Windows 8.1. sound lost after a variable time. Ver...

After looking into many posts here I cannot find anything that helps my Skype to drop the sound from the "other" side.
My system is very standard. Windows 8.1 updates itself automatically and so does Skype. There is no other virus protection other than what follows with 8.1. There are two load-speakers: one pair that connects by wires to the sound card. The other pair is a Logitech wireless headset. In this forum someone said that changing speakers helped. Not so here.
I have a one-year landline subscription for Europe.
This set-up has worked perfectly well for years and also for several months on 8.1. But since a couple of months the problem with the disconnection has begun. By experiment we know that the person I call can hear my voice, but I cannot hear him/her any longer. This happens after a variable duration of the call; fom a minute to 10 minustes or so. Annoying, I must say.
Any suggestion would be very welcome.

Error Code 52 means: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an
unknown source.
According to the error code, it should be the driver problem. What's the problem to uninstall the driver?  Can you uninstall it through Control Panel? You can try to delete them by boot into safe mode for test.

  • Problems with Premiere Pro 2.0:  sound lost after clip pasting

    To integrate small projects to one bigger Project, it used to work well with Premiere Pro 1.5 in the following way: import small projects into the main sequence of the new project and, in parallel, copy the clips from the timeline of the small projects and past them into the timeline of the new project. However, I am encountering the following problems while trying to do the same thing with Premiere Pro 2.0:
    ·        Video and sound of every pasted clip becomes unlinked.
    ·        Although the sound was there (also shows in the wave view) right after the pasting and it can be rendered, but the audio Information gets lost as soon as I exit the new project (saved beforehand). If I re-open this new project, although the timeline shows all the pasted sound clips, but there is information in them - no sound (the wave views show only straight lines).
    ·        As well, some of the video and audio effect settings get lost (e.g. cross fading), but the effects such as brightness and contrast settings always remain.
    ·        At least one thing seems to be sure: the imported files themselves are ok. Newly created clips in the timeline from those imported files (dragged into the timeline) are fine - no information lost.

    Though not described in the English HELP, but in the German HELP: I have to press the Shift and T Keys. It works in my case with the following steps:
    1.     Mark the corresponding audio and video tracks
    2.     Put CTI over the clip
    3.     Press shift + T
    4.     Double click the clip
    5.     Eventually I have to repeat and press the keys shift +T again.

    After installing itunes 10.5 to be able to get the ios5 update my itunes plays every file with really bad, distorted quality. I try other players even Quicktime works fine. What could be happening?

    Try to download, and install the latest Realtek HD Audio driver.

  • IPhoto 09 - some recent events lost after restoring from Time Machine

    recently my early-2009 iMac hanged during boot up on the white screen. so i a restore from Time Machine and it works. this freezing occurred twice of the last one week, which i did 2 restore to last backup. then i notice there's an issue with iPhoto 09. i notice some latest events which supposedly been backup during the restore point, appears 'blank'. when i enter Time Machine, i see all previous events but the recent day or two, it just turn out to be black squares, and when i enter the events there weren't any photos but just files with names.
    i tested again but loading in a couple of new photos into iPhoto yesterday night, back it up and double check in Time Machine, it is (the new photos) there. about 6-hours later i make a check again (on Time Machine), the photos event became the black square again. this is really a pain for me as i have lost enough photos
    i desperately need help on this. anyone?

    So if I understand:
    1.) The goal is to restore the iPhoto Library from a point before the issues started happening
    2.) When you try to go backwards in Time Machine while inside the iPhoto window you get a blank Library when you get to the date range you want.
    What to do:
    - As you cannot seem to access the iPhoto contents using the iPhoto window I would suggest the following:
    1.) Navigate using the Finder to ~/Pictures (or whatever folder you are currently housing your iPhoto Library in)
    2.) Rename the current iPhoto Library to something else (Like iPhoto Library Old etc)
    3.) While looking at this Pictures window, activate Time Machine and go back in time to a date when YOU ARE SURE iPhoto was working fine and had the images you want
    4.) Click on the iPhoto Library in the Time Machine window and click on Restore
    -- This will restore the Library from the date in question
    -- You will have 2 libraries once the restore is complete. The freshly restored library and the old library. Keep the old library just for safe keeping until such time as you determine you have all the pictures you want. Then you can do whatever you want with it (trash it, etc)

  • Qosmio X500: Lan/Internet connection get lost after period of time

    Hi all,.
    I got the qosmio x500 for about half a year now...
    I got this problem where after about 5 hours or less the lan/internet connection get lost.
    I disabled the wireless connection and is using only the wired connnection now.
    When it get disconnected... all devices seems to work seemlessly, no problem can be found. I checked the win7 network adaptor --and it seems to be connected properly.
    I haven't got a slightest idea how to fix that.... Only a reset of the system and reloading the os results with a valid connection.
    It is even stranger,. When using it for a piriod of time (listeding to audio streams from the web)... when getting back to the machine the audio connection seems to work properly.... but when trying to access other sites, or other machines in the homegroup, or network (under explorer). It result faulty.
    Please guide me somehow how to fix the issue, it is bugging me a lot (all these resets to the machine probably doesn't do it any good as well).

    It could be the energy saving feature of your network card.
    Right click Network Icon on the status bar, choose 'Open Network Center and Sharing', Click on 'Connection', Click on 'Properties' (low left button), you'll see the tab with your Network Properties. Click 'Configure' (Upper right button), choose 'Power Management' (last right tab).
    Uncheck 'Allow computer to shut down this device to save energy'. Probably your problem will now be solved.
    If the names I write aren't exactly right, I'm on a French language computer so my translations can be slightly wrong.

  • New PC, Xfi, driver installed, sound disapears after a short time

    Help.
    I have a new computer which i've been looking forward to some time.
    I think my motherboard is Asus P32N SLI or something similiar.
    Quad core and X-fi music on Vista Premium
    I installed the drivers from the CD and rebooted then I couldnt change speaker settings from 2. or 5. (depending which time I tried), I want 7. but it just reverts back to those.
    I used Auto update and rebooted, the sound of windows starting up came and then on windows nothing, on the test sound in control panel I get "Failed to play test tone" and nothing works, yet the device is there, its got drivers, and I can't figure it out.
    Please help!

    But I just discovered that that it is actually not only the sound that stops working but rather the whole video that has a "hick-up" and then when it continues the sound is gone. If I fastforward/rewind then it seem like the player rocovers and play the stream correctly again.
    What are the Mp4 clip prefs you have used when converting?
    I am planning to try some other settings when converting to see if that makes any difference but I doubt it will help. I think we will have to wait for a "better" i.e. working Video Player for the iPod ...

  • WIKI etc. lost after restoring from time machine

    Here's what happened I restored the full server from Time Machine and everything works a treat except  the web, blogs and the calendar, I cannot be activated from the Web services tab. Webmail works though but only if I go directly to the webmail www.server-name/webmail
    I had nothing in the wiki or the blog, so the content is not my concern, but of course now that it isn't working I want to use it.
    Any ideas? Can I reinstall just the webservices in anyway?

    Time Machine is a limited tool for data backup and restoration of Mac OS X Server v10.6. It can back up some server configuration settings and service state. Time Machine does not back up service data.

    I read that to be Apple's way of saying, "Don't trust your server data to this user-level backup program."
    That said, if I understand the problem you're having, it may not be related to Time Machine, but instead may be a corrupt config file or a misconfiguration in the configs. I might check the various logs to see if there are any errors reported. Apache logs, in particular the error.log files, may be of some benefit and possibly point in the direction to show why you can't start the services. Also, don't forget to double-check that you have the right DNS entries in place for your server and the right entries in the Web config for your sites. On my systems, Apache will start, but won't serve any wiki or blog pages unless forward and reverse DNS resolves properly for every site.

    No, the recovery disks don't rely on anything on the hard drive.  From what you say, either you are not booting from the optical drive, or the disks indeed are faulty.
    The last I knew, replacement disks were $25.  See the sticky at the top of the General Discussion topic for details.
    There have been a lot of reports of problems with recovery disks, so I'm a bit surprised that Toshiba won't ship you replacements at no charge.  Might be worth another try, and an attempt to get to the next tech level.

  • Lost my sound just after hibernating the Satellite

    Hello forum,
    I have lost my sound just after hibernating my computer.
    I did a google on the issue and people reported that there sound mixer and/or driver went missing.
    In my case however i can still access the mixer and windows says my sound driver is fine.
    Also when I click on the mixer, the green bar moves showing that the sound is playing.
    Any suggestions on the problem would be very much appreciated.

    O/S: Windows 7 [64bit]
    Toshiba model: SATELLITE L650-12P

    I upgraded my system to windows 7 ultimate from Vista and installed itunes 64px. but when I copy the old itunes folder into D://music and opened itunes, all my music cannot be played. each link shows the mp3 location as: file://localhost/D://music/itunes... ... I ve tried deleting library file and copy/past the original one again. doesn't work. what should I do now. It's 106 GB songs. I cannot locate them one by one nor lose all my ratings and play counts.

    Was that Win 7 update from Lenovo, or Microsoft?  If Lenovo, it should have installed those missing features. If it was from Microsoft, you have to manually install the Lenovo drivers and software.
    The easiest way to do that is to first install ThinkVantage System Update and run it.  It should download and install the other drivers and apps.  I'm running Win 7 pro 64 on my T400 - a MS upgrade clean install, then TVSU installed the Lenovo stuff.  Everything works.
    Use the "SUPPORT" button at the top of this page, then "Download drivers and software" enter T400, install TVSU and you should be off to the races.

  • Which kind of permission will lost after re-build Windows OS

    Dear professional guys :
    I have to rebuild my File Server (Win2008R2) because of hardware issues.    But I am not sure which kind of permission will lost after re-build it.  
    This server only have 1 share folder named 'sharefile' and its share permission is simple (only domain user can read) but we had deployed its NTFS permission before.   I know we can backup its ntfs permission by icacls (it is really a great tool).  But
    I just confused which kind of permission will lost ??   Whether domain user permission will be kept as before ?  
    I don't think NTFS permission information was saved in OS, it seems saved in file/folder properties.    
    Do you have any good opinion ?    
    I searched many docs and books but really can't find any useful information.

    The local user accounts will retain in NTFS permissions after re-build Windows Operating System. User accounts not belonging to the local user accounts such as domain user will not be recognized by the File Server.

When no headphones are plugged in and I try to use the volume control on side sound effects comes up but no sound is made. I get sound over main speaker when i adjust alert volume. I restarted and downloaded iOS 6 update with no results.

    Try this:
    1. Settings>General>Use Side-Switch To>Lock Rotation.
    2. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right.
    3. Make sure the button on the far left of Task Bar is not muted

  • After installing Flash player updates, Recently Closed Windows in History menu lost

    Hi Friends,
    This is just an annoying problem, not really serious, I guess. Whenever I download and install Flash Player updates, History > Recently Closed Tabs, and History > Recently Closed Windows, are wiped out.
    This is a problem for me, because when I log on to my computer every morning, I use History > Restore Previous Session, to get back all the tabs I had open the night before. And often also Recently closed Windows, if I had a 2nd and/or 3rd Ff window open last night. After I install Flash Player, the previous session becomes the Adobe update site. I think I can avoid losing the previous session, by making sure I open my previous session before I start the download and installation.
    (I don't use fully automatic updates for Flash. I have the system alert me when it's ready, and then the next time I log on to the internet, the download popup window appears. I don't know why it waits until the next time I log on, instead of right after I click ok (and also ok on Spybot S&D and WinPatrol alerts). And I know you can't provide support for that part. But just to let you know all the relevant info :-) .)
    So normally, if I've done something to lose my previous session (with all my usual tabs) (usually when I'm in a hurry and don't notice that I've opened Ff without restoring previous session) I can still get that session because it shows up in Recently Closed Windows.
    But after I install the Flash update, Recently Closed Windows (and Recently closed Tabs) are both wiped out.
    I'm hoping someone can sort this out, and I can just change some setting somewhere, to prevent this. Or maybe like the previous session, and remembering to open it, before I start the dl, it might just be a matter or altering my habits. I can't think of any habit changing that would work though. So that's why I'm asking all you wise Ff users :-) Hopefully it's not a bug?

    hello, this problem happens since the adobe installer triggers the opening of a browser window once the update is finished, which then overwrites the last session...
    you could try if adding ''SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1'' to the adobe mms.cfg configuration file addresses that issue, as described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/administration-configure-auto-update-notification.html

  • After a Windows 7 crash I lost all folders under Local Folders on Thunderbird 24.5.0; how can I recover them?

    I had a crash on my Windows 7 Home Premium and after that was resolved, all my folders under "Local Folders" in my Thunderbird ver. 24.5.0 disappeared! I have 6 accounts but they were not affected and all my emails are there. However I had many folders under Local Folders with very important business messages, but they are not there anymore. I found one of the main folders in my profile, under "Mail" but it contains only a very few sub-folders. How can I recover these folders and where are they now?

    What exactly happened in between the 'crash' and ' that was resolved'?

  • HDMI Only sound option after windows 7 reinstall

    My windows 7 install became corrupt in some way and would not let me install, so I reinstalled it. I downloaded all the drivers and windows updates that I have the several other times I've reinstalled windows. Since the reinstall, the only audio device thats been available is the HDMI output. It is the only option in the sound section of the control panel. Everything is hooked up properly and I have tried several different drivers. I have a 5.1 surround system hooked up. 
    My computer is the Hp Pavilion m8100y. The only driver available for this computer on the HP website is a lightscribe update, no sound drivers, or anything else for that matter. I tried drivers from several other sites but they either didn't work, said they weren't compatible with this version of windows, or that they were not compatable with the hardware. The sound worked perfectly until the reinstall.

    I had already tried that one twice, and just did again. HDMI is stil the only option. When I look at the list of hardware on my computer, theres 2 High Definition Audio Controllers, 4 NVIDIA High Definition Audio (which I assume come from my gfx card), and the Realtek High Definition Audio. I don't now if this information helps at all, but those are the various audio devices my computer says are installed, and they all say working properly and that their drivers are up to date.
    I had the windows 8 consumer preview installed on a different HDD, and up until windows 7 was finished installing on this one, the audio continued to work on windows 8. Since it finished installing, I also have not been able to access the HDD with windows 8 through windows explorer (it just doesn't show up) and when I try to boot it from the BIOS boot menu, it just loads this HDD with windows 7.
