Windows 8.1 Pro update caused application to stop working

We have 3 Surface tablets running a catalog application for circulation.  The program has been running on the Surfaces since September.  After the 8.1 Pro upgrade this week, the application no longer runs.  It depends on Java jars but we do
not think that is the problem.  Two Windows 8 Enterprise devices run the app just fine in XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode.  Clicking on the icon does nothing - it usually launches the loading of the jar files.  I can't find anything in
the event logs pertaining to the app.

It seems that this application doesn't support Windows 8.1.
I suggest you contact the developer of  this application to confirm if the software support Windows 8.1.

    Not likely, But try, Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if better. If not, restore iPhone Firmware with iTunes 10.7 or 11 on computer. See if better. If not, and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

    Have you tried completely uninstalling it first, using the Adobe Flash Player Install Manager in the Utilities folder, and then re-installing anew: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    I clicked to update my Ipod touch software and it caused my Ipod to need to be restored to its factory settings.  However, I am unable to do this as each time Itunes tries to download the software it says that the store is unavailable.  I am unable to use my Ipod at the moment due to this.
    I tried contacting the tech support via e-mail but they were very unhelpful and suggested paying a fee to them to get more support.
    Is anyone able to help with this?

    What does the detailed crash report say?
    And have you updated your video card drivers from the GPU maker's website? (most crashes on launch are due to bugs in out of date video card drivers)

  • CS3 Updates cause programs to not work with Windows 7?

    Has anyone else had their programs stop working after an Adobe update was installed?  Although I have been told by 5 different Adobe staff members that CS3 is "not at all compatible" with Windows 7...it somehow worked on two machines for 6 months.  Then a recent Adobe update caused it to not work.  I could understand if it never worked with Windows 7, but it stopped working after Adobe's update.  I am sure that Adobe has the resources to test their updates on Windows 7 machines and would have found this problem.  What would make them proceed with giving their customers this update...hmmm maybe the release of CS5???
    I also asked if they could send me a CD (since I chose a download) of the original CS3 suite without the updates and they told me that they don't have any.  Really??? Adobe doesn't have any copies of a program that is only 3 years old?

                 I'm not sure I have the answers to all your questions. Although I use Photoshop and Lightroom extensively, I'm not a 'techy'.
    My system;
    Packard bell imedia S2885
    1TB hard drive
    500G RAM
    Windows 8.1   64- bit
    Intel core i5 4440
    If I open Photoshop cc14 without opening any image, I still get an error message that reads: 'Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware'.
    There is also a link to the Adobe help site, but I'm not sure exactly what I should be downloading from there.

    my PSLT6E-007004GR is almost a year old.
    Earlier this month there was an update - possibly from Microsoft - and since then popt always at startup in Windows 7 this window and look for solutions:
    Catalyst Control Center. Host Application has stopped working, it is searched for a solution.
    A new installation of the graphics card driver and Catalyst Control Center did not change. Instead, a standard graphics card driver from Microsoft is installed.
    Resetting the system to the month of October also brought nothing, for after fresh updates, the problem occurs again.
    So it is reproducible.
    Have already reported more customers or am I the first?
    What can you do to the problem?

    Do you get this display driver update from Windows Update?
    If yes restore the system to an earlier point and disable this display driver update and choose only the important updates from Windows. Thats enough.
    Otherwise you could try to run CCleaner. It can clean and fix registry problems.

    Did you try to reinstall the Toshiba BT stack?
    Usually this should help to get rid of this error message.
    Here you can download the newest BT stack:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/
    Remove firstly the old BT software from the system and after new reboot install the BT downloaded from the Toshiba BT page.

    I have a video assignment due this week and I really don't want to have to restart my project on different editing software. I am going to have to ask for a premiere pro refund for this month if I can't get it to work. The software was working fine until 3 days ago. Please help - thanks!

    I just installed Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 as trial to see if its working on my system but as soon as i launch it, it crashes with the following errors on splash screen: Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.0 has stopped working followed by Adobe QT32 Server CC 2014.0 has stopped working.
    System Info:
    Windows x64 bit
    16GB RAM
    Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.39GHz
    NVIDIA GeForze GTX 660 (fully updated)
    I turned off Windows 7 Sync Center (suggested in adobe forums) but it didn't help.
    I tried running it as administrator, and playing with the permissions but nothing helped.
    Please help me with my problem.

    I have the same problem too.
    I try format pc ans reinstall win7 64 bits totally clean, but nothing...
    Drivers are update, intel i7,nvidia gtx 760,all works fine in all aplications and games.
    When open media encoder or premiere or after effects crash is startup and show message adobeqt 32 stoped.
    The sp1 are install too.
    I think what adobe cc 2104 fails hards and adobe needs fix this.
    The solutions how reinstall or update drivers not work, fix a problem please.
