Windows 8.1 Crashed during WEC2013 installation

I successfully installed WEC2013 (update 5), afterwards I attempted to install WEC2013 Update 11.  It appeared to be going along fine and then Windows 8.1  blue screened.   Once I rebooted, I tried to launch the installer again,
naively hoping it would pick up where it left off and everything would continue on normally, of course, no such luck.  The WEC splash screen comes up for about 5 seconds and then goes away, no error message, no nothing.
I tried this with the update 5 installer as well as the update 11 installer, same behavior for both.   I went to Programs & Features, in an attempt to uninstall from there but same behavior as above.
Before I start manually deleting folders, I thought I would see if someone had some ideas on what I might try.
Thanks in advance.

My guess is SQL Server 2008 R2.

  • VMware slices Crash during Grid installation [ Ora 11 G R2,VMware Linux ]

    Hi,
Iam using Windows Xp [ 32 bit  ] with 4 GB RAM and 150 GB Hard-disk.
I have installed VMWare Server with 2 RAC nodes [ along with the shared disk ], following the steps given at oracle-base.com.
However, during the grid installation, vmware slices [ RAC1, RAC2 ] are getting closed automatically, when i run "root.sh" on rac2 node.
The script ran fine on node1 [ rac1 ] and this problem is occuring only during rac2 run.
I have kept the memory as 2GB each and allocated 45 GB each with 10 GB for each shared disk.
Requesting help/info on the above, as why the nodes come down, during the installation.
Also, wanted to know, lets say, if grid installation failed and we found/fixed the problem. Can we re-run the grid installation from the point, it failed ?
    Regards
    Roopesh M.

VMWare is not supported for Oracle Clusterware/RAC. That may itself be the reason. Oracle VM is tested and supported. Perhaps you may want to try that

  • Windows support software crashes during load

Ok fellas, 5 days and counting. I  have tried for 5 days to get the Windows support software to load and so  far...no joy. I have a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro, running Mavericks, 8 GB of  RAM, PLENTY of HDD space and 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors.  Should be a piece of cake right...nope.
Each  time software support setup dumps at approximately the same spot,  somewhere around the MacHAL.sys or Apple time services. I have the  Windows 7 disc with the iso image, I have an 8 GB USB flashdrive and  Windows 7 installed on the partition.
I  do not have the original software disc that came with my MacBook, that  is in a box somewhere between my current location (not Okinawa) and  Okinawa.
I  hope I have provided enough information for one of you Mac Geniuses out  there to tell me what to do. This is the first time I have not been  able to solve an issue with my MacBook...again, no joy.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply Bob.
I am trying to install 4.0.4033 version of Windows support software downloaded from Apple. I did find a copy of OSX Lion I had made when I upgraded to that version but I am not sure if that will work or not. I have tried many, many things but it always does the same thing, crash when it gets to KeyAgent Services or MacHal.sys ... somewhere around there.
I did read somewhere that the Mid-2009 MacBook Pro has a 64 bit architecture but the support software does not allow installation of the 64 bit parts...odd.
    Again, thanks for the reply.

  • After a crash during the installation of Captivate, the installation program does not "initialize" and the installation procedure stops. Any suggestion?

I bought “Captivate” few days ago. I received the internet address to download the program and the activation number. I downloaded the program (OK), started the installation program (OK) and received indications that the decompression process was OK. Then the installation started and I was asked to introduce the activation number (OK). After this, a bar showing the progress of the installation was shown on the screen. The bar stopped at 2%. I waited more than 20 min and saw no progress. Then I decided to start the “windows task manager” to see if the process was active. I have windows 7, so I pressed alt-ctrl-del  and received the message (2-5 min later) that the task manager could not start. I waited more time (more than 1 hour) and since the installation progress was still indicating 2% and since I still could not activate the task manager, I rebooted the computer.
I then tried to reinstall the program. After the decompression, I receive the message:”Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe support advisor to detect the problem”. I followed the link to discover that the program is no more available.
    What should I do?

  • Windows 7 Computer Crashes During Gameplay

So, I understand I have an old laptop that I have been doing repairs to myself which has made it able to last past four years so far, heres the issue I am having though.
I could be playing just about any game and will play for maybe 10 minutes then the screen goes black then shuts off on me. I ran CPU-Z & HWMonitor and the temp shows CPU is at about 75C. I had just installed a new HDD as the old one became corrupt and
stopped working, installed windows 7 perfectly fine on it no problem. Battery status reads as "Good" and I had just cleaned out the fan of any settling dust. I am not sure if needed but here are the specs below.
    -Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) with Intel Core i7 processor, Q740 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), 6 Gigs of RAM (6144MB RAM)
Either or, I am probably going to sell it for what I can and build my own gaming rig or just go to Best Buy, but before so, I would like to see if I can find out the cause of why it is shutting down. I know there are a large number of possibilities of why
it could be doing so, but if I can get help narrowing it down, that would be great.
    Thanks!

To be able to troubleshoot what might be causing your system to crash, we need the dump files. In an ideal situation, more than one file would be needed to establish a pattern so if you do have more than one, please upload them.
Please refer to the link below for steps to retrieve, zip and upload them to the file sharing site like onedrive, google's "dropbox, etc.
When you are done, make the folder public and share the link here.

  • Trouble downloading Snow Leopard sw updates- system crashes during update installs. I'm only trying to get to the AppStore to download

I've upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard... fine.
Installing the system updates (the AppStore isn't in the Snow Leopard install, just available via a system update)
The updates appear to have downloaded ok, then the system restarts to install, and .... CRASH. All's I'm trying to do is legally get to Lion.
I have a 15" Macbook Pro, 2gb ram, dual core Intel, 120gb drive.
Should I re-install Snow Leopard, or anyone have any good ideas?  I suppose it could even be a hardware problem of some sort, but the system seeems stable unless I try to do the sw updates.
    Please help!
    Thanks all!

dual core Intel   /    All's I'm trying to do is legally get to Lion.
    Lion requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
From here > Apple - OS X Lion - Technical specifications
Click your Apple icon top left corner of your screen then from the drop down menu click: About This Mac
If it doesn't say:  Intel Core 2 Duo
Then you can't upgrade the Mac to Lion.

  • Macbook Pro Crash during Update Installation

    Hello All,
I currently have a 15-inch early 2011 model macbook pro that is not functioning as it should be. For the past few weeks my mac has randomly shut off and given me the message "Your Computer Restarted Because of a Problem." With that said I began to take note as to when this was occuring and realized that anytime I tried to install new software or updates it would immediately shut the computer down after starting the install process. When I tried to install updates on my computer in an effort to combat the issue it would simply shut down during that install process as well.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Crash during OS installation

My ibook G4 started freezing whenever I switched on Airport, but was otherwise ok. I tried reinstalling the Tiger software but the laptop switched itself off halfway through the installation. I now can't restart it from laptop nor disc. Any ideas how to restart and do a completely new installation please? Installation disc 1 and holding C key on restart doesn't work - just a black screen.

Your HD may be shot, but maybe repairable.
Try holding the Option Key at Bootup, does that work?
Does it boot into Open Firmware with CMDOption+of ?

  • CC is crashing during install on my macbook.

CC is crashing during install on my macbook. What can I do to resolve this and install CC successfully?

I have a new Macbook Pro (purchased from apple 2 months ago) with OS X Yosemite. Creative Cloud was working perfectly and I downloaded a free trial of Photoshop CC. After the trial ended, not only photoshop CC, but, CC in general stopped working and so I deleted it all in hopes of being able to re-download CC and then buy Photoshop CC. However, I've tried to reinstall CC numerous times (about 15-20 attempts) and it repeatedly crashes during the installation process.

    re-installing it...
At the end, there's a window you should see pop up
and it'll have a few things to check off... one of
them is reinstalling OSX without wiping out what
    you've put on the computer.
    Best of luck.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.I've never had this problem before... today I opened iTunes and it prompted me to download the newest version.  I use iTunes all the time and have updated it multiple times with no issues.  During the installation process it gave me an error message that said:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files\iTunes.exe
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer.  I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)...
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I did not leave anything out from the error message.  It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..."  Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue?  I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse.  I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi lustyln,
I'm having a little trouble understanding all of what you are trying to explain. From what I can tell, it sounds like your PC has a lot of software problems and you want to know what is supposed to be there and what isn't.
For reference, here are your product specifications:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01893242&lc=en&product=4043282
To get your PC software back to how it was when it was first purchased, run a system recovery:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01867418&lc=en&product=4043282
    I hope this helps.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80073712, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)
