Windows 8.1 - Windows Store - Error Code: 0x80073cf9

Hi All,
After a quick Google search, it appears that I am not the only person who seems to be having issues with the Windows Store. Whenever I try to download certain games or apps, I receive the following error message:
"Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code: 0x80073cf9"
I have tried all of "quick fixes" such as recreating the "AUInstallAgent" and "AppReadiness" folders in C:/Windows, along with running the SFC/ scannow through Command Prompts, but neither of these fixed the issue. If anyone
could please help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
**NOTE: This error only appears when certain applications are downloaded specifically "Asphalt 8: Airborne".

I get the impression there's been an issue with the app store marketplace all day. Seen reports from friends via Twitter complaining about it, saying it's been down for over 10 hours.

  • Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243)

Unable to install windows 7 home premium updates error code 643 (KB 954430, KB973688 & KB2538243) - Please help me!!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537  HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.
If you need more details, please tell me & Thanks in advance

  • Wont open to windows..diagnostic gives many error codes

Won't open to windows, did diagnostic   hard disc error codes follow....u4wc59-62w7as-mfkt01-60qlo3  hard disc failure.  Does this mean hard drive is shot?  Or needs new software program?    Thanks!

The hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If not a retail laptop SATA hard drive can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal capacity as the original in order to use Recovery Discs. It can be larger, but not smaller capacity. For instance if you have a 500GB hdd you could use a 750GB hdd but not a 320GB hdd.

Your request for info got me thinking about another oddity I've been working on this week - My firewall (NetGear SRX5308) shows dropped incoming packets from ip 65.55.121.94 with source port 443 and destination port 55338.  ARIN shows the ip belongs
to MICROSOFT-1BLK, aka Microsoft.  Is it possible that my firewall is blocking communication to MS's licensing servers?

    Hi CJS23
I edited your post to remove the product key information. Posting even partial product keys is not allowed on these forums.
The error code  0xC004E003 simply means that the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed.
Here is what you need to do.
    1. Press the WINKEY+R to bring up the Run dialog box.
    2. Type  SLUI 4  in the box and press OK. This will start the Telephone Activation Wizard.
    3. Select your country in the drop down menu and click the Next Button. Follow the instructions on the screen.
If the telephone activation fails, stay on the line and an Activation Representative will answer and avtivate the system for you.
    Hope this helps.
Thank You for testing Windows 7

    Hello guys,
so i changed my AppStore profile directory from C:/Programm Files/WindowsApps to D:/Programm Files/WindowsApps with the regestery.
Now i get this error code: 0xd00000bb whenever i tried to install any app.
Does anyone know where i can find the error codes and what they stand for? Or maybe how to fix this problem?
    Thank you guys
ps: No i can't change it back to the C drive cause i got a small SSD on this drive...

How did you change the location of windows apps? I think this issue might be related with some registry entries in your system, by default, windows has a "PackageRoot" string for entry "Appx" in registry, the default valudata is "C:\Program
    Files\WindowsApps".

  • App could not be installed from Windows Store, Error code:0x80240031

i have tried many times but same error exits only with this app (Perfect 365), rest all apps are being installed easily and  are working.
how can i install this app(Perfect 365) and what does this error code mean.

I to am getting this error trying to update from Win 8 x64 Pro Upgrade edition to Win 8.1. Only using Windows defender and Windows Firewall. A couple things to note:
    1. My connection to the Internet on this machine is through my phone only, currently have no other means of reaching the Internet, so could this possibly be ISP related? Does the "Windows Store" use some other port rather than 80 or 8080? What ports
does it use? No documentation on this...
    2. I ran a system refresh, same exact results. Using "sfc /scannow" finds no errors. I'm close to backing up and FFR-ing at this point.
    3. Updates through good old "Windows Update" from control panel install just fine. System (including drivers) are all up-to-date.
    4. Other app updates (for "Sports" "Music" and "Video" apps) will not install from the store either. These fail with 0x80072f8 though.
    5. Tried "wsreset" and got the same results. I'm admin on the machine and account is tied to my MS Live account.
I'm at a loss here. Ideas?

OK, I have downloaded Windows 10 Upgrade and it all goes well until the computer restarts. Once it boots up again, the upgrade does not continue and I just go back to Windows 8.1. I then see error code # 80004005 for the upgrade in the Windows Update history.  I do not know what is going on. I read on HP's Notebook upgrade page I found the following:For computers with available storage of 128 GB or less, the upgrade might require you to provide a USB hard drive (32 GB or larger). HP does not recommend using an SD card.If your computer has less than 128 GB of free hard drive space you will be prompted to connect a USB hard drive to continue with the installation. Use a blank USB hard drive 32 GB or larger. When the installation is complete, Windows 10 Upgrade will copy the windows.old file to the USB hard drive. Keep this file on the USB hard drive. It will be required to Go Back to the previous operating system if necessary. My computer definately fits in that criteria since it is equiped with a 128GB SSD. When I start the upgrade, I do not get prompted for an external hard drive.  I have also tried the Media Creation Tool and ISO/USB and get the "Windows 10 Installation has Failed" error.
