whether the scale of windows 8.1 on my PC wrong ?.
what gives? motherboard bios or vga ?.

Hi Nagamayasi,
This should be related with the different configuration settings of the Video card driver.
Would you please have a share with the Video card inforamtion and the configuration?
You may take a try to set both of the two video cards into the same screen resolution, then check if there would be any difference.

I think the problem in the monitor, but when I tried it with my laptop (Windows 8.1) which is connected to the same monitor, Windows 8.1 startup logo, normal.
whether the problem is in the vga or on the motherboard?

Can't see the photo you attached (it seems because it's source from asus forum )
Did you mean the blue window logo with dots circle?
Are you using UEFI win8.1 and enable the win8 feature in bios?

  • Using Parallels with Windows 7 on Bootcamp caused startup logo to disappear

Please let me know whether this is just neurotic or what! Windows 7 RC on Bootcamp partition worked great until I installed a trial copy of Parallels 5.0. Even with Parallels, things seemed fine, but I did not like some behaviors of the program when run under Parallels. Using Parallels, I was leery about the issue that when I clicked on the icon of the E-drive (the Macintosh hard drive), I kept getting the message that it needed to be formatted. Certainly I was able to access the files of the MacIntosh through shared folders, and by dragging files from desktop to desktop, but I saw very little advantage of for running Parallels for what I do with the Windows programs, and I did not want to mess up the Macintosh hard drive by an accidental reformat while using Windows. Also I like the fact that if I start Windows from the Bootcamp partition rather than access it via Parallels, Windows is physically well isolated from MacOSX, I do not really have a chance to delete or mess up the Mac hard drive, and at the same time one can access the Mac OSX disk for files that might be needed by dragging these into the Windows partition. Parallels just seemed unneeded.
Now that I have uninstalled Parallels from the Mac partition and have uninstalled the Parallels programs and tools on the Windows partition, I still have a strange phenomenon that first showed itself when I had first installed the Parallels 5.0 program. Specifically, since the very day that Parallels first was installed and the bootcamp partition was used as the hard drive for Windows run under Parallels, and now even after uninstalling Parallels, the behavior of the Windows flag logo and startup graphics have been changed. A progress bar that previously did not exist before I used Parallels appears on startup, and the moving colored pieces of the Windows flag logo that are supposed to come together as Windows 7 is booted now do not appear during startup.
To my best knowledge, besides uninstalling Parallels programs, I have also removed manually all parts of Parallels that I can find from Windows, and I even excised hidden files and folders of Parallels found on the C drive. I also sought out PRL files from the Windows partition. I uninstalled and physically removed a program called Stardust (?)... Starcolor (?) or something like that, which was installed at the time Parallels was installed. Folders for this had icons of Macintosh programs. Additionally tried to remove all Parallels, PRL, and Stardust items also from the registry, but there are stubborn ones that are in the "pnp Lockdown files", and some others there that also fail to remove elsewhere. The Lockdown files that do not remove are Parallels files involved in booting, and the others are for a PRL 4600 monitor (???). I was able to remove PRL files in the "Driver Store" folder by changing permissions, and then these were able to be removed. I see no settings anywhere for startup logos in msconfig or when I search through programs in the control panel or in the Windows system folder. I have emptied temporary folders, Prefetch, and have used Windows Live Safety Center to remove stray registry files and to fix issues.
Attempts to go back to an old restore point do not work and do not get me back to the Windows 7 installation that i used to have. I reinstalled drivers for Bootcamp from the Snow Leopard disk, and finally I tried to repair the installation (by starting up windows using function keys) with at the same time the Windows 7 RC installation disk available for access of files. The option for repair when started up this way is for repair of a non-starting installation. When this is selected, it seems there is nothing found that needs to be repaired. Thus the startup for Windows still has the same behavior. Maybe I do not know how to repair an installation of Windows, and maybe nothing really needs to be changed back to the former condition. Am I just bothering with something that is just fine but which never will be identical to what it was before Parallels?
The bottom line is that even though things seem to operate fine otherwise, I feel Parallels has somehow adulterated the Windows installation, which I would rather just run as Windows without artifacts from a prior installation that influence it.
Thank you for guiding through whatever I need or need not do with these issues.

  • After deleting Win at partition 3, there is still Windows option at startup

I bought an SSD, and hooked it with my old hdd to my system. There was a Mac and Win partition in my older drive. I erased system files, but couldn't formatted it because it has important info.
Now at startup, i managed to erase second Mac option and second Recovery option, but there is still a second Windows option, which linked to nothing.
My question is, how can i delete that obsolete option at startup? Is there anyway i can manually arrange that screen?

I'm talking about the screen when starting up the computer and pressing alt button. there has to be 3 options, mac, windows and recovery. instead there is 4th setting named windows, if i hit it, black screen and a blinking cursor appears and nothing happens. because i uninstalled that windows, but instead of formatting that partition, i just deleted windows files, because i have important info in that drive.
now, i want to delete that obsolete windows option at startup menu.

  • MacBook pro when windows 7 has startup problem and Mac os doesn't work

I installed windows 7 on my MacBook pro and it did work well. But now windows has a startup problem and "startup repair" couldn't solve it, so I can't use both Mac os and windows and my laptop has become completely useless. Any suggestion?

Reboot and hold down command-R at the sound of the chime, that should take you to the Lion recovery partition, if it does go to disk utility and see if you have an OSX partition at all.

  • This hardware not compatable with Windows XP due to Logo signage

My bother (who resides in another state) just purchased an HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer. He tried to connect it to his computer than has XP Pro as the OS, and gets the following error message:
"this hardware not compatable with Windows XP due to Logo signage"
Anyone run across or heard of this problem?

    Hi,
This explaination may help. The CD which came with the printer may not cover for this situation. My suggestion: go to this site to download XP driver & application then install them on the XP machine.

My iPod touch is alternating between a white screen and the apple startup logo. Is it done for?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • No Windows option in Startup Disk pane

I have Windows XP installed on one MacBook and Windows 7 on another. For both computers, I have no Windows option in Startup Disk pane of System Preferences. I know the work-around, but that is not what I like. I want to be able to choose Windows in the Startup Disk pane. How can I get OS X to accept Windows as a Straup Disk pane option?

I recently came across this too. I remember the Windows partition being an option before, but it went away. I've also got Macfuse and NTFS-3G installed on my system. It would be nice if I could select the Windows drive in the Startup Disc instead of having to hold down Option when booting up.
I've also noticed that sometimes when I'm in Windows 7, the Boot Camp icon isn't there. It was there a couple days ago when I was in Win7, but yesterday it was gone. I've got Macdrive installed on that partition. Wonder if there's a connection?

  • HP Pavilion dv6 7007tx. How to restore HP startup logo with windows 7 professional.

    HI
I bought HP Pavilion dv6 7007tx noteboook two days back and installed Windows 7 Professional.
I've noticed that while booting up, its HP start up logo does not appear, it staright away loads with Windows 7.
How can i restore its original HP logo before Windows 7 starts up.
    Thanks

    Hello
Thanks for your prompt response. I have tried to solve the matter by following the steps given in the first link but i was unable to find BOOT SECTION and also BOOT SECTION DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN. All i could find in the BIOS setup were MAIN, SECURITY, DIAGNOSTIC, SYSTEM, CONFIGURATION & EXIT Menues, therefore the matter is still unsolved. Will i need to reinstall Windows 7 again to fix this?
Secondly, there is another issue with my newly bought machine HP Pavilion dv6 7007tx is that, my sound often will not work particularily for multimedia or videos when i am using it on battery or even if it is booted on battery. It works perfectly (so far) when i am powering it with adaptor. While using on battery, the windows normal sound would work fine but multimedia songs or videos sometimes work and most of the time do not work. i've tried to fix this while gone through all possible options. Even the F11 mute botton does'nt lit indicaing that sound for multimedia will not work now.
Please advise to overcome both the issues.
    Thanks.

  • BootCamp drivers crash Windows 7, slow startup, boot order?, backup drive

I have 3 issues that may be related or possibly not related to each other. I use an iMac (currently with Leopard 10.5.8 on a completely clean installation of both Leopard and Windows 7 on a freshly formatted and partitioned drive).
    Issues:
    1. Before reformatting and installing Leopard and Windows 7, I tried to install Snow Leopard and then Snow Leopard Bootcamp drivers into Windows 7. This crashed Windows 7.
    2. Slow startup of Windows 7 - Drivers needed?
    3. Firewire backup drive never re-mounts after using WIndows and then going back to OS X.
    *Details of issues*:
In the past, before I completely re-installed Leopard 10.5.8 with a new Windows 7, with this same pair of operating systems, I always had a slow startup of Windows 7 on Boot Camp. Sometimes this would take up to 6 minutes to completely open Windows 7. The "Starting Windows" message would appear usually soon, but it would tale a very long time before the Windows logo Flag would appear. The slow startup still continues, even after a complete reinstallation of these on a freshly re-formatted and re-partitioned hard drive (This re-installation was done for reasons shown below).
For a long while I have thought that because I had never installed any BootCamp drivers into Windows 7, then it might start better if I were to install the BootCamp drivers from an installation disk. Thus when I the other day briefly upgraded to Snow Leopard, this time I went ahead while operating under Windows 7 to install into my already existing Windows 7 the set of Boot Camp drivers from the Snow Leopard installation disk. The installation seemed to go well, but it then hung up and never continued when it tried to install the Intel chipset driver. An an hour had passed with no further progress. Thus I force-shutdown the computer, and Windows then never opened until I restarted under safe mode. After that when I would restart Windows 7 "normally", I found also that the Apple wireless keyboard under BootCamp no longer was recognized. The "normal" slow booting of Windows 7 still remained.
Because of I was not sure just what all might have been messed up, and because I am waiting for new versions of several programs that I use to be made as versions compatible with Snow Leopard, I reformatted the complete drive (Both partitions were merged into 1), and then I reinstalled Leopard on a freshly prepared drive, followed by newly installing Windows 7 on a new BootCamp partition. Both systems were fresh installs on a freshly prepared drive and partitions. These were not from clones of the previous installations. This time I did not try to install any drivers from the Leopard disk. The slow booting of Windows 7 continues.
Things I have suspected might cause the slow booting:
    1. Boot order of the Windows partition may be set to look for a CD-ROM before booting from the Windows 7 on the BootCamp Partition. To solve this, I have tried to open the BIOS on startup of Windows 7 in order to set the boot order. I am not sure which function key to press, but in trying several, I have gotten a DOS screen that shows Windows 7 as an option, but nothing else. When I select "Advanced", I get a list that includes "Safe Mode", "Boot Logging", and other items, but not anything for boot order.
    2. The drivers for BootCamp might not yet be made for Windows 7, and I need to wait until these are so that these can be installed. After such, then maybe the slow startup might be fixed?
    3. Possibly my Firewire backup drive interferes (permanently?) with the Windows startup process, because after I use Windows and then go back to OS X, the backup drive (Maxtor OneTouch III firewire drive) will not load on the MacIntosh desktop until I unplug the firewire from both the computer and the Maxtor drive and unplug the power cable to the backup drive, followed by replugging all of this in. (Note: The backup drive is formatted for Macintosh and is never seen as a drive in "My Computer" or in "Network Places" when I operate Windows 7).
Are you able to help/ Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Wilson

    Extra comments;
I also tried the following, which did not fix the startup (*Once up, Windows works well!*):
    1. Checked for file and disk errors (ckdsk?? on startup).
    2. Purged temporary internet and other temporary files (using internet options and disk cleanup utilities)
    3. Cleared out Prefetch files.
    4. Emptied trash.
    5. Under "msconfig", I found 4 items there as startup items. I disabled Adobe Reader and Quicktime helpers, leaving only thus 2 startup items of the 4 enabled (Bulldog and some Microsoft thing).
    6. Defragmented.
    No better results.
    Sincerely,
    Wilson

  • Boot Camp: Windows stuck on startup when external hard drive is attached

    Hi all,
I have Windows XP installed with Boot Camp. All was working fine (even though I installed Service Pack 3 and THEN the Boot Camp update), but today I received an external hard drive I ordered for use with Time Machine. It's a Western Digital My Book (500GB) connected via Firewire 800. This was working fine in Leopard (of course) but when I restart and go into Windows, the startup process freezes at the Windows XP logo (the animation continues though).
I've spend hours scouring the internet and I understand that the external drive is being mistaken for the boot drive, and Windows being WIndows doesn't think to try my internal hard drive after the external clearly has no boot information on it! I don't appear to be able to change the boot order in BIOS as that apparently isn't available.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm just trying to avoid unplugging the hard drive on every restart into Windows.
    Thanks in advance!
    Ed

happens to my firewire 400 drives too (although it didnt used to until SP3 upgrade...). My 2 cents: the fix is not worth it; just unplug it during startup of windows and plug in when it's booted.

  • TS140--no startup logo "thinkserver" after power on

    Hi all:
Due to problems with windows 8.1 installation, I changed BIOS startup settings---I disabled CSM.  Now I don't see anything after I press the power button. I don't understand why changing this value could affect POST and UEFI setup, does CSM only affect how OS is being loaded? Or there could be something else? more importantly, how to get the logo and BIOS setup menu back?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Nivek,
    Thank you for your reply.
I did not use any USB device during the entire process.
I managed to get the splash screen back by following the procedure in the Hardware Maintenance Manual.for replacing motherboard battery.
    Hear is what I found:
After I got it to the presumbly the factory setting. I went into the UEFI setup screen, on the exit menu I enabled the OS optimization (the default is disable), then save and exit. After that I went back in to check, now the CSM is disabled and boot mode is UEFI only. Then I made change on power menu and disabled quick boot, saved and exit ( I think it was F10). After that I installed Windows 8.1. Now I am in another set of trouble, I don't know whether it has anything to do with these UEFI settings. But this is another story.
So does CSM and OS optimization disabled at the same time created a conflict? That's why I don't see the "thinkserver" logo?
I'd like to tell you why I messed around with the UEFI settings in the first place. Initially I installed windows 8.1 without any change in the UEFI. Then I found I could not refresh or reset PC, a message of "a required drive partition is missing" appears to prevent the operation. I searched the Internet for the exact instruction of installing windows 8.1. Unfortunately there are different versions: a) after deleting all partition on the hard drive, click "new", and install in the new patition. However in my case, sometimes I see 2 and sometimes 4 patitions being created after clicking "new".  I hated this variability and uncertanty, so  followed version b): after deleting all partitions, click "next" and install in the unallocated space. I noticed version A give a space size of 931xx...xxx8 and version B give a size of 931xx...xxx9. Apparently they are different.
So partition problems led me to change the UEFI settings.

  • Windows XP stuck at logo screen

I continue to have "problems" with Windows XP Startup on my iMac running Boot Camp.
I restored my XP back to the point when it last booted without any problem. It then booted without any problem. Then when I restart or shut down and boot again, I am stuck at the XP logo screen again, and I have to power off and start again, choosing to use the last good configuration. I have turned on the switch to generate the boot log file, but it does not appear to have logged anything for the sessions when it did not boot up, but only logged information for the sessions when I chose the last good configuration.
So I am at a loss as to the cause of the problem. I suspect it is some interaction between XP, Boot Camp and the iMac, but I just cannot pinpoint where the cause is and fix it. Somehow some of the values for the XP Control Sets are not quite right or settings are not saved properly when Windows XP is shut down.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions from anyone who has similar problems

Has been resolved. See another post on the same topic by myself, acywong.
