Windows 8.1 and Apple Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard connection

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.0 Home and as a result I'm experiencing the following problems:
Apple Bluetooth Mouse - randomly dis/connects or freezes where I cannot move the mouse or it's very jerky or very slow.
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - the keys will stick or freeze causing the redundent key presses (eg. yyyyyyyyeeeeeee).
I've done the following to fix the problem with no success:
Reinstall Boot Camp 5.0.5033 drivers
Reinstalled Bluetooth drivers from Boot Camp 5.0.533 individually
Unistalled both devices on OS X and reinstall them only on Windows 8.1
Reinstalling both on OS X and reinstalling them on Windows 8.1
Uninstalling all the drivers from the Device Manager and reinstalling them
One thing I have noticed is that under Devices and Printers I have two new devices (HID-compliant mouse and HID Keyboard Device) that were not there under Windows 8.0 in addition to my bluetooth devices.  I have tried removing the new devices but they keep reinstalling themselves.
I have USB mouse that's connected and I've been able to use that without problems so I think there's a problem with the Apple driver or the Windows 8.1 bluetooth drivers.
Has anyone fixed this?
Thanks!

Just to point out the "Bluetooth Collaboration" setting I've found this:
Bluetooth Collaboration enables general purpose input/output transmit suppression protocol between the IEEE 802.11 media access control (MAC) and an external Bluetooth chip to minimize transmit interference. Bluetooth Collaboration is enabled by default.
And it is not enabled by default on some devices like on mine!

  • My apple bluetooth mouse is not being recognized by my macbook air - and it was yesterday!

My apple bluetooth mouse was working perfectly with my macbook air until I had to change the batteries.  Now it is not discoverable and I really can't operate without a mouse.  I tried another logitech usb mouse and that was not discoverable either.  Please help!

Today, when I turned on my iMac, neither my bluetooth mouse or keyboard were recognized. I had to connect my old USB keyboard-mouse to type this message.
And yes, I restarted my iMac, didn't help.
    Can someone help?
PS: Barry, "resetting SMC" doesn't help

  • Really slow and jerky cursor with my apple bluetooth mouse, can you help?

    hey.
i have the apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard, they were working perfectly (keyboard still does) until they ran out of batteries one day. i reverted to the wired set up and (lazily) didn't get batteries for a while (month or so). When i did the keyboard responds as before but the mouse is painfully jerky and slow. i have re-paired the mouse and changed the batteries twice, it is so annoying i now use the bluetotth keyboard and wired mouse. any advice/suggestions gratefully recieved.
    many thanks.

it is so frustrating isn't it. i now sit looking at the bluetooth mouse whilst getting tangled up in the cable of the wired mouse!! i was going to buy the new wireless mighty mouse hoping that that would solve/bypass the problem but reading what you have all put is definately making me wary of that. it seems so simple doesn"t it, nice uncluttered desk, pretty foolproof technology. if only... seems that no matter how clever these things get they are still not smart enough. i have been looking elsewhere for solutions but no luck as of yet, if i find any i'll let you know.
    regards,

  • Using an Apple Bluetooth mouse with a pc

Is it possible to use the Apple Bluetooth mouse with a pc and windows XP using WIDCOMM. I've tried to connect mine and although the pc sees the mouse, it tries to pair using a security code. This is despite the fact that it later says a security code is not required! Anyone got any experience of this?

Problem solved. Security code 0000 entered, mouse paired with pc and everything worked beautifully.

  • Opinion on Mighty Mouse & Original Apple Bluetooth Mouse

I just received my bluetooth Mighty Mouse today and I have to say it's an excellent mouse!
    Pros:
Compared to the original Apple Bluetooth Mouse, this one is lighter (much lighter). It also tracks better than the original Apple Bluetooth Mouse. My desktop is a piece of grey plastic and with the original mouse, it was not able to track at all. With the new wireless Mighty Mouse, it works just fine!
I also love how one can zoom in by control-scrolling. Excellent feature!
    Almost everything works well.
    Cons:
Like others have said before, the one minor complaint is the side squeeze buttons. Only if the squeeze buttons were just slightly less tight. But I would not say this negative is any reason to not get the Mighty Mouse.
Also, unlike the original bluetooth mouse which has a slider to adjust the pressure of the click button, this one does not come with that feature. Not a big deal, nevertheless.
    Good job, Apple!

It's not for any help, but me too have the same problem.
My mighty mouse, lose connection in a random way with my MacBook Pro 17" Unibody.
I've an iMac at home, with another mighty mouse, so I try to exchange the two, but any one of the two mouse work right with the iMac and have the same problem with the MBP.
Maybe for 1/2 day, there is no problem, and after that in an hour the lose connection happen 2/3 times.
I try like you to delete the .plist file and reset PRAM but the only difference is that now the bluetooth icon in the menu bar correctly shows the three dots of the connection, but as always at random, the mouse stops working and the pointer remains stationary on the screen.
The only solution is to manually disconnect and then click a button on the mouse to reconnect.
My only hope is that with the arrival of Snow Leopard and the next "clean installation" the problem disappears.
I'm sorry can't give you any help.

  • Any issue about Apple Bluetooth mouse ???

    Hello there
I was reading so many issues about the Apple Bluetooth mouse in the Apple Store page for this item.
I was reading it because i want to change my Kensington PilotMouse for the Apple mouse. Actually i have so many issues with the PilotMouse, like the lately wake up on the sytem startup, battery eater and so many times work in slowly way.
I don't want nothing of this with the Apple mouse and i read all of this in the feedback pages. I love the 3 buttoms from the PilotMouse but i prefer the technically "no problem way" from Apple.
Any of you know any issue about the Apple Bluetooth mouse (before go to store for one) ???
I have a good experience with the Apple Bluetooth keyboard (i have one), but i don't know nothing about the mouse.
Thanks for any recommendations or comment about this item.

  • Airport Locks with non-Apple Bluetooth Mouse

I have an iBook 12" G4 1.33GHz 1.5GB RAM, internal Airport Extreme, Bluetooth, etc.
I have tried several non-Apple Bluetooth mice and they create the same problem: Airport stops working and when I put the mouse pointer on the menubar Airport icon it turns into a spinning disk. I have looked in the log files but can't see anything useful. I have to reset the computer to get it to work properly again. If I use an Apple bluetooth mouse this does not ever happen. I am trying to use the same Logitech mouse that I have used perfectly well for over a year on my Apple Mini G4.
    Any ideas anybody?

  • Targus bluetooth mouse will not connect in bootcamp

I have a Targus blueetooth mouse that will not connect in bootcamp. It has worked fine for a long time in XP and 7. Then I upgraded the haddrive and had to do a lean install of Windows 7 and the Apple bootcamp 5. Now it will not connect at all. I have the "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" seleted , it sees the mouse but it tries to connect and just stalls. This is very frustrating since without the mouse it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot Windows.

Bluetooth mouse will not connect my wireless mouse...
    what works +every time+ for me :
use your fingers to move the cursor up to the bluetooth icon (top right of display)
click bluetooth icon, select user mouse / connect
then quickly move the cursor up (with fingers) so it touches or is very close to the bluetooth icon
and start clicking with your mouse (making sure the mouse is on obviously).
I have NO idea why but this works on my MacBookPro everytime. If I try to connect without moving the cursor near the BT icon it won't connect (or takes at least 10 trys).

  • TS3048 Mountain lion and old apple bluetooth mouse sync problems

I just purchased the a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion installed.  I am trying to pair it with my old bluetooth mouse modle number A1197 with the small scroll ball at the top.  I cannot get my computer to recognize this mouse at all.  Is there any solution or do I just have to buy a new mouse?  The mouse still works fine and has not difficulty synchronizing with my desktop --but Mountain Lion is not yet installed on the Desktop.

A Bluetooth device may only pair with one thing at a time.

    1. I have tried copying the Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse drivers to the $WinPEDriver$ directory with mixed success on a 2012 MBP.
    2. My experience is based on a 2013 rMBP. You may be able to use an Apple USB Keypad/Mouse to better success.
    3. See http://www.macworld.com/article/2460820/macbook-pro-mid-2014-review-minor-update -offers-slightly-better-cpu-performance.html for HW differences between the two machines.
    4. If you have access to a 2013 rMBP, I can suggest trying to build the USB on that and working with the USB to see if you can make it install Windows. the rMBP 2014 and rMBP 2013 have the same HW, except some CPU changes. You can also try building the USB at the nearest Apple store, if possible.
    5. There is a section in AutoUnattend.xml, which is supposed to install all drivers in $WinPEDriver$ (see this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686316 )

    Hi, Colin!

These articles are a good place to start with troubleshooting this problem.
When you're having trouble with your iMac G5, searching the KnowledgeBase can often be a big help. Notice that several categories of resources are available. If you have any difficulty at first adjusting to the search engine (I did), check out the ~new Search Help webpage.
I'll post back a little later with some further comments about what I've observed of my (& other folks') difficulties and solutions with changing batteries and reconnecting, etc.
Please post back to share your progress and to discuss this further.
    Hang in there!

[1] Please note that having a backup "wired" mouse may be required to resolve Bluetooth connection problems. As the "How to Set Up..." article cited above says:"Use a Wired USB Keyboard and Mouse During Setup

During the setup process, you'll need to use a USB mouse before the Apple Wireless Mouse can work. Keep a USB mouse connected to the computer until you've completed setting up the Apple Wireless Mouse. After setup is complete, you can disconnect the USB mouse."
In my experience, a "wired" keyboard is only required when there's a connection problem for which using a startup keyboard shortcut is a critical troubleshooting tool.   (Some of the startup key combinations for Intel-based Macs are different.)

  • Apple bluetooth mouse. From desktop to doorstop in one month.

I was prompted to change the batteries in my bluetooth wireless mouse, which I did. Now the mouse is recognized and paired but it will NOT move the pointer. It will click, but the pointer does not move. I've searched and found that others have had similar problems, but so far no solutions. Can anyone help me?

I am having this problem as well.
In my case I have MacBook Pro (Late 2011) and I am using Apple Keyboard and Apple Trackpad. They are running well for 15 minutes or so and then the trackpad is jumpy and keyboard is lagging. I have to restart the Bluetooth in my MBP so they are running well again. It is so annoying.
I am using the latest version of Yosemite.
    Please fix this.
