Windows 8.1 recurring BSoD (BAD_POOL_HEADER) with Bootcamp

Dump files - https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=5D2B2627890829C!462&authkey=!AGLwKEUk2zRCl eM&ithint=file%2c.zip
I just upgraded my Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8.1 Pro and have been getting these BSoD's as soon as I reach the start screen.
Had to restart several times just to get into one working section, but lately since 3 days I can barely even boot in.
The BSoD shows right in the middle of the boot screen.
I have tried reinstalling Windows, it didn't work.
I am using mid 2011 21.5" iMac with Bootcamp.
The dump files show its a problem with MacHALDriver.sys but I can't boot into Windows any longer, so can't disable the PnP driver.
Please help!

There may well be but it is years since I supported MS Windows.
Those two suggestions did not work, I would post your question on the Boot Camp forum.
Doing a web search it seems that this error is known but apart from the uPnP disabling which you cannot do I can find no other answer.
Try the other forum and hopefully someone there will be of help.

The minidump files showed a BAD_POOL_HEADER (19) stop error caused by the MacHALDriver.sys:
    BUCKET_ID:  0x19_20_MacHALDriver+1714
Bootcamp.exe is the process that crashes.

  • "earlier versions of windows are not supported boot camp" with bootcamp 5.1.2

    Hi everyone !
I have a problem about installing window 8.0 pro 64-bit with bootcamp ( v5.1.2 ). When I finished setting up, Bootcamp shows me a message as " earlier versions of windows are not supported boot camp " although I'm using bootcamp with 5.1.2 version. How can I resolve it ? My mac is mgxa2 mid 2014.
    Thanks a lot !

Thanks for supporting to me .
According to "Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems - Apple Supports" If I use bootcamp version equal or greater than 5, so I can do it. But my current bootcamp likes that. So why not ? . In the first time I set up though bootcamp , it's good but now it always shows that message .

  • I am trying to install windows 7 to my Macbook pro with bootcamp but every time I open bootcamp I am only able to check the first two boxes but not the third one saying "install or remove Windows 7", any solutions ?

Hi, I am trying to install Windows on my MacBook Pro with bootcamp. Every time I open bootcamp I am only able to check the first two boxes but not the third one saying "install or remove Windows 7". I did this before using the same computer and the same hard drive so I am not sure why this is happening now but did´t happen then. Any solutions ?

Was your Bootcamp info.plist manipulated to change any options?

  • Install windows 7 on my macbook pro with bootcamp.

I am trying to install Windows 7 off of a dvd version of windows on my macbook pro with bootcamp. I have gotten to the installer screen of windows 7 and each time I proceed, I get an error message saying it does not recognize my drivers. I installed the drivers from bootcamp on a freshly formatted usb drive. I don't understand why it won't read the drivers.

32 bit or 63 bit Windows?
From the Boot Camp System Requirements page located here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634, there is no mid 2011 13" Macbook Pro.
Here are your choices and the correct Windows Support software version to use:

Part of my work is in a PC environment (architecture) and I want to use a new MacBook Pro with Bootcamp. Does the Migration Assistant work to bring software and files from the PC to Windows on the Mac?
Any other advice on making the transition?

Try asking your Boot Camp question in the Boot Camp forum rather than in the Windows Compatibility forum. The Boot Camp gurus hang out in the Boot Camp forum: https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

  • I need all windows vista drivers on imac20" leopard with BootCamp

    Hi Dears,
I have formatted my windows vista on my imac20" and I installed windows Vista again but I found that I don't have sound in the system and the video quality became worse than before, and I can't type in arabic, So I need all the drivers for it to work again as before,
sound, video, keyboard ( I have Multilingual keyboard Arabic & English ),
and what ever drivers you guys think that I will need..
    Thanx & Regards

You can find people here, where even AFTER installing Apple hardware support, they still had audio problems; needed graphic drivers.
Glad it works fine, I'd reserve "perfect." Boot Camp 3 has trouble with the AppleHFS if you look around.
I've heard so many stories of support advice, and I doubt unless they work with BootCamp and Windows on Mac fulltime they know all the ins-outs.
64-bit versions of Vista/7 are still not getting Apple official support. Have to see if the newest iMac changes that, would be a crime, now that it can easily be outfitted with such niceties as 8GB, better graphics, Core i5/i7.

  • Can you install windows 8.1 on external hd with bootcamp ?

is this possible ? can i have an external hd usb 3.0 running windows 8.1 instead of splitting my macbook hd to run windows side

not 100% but don't believe bootcamp support that or even if windows itself does
thing is that if the usb drivers are loaded later then the bootcamp come into play the bootcamp bootloader can't detect the hd

  • Using a Windows formatted iPod Nano (4th Gen) with Bootcamp on a Mac(Win XP

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use a previously formatted iPod Nano (4th Gen) with a Mac that has XP Bootcamped on to it. If the Nano is placed in manually manage music with the original computer it was formatted with, will it be able to accept music, movies, podcasts, etc from the windows on the Mac or will they still be incompatible?

Well, I have 4 internal drive bays filled already, is there room somewhere for 5th one in the box? I wasn't aware of it if there is?? My mac is MacPro3,1, early 2008.
That macsales.com link is interesting but I'm not in the US (I'm in Croatia), and all those brands are supidly expensive here, that $80 esata docking station is almost $200 here... bahh. For that price I may as well buy a whole new 3TB external disk, I want to dock the old one to save money.
I've browsed around and I've found Icy Box docks, which have much more reasonable prices:
    BOX IB-110StUS2-B
    ICY BOX IB-111StUS2-Wh
    ICY BOX IB-115StUS2HC
They all claim to have OSX support... anyone have any experience with them?

  • Running Windows 2003 Server on Xserve Intel with BootCamp?

    Well...
This sounds like awfully bad idea, but one of our clients needs to run Windows 2003 Server for a certain project in their organisation. Fundings for the new hardware is available. Windows-compatible hardware!
The idea here is to get fundings for a new Xserve, run it with Windows 2003 Server in the project and then keep the delicious hardware for free when the project ends. A PC-server would be thrown out of a window in this 100% Mac-centric department.
Windows 2003 Server runs smoothly on a MacPro with Boot Camp and Parallels Desktop. What about the XServe Intel?

    Schuckert-
    Greetings.
Are you in a position to test the configuration for a while? If so then I vote do it. If not, you could buy a copy of OSX Server and install it on a Mac Pro and try running your software on the XServe platform.
However, depending on your relationship with this client, I would have them sign a release based upon the beta-ness of the software.
A lot of us here are not in a position to give such things a try-just yet. Too busy trying to make things transition smoothly on the accepted configurations.
Although I will say that I suppose a client will eventually pose the question to me (:>)
    Luck-

  • HT5628 I installed Windows 8 before it was supported, with Bootcamp 4. What benefits are there in upgrading to Bootcamp 5?

Everything seems to be working, although there may be features I haven't tried yet that don't work, such as Bluetooth or the Apple IR.

Boot Camp 5 contains the most recent drivers and specially designed for your Mac mini and Windows 8. Note that Boot Camp 4 drivers aren't compatible officially with Windows 8 even if they are working correctly, so you may get a better performance if you upgrade to the most recent drivers and you will get all the hardware working. Download and install Boot Camp 5 into Windows from Apple page > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638

  • Will Windows 7 OEM/System builder work with bootcamp?

    Hello,
I have a early 2009 Mac Pro 2.26x2. I want to install windows 7. Will windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM/System builders edition work with my mac and boot camp, or do I need the full retail version? The OEM system builder edition is much cheaper than the retail version. Later on I may build a core i7 kit PC as a dedicated game machine, would I be able to use the same copy of WIndows 7 64bit OEM/System builder, or would I have to buy another copy for the kit PC? Thanks very much.
    -Eric

    Hi Eric,
recently installed Win7 systems builder version without issues.
System builder versions aren't originally boxed, manuals and MS phone support is not included.
Be aware that Home Premium is limited to only 1 physical cpu (unlimited cores), Professional and Ultimate support 2 physical cpu (Had to learn this the hard way).
If you buy a PC later on without preinstalled OS, you officially will have to buy another copy (or family pack) of Win7.

  • Windows with BootCamp

This might seem like a dumb question but I have never used BootCamp before and am getting curious.  I have a scanner (radio freq such as local Air Traffic Control) and I am looking to run a specific software to assist in uploading frequencies to the scanner.
So here is the question... do I need to purchase a copy of windows to load onto my mac with BootCamp?

A full version of Windows is needed to install through Bootcamp, yes.

Can I install a branded version of Windows 7 on my MacBook  Pro with MAC OS 10.7.5. I am attempting to  run a Windows version of Family Tree Maker with BootCamp. I am having too many problems with the Mac version of Family Tree Maker wity syncing.
    Thank you,

I will be purchasing a version of windows and the branded full install cost less and was hoping it would work.
