lenovo yet? Stability problems like this should NEVER be allowed to go so long without a resolution.
Edit Note : This thread was created base from the previous thread "ThinkPad W530 with Windows 7 x64 Pro BSOD when connecting to projector. As we currently Cx reporting facing the same issue on Win8 I have seperated this thread in order not toconfuse other customer. For cutomers facing this issue please continue posting in this thread.Hi shan_mcarthur,
Thanks for posting. I read through this thread again and noticed that most of customers here do indeed have Windows 7 installed as what the title represented unless I'm mistaken or may have missed out are you or anyone else here facing the same issue on Windows 8. If that is the case I'll be more than happy to bring this up with the teams but it will have to be a new thread though as I'd like to keep the resolution separate based on the OS use just to not confuse other customer .
For those facing the same issue above on Win8, please do let me know so we can start a discussion around this.
Do let me know.

AnyConnect client 3.1.04063 Windows 7 x64 users cannot make ssl connection
Over the past week several of my users have suddenly found they cannot connect with a previously working client. After the login banner is accepted they all get an error message "The certificate on the secure gateway is invalid. A VPN connection will not be established." Then another message "AnyConnect was not able to establish a conenction to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again." On the ASA 5540 logs I see successful authentication and then the device is trying to establish a ssl session which is denied and then connection is terminated.
I have verfied that the ssl certificates are valid and are installed in the trusted root certificates location. I have checked that ICS is disabled. I have checked that the vpn adapter display name is correct.
Does anyone have any ideas?We are not using a self signed cert. We have a cert issued by the DoD. It seems like a user who had previously connected and is on Windows 7 x64 will not be able to connect. Users who have never connected and browse to the site will be able to successfully connect.
Additional information: I have cleared all DoD related certs and the server cert from the certmgr.msc on an affected Windows box. Uninstalled the AnyConnect application and all remnant files. Cleared SSL cache on both IE and Firefox browsers. I rebooted then tried connecting via the web address but am receiving the same issue. -
VPN error "all devices connected" suddenly appears on Windows 7 x64
I have been having VPN issue on one Windows 7 x64 Dell Latitude laptop in the past couple of weeks. The symptom was that the VPN would connect fine and work for a few hours. Then the connection would become unusable even though status of the
VPN connection would shown as connected. No connection could be made to machines on the VPN and the VPN connection could not be disconnected. Restarting the computer would usually resolve the issue. This morning however VPN stopped working completely.
I got the error 619 with the message "all devices connected". Rebooting the machine did not help and neither did deleting and recreating the VPN connection.
Even more strangely every operation related to VPN has become extremely slow. When connection attempt is made, it takes a while for the Connect VPN Connection dialogue window to show up and the connection attempt itself takes minutes before the error
message shows up. It also takes a long time just to bring up the property dialogue of the VPN connection and switching between tabs takes a few seconds as well.
The VPN connection is set up using all default values and other machines no the network do not have this problem. As far as I know except for the routine windows update no network related changes or software installation was done to this box before or during
the time that the problem started to surface.
I created a second user account on this machine and was able to get a new VPN connection to work briefly. However after logging off/on the same problem occurred for the 2nd user as well.
Has anybody experienced similar issues? TIA!Hi,
Have you tried any other method to resolve this problem, such upgrade or reinstall NIC driver?
Firewalls and antivirus programs may be running that block access to the VPN ports. Please temporarily disable these to troubleshoot.
If problem persists, please also perform the suggestions from the link below:
