Windows 8 and GoPro converting to DVD
Just purchased a new computer, with windows 8 and I want to convert GoPro movies HD Mp4 and burn them to DVD to watch on TV. My question is what adobie soft ware will handle this task ?

Note the usage of targets, blank will open a new window while self will stay in the same window :)

-billyThere is at least one way on each operating system (windows and mac) to rip your own dvds and then transfer them to itunes and finally put them on your ipod. A mac is the easiest of the two ways. If you have a mac, then you download a program off of the web called handbrake (just "google" >handbrake rip dvds< and its homepage should pop up or try <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://handbrake.m0k.org). Handbrake allows you to copy and convert your dvds to ipod format. On a windows operating system the most effective way i have found to rip my dvds is quicktime pro($25-$35). You can buy it at quicktime's website. It basically does the same thing as handbrake. I, myself, have simply converted some videos, like sports shows and commercials, to ipod format using itunes and both the video and audio worked fine.

Can I convert a DVD video to Quicktime, and edit the frames in .jpg files?
I received a DVD of my wedding. It plays well as a movie on my Windows laptop, running Windows 8.1.
I would like to remove differents frames, as .jpg files, to send people.

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

great, but my MBA did not come with an installion disc, only a tiny jump drive that is not recognized by windows; and I can't get the contents of that burned to a DVD either. So how the heck do I get the drivers into Windows 7? My MBA has bootcamp 3.0.4.

Free DVD and Video Converter for 2nd gen. Ipod Touch?
Is there a free online converter for DVD and video formats not compatible with Itunes. I have a dvd recorder and have transfered some of the movies to my computer and would now like to put them on the Touch. Same issue with video I have collected on the Internet. I would like to find a free program that will transfer these files to my touch! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm installing windows 8 64 from iso dvd-I did the partition wiht BCamp 5.
I did the usb drive with the compatibility software-once installation start from the dvd, it ask me for some disk, usb or dvd drivers to continue.
How I can continue the instalation? How I can provide those driver to the instalation process?

ManuelYou can't get there with GUID/GPT.
There are tips on making a USB flash device that is bootable.
You can set aside a small 6GB partition somewhere and put Windows 7 installer there and run it WHILE IN Windows.
Windows Vista can be upgraded in place to 7 RC.
You'll need NTFS (30-50GB).
Windows doesn't support FW for booting.
You can create a drive that has Master Boot Record. -
I have adobe acrobat pro for windows and it is freezing up when I try to convert a word file to pdf... I have tried to get this done six ways from Sunday but it is just not working... help! Chris.
It would be helpful to know what version of Acrobat, WORD, and operating system.
Without that info, I would suggest at this point to open your WORD file and then go to the print menu and print to file using the Adobe PDF printer. Open the created file in Distiller and see if you get a PDF. If so, check to see if AcroTray is running in the background.
You say you tried many ways. It would help to know what you tried and what worked or did not work, and at what point the failure occurs. -
I had all my old home video's and super 8 movies converted to DVD's. Since I will move back to Europe I asked the company to convert them to PAl system. I just got all the DVD's for a lot of money, but I can not play any of them on my MAC book.(I think that is because they were burned on zone 1 dvd's and my lap top works with zone 2.
I wonder how I can make them work on my macbook..? I intended to start editing those movies so I need to be able to play them on my mac. Is there a way to copy them to zone 2 DVD's and or to zone 0 dvd's and where do I get those free zone or zone 1 recordable dvd's?

The Apple TV 2 will play all the content in your iTunes library that your Apple TV 1 does. It can no longer sync any of it but can stream it all just as the older model did. Airplay is a different feature that lets you stream from an iPad/iPhone, the Apple TV 2 has Airplay the first didn't.
You can still sort and search content by genre, it still marks content watched and unwatched and mainly still lets you organise much as the Apple TV 1 did, with one exception. It doesn't do nested folders, so the ability to tag a movie as a show (ie James Bond) and have all the associated movies in a James bond folder has gone and it lists all these movies individually.
It has a similar situation with TV shows. It will put all TV shows in a series in a folder as the older one did, but the new one lists each series separately whereas the older model would put all the series in one folder.
Not nesting folders is a bit of a pain with large libraries and whilst I don't like it, it's more or less the only compromise I have to make and of course I get additional features too. -

When you export the videos out of iPhoto be sure to select Kind = Original. Otherwise you'll just get an image file of the first frame of the video.

Hi apple users, I am in need of your expertise. I have a mov file and mp4 file which I need converted to DVD. However IDVD quality is terrible and wondering if anyone can help!?
I created project in iMovie then exported it to MP4 and also MOV file at highest definition possible + I added it to iDVD and had a number issues about encoding errors regarding the mp4 file. MOV worked but the quality was terrible.....

On both a MacBook Pro, an Acer laptop and my Mac Tower. I would love to think that it is a problem with the playback system, and that if I merely send the file off to the duplicator they won't have the same problem. Maybe that is the case...I don't know if I have a choice rather than sending it off to see. But it happens in the same spots, in the same way, on all three of the players so I'm a little reluctant to have faith.

For a DVD, one is limited by the total Bit-Rate (both Audio & Video), but with longer prodcutions, some users choose too low a Bit-Rate. Of course, but in the case there is no more 'original project.' It is gone like the wind, stolen along with his computer and backups.
I think I am stuck using one of two files as my master: a DVD he burned where I only see the stutter/vibration/jitter once, or the mpeg2 file where I see it three times. Hopefully, the duplication house can rip if off of one of them and not see the jitter. I know that in audio, my personal filed, you can do a lot to enhance already existing sound--EQ, compression, tape saturation emulation software, etc. I guess I'm hoping there is some kind of analog to the video world that address jitter after a source has been printed--if indeed the source has been printed to be jittery.

I'm a bit confused. Since my original camera format was 720/60p, and I converted the footage to Pro Res422 in order to edit in Final Cut Pro 7, should I convert back to a higher quality format before sending the file to DVD Studio Pro? If so, which Compressor codec is best to use in order to preserve the original 720/60p? How do I maintain the highest quality?
No...ProRes is a high quality format. Finishing format. Many TV networks take that as a final deliverable.
BUT...DVDs aren't high definition...they are SD. You cannot make a 720p60 DVD with DVD Studio Pro. Any DVD you make will be SD...720x480. The only HD DVD format out there is BluRay, and for that you need a BluRay burner.
As for making a high quality DVD...using the BEST QUALITY settings in Compressor will work:

The absolute simplest way to make a DVD using FCP and DVDSP is as follows:
1. Export a QT movie, either a reference file or self contained using current settings.
2. Open DVDSP, select the "graphical" tab and you will see two little monitors, one blue, one green.
3. Select the left blue one and hit delete.
4. Now, select the green one, right click on it and select the top option "first play".
5. Now drag your QT from the browser and drop it on top of the green monitor.
6. Now, for a DVD from an HD source, look to the right side and select the "general tab" in the track editor, and see the Display Mode, and select "16:9 pan-scan."
7. Hit the little black and yellow burn icon at the top of the page and put a a DVD in when prompted. DVDSP will encode and burn your new DVD.
THATS ALL!!!
NOW...if you want a GOOD LOOKING DVD, instead of taking your REF movie into DVD SP, instead take it into Compressor and choose the BEST QUALITY ENCODE (2 pass VBR) that matches your show timing. Then take THAT result into DVD SP and follow the rest of the steps. Except you can choose "16:9 LETTERBOX" instead of PAN & SCAN if you want to see the entire image. -
Is QT DVD Player different on Windows and MAC?
I have both Mac and PC computers. QT 7.1.3 is installed on both. I can view both commercial (Hollywood) and non-commercial mp2 content on the Mac but not the PC. Can anyone tell me what the difference is and why?

There is no such thing as a QT DVD Player. On the Mac there is a QT Player which does not play DVDs and there is a DVD Player which does. You are probably trying to compare the DVD Player on the Mac with the QT Player on the PC here.
