Windows 8 and premiere elements 10

I have premiere elements 10 on disk. Will not load on my new computer with windows 8. Anyone know what I can do about this. Spent hours looking for an answer, came up empty.

Thanks for the reply.
We can move forward at whatever level you want. The important thing is that we get you moving forward with your Premiere Elements 10 projects on your Windows 8 computer. That Windows 8 computer could be 32 bit or 64 bit system. For now, I will assume 64 bit unless you tell me otherwise.
If you are working from an installation disc, then I am guessing that you purchase Premiere Elements 10 in a boxed version. In that case, you probably have several discs in that packaging. I suspect that you may have selected the wrong disc.
Let us check that out first. If you have Premiere Elements 10 and you want to install that on Windows 8 64 bit system, then you use the disc that should be labelled DISC 2 of 5. Only after you have installed the program, then you use DISC 4 of 5 to install the Content (Instant Movie Themes, Disc Menus, etc).
So, first order of things...
a. Can you confirm that you have 64 bit system for your Windows 8? Yes would help but answer is not necessary if you do not know at this time. We should find the answer moving forward.
b. Can you insert the Premiere Elements 10 DISC 2 of 5 and move forward with the installation of the program? Do you see the serial number included on the case for the discs?
c. After you install the program, can you use DISC 4 of 5 to install the Content?
There are a few pitfalls to watch out for...
a. You probably have discs for Windows or Mac computer. You only want the right one for a Windows operating system.
b. There are disc there for a Windows 32 bit or 64 bit system. You want the one for the 64 bit system.
Please read the information on each of the disc if you have not already.
Please let me know if you are OK with the details just written and if you can work with them.
Thanks.

  • Any known incompabilities Windows 7 and Premiere Elements 7?

Premiere Elements 7 works really fine in Windows 7, until getting to burning to dvd or to harddrive. It starts prepearing for burning, then shuts down the whole program. Time after time I have tried, but it continues shutting down. Is it a incompability issue?

I have just this week bought the DL version of PrE 8 (after running the trails for a little time). At this point, I have very little experience with PrE (any version), have not installed the purchased version, nor tried to burn to disc with the trial. I have, however, been running Win7 64 bit since it was in beta and am now running Win7U 64 bit RTM.
A few things I would suggest are:
    1) Try running in compat mode. You can choose from several modes, including Vista, Vista SP1 & SP2, XP Sp..., etc.
    2) If #1 does not help, try running PrE7 as admin.
If none of the above works, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling, but before reinstalling, right click on the setup file and choose a compat mode.

  • Is Photoshop elements 10 and Premiere elements 10 compatible with windows 8.1?

Is photoshop elements 10 and premiere elements 10 compatible with windows 8.1?  I am upgrading from XP and am trying to determine if I should go to 8.1 or windows 7?

Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 are compatible with Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit. I have them installed on those operating systems and no problems. My video card is Intel HD Graphics.
But, a major question is what video card will be used? There is a major issue with Premiere Elements 10 users whose computers use a NVIDIA GeForce video card. It is fixed by rolling back the driver to about May 2013. This is a user to user fix. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has offered one. Full details are the Announcement at the top of the Premiere Elements Forum

Hi, I have bought Photoshop and Premiere Elements for windows, but I now have a iMac and would like to deactivate on the PC and transfer the programs to the iMac. Is that possible even do I bought it for Windows?

Normally an Elements purchase is good for both platforms.  You should only need to download and install the Mac versions of the programs and install and activate them using the serial number you have from the opriginal purchase.

  • Installing photoshope elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on Mac/windows

I own a Mac with bootcamp installed. so I have a mac and windows 7 (one computer)
I have installed photoshop elements 12 and premiere elements 12 on mac
and want to install it on the window side.
On the windows 7 side I do have photoshop elements 7 installed but, what to uninstall and
    put in 12.
    12 has been registered
    and so has 7

All versions of Elements can coexist, so you don't need to uninstall v7. Also note Barbara's reply in your other discussion concerning licensing.

  • Can i load elements 5 and premiere elements onto window 8.1

can I load photoshop elements 5 and premiere elements 7 onto window 8.1

Valdav27 you are welcome to try if you have the installation files.  Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 7 were never designed to function under Windows 8.1.
If you have the installation media then you can copy the files to a USB drive and attempt to install on your new Windows 8.1 computer.

I bought the Adobe student version of Photoshop and Premiere Elements a few months ago - and now I am trying to use it, and the serial number that I have is incorrect - or it is only the registration number or something? It says I should have been sent an email with the serial number once the product was registered - But I never received this email. If anyone is able to help me with this issue - that would be great. the registration number is: PEPEP6-5578-6450-8871-9107  I am using a windows based system

If I were you I would first make sure CS6 was deactivated or signed-out. Then download Adobe's cleaner and remove cc, CS6 and any other creative  application installed including Creative Cloud desktop application.  Then install CS6 and use your CS6  serial number during the install to activate CS6 standard or extended which ever the serial number is for.   CS6 Version 13.0 should the be activated. That level of CS6 is extremely bug ridden so be sure to the use CS6 menu Help>Updates to get CS6 updates.  Windows should update to version 13.0.1.3 Mac to version 13.0.6.  Not Subscription CS6 version 13.1.2...

  • Windows 8 and Premiere 11???  Please help

    Hi
I'm on windows 8 (64 bit) and PE11.  Today I lost all my work although I had saved regularly and I have to re-render very often.  Tonight as I'm trying to re-do my day's work, I'm losing sync and entire clips keep disapearing.  It seems to be becoming increasingly unstable.  I really don't know if I'm doing something wrong or, possibly, Windows 8 and Premire Elements 11 aren't the best fit.  I've noticed a few other post mentioning Window 8 problems although they seem to differ from mine.
The head of IT at my company wants to remove windows 8 and install windows 7 on my computer (mainly becasue of a VPN issue) but I am afraid I will lose all my work.
Can anyone suggest a way, or a number to call, to tell me how I can save my work, rid myself of windows 8 and then re-import my work into a windows 7 enviornment?  I fear 2 weeks of my work is going up in smoke.
PS I posted earlier, I am also having increasing frequent crashes.
    Please Help
    Thank you

    Hi Nealeh,
I think it is more than 'gut' feeling about Windows 8.  I had the same experience sometimes things worked, other times they didn't. Colleagues & I have problems with other programs after the Window 8 upgraded.  Infact, my VPN would not work at all with Windows 8 but works fine on W7 (luckily so I can work from home on this snowy day)
However,  since my last post I've had a new weird problems, although all the annimation footage that I generated in Photoshop/Premiere import just fine, I have to re-import them every day.  However the .MOV which worked perfectly on the Windows 8 platform now have the 'importer reported a generic error' in Windows 7.  According to the forums it may be a codec problem so I'm going to try re-importing them into the computer or try this codec solution I read about (although it seems very confusing)
I didn't want to convert to Windows 7 mid project, but with all the major crashes I had no choice.  If you are mid project, maybe you can publish the project as is to use with the new platform.  I wish I had been able to do that, exspecially with the animations as they took a long time to build, and it looks like I'm going to have to start from scratch.
Good luck with getting off Windows 8.

  • I need to reinstall Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10. Where can I find the download link?

I need to reinstall Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 on my Windows Laptop. Where can I find the download link?

If you registered your copy with adobe, you may find download links by going to the main page of adobe.com and clicking on My Adobe and working through the links there. If they're still available there, save the downloads this time, don't just run them, since adobe only makes those available for about 3 years.

  • Which files need installation for Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9

In the list of files for download for the Photoshop and Premiere Elements 9 Plus package that I just purchased,
(Windows 7) there is a single "Premiere Content ALL" file of ~4.2GB.  There are also 6 files called "Premiere
    Content 1" (and 2 2nd 3), and "Premiere Content 1 HD" (and 2 and 3).
After smooth installs of the PSE and PRE programs proper, in doing the install of the "Premiere Content ALL"
file, it seems like the "Content 1-3 and 1-3 HD"  files were included in it (judging by the file nmes flashing on
the screen during the install, and in poking around in the install directory).
What I would like to know is: are the 6 Content 1-3 and 1-3 HD file included in the Content ALL file, and if so,
are they at the same revision level as what's in the Content ALL file.
I don't want to just try installing the individual Content files over the ALL file install, as that might well screw
    something or other up.
I tried getting an answer to this on the phone with Adobe support, but could not get an unambiguous answer
from either of the two support people I spoke to.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks ...

Thanks for the reply.   The real question though was/is are ALL the files contained in the 6 separate content archive files
(Content 1, Content 2, Content 3, Content HD 1, Content HD 2, and Content HD 3) also contained in the single archive
    file called Content ALL?
Since I was unable to get a definitive answer to that question, I went ahead and downloaded all 7 of the Content archive
files, extracted all of the archived files in the *.7z files and compared the timestamps and sizes of the files in the 6 individual archives to the timestamps and sizes of the files from the "ALL" archive.   The files within the 6 archives matched those
    in the ALL archive.
And since the sizes of all 7 *.exe files are identical, I suspect they are all the same and simply invoke an unarchiver
for their respective 7z file, using their own filename as the argument to the builtin program.
The overall result is that I have verified to my own satisfaction that the contents of the 6 individual Content XX files
*are* contained within the single Content ALL file.
It would have been NICE if Adobe had bothered to TELL their customers that, so they wouldn't spend twice the time in
downloading 6 unnecessary files which in reality just duplicate the ALL file.   Plus in my case, spending an hour or
two verifying that the contents of the 6 files were also in the ALL file.   Sheesh.
    C'est la vie ...

  • Unable to open Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements

Yesterday I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my Computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) and first everything was alright.
But after a few hours I was not able to open one of them again. All I get is an error message to re-install the program again because of configuration error,  "error:1".
I had that problem before and i tried about three times to re-install them correctly. Last time I used the compability mode to install and that was the only time they opened at least once.
    Any ideas?

Adobe hasn't said whether it officially supports PSE 7 on Windows 7.  But reports are starting to trickle in that PSE 7 works fine on Windows 7 for most people, though a couple people have reported crashes. My PSE 7 seems to work fine, though I primarily use PSE 8 now.  This is all very preliminary, and we'll learn more as more people post here.
