Windows 8.1 installation Error code 0x80004005
I am trying to upgrade my windows 8 pro to 8.1 pro via the windows store but I keep getting the same error code 0x80004005.
I have tried the following:
1) Simply restart the update.
2) Clean boot
3) Safe mode but I couldn't access the store.
4) Registered the following dlls via cmd:
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
Nothing worked!! help.

I have brand new Acer Aspire Laptop installed with windows 8
From 1 Feb 2014 , I am trying to install Windows 8.1 update from windows store. I tried to install update more than 15 times but still stuck with this error code 0x80004005.
1. I simply tried to install couple of times
2. I disabled all protection softwares stuck with same
3. I disable all stratup programs but same
4. I installed fresh windows again updated with all updates from Microsoft and then tried to install Windows 8.1 update from windows store but same error

Regarding current situation, please follow these steps to check the issue:
1. Please run WSRESET.EXE to clear store catch.
2. If there is any proxy settings in IE and Metro app, please remove it.
3. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on and remove other security applications.
4. If you use wireless connection, please change to wired network connection.
5. Register following dll files by typing following command in Run (Windows key + R):
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
Then, let’s try to install Windows 8.1 again.
If the issue still persists, upload the latest setuperr.log for research.

I've seen the same error on a customer where we had Windows Intune Client (SCCM) installed previously. Did you try it on a newly deployed computer? If you had Intune or another CCM client on it previously make sure you clean it up. Here is a well formulated

Usually when deploying to many clients we use a startup script, there is a great one that Jason Sandys made in the link below.

There should be no problems deploying SCCM 2012 R2 clients on Windows 8.1 unless there is something wrong with either the setup or the client computer.

I am using win 10 home insider preview, build 10074. When I am trying to install VS 2015 community RC, selected Universal Windows App, it failed at

The error -2147023293 translated to Hex is:FFFFFFFF80070643
0x80070643 is a general error here so it is hard for us to troubleshoot. Please try download the ISO format of Visual Studio 2015 Community so that you can use the fciv.exe tool to verify the hash value. All info are listed on the VS2015 download page:

While on copy database wizard, step Configure the package I

while trying to find a folder on sql an ole db error was encountered with error code 0x80004005 (login timeout expired).
If I try to run it any way, I got the following in the Execute stage:

After installing the most recent iTunes update/version iTunes will no longer run on my PC (Windows 7). I receive multiple error windows with the Microsoft error code R6034. Microsoft's Help site states that this error occurs when a driver attempts to access the C++ library without a "Manifest". I do not know what a manifest is, but apparently any attempt to directly access the C++ library is not permitted. The site instructs the viewer to contact the application developer.

I'm getting above error in the pre- execute phase of a DFT when I'm trying to fetch data from a SSAS cube using mdx query.
I'm using OLE DB provider for connecting to cube.
I got one resolution for Error Code 0X8004005, which asked me to add 'Format= Tabular' in cube's connection string. It does not seem to work either. Can any one help me out on this???You are probably missing an update.
I saw a MS Connect post https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/250920/error-using-oledb-or-datareader-to-get-analysis-services-data where that suggestion was proposed as a fix, but is for an older SQL Server version.
So do there is a question if you pull data from SQL Server 2012 SSAS using SSIS 2012 (so no other build is involved).

SCCM 2012 R2 - Migration TS Failed in Release Request Step with Error Code 0x80004005
Hi
I have Upgraded my lab from SCCM 2012 SP1 to SCCM 2012 R2. Now, While I am running TS for Refresh/Replace Migration, its successfully captures all the Data & settings and can also restores all Data & settings, but at release request Step TS got failed.
In SMSTS log file error was "Release Request Failed with error code 0x80004005".
Is there any KB released by Microsoft to fix this issue?? Due to this issue I am unable to run any other TS.I've seen a few weird scenarios with task sequences after an upgrade from SP1 to R2.
In most cases I've been able to fix these "problems" by simply creating a new task sequence, and copy all the custom steps to the new task sequence.
Also make sure to update boot images, mdt packages, usmt etc. to new versions.
So thats what I'd try first....

There are a couple of users on our network getting this error.

What's the version of your exchange ?
Base on my search, Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8 will cause this issue.
If you had installed exchange 2010 SP3 RU8, you should rollback this update.

An issue has been identified in the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 8. The update has been recalled and is no longer available on the download center pending a new RU8 release. Customers should not proceed with deployments of this update until the
new RU8 version is made available. Customers who have already started deployment of RU8 should rollback this update.
The issue impacts the ability of Outlook to connect to Exchange, thus we are taking the action to recall the RU8 to resolve this problem. We will deliver a revised RU8 package as soon as the issue can be isolated, corrected, and validated. We will publish
further updates to this blog post regarding RU8.
This issue only impacts the Exchange Server 2010 SP3 RU8 update, the other updates remain valid and customers can continue with deployment of these packages.

At random places in my packages, I randomly (not always) get this general netwrok error (I am including the first line just to show the line right above the error line):
