Windows 8 and Possible Windows 7 64-bit Disk? laptop

Well unfortunately i downloaded windows 8 and not knowing that i completely installed itself over my previous OS.(Win7 Home Premium) I lost the disk i got with my laptop so i cant re-install windows 7 and seeing how i thought it was unfair for me to spend another 100euro or so on it i was wondering if i could possibly get another windows 7 disk sent to me. I think it would be best if a staff member of hp itself would reply to my question.

No one working for HP will respond to your request on this forum in an official capacity.
You can purchase a recovery disk for your PC's by reading the info at the link below.

Alternatively, I have a solution that is better than nothing if you don't want to order recovery disks.
Download the ISO file of the version of Windows 7 that is on the Microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC. It must also be the version in the language that your PC original operating system came with.
For example, if your sticker is windows 7 home premium and the language was Danish, select the 32 or 64 bit download of the windows 7 home premium - Danish file.
Burn the file to a DVD using a program that can burn ISO files in order that you can boot from the DVD.
Install Windows 7. Then use the 25 character product key on the microsoft COA sticker on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.
Then go the the HP support and driver page for your notebook and install any drivers you need.

You will have to sync it to the new one, erasing the current content from the ipod and replacing it with the content from the new drive.
Make sure you have copied everything from your backup copy of your computer back to the new drive first.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

MAIN WINDOW :- In a main window you display text and data, which can cover several pages (flow text). As soon as a main window is completely filled with text and data, the system continues displaying the text in the main window of the next page. It automatically triggers the page break.
You can define only have one window in a form as main window.
The main window must have the same width on each page, but can differ in height.
A page without main window must not call itself as next page, since this would trigger an endless loop. In such a case, the system automatically terminates after three pages.
VARIABLE WINDOW :- The contents of variable windows is processed again for each page, on which the window appears. The system outputs only as much text as fits into the window. Text exceeding the window size is truncated; the system does not trigger a page break. Unlike constant windows, the page windows declared as variable windows may have different sizes on different form pages.
As far as the processing of the window contents is concerned, the system currently treats constant and variable windows alike. The only difference is that constant windows have the same size throughout the form.

WEP working with Windows and Macbook Pro - NOT with G4 laptop

In order to get a Windows laptop connected to my home network, I changed over to WEP Encryption and have gotten the Windows laptop, my Macbook Pro, and another Powerbook G4 to connect - however, when I try to connect the other remaining G4 laptop, a 400mhz PowerPC running an Airport card with firmware v.9.52 doesn't give me the pulldown option for WEP (only WPA) and I am, therefore, unable to input the password that is working on my other computers.
Thoughts? Solutions?

Thanks for your response. The articles were informative, but here's what's odd about my situation:
I understand passwords, etc. I've been running WPA/WPA2 encryption on my all-Apple Network. It worked great. When I brought home the WindowsXP laptop, I changed the network over to WEP and not only did the Windows laptop get signal, but 2 of my 3 Macs did as well. When I started up the "upstairs" G4 Powerbook and sought out my network the Airport Internet Connect did not give me a WEP option in the pulldown menu, so I was unable to log in. All I really need to do is determine how to get the older G4 Powerbook to see WEP where it only sees WPA. (Ultimately, I switched back so my wife could use her computer. It may just be easier for me to try to configure the Windows Laptop to a WPA/WPA2 network.

I used to use Go Live and I could create buttons to enable the end user to open and or close a pop up window. Is there a way to do this in iWeb? Or is it possible to make a graphic appear on a page whenever you roll over a hot spot or graphic on that same page?

My iPad won't restore I've connected it to my mac, it goes thru the whole process of restoring and at the last bit my laptop tell me my device is no longer connected n on my iPad the apple sign comes up but the line doesn't load

It sounds like your iPad may not have restored fully. I'd recommend restoring it again with the iPad in recovery mode.

C:\Windows and C:\Windows\System32 folders are empty after Deployment

I hope you won't find me crazy because of this question, but I have the weirdest thing !@#
We deploy Windows 7 x86 SP1 in our organization.
Our image is a WIM file that is deployed with SCCM 2012 OSD and we are "Baremetaling" PCs. nothing is being migrated or saved from the current PCs
we configured the driver packages for 4 different hardware types (All of them Lenovo) and all are pilots were successful.
we just started not long ago to deploy the image in the production.
the problem is:
All of the PCs work just fine after deployment. after a day or 2 , randomly, some of the PCs boot automatically to recover mode and fail on the startup repair action.
When I browsed the local disk I was amazed to see the folder C:\Windows contains only the C:\windows\System32 folder AND BOTH OF THEM ARE EMPTY!!
in this mode I can't even debug logs, event viewer, DaRT.... everything is lost!
it happens so far on 3 of 4 of the different hardware models, so we know it's not hardware related issued or driver.
I know it is very foggy information but I thought maybe someone else has ever ran into this issue and what was the cause
our guess is an update \ software on the base image that causes the damage, though it's a very similar damage for any opinion

How can you check the C disk, we need to know the C: is a System disk not a 100M System Reserved partition in this situation.
I also would like to confirm, if you can run system restore from System Recovery boot prompt. If no, what the error message you get.
In additoin, I would like to suggest you try the following steps to check the issue:
1. Run Check Disk from a Command Line to Check for and fix Disk Errors

2. I suspect it may be related to malware. You may try to make a full scan with an AntiVirus Scanner like Microsoft Security Essentials.

3. Use another system image for a test.
Meanwhile, you can collect smsts.log file and detailed progress of OSD TS to get more details to check which problem you are having.

ACS 3.2 for Windows and MS Windows AD Directory Integration Problem

Dear all,
We have some issues while integrating Windows AD with ACS 3.2 for Windows.Currently we have done the following:
1. Installed ACS 3.2 for Windows on Windows 2003 Enterprise with SP1
2. ACS and Domain Controller are configured on the same server
Checked and verified the following configurations
1. created a domain user "csacs" selected Act as a part of operating system and log on as a service enabled for this user.
2. Enabled all the CS services to log on as a user csacs.
But I noticed CS services are not respdonding and gives the error as "Could not able to start the service with service specific error ..." while trying to start services manually on ACS.
Kindly help me through this integration part
An easy and handy Step wise procedure on configuring integration of AD with ACS 3.2 on both Domain Controller and on Member server will be of great help.

I have no issues running Cisco ACS version 3.2 on Windows
Server 2003 with SP2:
1) create user test1 in MS Active Directory and put test1
in users group with dial-in access granted,
3) Create a group called "LDAP". Actually I renamed
group name "group 1" to "LDAP".
3) in ACS external user database configuration, I specified
domain "CCIE" as for this. unknow user policy is to use
Windows Database configuration,
4) Configure the database configuration in ACS to point
to "CCIE" windows domain,
5) setup the ACS to authenticate one of your Cisco devices
and log in using the MS windows account,
By the way, mgurwara, you are wrong. I run Cisco
ACS 3.2 on windows 2003 Enterprise Edition with Service
Pack 2. I am running it on a Dell Optiplex Gx240
(1.7 GHz with 512MB of RAM) and it is running fine.
I use it to manage about 20 cisco devices and
about 200 Wireless LEAP user(s). Furthermore, I am also
running ACS 4.1 on another identical hardware. It has
nothing to do with the hardware. I don't know where
you get that information from.

How to manage brightness on a 27" mac with windows and a windows keyboard

My problem is that since the imac doesn't have hardware controls of the monitor I don't know how to adjust brightness or swich the monitor or even eject media from the keyboard (but this is not important as I cand do it by soft).
Addicionally to avoid incompatibilities and be able to use smartcards I'm using a windows keyboard.
Is there any way to assign or use monitor controls to my windows kwyboard?

the video card software in my case it's amd
I right click on my desktop and in the context menu choose AMD catalyst control center
and adjust it there
if you have nvidia they have a contol panel like it
if you can tie it to a shortcut on your keyboard depend on what features
amd / nvidia's control panels support in that direction

I want that both window1 and mdi_form_window have the same size.

Popup window saying max os x startup disk has no more space

I recently started having a window pop up that says "Your Mac OS X startup disk has no more space available for application memory." Under that it says "To avoid problems with your computer, quit any applications you are not using. Closing windows and removing files from your startup disk will also help." I did have several applications open that weren't being used, so I quit those and closed several windows, and the window stopped popping up. Now it startedup again and I can't get it to stop. What can I do to fix this issue? Thanks

I'm also having this issue. I've just deleted what seemed to be an enormous amount of old pictures, files, videos, etc. The popup is still occuring. Exactly how much free space do I need? I currently have 153 GB out of 319 GB free. Seems like I have more than enough space available.

Resizing Windows and Mac volumes

Would anyone please be able to give me some direction as to how to downsize my windows volume in order to give me more space on the Mac volume? Thanks in advance...

Do not even try to use Partition Magic. If you do an operation on your Windows disk using Partition Magic, Partition Expert or any other such program, you will not be able to boot your Windows!
when bootcamp creates Windows partition, it sets this partition as active. thus, Windows sees this partition as C drive, and can boot without any problem. But, if you use such a program, It will corrupt the MBR, C: drive will disappear for windows, and it will not boot. This can even make bootcamp unable to run anymore!
I tried to partition my windows partition like that for installing linux, and it screwed up! I could repartition and install windows+linux (triple boot). But this was really a pain! but right now I am unable to use BootCamp. i manually extract the drivers.
And you talk about resizing OSX partition via Partition Magic. This can even damage hole system! I just tried to divide Windows partition in 2, and I lost Windows and BootCamp. if you try resizing OSX partition, you will lose everything as your MAC does not use old HD partitioning scheme like PCs do!
I suggest you to not try that... It is easier to reinstall windows. So the best way is to use BootCamp for deleting Windows, and recreating Windows partition afterwards. Try getting the Image of your Windows partition before erasing it. Maybe after resizing, you can use your old Windows image, so you will not have to install Windows from scratch...
