Windows 8.1 Can't see excel.exe in Office folder using Explorer but I can see it when I do a search.
I am trying to associate Excel.exe with a spreadsheet file used by the State of Wyoming *.wog. When I used the "Open with" command it doesn't show Excel in the Office14 folder even though a "Search" of the C: Drive shows that is
exactly its location. When I right click the Excel.exe file that was found from the search I have the option to open the folder. Doing so shows me all the files in the Office14 folder instead of only the fraction that shows
up in Explorer.
I have administrator rights and have checked the boxes under "view" to show all folders and files including system folders.
Why are all the *.exe files in Office14 impossible to access using Explorer or the "Open With" Command?

If your Win8.1 was 64bit version and Office 2010 32bit version, when you used "open with" to find Office programs the default path was C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14. It was a 64bit version path.
Thus, we need to choose the 32bit path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14. Please try it.

Is there a way for my daughter or her friends to block their numbers from showing up on activities page. At first i could see them, as of yesterday i can no longer see the numbers in the activities page. But i do see that she has texted them when looking at her phone.
First of all, there is no need to put the entire text of your post into the title of your thread.
Next, does your daughter have an iPhone? Do her friends have iPhones? If the answer to both questions is "yes", then it is possible she is not texting them, but using iMessage to communicate with them. iMessages will not show up in the texting traffic on a line as they are not texts, but messages sent thru Apple's servers.
For all "texts" to show up in the texting activity of an iPhone, you must disable iMessage on the device. Any messages sent as iMessages(blue bubbles around the text) on an iPhone will not show up in any texting activity. -

It sounds like you are unable find these TV shows you purchased in a series, but you have been charged for them. I would start by checking to see if you can download them from your Purchases in the iTunes Store with this article:

The steps are different if you are on an iOS device vs. a computer, so choose the appropriate section for the device you want to download them to.

Help. I downloaded the OS lion. Then I imported some photos with the "iPhoto". But I see only the photos in the "last import" but I can not see in the library or photos of events, although they are marked as a number.

Using an older operating system, when I used spotlight for a serch I was able to see where the document or folder is located.
Now, I see an image thats nice, but I must open it it find out where it is stored. Perhaps this is a setting change?
I search not always to open, but just to see where like files are stored.Ok sorry. Yes it doesn't anymore but I think you can right click on the entry in the SL search and select either Get Info or Open in Finder and then it will display the location of that file. I don't use spotlight as I think it is @^%$&. I use Easyfind.
Apple doesn't think the user needs to know the path of their files so they removed that feature of spotlight. -

I looked into this further, and reading an AVI file into LabVIEW faster than its frames per second won't be possible. LabVIEW could read in frames faster than 25fps, but because it will be pulling the available frame at that point in time this would just give you duplicate frames. If you want to be able to read in frames at faster than 25fps, you would need to speed up your AVI file before reading into LabVIEW.
There's a good shipping example to show how to read in from an AVI file, "Read AVI File.vi". You'll notice that they add timing to make sure that the while loop runs at the right speed to match up with the frames per second of the file being read. This is to make sure you're not reading duplicate frames.

I have transferred my itunes library to an external drive. I then attached the external disk to a new computer. I can now access all songs from the new computer. But I can't access playlists. I can still access all songs and playlists on the old computer
If you right mouse and select Get info it will show you the Apple ID used to purchase these songs.
Usually the name of an apple id is based on the email. So knowing that you may have forgotten the Apple ID password.

I have an imac with IMAP email. have managed to partially sync up my ipad with it in that I can receive the same emails that appear on my imac but I can't send from my ipad. Any ideas?
That sounds like a settings issue to me. Check with your IT depatment to make sure you have it configured properly.

I want to burn my imovie to a dvd. All the help info says to use idvd but I can't get it to open. The applecare guy said idvd is no longer included in new macs, so why are all the instructions still saying to use it? Is one of the other software offerings, like dvd Cfreator for Mac, ok to use for this? What's the best one?
Please clarify what you mean by "you can't get it to open". Is iDVD on your system or not? If this is a new iMac, iDVD is no longer bundled with new Macs, so the application just isn't there and hence of course can't be opened. You can still purchase it as part of the retail iLife '11 box, though, if you want it, and it would be less expensive than DVD Creator (which I have no experience with), even though you'll get some redundant applications.
