Hi, mikev_01.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Issues connecting to the iTunes Store can be due to multiple causes and not always a simple fix.  I would recommend going through each of the steps in the attached articles below.  Be sure to test the results after processing each step.

When I run the diagnostic tool for network connectivity, my network connects but I get a Red light that says "SECURE LINK TO THE ITUNES STORE FAILED".
Can anyone help me on this problem?

ITunes won't connect all I get is the "accessing iTunes store......". With the bar scrolling but no connection.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • IPhone user, Can Not Access iTunes Store, Using Windows 7

    Dear Sir
I used to access the iTune Store from my computer everyday. But since a couple of weeks I started receiving the following (Connecting to the iTune Store) message after clicking on the Store link in iTunes.
    http://i50.tinypic.com/1glc8.jpg
It just stays there loading forever.
But I can access the store normally using my iPhone and using other laptops over the same network.
What can the reason be? I am using the latest versions of iTunes and iPhone on Windows 7.
I have tried the iTunes built-in connectivity test and it passed all the tests, I have tried re-installing iTunes, And I have also checked support article (TS1470) and I already have the mentioned options enabled.
    Thanks.

With that one, try launching iTunes. Go "Edit > Preferences" and select the "Parental control" tab.
Is "Disable iTunes Store" checked? If so, try unchecking that and clicking OK.
Can you get through to the Store now?

  • Can not access itunes store..was always able to until a few days ago

I am using windows XP and since I downloaded the latest version of itunes I am not able to access the itunes store.  I have tried to turn off the pop up blocker, add itunes to my exception list in my firewall and several other fixes listed on other sites...all to no avail.  I even removed itunes completely from my computer and reinstalled it but nothing works.  Any thoughts???

If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset and are running any kind of net monitoring software like Bsecure, Net Nanny, AVG Family Safety, Safe Eyes, Covenant Eyes, Norton Online Security etc... I would suggest that you try uninstalling said software and reinstalling iTunes 10.5 to see if that corrects the issue.
Refer to article TS4123. Follow the step to identify which software in your system is the culprit and uninstall it.

    Last Modified: November 28, 2011
    Article: TS4123
    Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms after installing iTunes 10.5 for Windows:
    iTunes is slow to respond
    Windows is slow to respond
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Some processes installed by iTunes are using up a lot of resources in the Windows Task Manager.
iTunes Store looks empty and white as shown below:
    Products Affected
iTunes Store, iTunes 10 for Windows
    Resolution
Look for modifications to Windows by:
Running MSINFO32 by choosing either Start > Run, or using the search box to search for
Once it is open, expand Components and then expand Network.
Click Protocol. The first value should look like this:
However, if you find a value that is more like this, it indicates that there's an LSP (Layered Service Provider) monitoring your computer:
"<LSP Info>" is variable and may specifically mention a software suite, or appear to be a meaningless acronym
Scroll through the list on the right and look for any LSPs that have been installed by third-party software. By default, the Windows OS will have 10 values:
    MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]
    MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP]
    RSVP UDP Service Provider
    RSVP TCP Service Provider
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
The value above repeated 5 times with additional variables at the end
Note:811259.Once you've identified the third-party LSPs, determine which software placed them there. Here is a partial list of LSPs you might run into and the software that may have placed it there:
    Product or Manufacturer
    LSP Name
    Bigfoot Networks
    BfLLR over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IPv6]]
    ByteMobile, Inc.
    BMI over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    Covenant Eyes
Covenant Eyes Monitoring over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    PC Tools / Spyware Doctor
    PCTOOLS over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    SafeEyes
Internet Content Filter over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    SpeedBit Video Accelerator
    SBLSP over [MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]]
    VMWare
    VMCI sockets DGRAM
Once you've identified the third-party software that installed the LSP, you can remove that software. If the software is your security software, see iTunes: Troubleshooting security software issues for additional information.
    Note:locate vendor information
    Reset the WinSock key
If you are unable to identify the software that installed the LSP, you are unable to remove this software because it performs an important function for you, or you've removed this software and the issue persists, you may wish to reset the WinSock key.
To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7:
    Windows XP:Enter the following command:
    netsh winsock reset
Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP.

  • Can not access Itunes Store.

I've never had a problem before, but I have been unable to connect the last few days. I have tried the Troubleshooting tips. When I try to connect it says that my network connection was refused. Any help? Thanks.

    Hi thasubliminal,
Try disabling windows firewall and any antivirus software you have (Norton, in particular, have been known to interfere with access to the itunes store), as well as any scanning software like a malware scanner. Then try it.
If it DOES work, you need to configure your settings on these programs so that they could run and allow you store access.
    Hope this helps!

Just lately I cannot access the itunes store-- have been using it for years-- it just remains a blank screen

    Hello there, trittie.
It sounds like you are having issues connecting to the iTunes Store and getting a blank page.  The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for verifying connectivity:

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.

Yes. Install iTunes, enable the iPod for it, authorize the PC and sync. iTunes should copy all files to library.
    Nope, doesn't work that way.
Copy the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer.
    iDevices are not backups.
You can transfer iTunes purchases from an iDevice to an iTunes library, but attempting to sync to a new, empty library will wipe the content on the iDevice.

  • I can't access itunes store on my pc

Since downloading itunes 10.5 update I can not access itunes store on my pc and could before. The status bar stalls halfway. I uninstalled itunes and re-installed it and that didn't help. This is what iTunesStoreSupport wrote:
the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections, which indicates that the issue is related to your internet connection, local network, or your local computer itself. This article outlines some of the likely culprits:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
Meanwhile, certain types of software can affect the way a computer sends and receives information from the Internet. Here are a few examples of these types of software:
    - Firewalls
    - Web accelerators
    - Ad filters
    - Virus protection software
If you have any of this kind of software installed on your computer, Franka, you will need to configure each of the applications to allow your internet connection to access iTunes freely. For instructions, please refer to the documentation that came with that software, or contact the software's manufacturer. You'll need to configure the software to allow these domains to send and receive data from the Internet freely:
    itunes.apple.com
    ax.itunes.apple.com
Moving on, for assistance in configuring your firewall or accelerator software, you may need to contact the manufacturer or your Internet service provider (ISP). When contacting their support representatives, it may be useful to have the following information:

The following article helps Windows users pinpoint software conflicts that could cause the error:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275
Nonetheless, please note that the iTunes Store cannot investigate every user's connection issue. Apple Support Communities are another source of information about iTunes, where everyone from new users to professionals can interact and share their knowledge and experiences. You may find another user with the same operating system or ISP that may be able to help resolve this issue. You can find the iTunes discussions group at:

If you are using a dial-up connection, you might consider downloading your purchases over a broadband connection, if you have access to one.
