Windows 8.1 HP AMD laptop gets very hot and brightness wont change from max

Hi i recently bought a laptop off my friend because my computer was very hard to read and i needed something smaller, it is only a year old and has a AMD A10 processor. Yesterday we recently tried to factory reset it and reinstall back to windows 8.1 to wipe data, we had a bit of a problem and it took a few hours due to the blue screen problem but i finally got it to boot, after installing windows i have noticed there was barely any programs on the computer except for internet explorer, i also noticed the brightness was on maximum and would not change from there i press the buttons adn the slider will go down but it wont actually change, this makes it very uncomfortable for eyes to read at night or in a dark room. i am also noticing that on the left hand side near the fan the laptop gets very very hot much hotter than my old intel i5 hp laptop, could you please help with these issues ASAP as it is driving me crazy and he wont even take the laptop back until i can fix the overheating and brightness issues. thanks very much

i believe the model number is 15-n268sa

My Iphone 6+  gets very hot and the screen pops up a little. Is that normal any one experience this before?

I did yesterday. They inspect and repaired it. And gave me back my phone and claim that its was not assembled well at start. was an un aglinment. They have fixed it and aglined it according to them. I dont feel that that could be the reason. I have used it for half a yr already now then its un aglinment appears?

  • My iPod touch 4G keeps getting very hot and the apps keep crashing

My iPod Touch 4G has been getting very hot and the apps keep crashing. What can I do?

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try a Reset of the Touch... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Touch Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Touch On...
If that does not help... See Here:

  • G570, AMD Radeon getting very hot

Recently, the AMD Radeon in my G570 started to get very hot, over 100 °C, and freezing the display for a couple of seconds or shutting down the laptop all together. I recently updated the BIOS. Since the first signs I checked that the fan works and got rid of dust in the system. This improved it a little bit but running certain flash games in Firefox for example is not easily possible.
Edit: I forgot to addd, I also receive the message "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Successfully Recovered". Following one suggestion on the web I downloaded the latest graphics driver and set the Visual Effects in Performance Information and Tools to best for performance, but this hasn't solved the problem and would be strange if it did as I own this piece now over a year and never had a single problem, not even the ones mentioned in other threads around here, e.g. fan noise/constant running or hinges.

    Hi
    Welcome To Lenovo Community
Please try cleaning the heat sink fan & also try adding fresh thermal past on the processor
And GPU, It should cool down the system and work normally.
May be thermal past has dried up which is causing the system to heat up

    Hope This Helps

  • My MacBook Pro (Early 2011) keeps freezing, the fan becomes extremely loud and the laptop gets very hot, what can I do?

    Hi there,
I would be grateful if any one could help me. I purchased my MacBook Pro  13 Inch in August 2011, it was the "Early 2011" version, which was shipped with Lion (I have now upgraded it to Mountain Lion last year).
Up until a few weeks ago, it was running fine. But recently my MacBook keeps freezing (A circular rainbow appears on the cursor), slowing down, the fan gets very loud and I often have to restart the whole machine. This usually happens when I'm running programs such as Safari, Preview or Microsoft Word
I only use my MacBook for university work so I only have Microsoft Office and iWork installed, nothing else. I've only used 19gb out of the 320gb available. I've also reseted my MacBook to its factory settings but that hasn't fixed the problem.
I've checked my AppleCare status and it says:
    Repairs and Service Coverage: Active
Your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under a custom agreement.
For more information about your coverage, please contact us.
Estimated Expiration Date: 24 August 2014
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to how I can resolve these problems, as it is stopping me from doing my work?
    Many thanks.

Call Apple and make a appointment, backup your use data off the machine to a external drive.
Don't bother with TimeMachine if it asks, too long and likley be corrupted and unable to restore, just drag and drop your Users folder to the external drive.

  • My macbook pro retina gets very hot and slow

whenever i use my macbook pro retina for an extended amount of time 1-2 hours watching videos online or playing games it gets very hot, starts lagging and gets unresponsive, i can only use it with a fan underneath basically, my old macbook pro had a similar problem, it took like 3 weeks of them checking it to find a problem which took them another couple of weeks to fix, i cannot be without my laptop for any extended period of time. fans inside seem to be working fine, but it still get incredibly hot... please help!!!

Runaway applications can shorten battery runtime, affect performance, and increase heat and fan activity

  • My iPhone 5 is getting very hot and battery drains quickly.. normal?

I've been having a variety of signal related problems with my iPhone 5 and I'm wondering if anyone can offer any advice.  From day 1 I have observed that my phone will have poor signal strength or will switch from 4G or LTE into Edge mode, even if my wife standing right next to me (same network same iphone 5) has better signal.  Phone also frequently gets quite hot (to were it's uncomfortable to hold).
I did a long hike last weekend and in the space of 3.5 hours, while doing nothing but listening to music and taking a few photos, the phone was nearly drained (20%).  If I tried to take a photo it would simply shut down after pressing the shutter button.  I also had no signal (phone was searching), even though other AT&T iphone users around me had signal and were texting, making calls and sending photos (this was from a mountain top so the temps were quite low).
Apple diagnosed the radio in my phone and said it is fine (good attenuation and no dropped calls).  They recommended that I wipe the phone and set it up as a new phone versus restoring from a backup (what a pain).  I did this and while returning from an outing yesterday I had 3 bars of LTE signal and noticed that with just light browsing the phone got very very warm and the battery was draining quickly.  In the space of just an hour the phone plummeted from 75% to 30%.
I'm trying to determine if all of this is "normal" or if I should demand a replacement phone.  I have tons of Macs, iPads, iPhones, etc (for both myself and my wife) and I've never seen Apple so reluctant to do a hardware swapout as they were when I was in the store yesterday.

Did you transfer the backup for your 3GS to your iPhone 4S?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
If no change after a reset and you transferred the backup for your 3GS to your 4S, try restoring your 4S with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from a backup to see if this makes any difference.

  • When recharging my "new ipad" the transformer gets very hot and it takes 12hrs or more to achieve 100%. Anyone else having this problem? The transformer gets so hot i am afraid it will melt or syart a fire.

When recharging the transformer gets extremely hot , so hot i am afraid it will melt down. It takes almost 20 hrs to reach 100%. Any ideas?

    This is very unusual.
If you are using cable that came with your iPad than I suggest going to the nearest Apple Store. This does not seem to be a software issue so I can not help you with that

  • My laptop is getting very hot and the fan seems to always be on. The battery dies quickly too.

Mac Pro 4 + years old. Bottom getting hot. Fan seems to run constantly when in use, or when charging. The charge does not last longer than 2 to 2.5 hours. Unplugging seems to cool it off as well as shutting down.

    Pre-Mavericks
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.

  • MacBook computer gets very hot and hurts to touch

I have the last 17 inch MacBook made.
Lately my fingers have been burning and very sensitive from using the MacBook.
I thought maybe I had some nerve problems with my fingers but this doesn't happen when I use my iPhone or even an iPad, although I have not tested another MacBook.
I believe the problem gets worse when the computer is plugged in which leads me to believe that it is from the heat of the battery under the trackpad area sometimes my fingers also get heated from using the keyboard.
I have resorted to using an external keyboard and the magic mouse and I have been fine.
After almost 2 weeks of not using the computer keyboard and trackpad I went back to it and within 10 minutes I felt the heat in my fingers.
is there something wrong with my MacBook? is it overheating? I did replace the battery about a half a year ago
    Or is it me?

  • My 3GS gets very hot and battery drains from 100% to 0% in less than few hours

The problem is really tricky. I kept tracking the problem, the problem persists only in the following case, if cellular data is on with no dataplan registered. If dataplan is activated the problem disappears

I forgot to add, I closed notification center, all push and pull activities and ping.

  • My Hp Ency laptop gets super hot after upgrading to windows 10

Hi there,As I mentioned , my laptop gets very hot after upgrading from windows 8.1 to windows 10.Is this a known issue?thanks Payam HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notbook PC

Is it an AMD graphics card? If so, it's an issue with the new AMD drivers that a lot of people have been having. Report this issue to AMD: http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D25B93E7EE
