Windows 8.1 not seeing iPad

I have a new Windows 8.1 computer build. I installed the latest version of iTunes, 11.3.1.2. When I connected my iPad 3 running 7.1.2, the iPad kept asking if I wanted the trust the computer. No matter how many times I clicked trust, it ignored it. On the computer, iTunes never saw the iPad. In the Device Manager the Apple Mobile Device Driver kept appearing and disappearing as though the USB cable was being unplugged and re-plugged, but the iPad never showed as a portable device. I tried multiple USB cables. I tried updating the driver. I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes and all Apple software 4 times, all to no avail. I disabled all start-up items on the computer and rebooted several times. No change. I then tried my iPad 2 and iPhone 5C. They did the same thing in the Device Manager. Strangely enough, I dug out an old iPod Nano I had and it connected fine. I have about 6 hours invested in trying to simply get my iPad to connect to my new computer. My teenage son suggested Android platform devices would solve my problem. Anybody got any ideas? I've run out.  Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Now you understand my issue! I know the newer "i" devices worked under Windows 7, but now I am running Window 8.1. I cannot let my portable Apple products dictate the operating system of my computer. If I wanted to do that I would have bought a Mac. I am hoping there is someone out there running Windows 8.1 that has discovered and resolved this issue, I've seen several instances of this scenario noted, but no resolution. Maybe someday Apple or (doubtfully) Microsoft will find a resolution, but probably not until I've replaced these devices with something like Android. If I can't connect the devices to my computer to upload content, they become they useless to me. I can't even switch to Wi-Fi connectivity as that seems to require an  initial USB connection. Thanks for trying to help.

  • Windows Vista does not see my Ipad but it always did prior to this attempt

Windows Vista does not see my Ipad, this is a new problem and I have not made any major changes to either my computer or to my Ipad.  I am running Vista 64 as an operating system.  I get the message that windows has an unrecognized USB device.  I checked to see if the Apple Mobility software is running and it was, I reset it, turned off the computer, soft reset the Ipad but still no luck.

    Hi,
Can you try a different USB port?

Windows 8 does not see hard drive on A200.
    How to install?

    > with Vista works fine,
Does this mean that Vista is still installed or is HDD visible while Vista installation setup?
Some notebooks HDD controller needs SATA driver in order to be able to install system.
Sat A200 is a little bit older but I dont think the SATA driver is needed here to install Win 8.
I guess you didnt any SATA drivers to install the Vista right?
Set the BIOS to default and try to boot again using Win 8.

I remember that with Snow Leopard you could download them from the Apple website.

I have a large video on my ipad that I need to transfer to my PC (a window 7).  I could also use a windows 8 if that would help.  But all of the applications I have tried do not see this large video (52 mins) even though they transfer smaller videos fine.  The ipad will not let me trim the video, saying it is too large.  This is true even though I only want to trim the original, and not create a new video.  (Actually it refuses before it gets to the choice of creating something new or just eliminating something from the original).  I have been to an Apple store, but the people there only could recommend that I try some alternate applications to do the transfer (Kodak EasyShare).  I don't have much faith this will work.  I think I have this application on an old PC, and it is not something I want on my new computers.
Is it possibled the size of this video just violates the transfer formats for files over USB?  If so, I will just delete the video and move on.  But the video is really something I wanted to save.  I would be happy to eliminate most of the video, but the ipad will not let me trim it.
I also tried to import the video with Windows Moviemaker (free with W7).  It also does not see this file, but works fine on the other videos on the ipad.

  • Windows 7 does not see other computers in My Network Places

    Hi all,
I have a weird issue with a behavior of Windows 7 machines. The setup is as following: domain with WinSrv 2008R2 DC-s, functional level of the domain is WinSrv2008R2, there are Windows XP and WIndows 7 machines on the network. Users use My Network places
to access shares on other people-s PC's. Everything was fine while we had WinSrv2003 domain controller. After it was upgraded to WinSrv2008R2, Windows 7 machined cannot see all of the computers in My network places. To make things even worse, there are no
rules - some Win 7 machines see others just fine, some see 30 PC's (out of 100), some see all after doing a refresh...all sorts of different situations. I have no idea where else to look. Can it be some DNS setting that I missing? Any help is much appreciated
    Dino

    Hi Dino,
As I known, by default computer browser service is not started in windows 2008 server and higher OS.
You should enable NetBios over TCP/IP on the NCI settings and start the browser service in the services.msc and it should show you all the list of computers connected on
    network.
we should enable Network Discovery in the Network and Sharing Center first.
Please also temporarily turn off firewall on each machine.
In addition, please modify relevant settings on Windows 7 machine.
    a. Click Start and open Control Panel.
    b. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Advanced sharing settings".
    c. Expand the current network profile (such as "Home or Work"), and then select the following options:
    "Turn on Network Discovery",
"Turn on file and printer sharing",
"Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders",
    "Turn off password protected sharing"
If the issue persists, try to access another computer by entering
\\computername in the Start Search box. Let us know if it works properly.
For a test, you may also disable IPv6 in adapter properties.
    a. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
    b. Double click to expand "Network Adaptors".
    c. Right click your network card and click Properties.
    d. Click Advance tab. High light Speed & Duplex
    e. If you would like to use the full functionality, please set the Value to the highest Full.
    f. Click OK.
    Hope it helps.

  • Windows 7 does not see Time capsule as backup

I've followed a few threads regarding this issue but none of the solutions posted worked for me.  I've installed Windows 7 through bootcamp and installed the drivers correctly (I think) using the usb stick for my MacBook Air.
The problem I'm having is that when I try to setup my Time Capsule as a backup for Windows 7, it does not see it under drives or under network.  But strangely enough, Windows 7 does it see it under my computer as a network drive:  Z:.  I can even access the drive with no problems.
Does anybody have any suggestion as to how I can fix this issue?  I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on the MacBook Air recently refreshed running an i7.  The Time Capsule is on firmware 7.5.2 and AirPort Utility is version 5.5.3

I thought I was going to be able to see TC from my PC after reading this thread, but it seems I still need a pad on he shoulder. Here's what I've tried so far:
    From MAC, Airport Utility, I
    1) Clicked the “Enable File Sharing” checkbox
    2) Set the “AirPort Disk Guest Access” to: Read and Write
    3) Set my PC workgroup as MSHOME, just like on my PC.
My TC's name is "Frank's Time Capsule". In the PC world, I think this translate to "Franks-Time-Capsule"
From PC, I attempted to map the TC as a network drive. Start>Computer Right-Click>Map Network Drive...
    I tried the following combination:
    ://10.0.1.1\Franks-Time-Capsule
    ://10.0.1.1\Franks Time Capsule
No success: "The network path could not be found"
I then changed the name of my TC's drive to "TC" only.
    ://10.0.1.1\TC
Still no success: "The network path could not be found"
    My question, is
What is the exact path for mapping the TC as a network drive?
What are we mapping? The drive name or the TC name?
    Thank you so much....

  • Windows xp does not see airport express

I run an airport express as a base station in my apartment which works fine both for my iMac and my Palm pda. But a friend is visiting me presently, and her windows laptop, running XP, does not see my wifi station, although it sees others in the area. I tried removing security but that made no difference.
Is there perhaps was something that had to be ticked in the airport base station setup to enable Windows laptops to see Apple wifi? As for example when I send attachments in Apple Mail I have to tick a box to make them Windows-friendly.

I use Airport Express... two Macs and another laptop running Win XP and couldn't get the Win to see the network until I changed to a different card, a D-Link Airplus. I think it was all of $19.95 and works like a charm...
Also, in Airport Admin Utility/Network, make sure you have:
Distribute IP addresses checked and where it says; Share a single IP address using DHCP and NAT, click the pop up menu and select: Use 10.0.1.1 addressing.
Also, her Win might be picking up interference your iMac or Palm doesn't... try a different channel:
By default, the AirPort software automatically selects the best available channel when the base station is plugged in. If your base station is experiencing interference, try changing the channel it uses.
    To select a different channel:
Open AirPort Admin Utility, located in Applications/Utilities.
Select your base station and click Configure.
Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort, and then choose a new channel from the Channel pop-up menu.

    Hi,
According to your description, I check this setting in my system, it shows "Modifying this setting may affect compatibility with clients, services, and applications". I think your problem most probably caused by driver compatibility problem, it would be
better to check USB router driver edition, also check its official site if there dirver compatible with Windows 8.1.

Ok so I'm actually not totally sure that the windows side is seeing my wireless adopter, but for whatever reason it won't connect to the internet. It doesn't even see my home network or the neighbors. I've installed this correctly and as far as I know the Mac side is working fine. Please help!

  • Clean install Windows 7 does not see my hard drive

I just bought a new h8-1234 and I want to get everything off of the hard drive.  Sorry, I just like to have what I want on my hard drive, not a buch of junk that I will never use.
So, I pop in my trusty Windows & 64 bit disk, the install proceeds and stops...It's tell me to install the drivers for my hard drive and I can see that the hard drive list is empty..
I tried to find the drivers for my modle of computer, but HD drivers are not listed.  Is there a generic sata driver I could try on use?

    Hi:
You can try the ones I have attached, but I always thought that Windows 7 and Vista had all of the SATA drivers already installed.  I've never come across a situation where W7 or Vista asked for Hard drive drivers.
They are the latest ones obtainable from AMD's site.
I see that your PC has a a new AMD 9xx chipset, and that isn't even listed on AMD's site for support.

  • Some windows-user could not see all images on the print result

We have a Problem when printing images (blobObject).
We are printing all displayed images immediately on the report. The images are represented on the report by Blob objects. At runtime we create a Bitmap object in memory, which is stored in a memory stream, the byte array of MemoryStream is placed in the field of the DataSet, which has deposited on the report as BlobObjekt.
The error that occurs is that some Windows-User didnu2019t see all pictures. But without any Errormessage, the picture is still white.
All users use the same Windows-PC with the Crystal Report Version 10.2.3600.0 .
The difference between the pictures is simple:
    Picture 1)
    -     Note: This picture appears properly
    -     This one exists as JPG-File on the harddisk
    -     We read the image, convert it into a memory stream and place the byte array in de DataSet-Field
    -      This images are positioned in the header and footer section
    Picture 2)
    -     Note: this picture does not display properly
    -     This one is created by the application
    -     It is created in memory by an graphics-object
    -     This graphics-Object is converted into an memory stream and so on
    -     This images are positioned in the details section
Here are the piece of code, which is the dataset supplied with pictures. (abbreviated version)
    Using stream As IO.MemoryStream = New IO.MemoryStream
Using dest As Bitmap = New Bitmap(field.Width, field.Height)
Using gd As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(dest)
    gd.Clear(Color.White)
    gd.DrawImage(Source, destrect, sourcerect, GraphicsUnit.Pixel)
    dest.Save(stream, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp)
                End Using
          End Using
    ds.Tables(datasourceTableName).Rows(j)(datasourceName) = stream.ToArray
    stream.Close()
    End Using
Has anyone an ideo whats going wrong?
The logic to print the images is always the same only the windows user is different.

Is this a web or windows based application?
Is this happening on the same computer but with a different user? It could be a user rights issue. Try using the Process Monitor tool to see if it is highlighting any permissions issues.
