Windows 8.1 Will Not Load

Hello,
I've been using Windows Vista on my older laptop for about 7 years now and recently switched to 8.1 with my newer laptop described here. (it came with 8 installed)
A few days I ago I tried to boot up in SAFE MODE and also I clicked "'networking" (or something similar) listed below "Safe Mode"
So when I restarted all I now get is a blank green screen with 3 little actions at the bottom and a movable cursor.
On the left is a customize thingy that can turn on the voice and make the print larger etc and on the right is the info of ENG US and the shut-off Icon.
I don't know if what I'm seeing is the Blue or Black Screen Of Death as I customized my PC earlier this year to make my log in screen this color of green or maybe it's something completely different.
Anyways, I've tried everything to fix this windows problem
System Restore and Recovery did nothing.
The one that sets the PC back to it's original state and erases everything said "Unable To Reset Your PC...A required Drive Partition is Missing"
This MIGHT be explained as I've been Googling on how to save my files so I booted up with Ubuntu and transfered them to an external drive...did I transfer something I shouldn't have?
I'm pretty sure I just "copied" though.
So how do I get my newer laptop back up and running?
Do I contact Windows?
If I do...I understand I need my registration key which is suppose to be on the bottom of the laptop...it isn't.

Lenovo g550 windows xp drivers will not load

Help! I purchased a Lenovo G550 yesterday and am in need of assistance. Unfortuantely it doesn't appear that there is any way to contact Lenovo, the website doesn't show any method of even emailing them without an IBM service tag (which unless you are corporate user you can't get).
I purchased a lenovo g550 yesterday configuration is 3gb ram 160Gb HDD. Upon booting the system I discovered that in fact users only get access to about 100Gb of the harddrive the rest is set up under multiple hidden drives. I the system came with windows 7 home edition. I need windows xp. So through several hours of work I was able to create some unallocated space on the harddrive. I loaded my copy of windows xp professional to this space and since windows automatically selects the drive name it is drive D:
I went to the lenovo website prior to loading xp and manually downloaded every driver from the site (very time consuming, I saw another way via a forum but was not able to locate it on the lenovo website). Immendiately after loading xp and rebooting I loaded the intel chipset driver. Then rebooted. No other drivers will load for any of the other pieces of hardware. All of THEM, everyone crashes with an error message that there is not enough disk space on c: to load. I would guess that there isn't since c: is a 200mb hidden drive created by Lenovo.
Does anyone have a work around for this problem with the lenovo drivers? This has turned into a multi-hour project for something very simple - putting an alternative operating system on the computer. I cannot put xp as the c: drive because of the lenovo hidden partition is named c:. I don't want to delete windows 7, as I expect to move to it in the next year but right now I several thousand dollars worth of software in xp and need to use that software.
I sure would appreciate any assistance :-) Again the issue is the lenovo windows xp drivers, everyone of them excluding the intel chipset driver will not load under windows xp when windows xp is loaded onto the d: partition. they all say they want to load onto the c: parition which is not an option.

Well if you do not want win7 all together, then just delete all the partitions and install your XP. Airport utilities does not recognise windows 7 and will not load, how do I fix this?

Airport utiltiy will not load, it does not recognise windows 7 and I get an effor message telling me that it requires XP or vista etc.
I have deleted and reloaded Airport Utilities, Bonjour and Itunes to no effect. Help!

After this i was able to go to a site with the title "Java Downloads for All Operating Systems" and here you download your JRE for your OS. For XP or Win 7 it was a java 6 update 29-b11. The file to install is named '''jxpiinstall.exe'''. After install an restart you go again to [http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml testvm.xml] and see that the java plugin works fine.... In Firefox 18.0.1 on Windows XP, pages will not load until I hit reload

In Firefox 18.0.1 on Windows XP, many pages will not load initially. They will sit, blank, with the little spinning circle. If I hit reload, they immediately load. I have verified that all plugins are up to date (AdBlock Plus and Web Of Trust) and that I have the latest version of Java. I also have added Firefox as an exception to Windows Firewall, and verified that no proxies are set.

Help with 10.5 please, running windows 7, store will not load

I have searched here and seen others having this issue also but I see no fix that has worked for me.
Installed 10.5 because I am getting an Iphone 4. Itunes opens but the store will not load. Starts to loads and then just sits. I did the command prompt DNS flush fix, shut down and it did not work.
Any suggestions for me? Running Norton for antivirus. I have not seen anybody on here saying that is a problem. We have another computer running windows 7 and Norton and 10.5 is fine on that computer.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

After I updated Windows my Firefox will not load completley, the page is nothing but boxes.

I updated windows 2 days ago and since then all of the pages I try to go to will not load up properly. Everything on the page is boxed off. I am using Windows Vista and have 4.01 Firefox. I already looked at my add-ons and removed or disabled the things that said they were not compatible.

Did you remove the Firefox program folder before reinstalling Firefox?
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.

Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows Vista Ultimate will not load/update

Costing me hours of my billable time, ADOBE strikes again. i have uninstalled, updated(9.4.2 - which says Acrobat is not on my computer, though it is), i cannot get Acrobat to work. it gives me the error that i need to open Photoshop because it is part of a suite. photoshop, illustrator all have been opened but A9 will still not load.
any thoughts.

The subscription I bought allows me to go online and use Acrobat XI Pro without having it installed on my machine. It works okay, but I'd rather have the software installed on my desktop.
I guess I didn't read the product information closely enough. I can use the online service no problem with my Vista machine, but I can't download the software onto it so that I can use the program on my desktop.
I did successfully download the software to a Windows 7 notebook on the same network. It downloaded without a hitch and it works fine.
The subscription allows me two downloads - one to a desktop and one to a portable machine. I suppose I'll have to upgrade my desktop to Windows 7 or 8.

My Windows XP disc will not load in bootcamp (although it works in virtual box). Any ideas?

Windows XP was not booting up at all so I removed the partition and attempted to reinstall it. However it will not even load. The software on the mac partition is all up to date and I have run verify disk, repair disk permissions etc. What options do I have?

What model and year is your computer? Newer computers do not support XP or Vista.

Windows 7 32bit - will not load on warm boot.

I have the same problem on two PCs. They are both HP Workstations xw4600. I have the latest BIOS (786F3 1.22 A) and have tried with the older BIOS as well before upgrading. They will not start Windows 7 with a warm boot (restart). They just repeatedly restart over and over again. I have to turn off the computer and cold start in order to log into Windows, which after doing so Windows works just fine.
UPDATE:
I solved this issue by fixing the startup with the Windows 7 disk (took a couple of tries)) now it works normally.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Hi there, Well, i thing i might have had the same problem (if you dont mean the selecting part, then try keyboad with usb and without if u dont have a macbook pro or so), i did the same and after selecting windows it said "No bootable disk" or " no boot disk" or something like that and the installer wont start when i was trying to install via CD/DVD.
The sulution is to use 2 usb-drives, one for the support drivers from apple and one for the windows it self after burning the CD/DVD to the usb on a PC using the windows own tools and creating a ISO file.
(there might be problems whit CD/DVD install sometimes)
The ISO file on a own USB is the most importat thing!! (and even apple and windows didnt know that but me and a technikal support guy from the store i bought it managed to fix it after like 4 days )

I went into the properties for the 2010 application and updated the Visual Studio version number to version 12 for the path to the referenced Power Pack components.
The software apparently found the references as I no longer get errors for these references.

I receive the error: "Could not locate the assembly 'FSharp.PowerPack, Version =1.9.9.9, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=a19089b1c74d0809'". My investigations indicate that the latest FSharp.PowerPack version is 2.0.0.0.
One suggestion is to go into the registry and change the "version 2.0.0.0" to "version 1.9.9.9".
My remaining question: Is changing the registry version number the best way to address this problem? As a novice, it makes me nervous to mess with the registry so I would prefer another approach.

Windows .iso 7 will not load Boot Camp. The disk is not recognized by Boot Camp.

Boot Camp also does not reconize XP on disk but, guess that the new version of Maverick does not support it. If anyone knows otherwise please post.

i,m having a real problem getting anything to load. just wondering if i,m the only one who,s getting this problem? & could do with someone,s help please.
to start with windows messenger live will not load at all. the message i,m getting is

Ok I can tell you the solution to your problem.
Windows Live MSN and SKYPE are free with 3 UK, which means that you can use them even if you are not paying for internet on your phone.
The problem with this is that you can ONLY use them via 3 network.
When you are at home your phone is probably defaulting to WIFI and the MSN and SKYPE will try than, so instead of getting a message "ERROR YOur should use 3" the MSN jsut hangs and does nothing. With the old firmware you had to uninstall Windows MSN and install it again in order ofr the MSN to work again. With the new one, once you are out of scope of your WIFI it works.
So you have a few options to use a Messenger.
1. Do not use your WIFI (turn it off, or whatever) and then you can use Windows LIVE MSN
or
2. Because you probably like me are paying the £5 for internet, forget about Windows MSN and use a different that works with WIFI and 3. A few of them are "PALRINGO", "EBUDDY", "FRING", etc.
Is a pain but that's the reason, for some reason the phone can not handle having some apps like the browser, etc using the WIFI and a separate connexion with 3 for SKYPE and Windows LIVE MSN.
