Windows 8.1 on Envy 17 upgraded to pro.. refresh / reset no longer works

hi peeps
i was testing out the refresh and reset options when i first got the laptop they worked like normal.. then i upgraded to pro via control panel/add features to windows
the refresh and reset options no longer work.. how can i edit those functions to point to recovery partition

I understand that after you upgraded to a Windows Pro version and you are no longer able to do a system refresh or Microsoft restore.
If you did not overwrite the recovery partition when you did the upgrade you should be able to do a system recovery using the recovery manager.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
If you did overwrite the recovery manager and you created recovery CDs then you can use them to recover your system.
If you are unable to do any of the above suggestions, please contact HP support and inquire about obtaining a recovery kit for your notebook.

Upgraded to CS3 and Flash no longer works in browsers

Since upgrading to CS3 my Flash no longer works in my top
table. Exact same files worked fine in CS and CS2 and whatever it

Ok got this working. Went into my code and deleted everything
from the javascript tag to the closing script tag (see below).
Reinserted my SWF file and it works like a charm.

I cannot open itunes on windows. It keeps saying short cut has changed or moved no longer working properly. I have tried everything. can someone please help. I have a older version of windows running. I cannot even do a repair on my computer

I assume that upgrading the WD SmartWare is irrelevant as it is not being used. Should I upgrade just as a precaution?
One complication is that I have renamed my user since the last time I backed up.

Upgraded reports with left join no longer working in Visual Studio 2008

I've upgraded an ASP.NET project, which has lots of reports, from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual Studio 2008. Any reports that contain a left outer join relationship no longer work and it's driving me mad as I've spent hours on this now. Basically, the join fails because there's no rows on the right side of the relationship. I'm checking for nulls in the formula's and there's no record selection criteria. The report is pulling data from 2 stored procedures and a couple of tables. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. I've already applied SP1 and I assumed it worked, but looking at it in depth I'm not so sure. The installer runs and says its configuring windows etc and it l looks like it finishes, but it doesn't display a message to say installation was successful. When I look in the event log there are warnings during the install, I don't know if I should be worried about them. They are as follows:

As for the report itself, Its connecting to SQL Server and getting the data from 2 stored procedures and a few tables. There are no errors reported in the report, the only warning we have is when you close the database expert it says:
"More than one datasource or a stored procedure has has been used in this report. Please make sure that no SQL expression is added and no server-side group-by is performed." We've always had that message and it's never caused any problems before.

Upgraded to ios4, e-mail no longer works

I have a gmail, an imap and a pop account set up on my phone. After upgrading to ios4 email no longer works. I've tried resyncing the accounts with my Mac as well as deleting and readding the accounts manually directly on the phone. I have access to other email accounts of various types from multiple ISPs and none of them work so I know it has to be an os problem. Has anyone else encountered this, and how do I fix it? Thanks.

First, delete the driver you downloaded. OS X includes a driver for your printer:

Upgraded softeware now the phone no longer works

I upgraded my iphone to the new operqating software and now the phone will no longer work. The computer does not recognize it and all I get on the phone is a itunes symbol and a picture of a usb cord. I have tried reseting the phone and I continualy get the same thing.
Any Ideas??????

Did you perhaps try to upgrade while airplane mode was on? If you did, disconnect your iPhone from your computer, then slide the emergency call switch and follow the prompt to disable airplane mode. Press the home button, connect your iPhone back to your computer and allow activation to take place.

I have an all-in-one printer/copier/fax/scanner, HP Office Jet Pro 8500. The scanner no longer works with the Mavericks upgrade. Is it possible to get the scanner back in use? The printer and fax is fine, but I really use the scanner a lot. Please helap me.

The following link to the HP Support site indicates that scanning is still supported for the OfficeJet Pro 8500 using Mavericks but also indicates that "you may need to scan in a different way than you did before you installed Mavericks." I upgraded an iPad 2 to iOS 7 and since then SIRI no longer works when pressing the HOME button. The settings for SIRI has also disappeared in the GENERAL settings. I have searched and found no posts with this issue!

Factory Unlocked iPhone 3Gs upgraded to 4.2.1 no longer working with SIMs

I think this is an ios 4.2.1 glitch.
I purchased a facotry unlocked iPhone when I was in Jordan because I travel a great deal for work and needed a phone that I could use with many SIM cards. When I set it up the first time, and several times after that when I upgraded the ios iTunes would connect to Apple and welcome me to my apple unlocked phone. For more than a year I have been able to use it will all of my SIM cards.
The last time I upgraded to ios 4.2.1 iTunes did not connect to Apple to confirm my unlocked phone. Additionally my phone will only become activated when I install my Iraqna SIM chip. It won't work with any other SIM.
I have a No Service message on my phone and while it lists all of the SIM information - when I go to General - About - Network I get a message saying 'phone not allowed' for every SIM except my Iraqna.
I tried to restore my phone to the previous ios but couldn't because of the upgraded firmware.
I tried to restore my phone and set it up and a new phone.
I am traveling at the moment and cannot afford to use my hotel phone to be put on hold while waiting to speak to a service representative. I depend on my phone and have been resisting buying a cheap Nokia or an expensive Smartphone to replace my very loved iPhone 3gs.
I also really don't want to have to illegally break into my factory unlocked phone just so that I can use it as a phone.
Please Help.

I take it that you have not heard of this problem and therefore don't have an answer.
I am not living in America at the moment.
Apple most definitely provides factory unlocked phones outside of America. I paid $1000 for this one from an Apple authorized reseller in Amman and it worked perfectly with Apple and iTunes through several ios upgrades for more than a year.
My phone is not tied to a carrier - that is what factory unlocked means.
I upgraded my ios and now I can't use my phone.
If anyone out there has had this problem and has a suggestion or a solution I would be very grateful if you could tell me what it is.

IPad 1 - recent upgrade to new OS and no longer works properly

I've heard good and bad things about this upgrade but I decided to do it to my first generation iPad (tired of getting prompted to upgrade everytime I plug it into my computer). And now that I've done it, I can't get into any of my apps, apart from the standard ones Apple includes with the device and even then, they aren't performing great. Pages never load in Safari...basically, my iPad has been rendered useless.
Is there a fix or a solution for this? Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Does this mean I have to reset my iPad?
I've NEVER had any issue with any upgrades since i've had my iPad. I am very sad now...Please help me!

If the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store aren't working, but the Apple built-in ones still are, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
For Safari you could try clearing it's cache via Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (and Clear History) and see if that helps.

[SOLVED] upgraded to Systemd, BCM4312 wireless no longer working

I just finished upgrading my netbook to Systemd, and to my dismay the wireless stopped working.
lspci -vnn | grep 14e4 reveals that I have a Broadcom BCM4312 LP-PHY rev01.
I believe I was using the Linux kernel driver before with no issues, but now I have tried loading brcmsmac and it's not working.
The kernel driver used to load automatically.
iwconfig shows nothing with a wireless extension, and ip link doesn't even show my wireless NIC. I don't see any issues in journalctl as far as I can tell.
B43 and SSB are blacklisted.
Has anyone else had this problem since upgrading? Any ideas?
I would prefer the linux driver vs broadcom-wl if it can be avoided.

Are your vendor ID:Product ID not 14e4:4315 ?? That device is supported by b43. I would not consider using anything but the b43 driver.
Regardless. be aware that your device probably changed names and may no longer be wlan0. Perhaps that is your real problem.
Were I you, I would reconfigure to again use b43, then check the output of ip link do find your device names.
