Windows 8.1 64bit will not install on Bootcamp partion

Hey guys so i use bootcamp to install and partion the hard and then get onto the windows 8.1 installer. Everything goes well till i get to the hard drive point were i format the BOOTCAMP hard drive. it still has the error at the bottom saying
" Windows Cannont be instaled onto this disk. The Selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systeams, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks. Windows cannon be installed to this disk.
The computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu."
I have a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro UNI BODY. with a 500GB hard drive.
Thanks..

    Hi Tamekia,
I am sorry to hear nothing has worked yet. I have looked up some additional information and possible solutions. Follow the steps in this document to perform a level-three uninstall, register the Windows Installer Service, and then reinstall the HP software. An uninstall and reinstall of the software deletes and overwrites any of the files that might cause the error and resets the Windows Installer. HP recommends that you download the latest software from the HP Web site to remove any files that might be causing this error.
Level-three uninstall, and register the Windows Installer Service

Thinkcenter E series 8291-ETU --- upgraded from XP to Windows 7 yesterday.
Any ideas on how to get this product installed in Windows 7 ?

I recently did a clean install of Win7 Ult on my X61 7676A24, and this is the only Lenovo software that I could not find a Win 7 solution for. However,
    1. I was able to load WinDVD8 upgrade (from Lenovo's Win7 information page) after first loading the WinDVD5 version that was the last good release for Vista.
    2. The Multimedia Center for Think Offerings is basically Roxio's suite for writing cd/dvd's, drag to disc and so on.
Since I could not load this anyway, I was forced to try out Win7's inbuilt cd/dvd writing - it works perfectly well.  Even better, Win7 natively supports an excellent ISO burning tool. So, I think if you explore these inbuilt tools, you can probably live without the Mul Cent for Think Off.

  • Operating system. We have Premier Pro CS6 and 32-bit Windows 7. It will not install

    Dell Laptop Latitude 6420
    Windows 7 Professional
    8GB Ram
A user in Public Relations needs to use Adobe Premier Pro CS6. However when we tried to install it the program is grayed out and has a caution icon. If I hover over it there is a message that says it prefers 64-bit. Prefers does not mean will not work in my opinion. However it will not install.
I read that Premier Pro is 64-bit only on another web site. Is this true? There has to be a solution.
On the Adobe site I saw that installing CS4 Premier was the work around but you have to purchase a license key. We have already purchased Premier Pro and do not have money in the budget to purchase an older product when this one should work.
Please help. I am under a lot of pressure to resolve this

Premiere Pro CS6 is 64 bit software and will only install on a 64 bit computer. There is no way around that.

  • Windows 7 64bit would not install on bootcamp partition

I have a Windows 7 64bit ISO. I inserted a 8GB usb stick into my New Retina MacBook Pro and ran the Boot Camp to install Windows 7 bootable from the USB stick. It all went fine, booted into Windows install, and when I had to select a partition, I selected the only one that said BOOTCAMP and was 40GB, just as I created it earlier when creating a partition size compared to the total disk. I selected the partition and as I could not select next, I selected to format the 40GB Bootcamp partition. It didnt take long, but afterwards, when I clicked next, it showed up an error about not being able to use the partition or something, I cant fully remember.
But now my OSX will not boot. When I turn off the computer by holding down the power button, it turns off, and then when I hold down the power button to turn it back on it does the grey screen part, and then shows a black screen and shows:
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
    What do I do here?

Hold the option/alt key down on a wired or built in keyboard and boot the machine, you enter Startup Manager and thus can get into OS X.
Next, when your installing Windows, you first have to format the internal Bootcamp partition from the FAT32(MSDOS Apple calls it) to NTFS while booted from the Windows 7 install disk, THEN you can install Windows and it takes a lot longer than a few seconds.
Read the BootCamp manual, there is also drivers you have to install into Windows

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 will not install when Server 2012 non-R2 installs fine.

Our company has several Windows Server 2012 servers that installed and work without issues. However, we purchased several Server 2012 R2 licenses to install on the exact same hardware, and at the very beginning of the install process it does not recognize
any of the hard drives, and cannot continue with the install. I have put the drivers that the non-R2 servers use on a flash drive, and tried to use those drivers during the R2 installs, but none work. This is extremely frustrating, and I want to know what
my options are? Is it a signed driver issue? Can I disable signed driver checks before installing R2? Thanks for any help.
P.S. I will even consider downgrading the Server 2012 R2 licenses to standard 2012 if that is even possible? I don't think I can get a refund on the media.

Contact your server vendor to see if they support 2012 R2 on the platform you are working with.  They are the ones who determine what firmware/drivers get released for what versions of the operating system.
"R2 2012 and using them for R2 does not work as it just rejects them or says no new device drivers were found."
Are you trying to load them during the installation process when it gives you the option to load drivers?  I've never seen a 'no new device drivers were found' message at that point because you are specifically telling it which driver to use.
Yes, the license for a retail copy of the operating system contains downgrade rights.  However, activation keys are different.  You may have to contact Microsoft or the vendor from whom you purchased your copy to obtain a 2012 activation key.

  • Windows 8 will not install via bootcamp. Please Help!

Hello everyone. So I have a mid 2012 MBP with an ssd and then the hdd in the optical dirve's place. Im trying to bootcamp windows on my hdd. Ive created the partition for it via bootcamp (200gb). And for my install im using the windows 8 system builder disc i bought, in the super drive that came out of my mbp. Now the error im getting is that windows  "cannot create new partition or locate current one". Ive already formatted to NTFS. I even tried formatting the enitre hdd via cmd but sitll get the error no matter what. I read somewhere that its because I  have a usb plugged in. The issue is I have to since I no longer have the optical drive installed. Does anyone know how to get around this error or is my only option to reinstall my optical drive and install windows and then take it back out? I hope not because there is no way i will be doing that. Please help me. Thank You.

    1) Try connecting to a different USB port
    2) Try installing via USB flash drive. After you're finished creating the image, make sure to unplug your superdrive from the USB port and the only connected USB device is the flash drive. See below for instructions:

  • Itunes 10.5 64bit will not install on Win7

I get a "There is a problem with this Windows installer package..."

I was having the same issue.  Heres what I did:
    1. Uninstalled itunes.  (dont worry this does not delete your music or media)
    2. restart
    3. if install doesnt work, go to control panel > Uninstall program > left click on Apple Update Software so that it's highlighted > Click on Repair at the top.
    4. Wait until the process is complete and then try reinstalling.  Worked for me after that.
The old Apple Update Software must not be communicating very well with the new itunes software.
    Good luck!

  • Windows Virtual PC (KB958559) will not install, "This update is not applicable to your computer."

Windows Virtual PC KB958559 never installs. It says "This update is not applicable to your computer." Here are my details...

Any ideas? I have seen the other posts but nothing seemed to be a solution. Another strange behavior that may (or may not) be related is that when I try to load the "Turn Windows features on or off" the box loads blank.

Firstly, please read the following article on how to resolve the blank dialog box of “Windows Features”:
The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, or you receive an error message that includes
the following code when you try to use Windows Update: "0x80073712"
    Then,
empty the Temporary Internet files and %Temp% folder.
    At last, download
Windows Virtual PC again and install it.

  • Windows 8.1 Driver will not install

    Hi Again,
I assume that HP help does not/or is unable to help with this problem. As stated I have done as required in the previous, help sugestion. Unfortunately I am still unable to install the new drivers for the solution centre. I assume that the solution that HP wants is to bin a perfectly good printer and purchase a new one, which of makes sound economic sense, if you are HP.
I like to think if you buy something, it should last. Maybe thats something that HP doesn't want to happen!
Anyway, thanks for the help that didn't work. Appreciate the time and trouble..

    Fulty,
ShlomiL  is one of our best Experts to help with these sorts of issues.  Unfortunately, sometimes the problems do not respond to the proposed fix.
HP wants you to succeed.   HP wants you to be happy with your HP products.
The program installation may have failed for the reason stated in the message.  The program may have failed for a an issue for which there is no proper error message.  It is not likely, but it is possible:  Programs can say they are failing in this way and really be stuck over here in this other spot.   The printer software is really smart but there might be a hole in it somewhere.
There might be something else going on -- there might be something different in your computer's File System, that is, your Windows 8.1 Operating System that is keeping the software from installing this time.
    File Rename
I am assuming that if there were .dat files to be renamed, that you have done that.
    Printer Software Removed
I am assuming that if there are any remnants of the printer software still on the system, you can remove it:
         Windows key + X > F (Opens Programs and Features) >
Scroll down > look for Printer Software, If found > Right-Click > Uninstall Printer Software
    Hard Reset
IF you are running your Windows 8.1 on a Notebook, you can try the following to make sure that everything that is loading from the disk and the Operating System:
    ·         Create a Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7  OR  Create a restore point Win8
    ·         Close all your programs and Shut down the computer
    ·         Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
    ·         Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook model
    ·         Boot the computer and log in
Reminder:  Hard Reset is just a device Reset.  The Hard Reset procedure does not  wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way.  It just "clears the cobwebs".  Depending on the cause of the problem, this kind of "reset" can fix a variety of computer glitches.
    Windows Updates
Make sure your Windows Updates are up-to-date.  While it is just as likely that Updates can cause problems, with Windows 8.1, there is no going backwards at this time.
If you have not yet done so:
Create a Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7  OR  Create a restore point Win8
Check and apply any Important Windows Updates

  • Windows Vista disk will not install in bootcamp

I have been trying for several days to install Win Vista home premium (full version). The dvd drive always does the same. It starts to spin up and then I hear it read twice and then it stops and I end up with the light grey screen. I have gone as far now as a full system clean install (and time machine restore). I have tried unplugging everything. I have tried using the original keyboard and mouse. I have read every post I can find. I have tried to boot by holding option key. All hardware checks out fine, the disk is good. Does anyone have any insight into what could be done to correct this issue? Any input appreciated.
