My Windows 8.1 computer doesn't recognize my iPod nano 7th generation. Why?
When I connect my iPod to my computer, nothing happens. I've read the tips in the section "support" and I noticed that maybe Windows 8 is not one of the operating systems that are compatible with an iPod nano 7th generation. If I'm right, what can I do if my only device is a Windows 8?

    Hi, Grafiti.
Thank you for the question.  Below, I have attached a couple troubleshooting articles that will help resolve the device not being recognized by iTunes.

    Hi Moclam12,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPod classic is formatted for Windows, and you want to sync it with your Mac, try to force the iPod into Disk Mode and then restore it using your Mac.

  • I tunes doesn't recognise my ipod since i've moved my songs

Here's the problem. I was filling up my hard drive on my laptop so decided to buy an external network hard drive. I cut and pasted the I tunes folder into the new hard drive which took forever. Then I opened itunes and found that I had no music, so I changed the folder that it looks in to the new external hard drive. Still no music, so I decided just to add the whole folder back to itunes which has worked to a degree.
My next and main problem is that when I plugged my I pod into the laptop it says that it's registered to another computer and that I can't access the songs which is very annoying because it clearly is the same computer that I have been using. Its almost as though it's a new itunes that doesn't recognise the ipod, would this happen because i've moved the data? Any one know what's going on??
Any help would be amazing so I can stop banging my head against the wall.

That message is misleading. What it really means is your iPod was synced to another *itunes library ITL database file*.
Did you cut and paste the whole itunes folder, or just the _itunes music_ sub-folder?
If you copied the whole itunes folder, try this - press *and hold* the shift key while starting itunes. Find the ITL file on your exHD and use that.

  • Since i installed windows 7 itunes doesn't recognise my ipod touch anymore. windows shows it as a digital camera

I just installed windows 7 because my computer was infected by a virus. Before i had windows vista. Now when i try to connect my ipod with the latest version of itunes, itunes doesn't recognise it anymore.
Windows recognises the ipod touch only as a digitalcamera.
I already shut down my firewall for every apple software product i had on my pc. And i updated itunes already.

  • TS1363 I have itunes in windows 8 but it does not recognise my ipod. Any tips on getting it to work and be able to Sync?

I have itunes installed on my computer, I have a new laptop with windows 8. It does not seem to recognise my ipod and therefore I cannot sync it. Any ideas on how to rectify this?

Error -69 suggests a possible problem with the source files on your computer. Check the source disk for errors and backup if you don't already do so. See HT1210: iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod for more details.
The SyncToy backup program is also a good way to identify exactly which files cannot be read. Repeated runs may succed in copying files which won't copy over on the first attempt.
    See also Corrupt iPod classic.
It may also help to disable any AV software while syncing or set exclusions on the media folder and the iPod's drive.

  • TS1538 My Ipod is showing the iTUNES Logo and freezing and when i try to connect to iTunes to restore, iTunes doesn't recognised my Ipod. Help Please.

I was casually charging my Ipod when suddnely the iTunes logo appears, so i connected it to my laptop and itunes wouldn't recognised my ipod. I tried puting it in recovery mode various times but it just doesn't work. Please notify me if you have a resolution.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Latest Windows 8.1 update doesn't let me login, "Please wait..." is constantly there

Last night (April 20, 2015), I performed a Windows update on my HP Enxy x360 2-in-1, model # 15-u010dx.  After performing the update, the computer restarted.  After restarting, my wallpaper came up (not my Desktop wallpaper, but the one that you see previous to logging in) and when I dragged the wallpaper up it was a black screen that said "Please wait...".  I left it like that for a pretty long time, probably about 20 minutes, before I first restarted it.  Then I left on a few other times before restarting each time... maybe a total of about 3-4 restarts last night.
No matter what screen I'm on, the wall paper or "please wait", there is no response to CTRL+ALT+DEL or to Shift+F8 as I've read in other forms; there's no response to any key strokes I've tried.  One thing to note is that on the wallpaper screen, at the bottm left corner it shows my battery power and it also shows the internet as not connected - it doesn't seem to detect a network.  After the last Windows update, I've had to manually disable/enable my wireless card every time I opened up my laptop - it's somethign i've looked up on other forums and there doesn't seem to be any type of resolution for it.  But that's not the problem... the main problem is being stuck on the "please wait" screen.  Anyone have any tips or solutions???

    Hi @BKDaveHP ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP ENVY x360 - 15-u010dx Notebook and getting one moment screen or please wait screen on startup. Try performing a hard reset. This document includes helpful information on how to.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks.

  • Nokia Software Updater doesn't recognise phone

I've just downloaded the Software Updater 1.4.3de and tried but it always complains "Connected phone was not recognised". Nokia PC Suit 6.68.9.0 recognises my E65 correctly. "*#0000#" on th phone shows "2.0633.65.01, 03-10-07, RM-208, Nokia E65". What's wrong?

Guess that makes sense re the IMEI number and also it doesn't have the white Nokia label which usually has the Made in Finland sign......it has a large green label that says BA1
Oh I'll have no problem getting a refund.......I know where he lives and I'm sure Trading Standards will be interested in him  as he also sells Tag watches......for £50

  • Windows 7 64 bit doesn't recognise my ipad, iphone because the apple mobile device driver is not digitally signed

Why is it when the internet is flooded with the same problem as mine that Apple are not doing something to fix this?
on the apple troubleshooting site the troubleshooting steps don't even refer to the latest version of itunes but to the previous version where the devices are listed in the left hand column! what's that all about?
Anyway I can pay microsoft 75 dollars to sort this for me or I can try to sort it myself. Apple doesn't seem to be at all interested in helping their CUSTOMERS  with this problem, I can only presume it's because these CUSTOMERS are using a microsoft product.
Come on Apple! get your **** in order and provide proper customer support even for those of us who still want to use windows OS computers.

I'm having a similar problem - my computer tells me that "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it". I'm also using Windows 7 64bit.

  • Software update doesn't recognise internet

Since my computer last updated (some time in July), software update has stopped working.
For example, itunes is repeatedly informing me of a new update, but then software update, after trying to check for new software comes up with an error message stating there appears to be no internet connection and directing me to network diagnostics which says everything is fine, at which point software update quits.
This error occurs on both home and work internet connections (regardless therefore of proxy settings) and everything worked fine until July.
Is it possible to get an older version of software update back somehow using time machine? Or do I have to redownload via the mac website the latest version of Snow Leopard to try and fix this.
I am the only user on this computer and am administrator.

It is not my ISP-it does not work on both a university network, a cable service provider and a normal home internet connection-i.e. in every possible type of network I connect to. I have not changed my internet configuration or anything-it simply stopped working after my last major OS update (must have been quite large as it took about 20 minutes for my old computer to install it on restart).
    Pinging swcdn works fine.
Pinging swquery and swscan does not work. I guess this must be the problem.
I can download files from the apple website fine. Its just a bit annoying to have to remember to go to the website.

  • Safari won't work and Software Update doesn't recognise internet connection

I'm using Safari Version 4.0.3 (4531.9) and it won't browse to any website. I initially thought it was a problem with Airport so I unplugged and restarted my Airport device but Safari still wouldn't work. Then I noticed that I was still getting email and when I tried Firefox it worked fine. So I thought perhaps I needed a software update for Safari but when I tried to run Software Update it said it couldn't connect to the server and to check my internet connection. I clicked on the Network Diagnostics link which came back saying that my internet connection was fine. I then Googled a bit using Firefox and saw some posts which suggested move the .plist files out of the Library/Preferences folder. I've moved the com.apple.Safari.plist and com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist for all users. But it still hasn't helped. What should I try now?

Hello Michael, and a warm welcome to the forums!

Great clue FF uses different DNS & Proxies than Safari that uses Sys Prefs...
Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers for the Interface you're using...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Then Apply. These are safer/faster than most ISP's DNS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.
    https://www.opendns.com/homenetwork/start/device/apple-osx-tiger
Open System Preferences>Network>Configure>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.
