Windows 8.1 Problem with games from windows store.

I've got a problem with games from windows store. The installation is going well without any problems, however when I try to open it it's loading and then it turns off. The same problem happens when I try to use Games for Windows. I've use a sfc scan and
it shows some errors but unfortunately it cannot fix them. Should I share the CBS log or find the solution somewhere else? I hope you help, best regards.

According to my experience, the problem like store game app open failed probably caused by hardware driver. such as Audio and Graphic driver. So, first of all, please try to reinstall these two driver to fix this problem for test.
In addition, for SFC scan failed problem, it can be caused by many reasons, I would suggest you use another command to fix your system for test.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Also you can test SFC command in Windows 8.1 safe mode.
Thirdly, if problem persists, please check Event Viewer, generally speaking, it would record the app open failed events.

Also, this only happens when you try to move certain pieces to certain squaresThat might be a clue. Try printing out the indexes before line 193 and see what happens. Maybe use a debugger to step through your code.

Problem with games in windows

I'm having a problem running games, and I can't figure out why it's happening or how to fix it. I'm using a base model Macbook, about three weeks old, running Windows XP Home...first with SP2, now with SP3. I had gb of RAM, but I dropped it back down to the stock RAM to see if maybe a bad stick was causing the problem. No performance drop in the games, so I'm leaving it that way for the time being. This is my second Macbook, and my first was replaced due to a pletora of other problems. It didn't do this, though.
Randomly in games, I get a blue screen and the computer shuts down. This is the error I get:
Error code 000000ea = "THREADSTUCK_IN_DEVICEDRIVER" - A device driver is spinning in an infinite loop, most likely waiting for hardware to become idle. This usually indicates problem with the hardware itself, or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. In many cases this is the result of a bad video card or a bad display driver.
Mainly the game I'm running is Phantasy Star Universe, which worked perfectly fine on my old Macbook, which was also a base model, but a couple generations older. It had the Intel GMA 950 chipset, where the newer one has the Intel GMA 965 chipset. The game actually runs slightly worse than it did on the old machine, but the game by no means pushes the Macbook to it's limits. Anyway, from anywhere between 10 to 40 minutes into the game, it'll blue screen. It's not just this game, though, it's done it elsewhere, but not nearly as frequently as when playing the game. I also have to point out that I don't run anything else when playing the game. I intentionally shut down everything that's not important when I run games, to avoid any conflicts.
I've tried a number of different versions of Intel's drivers, and played with the settings, gradually downgrading it's performance. I've tried re-intalling the game, changing settings in the game, reinstalling windows, updating windows, changing my ram. I'm grasping at straws here, and I don't know what's to blame. I want to point my finger at bad drivers, or bad hardware. I' blame the game if it behaved the same way on my old Macbook. I initially thought it was the game, because it kept happening in the same areas, but I proved it to be coincidence. The hardware isn't THAT different. From what I've been told, the graphics chipset in the newer Macbook should perform a lot better than it does, but Intel's drivers are kind of...blah. But are they blah enough to cause chronic issues? If it IS a driver issue, at this point the only solution is to wait for Intel to update them and hope the problem is fixed. I'm extremely paranoid about it being a hardware issue, due to my experience with my old Macbook.

Just a thought, but what if its spyware or a trojan horse?/Virus?

Samsung SSD causing problem with upgrade from Windows 8.0 to 8.1

I'm having trouble upgrading my HP Desktop from the OEM installed Windows 8.0 to 8.1. I first attempted the upgrade when 8.1 was first rolled out. It seemed to upgrade okay, but after a reboot I was left with a black screen... no error messages, just a black screen.
I retried it this morning, but this time it failed with DPC_Watchdog_Exception and then Machine_Check_Exception. After searching through several forums, I'm "guessing" it may be Disk 0, which is a Samsung 830 Series SSD (Model: MZ7PC256/0H1, s/n: S0U3NSAC705912, p/n: MZ7PC256HAFU-000H1) that was installed and configured by HP when I ordered this desktop in 2012.
Samsung's Magician software doesn't recognize this SDD as a supported product, but they do identify it as a Samsung MZ7PC256HAFU-000H1, with Firmware version CXM05H1Q. I thought I'd see if a firmware upgrade was available, but there's no information about this SSD on Samsung's support site. Also, HP doesn't offer any firmware for this SSD... not even the original firmware. Everything I've seen on the internet says it's a custom OEM SSD that's not supported by Samsung.
I'm not desparate to upgrade to Win8.1, but I would like to know exactly why the upgrade keeps failing. I have another SSD available (a Samsung 850 Pro, model: MZ-7KE256BW) that I've considered using to replace the current Drive 0, but I hate swapping out parts without knowing it's actually the problem.
I'm open to advice. The info on my current system follows. Also, I should point out that there are no device conflicts nor outdate drivers.

Hi,
You will find the latest firmware for the Samsung 830 at the Samsung SSD download site. Additionally, you will also find the latest version of the Samsung Magician.
Backup your data and be sure to create the external HP recovery media.
I prefer not to clone but rather to use the external HP recovery media to load the SSD.
If you are not on the latest SSD firmware then flash the SSD. Use the latest version of the Magician to do so.
Disable Secure Boot in the BIOS before cloning the hard drive.
Then reformat and clone the SSD using the latest Samsung migration software. Use the original HP hard drive as the source and it needs to be intact as you need to bring across all of the partitions.
Power off the PC and disconnect the original boot HD.
Connect the SSD to the original boot SATA port.
Do not have any other SSDs or hard drives connected that contain an EFI partitions or you might run into issues with multiple Windows boot loders.

Problem with recovering from windows phone 10 to 8.1

I installed windows phone 10 on my phone (lumia 730) and after a survey decided to turn back to WP 8.1. So, I installed windows phone recovery tool on my lap top and connected my phone with in. In the middle of recovery process the connection failed and
my phone turned off. Now, it does not power on and there is no response to charge and it seems the phone is dead. please guide me in this way.

Problem with Upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I tried to get Windows 10 on my Probook 4540s and it downloads fine. It then checks the software on the computer and find a program that is not compatable and says I must uninstall it to continue. I would uninstall it but want to be sure I am noy going to cause more issues by doing so. The program that it does not like is the HP tools software, it includes the biometric scan and such. Would it be safe to uninstall these or should I wait to see if there will be a workaround for this issue.

There is no workaround other than removing it as suggested, that software is not compatible with W10 and never will be.

Problems with migration from Windows to Mac

I recently purchased a new Macbook Pro and proceeded to move my Lightroom program and catalog to the new computer. I have 77,000 digital image files stored on an external hard drive, so I placed my catalog on the external drive to make the move to the new machine. I plugged the hard drive into the new laptop and wasn't pleased to see that my catalog seemed to work fine. However, when I ran the 'find missing files' command the program identified over 22,000 images that couldn't be located. When I manually went to point the catalog to the files' locations nothing happened. Repeating the locate missing files command produced an error saying that the image couldn't be used because it was already linked.
I'm confused about what to do here..... about the only thing I can thing of now is to totally recreate the catalog, which would of course make me lose the work I've done for the last 9 months.
Any suggestions?

I'm having problem with shares on Windows 2003R2 server from a Windows 8.1 PC. It times out when I try to copy a file from my PC to the server and I get an error message saying "There is a problem accessing network drive W:\. Make sure you are
connected to the network and try again."
I have no problem copying files from the server to the PC.

How about your problem now? Have you test other machine also installed Windows 8.1? Did they have this problem?
To diagnose this problem, firstly, please check Windows 2003R2 firewall settings, also can disable firewall temporarilly for test.
Secondly, try to use Network Monitor to capture network communication package for test.

Is there a problem with JFrame and window listeners?

As the subject implies, i'm having a problem with my JFrame window and the window listeners. I believe i have implemented it properly (i copied it from another class that works). Anyway, none of the events are caught and i'm not sure why. Here's the code

It turned out that my ide was running the old jar and not updating it, so no matter what code i added, it wasn't being seen. Everything should be fine now.

Problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1. Acer Aspire E5-511

I bought an Acer Aspire E5-511, but I have problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1.The touchpad (Synaptics) is not working with Windows 8.1 x64, but it works fine with Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64.When I install Windows 8.1 and have to choose” language to install” I can’t choose anything with the touchpad. I should plug in my mouse to continue. I doesn’t work even when it’s fully installed and with latest driver (available only for win 8.1 x64) from Acer’s website. I tried with an older driver, but had no success. I updated BIOS, but it doesn’t work again. In hardware IDS in device manager it shows HID\… not ACPI\… (like win 7/8). Fn+F7 doesn’t help.When I try to install Windows7/8 the touchpad is working properly at the beginning (I can choose ”language to install”, “Time and currency format”… and the touchpad works after install even without driver).

SOLUTION So guys after deep research and troubleshooting I found that you need to keep notice of a few things at time of installation: Installation Mode: UEFI (only)- LEGACY would create touchpad issues. after installation of windows just follow the driver installation hierarchy 1.Intel NB_Chipset_M Baytrail-M 2.Intel I/O Driver then rest of the crap. Note:After doing all this make sure your touchpad is active >> Fn+F7 Just wished if this solution came from an acer executive , the world would have been a better place , but anyways this is what community is for. Enjoy everyone

Problem with the Finder window in Chrome

Hello,
I have a problem with my finder window in Chrome.
Since the window isn't a separate window anymore, but stuck to the top of the webpage, my finder window is too big. I can't read the "Cancel" or "Send" (I have no idea what's supposed to be there in English but I assume it's something like "send" and "cancel") buttons. I have provided some images of the problem, even if I make the Chrome window as small as possible, the finder window still is too big for my screen. I can resize the finder window from lest to right, but not up or down, which is extremely irritating for me.
If anyone can help me how I can solve this problem.

I found the solution on another thread...Here it is.
"I was having the same problem. I found a way to make it smaller. First, I opened chrome and clicked the green button on the window to make chrome go into full screen. Then I tried to save a file to make the finder window open in chrome. When it opened in full screen I could see the bottom of the window so I resized it to make it a little smaller. Once I did this it remembered the size so now I can access the bottom buttons when I take it out of full screen mode. Hope this helps."

How about using a listbox with glyph?
1. select the folder
2. populate the listbox with files in the selected folder
3. set "unchecked" glyph for all the items (files)
4. when double clic on an item, chnage the corresponding glyph to "checked"
5. when selection is done, clic ok
6. then filtre the array depending on the glyph
See attached example in LV 8.6
