Windows 8.1 cannot find network connections

i have installed windows 8.1 through boot camp on my retina macbook pro with osx mavericks 10.9.1 2 times now and both times it cannot find my network. ive read online and tried everything and nothing works. i would like to get this resolved because my windows partition is basically useless without internet connection. thanks in advance

When you are using Microsoft Account to login to Windows 8.1, you could work offline and you could just sign-in with your account without connecting to internet.

    If you haven't yet installed the Windows Support Software, that's probably why, so install it now.

  • HP Deskjet 3050a cannot find network printer

    I need to find out what my IP address is for my printer.  I may have changed it accidently when I was trying to set up my printer to a new router.  I have reset the default settings.  I have tried to go to HP file where it says I can change my IP address and I get the error "cannot find network printer".  I have done all of the obvious deinstall, reinstall, added MAC address to router. Nothing will recognize my printer.  Please help.  Thank you

    Hello again,
    OK, thanks for the updated information.  Try these steps...
    Changing wireless settings
    If you decide to change the wireless network settings for your wireless home network, you will need to configure your wireless printer with the new settings.
    To configure the new wireless settings on a printer that features a Wireless Setup Wizard:
    From the printer’s control panel, open the Wireless Settings menu. Many products provide access to the Wireless Settings by pressing the Wireless Button or touching the Wireless icon on the printer’s control panel. Consult the printer’s help documentation if you do not know how to access the Wireless Settings menu.
    From the Wireless Settings menu select Wireless Setup Wizard. The Wireless Setup Wizard will guide you through the process of configuring your printer with the new wireless settings. Input your Wireless Network Name and Wireless Password when prompted.
    You can print a Wireless Network Test report from the Wireless settings menu to confirm the printer was successfully connected to your network.
    To configure your wireless settings on a printer that does not feature a Wireless Setup Wizard:
    First, make sure your computer is connected to your network. You will also need a USB cable, which is temporarily used during the configuration. Be sure NOT to connect the USB cable between the computer and printer until instructed to do so by the software.
    If your HP printer software is already installed on your computer Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Use Start -> Programs -> HP -> <your printer model> -> Printer Setup & Software. Windows 8:
    Launch the Printer Software from the Start screen (icon for the printer model name) or from the tile named for your printer.
    Select (click or touch) Utilities on the top of the Printer Software screen
    Select Printer Setup & Software

  • Error message, Cannot find iTunes Connect user

    I cant access my I tunes from my Iphone, I get the following. Authentication Error. Cannot find iTunes connect user (2002)(2002)

    Hello wallydt,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    For more information on this, take a look at:
    Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Check USB connections
    If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
    To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
    Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
    Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
    Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
    Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
    If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Cannot establish network connection

    Hi,
    I have Asus M4A89GTD/PRO USB3 motherboard and I'd like to install Arch. But I cannot establish network connection. When I try dhcpcd or dhclient, request everytime times out.
    Eth0:
    05:00.0 Ethernet Controller: Realtek Semiconductor CO., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 06)
    dhcpcd:
    dhcpcd: eth0: waiting for carrier
    dhcpcd: timed out
    I've tried r8169 and 8169too modules and none of them worked.
    Thank you

    Try to config network in /etc/rc.conf
    HOSTNAME="arch"
    #eth0="eth0 192.168.0.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255" <--- for static IP
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    Wiki say: Tha gateway can usually ignore, though some users have reported the need to define it. Try config it
    PS: Sure eth0 are your network card?

  • Cannot find network printer

    I have the following problem:
    I want to use a printer (HP Officejet 5600 series) in a Windows network. My MacBook is connected to this network by AirPort to a Netgear router. Unfortunately my MacBook cannot find the printer.
    Can anybody help?

    Is the printer connected to a P, or directly to the router? Connected via USB or parallel port? If connected to the router, I assume the router has built in print server?
    My HP is connected to an Apple Extreme via USB which built in print server. In the Mac, I went to System Preferences, then Print and Fax. When I clicked on the little "+" button on the bottom left (to add a printer), Bonjour was able to find the printer off the Extreme server.
    But, I am currently having problems with it - used to work, now quit printing!

  • K7N2 Delta2 :: Onboard NIC Once Flawless, Now cannot find Network

    Hello, and thank you for reading my Support Query!
    Heres the Deal. For the past Couple of Months, I've had little to no problems with my K7N2D2. Everything worked to my expectations.
    Until Last Night, was online, and downloading some Bittorrent Files when all my connections suddenly drop'd from Maximum to Nothing.
    First Thought : ADSL Dropped or Router Stalled...  So, I Restart ze Modem, Restart the Hub. All their Flashes go Normally, and I wait a few moments for everything to Synch Up. Then Tried refreshing google.com .. to No Avail, its -instantly- reporting it cannot find the address, yadda yadda.
    2nd Thought : Oh, maybe Verizon's Service was interrupted... But No, I walk into the other room, where my Bro's Comp is at, and the Net is Fully Functional and Online. [ He also has a K7N2-D2 MB.. The Comp which im typing at right now]
    Weirdness : I Cannot Connect to the Routers IP Address. I Cannot even Connect to any other the computers on the Network. [ This all Used to Work Perfectly, Small Home Network of 3 Comps, With Lots of Read Only Shared Folders, for Music / Movies ]
    Continued Wierdness : Everything in the Device Manager seems to Say everything is in perfect working Order, and I Can Ping Local Address [ 127.0.0.1 ] With No Problem. I Tried Pinging the Router, but it couldnt find Destination?
    ipconfig/all  Reports that, DHCP is Enabled, AutoConfig is Enabled, but it cant find the Gateway or DHCP Server.
    What is going on? Did I Fry the NIC with too Many Torrents?
    I Tried Hooking up a Old D-Link NIC Card I've had around for awhile, Not Sure why but it didnt want to Work.. Maybe cuzz its been sitting in storage for years.
    Help is greatly appreciated, Is there anyway I Can run a diagnostic on the Onboard NIC? Yarr.

    Hi all.
    I'm new here, but have to write, coz I have exactly the same problem, like Nookovski.
    I'm using my K7N2 D2platinum for more than 1 years, without any problem, using the onboard LAN for internet (connected to ADSL cable modem), and another Ethernet card for internal LAN.
    2 days ago, I was playing network game with friends, when suddenly my connection was lost. I tried to reach homepages, but no avail. Try to ping some common addresses, nothing happens, 100% lost.
    I rebooted, and saw, that my ip address for netconnection changed to 163... etc. This is weird, coz originally my ISP always give some 80... etc from DHCP.
    I tried renew my ip, no success.
    Called my ISP, they said, they can see my modem, but can't see my PC. I have to plug the cable to my another ethernet card for a moment - I did it, and they saw my pc in this case. They adviced to reinstall my onboard NIC driver. OK, perhaps later.
    After all, I found an old Ethernet card (Realtek family) in my case, so I installed it. After a quick reboot my netconnection was fine through this new card. So no network problem on ISP side, there is something with my onboard LAN.
    I tried to uninstall / remove the driver from hardware settings panel, but the window freezes. If I reboot in safe mode, and try to remove again, windows says : cannot remove, device is needed for operation. (or smth like this)
    I tried reinstall LAN components from the latest MSI driverset, but nothing changed. I think it cannot overwrite the old (damaged?) files.
    Now I'm using 2 PCI eth.card, one to connect with another PC, and one for internet. I disabled the onboard LAN from bios. But this is annoying, I don't understand  what happend from one minute to another, and I would like to use my integrated NIC!
    I found some posts here, advising to set the MAC address in bios manually, regarding to a sticker on the mobo, but I don't have such an option in BIOS.
    What should I do now? Are there any solution?
    Thanx!

  • Cannot find Internet Connect Icon

    I am using Leopard 10.5.4.
    I want to setup a VPN connection and found an article which describes how to go about setting the VPN connection. But it uses Internet Connect icon and according to the article it is found in the 'Applications' folder. I cannot find the 'Internet Connect' icon in Applications.
    Please can someone help ?
    Zapp

    Internet Connect has (thankfully) been removed from Leopard. You can now set up a VPN with the Network Preferences. Click on the + icon below the list of network services to get a window with popup menu that has VPN as one of the interface choices.

  • Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) - All network connections fail at least once a day

    Hi,
    We have Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) running, with the MSI 3.2 installed as well.
    At least once a day my computer stops making network connections (Outlook gets disconnected, Internet Explorer cannot connect to Google, Chrome also fails). When I shut down and restart Jabber all network IO resumes.
    Has anyone seen this behavior?
    I've made two problem reports for this. Is anyone interested?
    Regards,
    Erik Tamminga
    PS. Server side we're running all 9.1 versions.

    We had the same issue and logged a TAC case, and the final result was to uninstall media services as mentioned above. Obviously now you no longer have desk phone video.
    The new 9.2 beta has a new media service version, and the rollout of the new 9.2 client is mid march I believe, so hopefully this rectifies the problems, because if it doesn't I think this would not be a good thing for Jabber as a product unfortunately.
    Cheers

  • Cannot find wifi connection anymore

    I purchased my iphone this past March and everything has been working fine until now. Last Thursday I was on wifi downloading an app that was about 12MB. After making the purchase, I was disconnected from wifi and could not proceed with the download.
    I continually tried connecting, but could not find the network. It is now Monday and after resetting the network settings, trying the airplane mode trick, updating to the latest version, and restoring I still cannot find the network. I've tried on multiple networks too and still no luck. I tried phoning Tech Support but they said I'd have to pay for phone support. Any suggestions? hardware problem? Have no idea who to send it to if needing replacement. No Apple store near by either.

    So I have two iphones (3G and 3GS) in the family, an ipod touch (1st gen), an IMAC, AppleTV, MAC Book and a MAC Book Pro. An new dual band Apple Airport Extreme and dual Apple Airport Extreme.
    The computers & Apple TV connect just find to my network (security is WPA/WPA Personal). The iphones and ipod touch cannot connect worth a hoot. My neighbor has a Belkin network (no security) and both phones and touch connect just fine. I am totally flummoxed. I have tried resetting the network settings on the iphones but to no avail. The only time the devices connect is when the phone or touch is literally within a foot of the base station.
    any suggestions?

  • Cannot find networks after wake from sleep

    I cannot find anyone else posting with this exact issue. Ever since the 10.5.8 update, my 13" MB Pro will not see any of the 10 wireless networks around my place. If I turn the Airport connection off and on again, it seems them and immediately connects to my network as well. Yes, I've zapped the PRAM.
    Anyone have any experience with this exact issue?

    I'm having, I think, the exact same issue. Since installing Snow Leopard, my internet connection is fine while the computer is awake. However, every time I return from shutdown/sleep or restart, I get the message stating "Your chosen network is not available, please choose another" (or whatever the actual wording is). So I click on the network icon and sure enough, my network is in the list, but I have to click and type my password every time. I've been looking into forums and suggested fixes; so far, to no avail.

  • Windows 8 driver cannot find HP Officejet Pro L7590 ethernet printer on my new router

    I'm changing to a new router and had to change the IP address of my ethernet Officejet Pro L7590 from fixed assigned 192.168.1.7 into fixed assigned 192.168.2.168 (my new provider provided router doesn't support the 192.168.1.xx range). At installation my PC Driver cannot find my HP Officejet Pro L7590 ethernet printer, both not by it's search function, nor by giving the specific new IP address.  Browsing and login into the printer by adressing the new Static IP address works however fine: de printer is well attached. What do I wrong with at PC driver installation, any suggestions to have the printer coupled to the PC driver?
    Update: Connecting the printer directly to the router instead of via a switch solved  the problem!

    The Officejet Pro L7590 unfortunately will not be updated to support AirPrint. Check out my [FAQ|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2658560&tstart=0] thread for some other options.
    Just trying to help.

  • Firefox V4 opens Windows error message "Cannot find...."

    I updated Firefox to version 4. Now, every time I open Firefox a Windows Error popup appears stating...
    Windows cannot find
    'https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&rand=832809823&i=IWZkZHNKIXRzZnNydEpidXV4dSF0ZEqOZHh4fH5iU356YmNYcnM%3d&.src=ym'
    In spite of the error message, Firefox proceeds to open normally and takes me to Yahoo.com. Closing the error message has no affect pro or con...so, the message is merely a nuisance. I've tried everything I can think of to permanently remove it with no success. Running a deep scan to find out if it is a virus didn't find anything. Am using XP Home edition. By the way, I get a similar Windows error message when I try to open GMAIL, and Firefox then opens my GMAIL account. Weird.
    Am hoping someone can tell me how to prevent these messages from appearing. Thanks in advance!

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
