Windows 8.1 Lenovo ThinkPad Cannot See Printer

I have a couple of issues.  The HP full software 64bit for windows 8.1 and my printer is OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g.  Install software wizard wont find my printer via wireless.  Also the AiO remote app in windows 8.1 won't connect to the printer.  However  the print and scan doctor sees my printer fine.  Also the printer loses it's IP connection even though it is set up as a static and updated to latest FW.  The HP solution center also shows my printer as disconnected?  Any suggestions on how to get the HP software to see my printer?  When I type the printer ip address into a browser i can see the server and everything shows good to go?

I understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g, will not connect to your Windows 8.1. I am happy to help you with this issue!
I would recommend the following steps:
Level-three uninstall. Fatal Error 'Error 1155. Not Found.' (MSI Error 1155) Displays During Software Installation in Windo....
Reboot computer.
Restore network  defaults on printer. (Go to setup on the printer's control panel, then network)
Run wireless setup wizard. (Go to setup on the printer's control panel, then network)
Assign static ip.
Re-install with the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

  • HP2610 cannot print -network - wired - cannot see printer - Win7 64bit

    In the solution center I get message that the system cannot see my HP Photosmart 2610.
    I can however ping the printer with no issues. I can also print if I use the USB connection.
    This has worked for a couple years without issue, this problem suddenly appeared.
    I have reconnected via usb and updated all drivers and updates.Restarted printer and computer,
    Ran hp diagnostics, cant find the printer
    If I try to print to the printer, it sends the print job, but queue shows printer error, and just prints blank pages. (tries to print and fails)  will keep doing this until it runs out of paper.
    I reconfigured the network settings, verified I can ping and print directly - still cant print over the network

    You tried most of the steps that I would advise;
    I will perhaps disable all security applications including WIN Firewall and try it again. uninstall the printer, Do this in safe mode and them install in safe mode.  
    I am almost certian you went thru this process  but do this in the order to see if helps it worth a try; Click here

  • HP 8625, cannot see Print Preview or Select Pages

    On my new HP 8625, I cannot see the Print Preview feature nor can I select to print specific pages.  This used to work on my HP c309, so I'm thinking perhaps it's a printer driver issue.  I am specificially having this issue with Excel but it may be occuring in other programs as well.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello @TheEveryman , welcome to the forums
    I would first suggest checking to see if you have Print Preview and the option to print specific pages from other programs, besides Excel as this will show us if the problem is solely within MS Excel, or all programs, which could be a driver issue.
    Skipping forward a little bit and assuming the issue is in all programs, you could try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the computer and reinstalling the printer, here: HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers.
    Please let me know which operating system you're running on your computer and the results from testing the other programs on your computer. The more detail you include, the better!

  • When trying to scan using Windows8.1 cannot see printer

    Just bought new computer with Windows 8.1.  Cannot scan - when I try it says it can't see the printer.  I've downloaded all the suggested updates etc from HP as instructed - still no good.  Printing from word etc is fine.

    Have you installed new software and drivers on Windows 8.1 machine yet ? If yes, please initiate scan from computer first.  Scan from computer will give you more options than scan from the printer itself.

  • Cannot see printer and PCs on network

    I have a G5 connected through Airport to a Netgear WGR614 v4 router which is connected in turn to a cable modem. There are also two PCs and a wireless printer (HP Officejet 7410) on the network.
    The PCs and printer function correctly. The G5 is able to access the Internet through Airport, the router and the cable modem. The router settings confirm that the G5 is an "attached device".
    However the G5 doesn't seem to be able to see anything else on the network. When I try to look at the network from within Finder all I see is one server corresponding to my G5. Do I need to do something to Network Preferences to make the printer and PCs visible to the G5?

    I seem to have resolved this, at least as far as accessing the printer is concerned, by installing HP's software on the PC part of the network first, and only subsequently on the G5. It now seems to work.
    I'm still unclear about how Finder works as far as showing me what is on the network. I'd expected it to work like Windows Explorer on XP and be able to show me everything on the network. However it doesn't seem to do this. Is this a problem with my setup, or a misunderstanding about how Finder works with regard to networks?

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.2 Cannot See Printer

    Hi, I am unable to see my printer listed when attempting to print in Adobe Reader 11.0.2.  HOWEVER, when I log on with the Domain Administrator account, the printer does show.  I have no problems seeing the printer from all other applicaitons, like word, IE, chrome, etc.  I have already uninstalled Adobe Reader and Re-installed it.  I have also uninstalled and re-installed the latest printer driver from the printer vendor's website.  I am using Windows 7 x64.

  • Brother MFC 7440N - cannot see printer on network after software update!

    Hi I have done a software update to OSX 10.8.3 on my macbook pro. But now I can't see my Brother MFC 7440N printer on the network. I have been on the Brother website and have downloaded all of the software / drivers for MAC, but there doesn't seem to be one for OSX 10.8.4. Can anyone suggest what I should do next.
    By the way, I have already tried to reset the printers etc, but that didn't work as the printer cannot be found on the network.

    In case you can't find the manual here is the relevant section.
    You're not going to change it so stop at section 4 (IP Address) don't proceed to 5 (Change)

  • Touch screen no longer working (Windows 8.1 Lenovo ThinkPad)

    Suddenly the touch screen stopped functioning. The screen doesn't "feel" my fingers at all.... I am not an experienced user, and I do not want to "try" various solutions in order to check whether it works or not. I might mess up my whole
    laptop. What is your suggestion?
    I've looked at Lenovo web and TechNet, but couldn't find anything related there either.

    I suspected you just currently updated your Windows Operating system to Windows 8.1
    Some of model listed there not ready yet to upgrade to Windows 8.1 or you haven't update your touchpad driver yet. Some of driver like touchpad need to be update in Windows 8.1
    I also suggest you update all the driver if any. Contacting Lenovo is the best way since you don't want to try TS here.
    Basic TS for touchpad is only reinstall driver or update, rather than that you should contact Lenovo (HW or 3rd party software issue)

  • ITunes 11.0.1 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit Cannot see text (font does not display)

    I have installed the latest version of iTunes on my home PC with Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) 32-bit Home Edition.
    I cannot read the text on many iTunes screens/pages due to the font not showing at all.
    I have also tried to install the Segoe UI true-type font (and its variant such as bold, italic, etc.) but the problem remains.
    Please help.

    I have eventually managed to resolve my issue by:
    1) Installing "Segoe UI" fonts in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
    2) Changing my default colour profile to "sRGB Color Space Profile".
    Navigate to My Computer > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color Management.
    Click Add button and select sRGB Color Space Profile.icm from the Add Profile Association pop-up window.
    Select sRGB Color Space Profile.
    Click on the Set as Default button.
    Click on Apply, OK, OK.

    I've installed Adobe X but no pdf printer shows up
    in the printers area, or under any program to select a printer to use
    .I'm using WIndows 7.  Anyone know how to get this Adobe working?

    Reader does not allow you to create pdf files. You need to purchase Acrobat X.

    try this, uninstall the Wifi LAN drivers. let Windows install its generic drivers.
    test your connection with the generic drivers. See if that works, then install the drivers from our support site but before you install it, go to MSCONFIG and set your unit to Diagnostic mode first before installing.

    itunes on windows (12.0.1.26)  cannot see whats inside my iphone so when i tried to check again all of the items on my iphone and clicked sync, it displays an error that it has reached over capacity but i really havent. what to do?

    If I understand correclty you are trying to sync content to your phone but for some reason iTunes is telling you that you are over capacity. I recommend the information and troubleshooting in the following article to help you get that resolved, named:
    If you get a "Not enough free space" alert on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    You might see this alert in iTunes: "[iPhone/iPad/iPod touch] cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (additional space required)."
    If you see this alert, try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again.
    Orphaned files might remain on your iOS device if it's physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, you might see a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device in the Capacity indicator in iTunes. Try these steps:
    Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes. If you see the "Not enough free space" alert, continue to step 5.
    Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device:
    Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
    Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
    Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes. If you see the "Not enough free space" alert, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.

    My iPad appears under portable devices in device manager in Windows 7 64bit, so iTunes cannot see it.  I have tried unistalling the device, but it always reappears as a portable device.  My ipod shuffle also appears as a portable device, but it is seen in iTunes, whereas the ipad does not.

    Assuming you've already tried the simple stuff like rebooting the iPad and the computer you'll probably want to check some of these items...
