Windows 8 and Beats audio (fn+b not working)

Hi guys,
I bought a HP DM4-3114TX which came with Windows 7 on it, I upgraded this to Windows 8 Pro without keeping any settings/files (so like a fresh install).
I have been to the driver download page of the HP website and downloaded all the drivers/programmes for Windows 8, but my fn+b button doesn't work to turn on and off beats audio.
I have looked on the forums and tried a few things to get it to work but nothing has fixed it yet. I was hoping I could get some help on this please?

You might want to make sure the Fn + Function Keys Aren't disabled in the BIOS.

H8-1287 Beats Audio controls do not work in Windows 8.1

I've upgraded to Windows 8.1 and installed the IDT High-Definition audio driver from HP's website. The surround sounds seems to be working but the controls do not work to modify the EQ etc. I've seen the problem has been resolved for Envy laptops but all the links for the software appear to only be for the notebooks and not compatible with my desktop system. I've downloaded the available software (IDT High-Definition Audio driver) found under my HPE HI-1287 product from HP's support site but the Beats audio control panel doesn't seem to make any sound quality changes. Hopefully there is a driver somewhere compatible with my desktop system that allows controling the audio properly. Thanks.

I understand that the Beats Audio Console is not adjusting the audio settings on your HP Pavilion HPE h8-1287c Desktop PC running Windows 8.1. According to the HP Pavilion HPE h8-1287c Desktop PC Drivers page there are no Windows 8.1 drivers for your computer. I can only assume that this means your computer is currently using Windows default drivers or Windows 8 drivers and the Beats Audio Console is not able to interact properly with the currently installed driver.
All I can recommend is that you check back periodically to the drivers page I linked above and see if Windows 8.1 drivers have been created. Other than that your only option at this time would be to use the HP Support document: Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) to restore your computer back to Windows 8 where the Beats Audio Console has drivers that are compatible.

"Show my windows and tabs from last time" not working, Mac OS 10.6.4, FF 3.8.10 or FF 4 Beta 6

I have tried any number of times to get this to work, but it's still not working. On my other Mac with OS 10.6.4 and FF 3.6.8/10 the "show my windows and tabs from last time" is working just fine.
I have checked some of the settings in about:config per some of the other forum posts with resolution to this issue, but this hasn't worked for me. Especially Since some settings have changed in the more recent versions of FF.
I'm pretty sure my settings are correct. Is anyone else having this same issue?
On the Mac exhibiting the issue it prompts me if I want to close all open tabs when the red X is clicked, when I quit firefox it keeps my tabs open just fine when firefox starts up the next time. This is normal behavior, but when the feature in question is active it overrides this behavior, on my other mac, and just stores my last session so that when I open firefox all is as it was before it was closed (either closing it via quit or with the red X will do the trick).
On my new mac, the prompt to close open tabs never goes away and my tabs just vanish, whichever way I close firefox.

If you use [[Clear Recent History]] in Firefox 3.5 and later to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox then restoring tabs from the last session ("Save & Quit" or "Show my windows and tabs from last time") doesn't work.

4.1 Beats Audio in dv76163cl not working as advertised

I recently purchased the multimedia dv7 6163cl with beats audio, 4 speakers and 1 subwoofer. From the point I purchased the computer, 3 weeks ago to now, the front two speakers have never worked.
The sound clarity is great as is with the rear speakers and subwoofer working great. However, if it is advertised that the computer comes with 4 speakers and a subwoofer, why on earth is it not working?
I followed up with these queries via Costco and HP and a sufficient fix to the problem has not been found. The audio codec is up to date as is the bios.
The OS is Windows 7 64-bit and there aren't any error messages per se.
Any and all ideas would be appreciated.
After a little digging I found that windows 7 users who had xp before found that they are having issues with their respective external 4.1 or 5.1 surround speaker set ups...could it be a windows 7 issue?

Just tried a "Rolls" headphone amp to the device.
Maybe not the right jack?
I know that the line in can be picky.
Mics are especially a nuisance.
A long time option is to use the iMic, and feed audio in via USB:

Beats Audio "FN B" not working dv7-1245dx W7 64-bit

Straight out of the store, the FN + b is not working. Sound + and - function keys raises and lowers volume and shows Beats Audio logo.
Also, how do I know beats audio is actually enhancing sound? ALL my sound is "tinny".
Have opened Beats Audio control panel. Looks like it is suppossed to be working.

Internal Audio and M Audio Firewire Audiophile Not working.

Hi, as USB sound cards do not seem to work with premioere Pro CS^ (I tried ASIO4ALL) I thought I would try my computers internal one. It is a Realtek internal card. Triad lots of settings in Audio Hardware and Mappingsa but still no joy.
I then borrowed a M Audio Firewire Audiophile break out box, installed the drivers and tested it in Windows, works fine. Went into Premoiere pro and now It has a M Audio Firewire ASIO but still no luck. Even tried ASIO4ALL.
I have even tried Premiere Pro WDM sound;(.
I know Premiere is a video editing package but its suport for sound seems a but lacking to say the same. Before I raise a suport call with Adobe anyone got anty ideas?

PS All these devices have been tested by playing a video with VLC and work fine.

I'd recommend starting with removing all sound devices, internal and external, as well as all drivers. Then install only the latest driver from the manufacturer of the motherboard.

Hi Ken,
Try resetting the bios defaults as follows.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as soon as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Another option worth trying if the above doesn't help is a 'Forced Reset' ( this doesn't affect you data or operating system in any way ) - the method for your particular Model can be found on the following document.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

Audio output and left USB port is not working!

Hi! I have MacBook Air 13" late 2010, Audio output and left USB port is not working!
What happened?

If the left USB port doesnt work with an external mouse its seems to be a hardware malfunction of this USB port.
The newest BIOS is already installed?
Have you removed all USB ports from device manager and restarted your notebook?
If you have already tried this, contact an authorized service provider. The guys can try to fix this issue and it should be covered by warranty, if you still have warranty on this notebook. :)

iPad audio output does not work, except for on Siri. The mute button is not on, and the volume buttons have no effect/ don't work (unless Siri is open). I have reset the iPad, tried iOS7 and iOS8 resets, which didn't help. The audio output mostly works when headphones are out in, but has a tendency to cut out from time to time. Without headphones, Audio might start working again briefly from time to time, but most the time it doesn't. Any ideas on what is wrong with it and how to fix it?
my iPad is a 3rd gen, 16GB wifi only model, if that helps
I did take it to an Apple Store, but the inncorrectly insisted that my speaker was bust and it would cost £250 to replace the whole iPad!

iOS 8 isn't even out yet. If you are running iOS 8, I assume you are a developer and if you are, you are in the wrong forum to try to get help. If you are not a developer and you're running iOS 8, maybe that's why you are having problems on the iPad.

The type that I made bold doesn't make sense. Is this a typo and you mean that " headphones are not in"?

And you know they are incorrect because you get sound here and there from time to time? That fact doesn't prove that something isn't working correctly inside. You could very well have a bad connection inside the device causing this, but somehow you seem to know that's not the case.

Microphone speaker and audio jack is not working?

hi i buy a I phone 5 S in march from E max UAE . Its been 3 month only but my phone audio jackpot is not working ,microphone and speaker is not working moreover if i open some app for longer time and during charging it get hot. I took the phone to the store tell them the problem and the phone is in warranty also but they didn't change the device they say we cant change and just repair the device. its been two days my phone is back again i am facing the same problem .can anybody suggest me where should i go for complain and what i will do to change the device.
