Windows 8.1 Hyper-V, guests have no Internet Access

I've researched this issue, and have tried any available solutions to no avail..
Here's what I have
Windows 8.1 (clean install) running Hyper-V
Host machine has dynamic IP over Ethernet, with working Internet access.
Within the virtual switch manager, I've created an 'External' network, and have assigned this to the guest VM.
When I boot up the guest VM, it's assigned a valid IP within the DHCP range, valid Gateway, and valid DNS servers. However the network is showing as limited connectivity. I have tried assigning the guest a static IP, but this did not help. I
can access network file shares.
Firewalls are disabled, both guest and host, no internet proxy is being used.
Any ideas to what else I can check?

Okay, there are a few things that could be causing your issue, but before I go into those, let's first make sure we are all on the same page here.
First, I'm assuming when you reference the host machine you are referring to the machine that is hosting the Hyper-V service. Please let me know if
this is not the case. Also, which operating system is the guest VM running? Is it also Windows 8.1?
Second, are you attempting to connect this guest VM to its own private network, or to the host’s network? If you are attempting to use the host’s
network connection, you should be able to simply connect to the external switch you created in the hardware configuration section, under ‘Properties’. Also, you will want to make sure the external switch you created is connected to the proper network adapter
under the Virtual Switches section.
Third, what is your overall objective? Do you want to use the host’s network to create a private network for the guest VM? If this is the case, you will want to create
a guest VM with two network adapters. The first network adapter will be connected to the external switch and the second to a private switch. You will then want to configure
Routing and Remote Access so that the guest VM is able to act as a DHCP and DNS server.
If you have screenshots of your settings, this could help us possibly pinpoint the error in configuration as well.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 7.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

New Airport Extreme in Bridge mode -- some devices have no internet access

I just bought a new Airport Extreme as my old one which was probably 7 years old required restarting every day. My setup is as follows: DSL cable modem to Linksys Router (for a long set of convoluted reasons, I can't remove this layer) and then Airport Extreme. This is how I had it set up with my old one. The only difference is I recently started looking into using "Back to the Mac" on MobileMe and in order for it to work, I set my new Airport Extreme to Bridge mode due to dual NAT. I have an iMac, PC, MBP, MBA, iphone 4, AppleTV and ipad. All was working fine last night when I set it up. 24 hours later, for some odd reasons, I can't have my PC accessing the wireless network at the same time. If I did, it would knock my iMac off the network and says some other device is using the same IP address. For a while, only my iMac (my main computer) can access it and even my iphone can't. At this very moment, my iphone, imac and MBP all have access to the wireless network. My MBA and iPad has no internet connection. I've restarted Airport Extreme, Linksys, and modem more than once... If I switch back to "Use Public IP Address" instead of Bridge mode, everything works except for "Back to the Mac"... Help!

Hey Bob, Thanks...I have already repeated that multiple times yesterday and today but to no avail. I tried to get into the Linksys router control panel but unfortunately we can't remember the username and password (the router is not mine). The make things even more complicated, the router is actually part of the internet package provided by the ISP and they use a PPPoE to log in. Theoretically, we could do a hard reset but the problem is the ISP will not release the PPPoE information unless we sign a long and complicated form saying we want to bypass their Linksys router. We can do that but this process will take days and weeks... Our ISP confirmed that the Linksys router is set to max out at 5 DHCP but we can only connect 3 machines at a time. They are coming out to take a look tomorrow but in the meantime I have reset the Airport Extreme to "Distribute a Public IP Address" mode which will allow access to all computers/devices. What's even more weird is that if I did the Bridge mode, it messes up the Linksys router's own network as well. We can't even just sign into that network... Any ideas why?

New Windows server 2003 Hyper-V guest fails to boot

I'm currently doing some virtualization experiments on my new server hardware. The host hardware is:
IBM x3650 M4
x2 Xeon E5-2609
32GB RAM
x2 480 GB SSDs
Server OS: Windows server 2012
I'd like to test some legacy app virtualization. I've configured a VM and have installed Windows server 2003. The install is done via DVD. The issue at hand is that after the initial installation, the server fails to boot. The VM goes into a reboot loop
and so far the only error logging I'm able to find is in the hosts event log.

If its relevant, the host is not yet activated license wise. I downloaded the demo version so I could test my idea before making a purchase to go ahead with full implementation.
As it stands right now I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. Many searches on google have not turned up any helpful info. Does anyone have any ideas?

First , please refer to the supported guest OS of windows 2012 hyper-v :

2003/R2 should be with sp2 and max 2 virtual processors .
"'LegacyTS' was reset because an unrecoverable error occurred on a virtual processor that caused a triple fault."
If the issue is not due to the above items , you can try to check the "CPU compatibility " in that VM settings for troubleshooting:

How do I install Firefox on a (windows xp) computer that will never have an internet connection?

I need to run a browser on computers in a test lab. (For example, you often use browsers to setup routers.) The network in the test lab is NOT connected to the internet, so downloading a setup file that pulls in additional files from the internet is no good. I need all the files so I can put them on a CD or USB drive for installation.

The installer from mozilla.com does not pull files from the internet during installation. You should be good to download that file to a USB stick.

Mozilla 5.0 did not finish install. not in listed in remove programs list to uninstall. How do I find it to uninstall as it will not let me reinstall previous version and i now have no internet access?

i installed service pack 3(windows) My system is a dell desktop running XP. Then when done a message popped up and said receommended to install yahoo firefox version 5.X. Install of firefox did not finish apparently now I have not access to internet and cannot reinstall it as it thinks the previuos install is not completed and keeps telling me to reboot which I have done a billion times. I mistakenly clicked to purchase the HD version of Downton Abbey. I have lite internet access! I should have purchased the SD version instead. Can I cancel the purchase and go back to buy the SD version?

Is it possible to cancel the purchase - it says that there are 11 hours left just to download episode one!!!

When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.

My question is quite simple, but I've never owned a laptop before so this is new to me!
I have a MacBook and we have internet, but we'd like to be able to connect wirelessly so we don't have to sit at the desk all the time. (We have a Motorola SURFboard Cable Modem.) What product do I need to buy to do this?

The cheapest way in is to buy the Airport Express.
All the base stations do the same basic wireless networking and then expand from there.
1. Airport Express plus Airtunes = $99
2. Airport Extreme = $179

I have a problem with iCloud - i have great internet access at work, but slow internet access at home (less than 1MB/PS) and I use the full range of iCloud syncing facilities. How can i make my devices ONLY sync at work.. and not at home??

As stated above, if i go out during the day, buy an app, download a song and take 20 photo's when i get home my devices will all take 30mins to sync before i can even browse websites or check my facebook at home.
Can i set up my iCloud to only sync when i am on my work Wi-fi...?

Firefox has not been connected to the server since Saturday so I have no internet access.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
