Windows 8.1 and Flash Player with Firefox 24
I have installed Windows 8.1 und Flash-Player 11.9.900.117 for Firefox 24
Whe i open a tab which needs flash player, FF24 is freezing.
Have you an answer?
Do you receive any error messages when this occurs? Could you navigate to "about:crashes" and copy/paste the results that are displayed?
For working around this, I'd recommend reverting back to 11.7 until this can be resolved.
Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11.7 for Windows or Macintosh?

Flash Player with Firefox--Need immediate Help!
I just came across a very odd problem happening with Firefox only.
The video loads first time and plays, however if you click the next time it comes up saying cannot access/access denied, couldn't replicate in any other browser.
Basically it works fine first time after clearing the cache in FF.
it's odd, would need a resolution immediately.
test:
http://origin-akamai-aptimize-bhpb.dcs.avanade.com/home/Pages/default.aspx
you should get a video link on the home itself.
*in case u cannot access it please try out in sometime since we update it sometime.
Here's a dump of the response headers being sent back from the server when the error occurs:

I checked with the player developers as well, however
I believe the error has to do with Flash's handling of partial content HTTP responses in Firefox.

Windows Media player and flash player conflicting
Hello,
I have a problem with watching streams (television programs)
on the internet. I think this is caused by conflicting roles of
windows media player and flash player. When i don't have installed
flash player i can watch the streams. When i install flash player,
i see only green and red blocks on the respective screen. I don't
know where the problem lies. I have installed Windows Media player
again, (also Flash player) but this hasn't worked. The streams work
with Mozilla firefox.
I hope you could really help me,
Sincerily,
TuncieHi Tuncie
Verify that Windows Media Player is not set as the default
player for all content in Firefox including Flash.
Also, please respond with a URL for testing. -
I have Windows 8.1, my adobe player is the most updated version also.... hope this helps
Yeah, Firefox and Flash Player isn't a super stable combination on Windows 8.1 at the moment. We're collaborating closely with Mozilla to improve that, but that effort is going to happen over several months.
In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the other options. Microsoft invested a lot of time and effort into making the Flash experience on Win8.1 really good in IE, as did Google with Chrome. -
Shockwave and Flash Player error messages in Firefox
Hi,
I'm having two problems with Firefox:
1) Flash Player...
a) Sometimes I keep getting the message that I need to download Flash Player. b) However I have visited this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html And verified that the latest version of Flash is already installed on my system. c) I get the message, and then after a little while the video still plays anyway - but how can I stop receiving this message?
2) Shockwave...
From time to time I get an error message regarding the "Shockwave Plugin" - saying that it can't play a script, and asking if I want the script to continue or stop.
How can I solve this?
I have a Windows 7 PC.
Thanks in advance!I've had success with this with several people so far.
Copy the following (bold) text into a Notepad document (Don't use Wordpad or Word because they add formatting and it doesn't work):
c:\windows\system32\cleanmgr.exe /dc /sageset: 1
c:
cd \
cd c:\windows\prefetch
del *.* /q
Save it to your desktop as "clean.bat" under "All file types".
Double click it and your Disk Cleanup will open, but not like it usually does.
Check EVERY box in the configuration window, Click OK and close it.
Next, right click the "clean.bat" file and choose "Edit".
When it opens in Notepad, change "sageset" to "sagerun" and save it.
Double click it and let it run. This will do a "deep cleanup" of your hard drive. This will remove a bunch of temp files that may be affecting your browser and Flash Player. -
On a computer running Windows 8 Enterprise, Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and Flash Player 11.8.800.94, I am unable to open a flash-enabled PDF. Reader gives me the error "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat." Adobe's Flash verification page shows me that Flash Player is working, and I can open other basic PDFs in Reader. I have another machine with an identical setup, except that it has Acrobat 11.0.03 instead of Reader, and the PDF opens just fine on that machine. Why won't Reader open the Flash-enabled PDF?

How to install Flash Player with Windows Vista 64 bit?
IE 9, Windows Vista 64-bit, Flash Player quit working and won't install. Error Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55. I have deactivated User Accounts and Security, gone to Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and Run as Administrator NPSWF32_FlashUtil, and still not working. One suggestion was to run an add-on from Macromedia, but that failed and I don't know what the add-on was. Have also run System Restore and restored all my Internet security setttigs to default. Nothing is working!
If you can not see the moving sphere: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Check the following:
Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer 9
ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer 9
Also check this:
In I.E.9, click Tools, click Internet options, click Security tab, ensure that the Internet security level is Medium-high. -
Acrobat reader 10.0.x for windows and flash player update
i don't understand why my client require the update of reader (update of 10.0.1), but in the download page (.msp file) i can't find nothing. the other problem was about the update of flash player....i need to distribute the update over GPO, but adobe doesn't release from download page....is because the update are integrated in acrobat reader new release?
the metod is wrong! security is very important and release the updated version of software is also foundamental! IT Pro need an update (.msp or .msi) for the reader and for player.....faster not when you want
so....how you think to resolve this problem? how i can resolve my problem about the update? Here you'll find the msi and msp files for the Acrobat Reader ("reader" folder on ftp) and Acrobat Pro ("acrobat" folder on ftp). ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/ . Save the link to your bookmarks.
For updating/installing Flash Player you'll have to go over here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
There's a distribution license needed to deploy the flash player (don't ask my why the hell you'll have to get a license to deploy it in internal environments, although you can download and install it without the license).
Best of luck, i needed a hole day to preparing deployment of cs5.5 and flash player etc. because of lack of information or consistency at the adobe pages and different methods for diffrent products. There should be a way to charge adobe the time it needs to get started, because they earn a damn lot of money with their cs products so they should provide better methods to do these tasks... but thats an endless story, because they're a monopolistic global player i think they aren't really interested in the needs of customers. There's not a real alternative, especially in education you're bound to use it, so you're gonna buy it anyway... -
I tried playing a you tube video, but received a message prompt to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. The link to Adobe stated that there are issues with MAC OS X 10.7 and Flash Player 10.3. The new version did not download. Any Suggestion
Hi Seattle
From Adobe site only!
flashplayer11_b1_install_mac_071311.dmg
Works fine.

32-Bit Windows 7 IE8/9 Flash Player Size issue.
I have a 24inch 1920x1080 monitor. I want to read the text on the screen but at the IE defualt of 100% it gets very tideous trying to read the wrighting and its the same with Adobe Flash player it becomes ridiculously small. I like to have my browser at 150% everything fits the screen better you dont have these giant borders on either side of what you are looking at and you can read the wrighting easier, but here comes the problem adobe flash player video (minus youtube videos) stays the same size as if I was still at 100% and doesn't fill the flash player margains. id expect the video to enlarge with the browser? No?
Before you ask ive turned off hardware acceleration and that did not work. Thanks for the reply.

Hi, it would be best to see what you do have Installed in the Flash folder. Post that info back. Right click on the NPSWF files and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash contains:
flashplayer.xpt
install.log
NPSWF32.dll (File version: 10.0.45.2)
NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe (File version: 10.0.45.2)
uninstall_plugin.exe

Also, using IE, go to Tools, manage add ons and search ALL add ons for Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10e.ocx should be listed and make sure it is Enabled.
I don't have any Flash IE plugin. Don't really use IE, just Firefox. Nothing Shockwave Flash related listed in there.
eidnolb wrote:
When you said you removed the plug-in for Firefox, I'm not sure I understand what you removed. Did you not re-install Flash Player for Firefox when you ran the Uninstaller for Flash Player?
Thanks,
eidnolb
I should have made that more clear. I went to Control Panel -> Uninstall a program and then removed it there. After that, the folder was still there in the system32 directory so I renamed it to be safe that the old is not being used. Then I went to Adobe.com and installed the flash player through the browser with their download manager.
