Windows 8.1 couldn't be installed. Error code 0X80070083

I have a Dell OptiPlex 3010 with Windows 8 Pro and it's activated. Undergone full Windows Update and it's completed.
Log in with a Microsoft account and so far no problem. But while upgrade to Windows 8.1 through STORE, I got at initial stage the following message error :
"Something happened and the Windows 8.1 couldn't be installed. Please try again. Error code 0X80070083"
Worked around again to troubleshoot this issue. Given my Login Microsoft account the administrator privilege and launch windows update again. No problem on Action Center for troubleshooting. But still same message as mentioned above when download 3.6GB Windows
8.1.
What's going wrong?

Hi,
Let’s check if we can find something in Windowsupdate.log or CBS.log.
You can also, try to restart Windows Store service and Windows Update service in Service Manager.

This error occurs if one of your system components has become corrupted, or has not been registered correctly when installing/uninstalling service packs or other applications. Any detailed information about this failed installation that prompted for
you?
To eliminate some potential problems, I suggest you follow the tips below:
Download and run the
Upgrade Assistant first.
Temporarily disable your antivirus, antimalware, firewall, etc.
Keep enough disk space for downloaded and installed files.
Delete the temp files of the failed installation.
Perform the installation in Clean boot mode.

I cannot update from OS X 10.9.4 t0 10.9.5> Whenever I try I get the following message: File couldn't be installed error (513) and something about not having the proper permission. Under the Macintosh HD sharing and permissions settings I have customized the settings so that (Me) has read and write permission followed by the system with read and write permission, wheel and everyone have Read permissions.
I have no problems updating apps such as Adobe CC or iTunes but cannot update the operating system, can someone help me? Thanks.

1. Restart the computer in safe mode. Certain caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.
Safe mode is much slower to start up than normal. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
When the login screen appears, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and test. There's no need to log in while in safe mode.

Windows 8.1 something happened and windows 8.1 couldn't be installed.

After the release of windows 8.1 preview I attempted the installation of 8.1 preview which failed. I decided it wasn't worth the bother until it was officially released so I left it uninstalled.
After the official release of 8.1 yesterday I opened the store on my windows 8 PC and I was presented with the Windows 8.1 download. I selected this and attempted to install. this failed with the message "Something happened and Windows 8.1 Preview
failed to install" Whoops!
I clearly hadn't done my windows updates to update the store so I ran these updates and in my windows store was the Official windows 8.1 download.
Once downloaded it then fails saying "Something happened and windows 8.1 Pro couldn't be installed Please try again Error Code 0x80070003"
now im stuck with that. is there a way I can clear the downloaded files and have the store re-download them? where are the stores downloads kept?
im really stuck with this one....

Welcome to the Forums.
If the conexant audio drivers from the lenovo website doesn't detect the device, can you try to:
1. Open Device Manager (press Winkey+R > type devmgmt.msc)
2. On the device manager, open Sound, video, and game controllers and Other Devices then check the status (if there's a yellow exclamation mark, error codes, etc.)
3. As an alternative, try this conexant driver from station-drivers:
Conexant High Definition Smart Audio
Version 8.64.59.52 (Win8)

Creative Cloud install error code 11

When I try to install CS6 from Creative Cloud Website, AAM initialized, downloading and unzipping was just fine, but installing is failed.
AAM said "Application Manager was executed. Retry after Application Manager getting done. (11)"
Of course there is no another instance.

Did you mean '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps/pdb.db & caps.db' ?
There is no file like these. Also There is no folder like caps.
Actually I try to
- Download and run the CS6 Cleaner Tool and remove everything CS6 related form ~/Library and /Library
- Reboot
- Reinstall Acrobat X through AAM and install updates
- Reinstall remaining CS6 products
but same result.

1) Open Control Panel and Navigate to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features .
Under Program and Features list, locate the option : Adobe Creative Cloud and uninstall the same.
2) Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
3) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder.
4) Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.
Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

Then navigate to Local>Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named AAMUpdater and OOBE.
5) Click on the below link and download Creative Cloud setup file and use the same to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

Windows 8.1 installation failed due to error code 0x80240031

I tried to update my OS to windows 8.1 single language from windows 8 pc. But my installations was unsuccesful due to error code 0x80240031 . What is the problem and what is it's solution

How did you upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1? Through Windows Store? To resolve this problem. Firstly, please check and install all Windows update, and upgrade hardware driver to be latest. After that, please try to create a new user account and upgrade
system again.
If problem persists, please access to the path below to check Windows installation log:
setupact.log and setuperr.log in c:\windows.~BT\Sources\Panther. If this folder not exit, please check setupact log in C:\Windows\Panther. You may find the reason for this problem. You also can provide these log to us, we can help you analyze these log together.

Exchange Server 2013 Missing file on ISO install Error Code 1603

Hi all, a mystery needs solving any suggestions much appreciated:
We are trying to install Exchange Server 2013 on Windows 2012 server.
The ISO File being used is: SW_DVD9_Exchange_Svr_2013w_SP1_MultiLang_Std_Ent_MLF_X19-35118
All preparation and requisites in place.
During Stage 2 Copying files, we receive an error code 1603 and installation halts.
The error states:
Installing product F:\exchangeserver.msi failed. Fatal error during installation. Error code is 1603. Last error reported by the MSI package is 'Source file not found: F:\Setup\ServerRoles\ClientAccess\Owa\prem\version\resources\themes\base\0\microsoft.o365.controls.timeline.mouse.css.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.'.
We have verified that the Path in the error is correct and exists BUT the file is not present within the 0 folder.
We have downloaded the ISO from our Action Pack resources twice and attempted 4 separate installations.
We have tried both Mailbox/Client Access and Mailbox only installations.
The missing file: microsoft.o365.controls.timeline.mouse.css. Hopefully the only file misisng???
Any ideas anyone, could we source a different ISO or copy of the file or ?????

Had the same issue with Exchange 2013 SP 1 Downloaded as an ISO from the Volume License Center, installing on a new Server 2012R2 STD box. I found the equivalent file in another ISO but discovered it was just an empty CSS file. So the easiest way is to not
bother trying to find the file but: 1) open notepad, 2) set save to "All Files", and 3) save an empty CSS file with that filename then place it in the directory indicated in the path given in the error. (Make sure it saves as
a CSS and not as a TXT.)
I reran the install and it completed without issue.

Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables (x64) won't install error code 2381

Hi, i'm trying to install some dev tools but this redistributable package won't install... it keep getting the 2381 error code and i'm trying different ways to install it. I've tried the compatibility mode, and ofc i'm running it as admin always.
I just installed VS Express 2013 for Desktop, but i need the 64 version of this libs so i need to install apart.
I'm under Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 64 bits. The windows update system is working ok, there's no errors on the updates, everyting is updated ok. I've also run the sfc /scannow, no problems.
I need this to install win64 openssl. Help plz!

1. Most probably the problems stems from missing/wrong framework 3.5x.
2. On the other way C++ redistributable is compatible up to W 7, so the compatibility mode may or need not work for you.
