Where do you get that impression from? All current versions of Adobe products are compatible with Windows 8.
Windows 8 is listed in the Tech Specs

  • Windows 8.1 not compatible with Scanner of HP LaseJet M1120 MFP

I replaced my laptop and on the new laptop Windows 8.1 is installed.
I have the CD to install te software for HP LaseJet M1120 MFP, but it is not compatible with W8.1.
Then, I switched-on the multifunction printer and I plugged the cable into the USB port of the laptop.
The laptop recognized the printer and installed it, but it didn't recognize the scanner.
I tryed to perform the download of the necessary software directly on the HP site, I also installed HO doctor software, but I was not able to solve the issue.
Can you please help me to solve the issue?
Thanks a lot for your support.

  • Windows 8 64bit not compatible w/ AMD Athlon 64 processor and/or ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard.

Why should I have to go through a plethora of troubleshooting techniques, then have to settle for using the Windows 8/ 32bit install CD, when I have a 64bit system?  I think it's probably something in the Windows
8 /64bit code that causes it to fail install w/ AMD Athlon 64bit processor, and/or my ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard.  After a lot of hassle I tried the Windows 8 /32bit CD and that seems to work fine.  My real question is, why should I have to settle
    for 32bit on a 64bit system?

I had the same experience trying to install Window 8 Pro 64bit (Build 9200) on an old XP SP3 32bit system, but I somehow got it working; the full story.
I had two XP Sp3 32 bit systems I wanted to upgrade to Window 8 Pro 64 bit (with the $40 upgrade deal available now). System#1 is: I7 920/Asus P6T deluxe/EVGA 560Ti/3GB/1 TB SATA 300 drive/1.44 Floppy/ 12X Bluray burner (pulled the old TV tuner card for
upgrade-incompatible). I ran the Windows 8 upgrade advisor - very few issues (TV Tuner card as mentioned and other software) - bought the upgrade. Downloaded the upgrade from my Win7Pro 64bit system to obtain the 64bit ISO (2.69GB) - burned to DVD. Installed
from DVD; no problems, finished in under 20 minutes - working great (really fast boot!).
System#2 is: Opteron 180/Asus A8N-E/EVGA 275GTX/2GB/1 TB SATA 300 drive/ 1.44 Floppy/ 16X DVD RW burner; the Windows 8 upgrade advisor - more incompatible software than system#1, but no incompatible hardware. I had read a number of blogs concerning the issues
others were having with the upgrade failing, so before I purchased, I thought I would run the 64bit install DVD I had (known to work on the other system) to see if it worked. I should note this system was not-in-use and thus I was not worried if the install
failed (I'd just be annoyed!). Ran the install from the DVD; initial splash screen - no spinning dots - waited 15 minutes (by which time no activity on DVD or hard drive) - failure. Rebooted - entered bios (1010) - tried many combinations of settings up to
disabling nearly everything (NVRAID, Legacy USB, Floppy, Audio97- all disabled / moved SATA into every slot (1-4) / tried SATA 150 and SATA 300 (SATA2, slots 3-4) - no change - failure X4 attempts. Now original XP3 installation is corrupted (GRRRR!) - I should
have imaged the drive BEFORE - oh well. Read more about others experience with this seemingly NForce board-related issue. Plan B - I will try install with an IDE (PATA) hard drive (80GB) - failure. Read more - some mention Window 8 installer not "liking" XP
    partitions / disks (???); Plan C - Re-partition / format / check 80 GB IDE drive with WDTools - attempted Win8Pro install - failure. Dejected; last attempt before considering Win8Pro 32bit - Plan D - Re-partition / format / check 1 TB SATA 300 drive with SeaTools
(Barracuda 32GB buffer-7200rpm) - run Win8PRO 64bit install from DVD (build 9200) - success! Install took nearly an hour, with 3 reboots to the finish. Specifics (install configuration): 1 TB SATA drive in Slot 4 (SATA2), upgraded memory to 4GB Corsair PC3200
(4 slots filled), Two DVD drives on Primary IDE channel (master and slave), secondary IDE channel - no devices, bios (1010) - NVRAID, Audio97,1394 port,LAN -disabled; USB 2.0, USB Legacy, Floppy - enabled, IDE-Auto), TrendNet USB wireless adapter on USB slot
2 (motherboard), EVGA 275GTX in PCIe slot 1, no other cards. System seems to be performing well (fast boot times, no hangs), but as noted, no sound (I actually forgot to re-enable the Audio97 device in bios; it was 2am). I will see if I can get the Audio97
enabled today; my backup is to add a Turtle Beach Montego DDL PCI card (with the Windows7 64bit driver and run in compatiblity mode). Hope this saga might help some others out - good luck.

  • Windows vista is not compatible with itunes64bit install

I have downloaded the itunes 64bit setup and it does not work with my windows vista pc. I just bought a new pc and haveing compatibility problems with the vista and itunes and quicktime. does anyone know how to fix this?

    http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k38/Zantardaman/ItunesError.jpg
This 'should' be a link to a picture that is being talked about. It's happening on my copy of 64 bit vista as well, using the most up to date installer for 8.1.1 itunes. Incase this link doesn't workin on these forums (my 1st post) here is what it says word for word.
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.
Since I'm pretty sure Vista doesn't default to safe mode EVERY time you log in, I'd say my problem is of the later type. Any assistance would be nice, but if nobody replys shortly I do plan on calling support and bugging them for as many hours as it may take to get the problem fixed.
Edit: I just realized that we are both running gateways. Though he/she said gateway said it was an apple problem. Anyways, just thought I'd throw that note out there.

  • Abode XI and Windows 8.1 not compatible

Every time I work with a PDF in Adobe XI (11.0.03) with Windows 8.1 I get a "not responding" message and the screen freezes.  I have already disabled protected mode as advised in the forum, but that didn't work.  Any fixes?

if you have NVIDIA driver, please try upgrading it via below link

    Else try this
    1. Go to Reader folder
    2. Double click on Eula.exe
    3. Accept license agreement
    4. Then launch Reader

  • Please review windows 8 is not compatible with 7gen nano it causes a WDF violation.

I have 7th gen ipod nano,  i am running windows 8 and when I connect the ipod  and launch itunes, a blue screen pops up and says WDF violation and then my computer reboot
is there solution to resolve this and how?
If Apple actually reivews this they should know that i am not the only one having this problem!!!!!!!!  check the Microsoft Formum
this only happens with latest ipod's, Iphone 4s connects and works just fine.

I found the solution!!!  Even ended up educating the tech -- who didn't have a clue.
I have a brand new  7th gen iPod Nano, a brand new Windows 8 laptop, and iTunes 11. Everything was working all fine and dandy until I unchecked "Enable Disc Usage in iTunes on my iPod.  Then all **** broke loose.  I got the blue screen of death with the WDF_violation and I couldn't even plug my Nano in without it crashing my computer, let alone access iTunes to re-enable Disc Usage. Because the crashes happened immediately after I did that I just KNEW it had something to do with that.  Trouble is, I couldn't fix it.... or so I thought.
I was on the phone with the tech, who was telling me it was a driver issue ( impossible because both the laptop and iPod are brand new) and I was looking around in iTunes while she did.
HERE IS YOUR SOLUTION:  Edit --> Preferences --> Devices.  Check Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically.  Then plug in your iPod, re-enable the Disc Usage, and voile!!!!!!  Problem solved.

  • Adobe Acrobat 5 not compatible with Windows 8

When I try to open up files saved in Adobe Acrobat 5 my new computer with Windows 8 gives me a message that they are not compatible with Windows 8. What do I need to do to be able to open these files on my new computerwth Windows 8?

Did you install reader or such on Win8? AA5 is not even compatible with Win7, though it can be made to work with work arounds for the 32-bit version. I suspect you also have a 64-bit system, which I think is totally incompatibile with AA5. Download the Reader XI and try to open the PDFs with that. I suspect they will open fine.
If you want to create PDFs, you will need to purchase AA XI.

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 not compatible with windows 7

    Hello,
Some years ago I bought Adobe Acrobat 6.0 which I placed on my old computer. Now I have a new computer with windows 7 and the acrobat 6.0 version apears not compatible with this windows version. Does anyone know a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best wishes,
    Arjen

If you have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate, you can download Windows XP Mode and attempt to install Adobe Acrobat 6 in the virtual environment. Windows XP Mode uses Windows Virtual PC to run a full Windows XP Professional 32 bit environment virtually, and it is a free download. A limitation you may encounter is that the PDF printer will not be accessible from your Windows 7 programs, only from programs which are installed in the Windows XP Mode environment.
This subject has been discussed on several forums, and while Acrobat version 6 does install and work for some users, the PDF printer does not install on Windows 7. Version 9 was the first version which was compatible with Windows 7, so if this is critical to you, you should consider upgrading to the latest version of Acrobat.

I've downloaded Adobe acrobat standard Dc only to find out it's not compatible w/windows XP.  How do I get a different version?

    Hi vincelucy,
If you've purchased a previous version, you can download older installers from this page: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X (you'll need your serial number to complete the installation).

  • Adobe Type 1 Font is not compatible with Windows 8 64bit?

I found that Adobe Type 1 fonts are not compatible with applications that run on Windows 8 64bit. When used, the appearance of fonts on the screen is not correct. Even worse, the font does not appear at all in the CorelDRAW X6. Strangely, when printed, the fonts were no problems. How can I make these fonts can be used in Windows 8 64bit? For additional information, these fonts appear normally when reviewed through the Windows Fonts folder, but does not display correctly when used in the application.

I believe I have a similar issue. I do have the latest Windows updates.
I'm on a new Win8 system, and I installed my Adobe type collection (bought years ago with ATM) by copying the .pfm and .pfb files to Windows\Fonts (there's no right-click > install for fonts on Win8 it seems; copying the font files to the font directory is what I've read as the install procedure.)
Windows then shows an error about .pfb incompatibility, so I selected "skip" for those files.
The result is that my fonts are installed and usable BUT this really screws up IE10 for certain websites. For example, I get blank pages for sites like wordpress.org and validator.w3.org. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix this other than doing a system restore to a point before the fonts were installed. Removing the font files from the Windows\Font directory doesn't help. I don't use IE10 with any regularity but I need it to work for testing purposes.
Is there a way to install these fonts? Is there a way to uninstall them (other than a system restore) if they affect IE10?
It's really hard to install on a one-by-one basis as need arises because I can't tell what the font names are from the file names. There's no application, like a type viewer, that will show me the fonts if I double click the file. (I just ran into this now... I need to use a Garamond type face but have no idea which one it is by looking at the .pfm and .pfb files.)
I would consider buying Font Folio if this is the answer but it's only available for a minimum of 5 licenses? I'm a freelancer and only need one licence.
Should I just use an online tool to convert my .pfm/.pfb files to an OpenType or similar format?
    Thank you in advance!

  • Adobe acrobat 5 is not compatible with windows 7.  Need replacement that will work.

adobe acrobat 5 is not compatible with windows 7.  need a replacement that will work.  any suggestions.

I would recommend Acrobat 10.  You can find more details as well as a trial at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html?promoid=JOLIR.  It should be noted though that Acrobat 5 is too old of a version to qualify for the upgrade price I am sorry.

  • Not compatible with version of windows?

I have windows 7 service pack 1 64bit Operating system on my HP laptop and when i try and open Acrobatpro_11_web_wwmui.exe I am being told "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
If the trial wont even open does this mean it wont work if I buy the full program?
    Thanks in advance
ETA: I used the adobe download assistant to download the trial but once it has "finished" downloading the file in the graphic id doesnt run the program or do anything,

    Hi Daveyj09,
Might check the properties of Acrobatpro_11_web_wwmui.exe just to ensure nothing for compatibility mode is turned on.
Normally after the Download Assistant it goes right into the installation. Does right click Run as Admin make any difference?
