Windows 7 XML SP2 not updating

I have a problem that hopefully someone can help with. I am using a HP Omni 120-1124 Desktop PC. It has Windows 7 Home premium, 64-bit installed. There are 2 Windows updates that will not install no matter what I do. They are: 1) "Security Update for MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 2" (KB954430) and "Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2" (KB973688). In one of the MSN articles I looked at, it said to go to: c:\
Windows\System32 and right-click the Msxml4.dll file and click properties. The file Msxml4.dll file is not there.
Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

BOXI R2 SP4 (FP 4.1) Windows AD Groups not updating

I just patched my BO XI R2 server to service pack 4 and applied fix pack 4.1. I am having an issue where my Windows AD groups are not updating correctly. When I log into the CMC and go to users, click on an account name and then click on the "Member of" tab, I don't see the Windows AD groups that the user belongs to. However, when I go to "Groups", click on the group name that the user is supposed to belong to and then click on "Users", I see the user's account name/login. Has anyone else seen this problem? I have tried the following:
- remove the user from the Windows AD group using Active Directory Users & Groups and adding them back in
- adding the user into a new Windows AD group and import that AD group
This is currently a pretty big problem for me so if anyone has any insight into how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Hi Glen,
It is expected that if changes are made in AD (that don't remove a user from all groups) will not be instant on the CMS. When you go to a group and click on the members/users tab. You will be prompted that this query may take some time. This action sends a live query to AD and therefore should be up to date. When you click on a user and try to view the groups for which they are a member this is not a live query but rather accesses a graph that the CMS maintains in memory. This graph is set to refresh every 15 minutes by default so there should at least be a 15 minute delay. Then the time to update the graph can vary as well. If you have 1 groups it should take a few seconds, but if you have 1000's of groups or many nested groups it could take much longer. To initiate this process you can hit update in the CMC\auth\AD or restart the CMS. If you find that this is not how the system is working, then it is best to open a message with support. These cases can be quite involved and usually require considerable CMS tracing and maybe packet scanning to resolve.

Windows disc does not update after resizing boot camp partition

When I bought my iMac, it came with a 500 GB HDD. I used bootcamp to make a 200GB windows partition and a 300GB Mac partition. The other day I bought a 250GB SSD, and moved everything from my 300GB Mac partition onto the SSD.
My plan was to use the whole 500GB HDD for windows. So, I deleted the 300GB Mac partition and made it free space on the drive. I then expanded the boot camp partition to take up the whole drive using Mini Tool on windows 7.
Now, windows 7 shows that my drive is 465GB, but when I boot into mac, the bootcamp hard drive still reads 200GB and 300GB are "free space" even though I expanded the drive using Mini Tool.
I tried to fix this by filling up the hard drive with an extra 120 GB so it exceeded the 200GB limit that windows shows. But when I booted back into OSX to see if it had worked, none of the files were showing up in the drive, making me believe that boot camp and OS X are not reading changes I am making to the bootcamp drive when I use Windows.
How can I change this so Disk Utility shows the full size of the disc, like Mini Tool does?

Re-sizing Windows partitions is not supported on Bootcamp. It requires a clean install. The other option is using Winclone.

You need to delete the Windows partition using the Boot Camp Assistant, and start over to change the size of the Windows partition. Back up your important Windows files first.

Windowed CLOCK does not update correctly

My floating desktop clock [digital with date] is one hour earlier than it should be and will not update correctly on startup. The time shown is correct if I switch to the menubar version, as is the time in the time update slot on the Time & Date tab in Preferences. But the analog clock below the time update slot shows one hour earlier also. Am not sure how long this has been a problem since I haven't traveled to a different timezone in two months. At this stage in the lifecycle of Tiger, these kinds of petty annoyances should NOT be occurring as new issues.

Thanks for the info but the answer does not lie in International. It's a bug in my clock and apparently only for EDT for some cities, like New York NY (my closest city for the summer). When I switch to Ottawa Canada IN THE SAME TIME ZONE everything is OK. Weirdski.

Library xml is not updated, or created empty

I have my playlists and files in itunes, but not in imovie for example. I figured out that the Library.xml is not created even when i open itunes with a new library.
Maybe it has some "invalid" chars in my music file names. I have a lot of files, so renaming one by one is not a option.
I'm just guessing that is the problem, but i suppose the xml have to support utf-8, am i right?
And the option to export the playlist as xml does nothing.
The question is simple: How can i fix that?

I think i should explain my requirements in more detail. I'm working on different Employee Self Service Scenarios. The User Interface is a Webdynpro which can be called form the Portal. In Background a Workflow is trigger and all following steps can be executed through the UWL.
For each Scenario it is possible to enter different date by the user. As the data is used in the workfow i would like to set it into the container by an generic Function Module for all scenarios. Each Process has a unique name and i made a table where the related information (Workflow task...) is stored.

Server2008 SP2 Not updating

Hi Guys
I have been searching for a resolution regarding a server 2008 SP2 updates failing.
I get an error 80246001. There is no WSUS server in domain and GPO has been configured for it to go to MS servers to get update.
I have searched most of the solutions and applied but no luck.
I have applied registry fixes, proxy, and MS' own update tool fix but same error. Ran all sorts of malware, virus and root kit checks. Ran hijackme, AVG, MS' malicious detector, Kaspersky, and various other things came back clean.
Please, if anyone has any other ideas on how to fix this please let me know.

Issue with INSTALLATION FAILURES should be addressed with the forum that covers the PRODUCT being updated. Once the installation file arrives on the client system, neither WU/MU nor WSUS are involved in the matter anymore. If these are OS updates, then inquire
in the Windows Server forums; if these are .NET updates, then inquire in the .NET forums.
However, as a starting point on WS2008R2 systems, when updates fail installation... run the Security Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and fix anything identified as broken, then try the update again.

XML Publisher not updating translated XLFs

Hi,
We are using XML Publisher Administrator responsibility to upload French translated XLFs for our RTF files. We are using EBS version 12.1.3.
We are able to successfully upload XLFs in WINDOWS-1252 encoding format. However,when we download those, the resulting files are encoded in UTF-8,with some characters distorted out.However, the final report output shows the correct European character set.
Can anyone suggest why is this happening ?

We use BPEL to extract information from an external source, once we get this, we use BI publisher to then compile everything together including output from a receivables report, to produce a pdf report. Microsoft Word just ignores the <?b?>, thinks it's a sub tag. p.s i put the ? in there so that html browser does not bold the text. in the real sample the ? are not in there.

Windows 8 clients not updating via SCCM?

I am running Windows Server 2012 R2 and SCCM 2012 R2 (v5.0.7958.1000) and am trying to deploy updates to a Windows 8.1 client but am not having any joy, I keep getting errors within the WindowsUpdate.log.
Can deploy updates to Windows 7 machines okay but not Windows 8.1.

Network timed out cause something is blocking you. My guess the same something disabled your Windows Firewall, but it also could be you did it yourself.
Disable all your antiviruses, check your host file, uninstall antiviruses if disable does not help.

Login window user list not updating

I have set up a lab of emacs with os x 10.4 server and clients. The login window of the clients dispays a list of users. I added and imported a bunch of users and it all worked fine. I then updated to 10.4.4 and then backed up my server volume.
For some weird reason I can no longer see any additional users that I add in workgroup manager...infact even if I delete users this change is not reflected in the list of users in the login window.
-I have restarted the workstations and the server.
-I have deleted the DirectoryService folder off the client and reset all the Directory settings.
-I have udated the client to 10.4.4.
-I have mucked around with computer management settings in Workgroup Manager.
I am currently out of ideas. I'm not sure if the list of users I am seeing on the worksation is from a local cache or if its getting this bogus list from the server...Is there a cache file somewhere on the local machines that isn't being updated?

Hi Rob, I think it'll be listed alphabetically, but maybe putting a spave before your name will put at the top- haven't tested it but works with other things within the system.

XML file not updating

The imsmanifest.xml doesn't seem to be updated after I have
completed the test in the presentation. I have tried all the
settings in quiz manager.
I am suppose to see the test results in the imsmanifest.xml
file, right?

did you use the site list manager tool, or edit the XML by hand?
if you edited by hand, did you increase the file version number ?

XML Data not updating on xlf

hi,
My IT department created some xml files for a project that I am working on. I want to have XML connecting into the dashboard whenever I update the xml file. Is there a way I can do it? I tried saving the XML data into Excel and importing the spreadsheet into dashboard, which gave the me the data but if I want to have XML data connection with the URL of xml data in my local file it doesn't work. I also tried XML Maps for data manager and that worked one time but if I update same file it won't show me new data after refreshing.
Does any body know how to do it from starting and give me steps to automatically refresh the data... I have three different data sheets for charts. I have Xcelsius 2008 Engage....I am totally confused...

Windows XP will not update to latest version of iTunes, any ideas

iPhone will not connect to PC (Windows XP) because PC requires 11.1 or later. When I try and install the latest download it states "the feature is on a network resource that is unavailable, enter an alternate path to "iTunes.msi". What does this mean, any fixes out there?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

XML template not updating

Hi
I have a data definition and a template registered.
When i make changes to the xml template and upload it still shows the same old output.
ie when i run the concurrent proram i am getting the same old template layout.
i tried to change few labels on the template and uploaded,but the concurrent program still picks the old template.
Can any one help me regarding this.

Try this and see if you still get the same Output
Save the XML Output of the Concurrent Program
After making changes to Template, load XML Data and see preview of the Output in the Stand alone.

Check whether Data Definition and Template are Assigned Accordingly
