Windows 8.1 Does not recongnize and of the USB Ports

None of the USB Ports work. Anything I plug into any port is not recognized, wireless mouse included.Device Manager - (Other devices), manufacturer Unknown, location on Intel(R) USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller-0100 (Microsoft).(Code 28)Can't find Drivers What can I do to correct this problem?

I don't know if you'll feel better but - You are not alone facing the same problems, I am sure that all the power handling in 8.1 is a mess. If I force the comp. to go to sleep mode, after a while it is
not staying in the sleep mode but shutting down autonomously. I suppose there is more hidden bugs.

Isn't your computer just switching from sleep mode to hibernation mode after the amount of time set in your power management settings? This sounds like it, as in hibernation the computer is effectively shut off. This is also intended behaviour.
As you guys, I hope MS releases a fix soon.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Try leaving it plugged in and then restart the computer.

My setup is a Vodafon Esaybox connected to ISP. Time Capsule is not able to extend the wlan of the easybox, neither airport express can do.
Only the option "connect to wlan" is succesful.
With airport express I was able to connect my Sony Bravia TV to the lan via ethernet to stream pictures, the TV set got an IP adress from the easybox.
With the time capsule the easybox dosn't find devices connected to the ethernet ports to submit IP adresses. The TV set get another IP adress (169.xxx.x.x.) in subnet mask 255.255.0.0 and I don not now where from.
My notebook is a MacBook pro.
Any idea????

That would appear to be a question for Apple to answer. You can make suggestions to Apple here:

If the AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule are configured to "extend a wireless network" they will provide additional wireless coverage....and...the Ethernet ports are enabled in this type of setup.
The "catch" here is that you must have an Apple router providing the network to be extended.

a) HP printer with USB port only (no ethernet port) connected to Airport Express
b) No issue printing from Macs
Tests
1) Installed Bonjour 2 - does not find printer (now uninstalled)
2) Bonjour 3 is listed in programs but no way to access
3) Using TCPIP address (and no Bonjour) gives 'Unsupported Personality' error when printing test page

This is possible, but not with Bonjour or any other fixes. It is just a printer set up based on the Port name of the Airport, 10.0.1.1.

E52 Date Display does not update and reflect the c...

Right from day 1 the display date of my E52 does not update and reflect correct the correct date. Got the phone replaced once still the same issue. Called the customer service and they say there is no such problem with E52. They asked me to go to the repair center...(isnt that ridiculous to ask a customer of a new phone to do so?). I went to the repair center with a hope that they will replace it for me but all in vain. They also gave me a ridiculous answer that Nokia does not have a replacement policy...and I was like so is it Nokia's policy to sell broken and faulty mobiles? I was utterly dejected. The electronic store where I bought also refuse to replace because they think there is a problem and no matter I get it changed it will recur. I still do not have a solution as all my ways of getting this problem resolved are exhausted. Anyone has a solution or came across this issue which can be solved without repairing?

Ok let me state my problem. There is a date display and at midnight the date should automatically change to the next date. However that does not happen. The dealer makes the following changes Control Panel>Settings>General>Date and time> Automatic time update> On and this does not solve the problem. Then I get the mobile replaced and that too has the same problem. after going through all permutations and combinations the problem persists. To quote the email from the Contact center for Nokia in HK this was what was suggested
Menu→Ctrl. panel→Settings→General→Date and time→Time zone→please select Hong Kong→Automatic time update→please select Off
However, if the situation still occurred by following the above settings, please be advised to bring your Nokia E52 along with the valid sales invoice to one of our Hong Kong Nokia Care Centres for the handset checking since we do not have such arrangement of replacing a new phone to you.

You can stop new photos being automatically added to Photostream in iPhoto from iPhoto preferences > Photostream.

TOUCHSMART 520 PC NOT RECOGNIZING DEVICES IN THE USB PORT.

When I plug any devices into the USB port, they are not recognized. The computer acts as if they are not there. The devices (MP3, camera, Garmin, etc) turn on, so I know that they are connected. The Printer and wireless mouse that connect through the USB port still work and I have tried changing ports...it doesn't make any difference. Even if I try to search for thr device, the computer does not find it. Any ideas?

Is your machine connected to AC power? If not, connect it, and it should work. You may also try resetting the SMC.
If it still doesn't work when connected to AC, then the hub most likely is drawing too much power (i.e you have too many devices connected to it)

When the about:config setting for swipe are changed to allow changing tabs with swipe it does not repond and performs the default back and forward in browsing history action on the selected window instead of switching tabs. How do I get it to work?

In about:config, the values I changed to for the preference name browser.gesture.swipe.left was Browser:PrevTab and for browser.gesture.swipe.right was Browser:NextTab.
I have the latest synaptics touch pad on my laptop and it supports three touch swipe on windows pcs and on firefox. The about:config setting seem to be specific for MACs and so does not responds to windows changes.

Updated the iOS and now my iPhone 4 will not work and shows the usb with an arrow to iTunes. iTunes on my computer does not recognize it and will not sync it!! I hate being with out my iPhone

Photosmart 7520 does not grip and feed the paper to print..

Hi-- I have a sparsley used Photosmart 7520 AIO that does not properly feed the paper to print. An HP Utube video had several olutions suggestions that did not work. THe display screen thinks the machine has no paper. Any ideas? Seems like it should be a small easy problem but nothing seems to fix it. Thank you.

I read about your print jobs getting stuck in the print queue's on both of your computers, and I am here to offer a few suggestions to you that should help.
I would first recommend trying a Firmware Update for the printer. As you are connected VIA USB, you can download and run the update here from your Windows 8 PC: HP Photosmart 7520 series firmware update
Restart the printer afterwards.
Also, there could be many reasons as to why the jobs are getting stuck in the print queue. Check out these guides and try out all of the steps and they should help you:

First of all, are you using a Windows Phone (windows phone 7 or 7.5) or a Windows Mobile (6.1, 6.5) phone?
Windows Mobile phones are generally not compatible with macs for USB internet tethering. They do work OK by sharing via Bluetooth or Wifi.

Can only connect to enterprise wifi the first time each day, then does not reconnect and got the "Association Failed" error

To save battery, I leave my wifi off when the TP's screen is locked. At home, my TP has no problem reconnecting to wifi after the screen is unlocked. However, at work, which uses enterprise wifi, I can only connect the first time. If I lock the screen and then unlock it (causing the wifi to turn off and on again) then the TP will not reconnect and I would get the "Association failed" error over and over again. If I were to turn the TP off and on again, I would still get the same error. Here's the strange part, if I come in work the next day, it would be able to connect to the wifi. If I were to leave the wifi on all the time, it would not disconnect even if I lock the screen. Now if I were to turn off the wifi and then turn it on again, the TP would not reconnect. So it seems like the TP can only connect the first time each day....very strange...and frustrating.

Scimmia is right. But you AcousticBruce are still very wrong. You claim there were no error messages. Yet after much proding and denial you finally provide small portions of error messages which fully identify the problem and can be found in many other posts in these forums. Yet still, you haven't actually provided full output - instead you paraphrased the output after a couple of "//" symbols.
If you don't give us the actual output we can't help - except in this case the error is so common we could very easily help. So could the wiki page on wpa_supplicant if you had read it, as your problem is explictly listed there in a "NOTE" box. But more importantly if you are reluctant to give us actual output we will not want to help you.
This issue would have been solved instantly if you would have provided the actual output instead of lying about it.
