Windows 8 and Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

Hi!
I hava a Toshiba L650 - 107 PSKI JE and I am having a problem with the my wireless network adapter on windows 8.
My network adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC and works fine on windows 7. Two days ago I formatted my hard drive and install windows 8. The problem is that for much drivers I keep installing, The wireless keep turned off. There's no way I can move the slide from off to on.
I already tried a lot of drivers from toshiba and from realtek but doesn't work.
I went to see the Network Connections (Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections) and the Ethernet is fine, I connect a cable and it is fine, but wi-fi says "Not connected".
How do I solve this problem?

A computer from Portugal? (Specifications attached.)
This driver should work on Windows 8.
   Realtek Wireless LAN Driver
But your problems may be more fundamental. Prior to loading Toshiba-specific programs, you probably need to install something like this.
Toshiba System Driver - Windows 8 beta
And for the function keys to work, you'll need still another Toshiba utility.

  • Slow wireless connection 802.11n AEBS and Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro

I have three Macs all currently connected wirelessly to the new 802.11n AEBS.
    Mac #1 - PowerMac G5
Mac #2 - 17" MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo
Mac #3 - 15" MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo
The wireless connection speed (when using the web browser) is fine for both Mac #1 and Mac #2 but noticable slower for Mac #3. All three Macs are sitting right next to each other. All three Mac are getting an excellent signal. All three Macs are running the same version of the OS. All three Macs have identical network setting (as far as I can tell).
When connecting Mac #3 to the AEBS via an ethernet cable, performance is good. I've also tried configuring the channel manually in the AEBS to channel #1 but this did not help (seemed to help others in a different thread). Additionally, I ran the 802.11n enabler and performance was bad both before and after its installation.
Any idea why the Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro would be performing differently?

Ok eveyone. I did some digging and was able to get the network speed back with my Core2Duo machine. I put the Airport Extreme into Bridged mode and connected the Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports, not the WAN port. After that everything works great. for more information check out this lengthy thread...

Apparently the new base stations have a few issues that need to be worked out so I'd consider this a workaround. There should be no reason to have to do this. Good luck.

  • MacBook Pro, iMac and MacBook Users Now Get 802.11n Wireless

    Another solution for 802.11n connectivity.

    Really...
I guess if you want it and can't DIY you will pay.
Yes, but even the DIY version is $149, which I consider ridiculous considering what others have done with the $49 Mac Pro card. I don't expect the QuickerTek solution to void the warranty any less.
Now, if the QuickerTek solution includes the third antenna that's in the C2D MacBook/MacBook Pro, my opinion might change. Details are scant at the moment.
Update: So much for changing my opinion. According to a report on xlr8yourmac.com, the QuickerTek card is the exact same card as the Mac Pro card.

  • Windows 7 machine can't see 802.11n network

(I actually have a Time Capsule but since this is a wi-fi question I'm posting it here.)
I have a Dell running Windows 7 (32-bit) that has a wireless dongle. The dongle is supposed to be 802.11n.
However, that computer never connects using n, it only connects at g.
I tried creating separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on the Time Capsule, and the Dell DOES NOT EVEN SEE the 5GHz network. I can stand with a Macbook in the exact same location as the Dell and get a strong 5GHz signal.
    Any clues?

My guess is that Win7 "recognized" the device as a Realtek and substituted the Realtek drivers for it. Did your Zonet come with an installation CD ... or provides a web support site? If either, I would strongly suggest, that you use their drivers instead ... and this is a good reason you're only getting access with the 802.11g mode.

  • Unplugging the old extreme and plugging in the new 802.11n

I had trouble getting the new exteme to work like the old one. I got WPA2 security to work but not the old extreme. I spoke with an apple tech. We reset both stations, established the new network, then joined the extreme to that and everything works fine now.
    Two caveats:
The new 802.11n will not support extending the range and joining a wireless network (as in using the extreme for Itunes) at the same time. It is either one or the other and not both as before. This might be fixed in the future.
The 2. is this- is the old airport extreme base station just a paperweight now or is there a some useful thing it can do in the new setup (maybe extend the range of the network?)
I definitely notice faster internet connections with the new extreme base station.

You could set up a Dual Band network.
    It means that there is one big network but with two base stations;
I have one supporting 802.11g 2.4Ghz clients and another running as 802.11n only on 5ghz.
You actually get more network bandwidth. It is backwards compatible too. So Airtunes and WDS are supported.
    There's a thread on it.

  • Wireless N (802.11n) support removed from iOS 8.3?

Using an iPhone 6 plus here. My internet router is configured for two frequencies, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
After the ota update, my phone is no longer able to connect to the 5Ghz frequency.
Below are the wireless mode settings for each frequency (note : the settings below were working fine with iOS 8.2 and earlier)
When changing the mode to 802.11a for the 5ghz channel, I am able to connect. Did Apple disable wireless N mode on their devices?

My router (D-Link 825) works just fine with my iPads and my MacBook Pro both on the 5 GHz 802.11 band. Of course, if the router is working properly, there is nothing that one device can do to "kick other devices off." It is, after all, the router's job to manage communications between multiple devices.
So don't expect a fix from Apple. if your router doesn't work properly to manage communication between your iPad and other devices, get another router. Even wireless-N routers are pretty cheap these days. Also, many routers can be re-flashed with open source firmware freely available on the web.
I did encounter one odd problem when I first set up my iPad2, in that I was initially getting "unable to connect" alerts from the iPad2 when I tried to join my 5 GHz 802.11n network. I thought that maybe the iPad2 couldn't handle 5 GHz, so I turned on 2.4 GHz on the router and was then able to connect. But then I switched back to 5 GHz only mode, and the iPad2 re-connected just fine.

  • Does the 4th Gen iPod touch and the iPads really support 802.11n?

Ok so I see on the boxes of my iPad and my iPod touch 4 say that they support 802.11n wifi connections. The iPad even supports 5Ghz 802.11n. However when I change the settings on my network to '802.11n only', only my MacBook Pro can connect to the network.
    Config Details:
    802.11 Band - 2.4Ghz
    802.11n Mode - Auto
    Bandwith - 20Mhz
    Security - WPA2-PSK [AES]
What's really going on?? I also see that all the devices are in 'g mode' and only my computer is in 'n mode' based on the router settings.

I do use it a lot for games...they tend to be larger files. My songs are whatever my dad buys and whatever I buy. Once I import this big batch of songs I will be at 700 songs and then will only add more when Dad or I buy them. I make a lot of money for a high schooler but my mom doesn't like how much I spend on iTunes (she's not into music the way I am). I don't want to have to pick and choose on which apps I have on my iPod. Songs, I can pick and choose if necessary. I just hate running low on available space.

  • I need 802.11n PCI card or USB adapter

    Hi,
I have a G5 and Apple's AirPort Extreme Card is capped at 802.11g. Is there an alternative? Is the MAXPower 802.11n/g/b Wireless USB 2.0 Stick Adapter & Extension Cradle any good?

  • WAP4410N and WRT610N Cant Bridge Wirelessly in 802.11N

I have two buildings across the street from each other and purchased the WAP4410N on advice of a tech support rep at Cisco who stated I would be able to bridge the two locations with the WAP4410N and my current router WRT610N in N mode however todate 8 month later I've gotten no success in bridging in N but I've been successful in G, but the connection is spotty (not to mention VERY SLOW) as it's just out on the verge of being out of range. for the four tech's who've opened cases they agree this is possible but have been unable to get this to work in their lab or onsite here and close the case after they give up since there is at least A bridge irregardless of how poor of a job it's doing.
Has anyone been able to bridge in N mode? If so any advice as to the specific settings you have been able to use to connect? If not, or you can verify why not, what additional changes I will need to make.
and yes I am aware that running a line would be a better option, but it would be $3k to have the pipe just across the street let alone the burial quality cat5 costs

A reasonable solution would be not use the wrt610n and get a wrvs4400n version 2.  Your connecting up a consumer product up to a small business product and in the past i have seen issues with stable and reliable connections.  The wap4410n and the Wrvs4400n have what is called WDS that they can use to make the bridge connect up and be more stable for you.  It would be a less expensive option than burying a line.

  • Dcf and pcf in wireless lan

    hi every body!
First let get few terms out of the way.
    "PCF" point coordination function.
"ips " the time , point coordinator must wait to transmit its beacon to let stations know the duration of polling will be in use.
    "dcf "distributed coordination function.
When both dcf and pcf is are in use, it makes sense for access point acting as point coordinator to wait for" PIFS" then sends the beacon to let the stations know duration of time during which pcf polling will be used. Upon receiving this beacon, stations that want to transmit using " DCF" will hault their transmission for the duration specified in a beacon . Access point then sends a frame to one station, granting it permission to transmit.
My question is "pifs" makes sense only when both pcf and dcf are in use. When only pcf is in use , access point ( point coordinator) does not need to wait for "pifs" and does not need to send beacon at the end of" pifs" duration to let stations know the duration of polling as there is one pcf method being used, stations know they have to wait for their turn to transmit.
    Am i correct?
    Thanks a lot!

The interframe spaces (SIFS, PIFS, and DIFS) allow 802.11 to control which traffic gets first access to the channel after carrier sense declares the channel to be free. Generally, 802.11 management frames and frames not expecting contention (a frame that is part of a sequence of frames) use SIFS, and data frames use DIFS.

  • Ipad and Iphones (w/ iOS 6) 802.11n AP's with TSPEC video enable

Does not work with Enterprise 11n AP's wth TSPEC (admission control) enabled.
If TSPEC is disabled, it connects and work OK. Any experiences or thoughts??.

We have Cisco branded 1142's and have noticed the same thing. It seems to be the combination. If we disable N radio....things work. Or, disable admission control and it will start working. iphone 4 on ios6 and iphone 5 on ios6 behave the same way. iphone 4 on ios 5.1.1 works.

  • Help ! I'm trying to use a Wireless LAN Wifi G PCI Adapter (Card)

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect my daughters PC to the internet with the above one of them runs W98SE the other XP, I can get both to rune with the existing wireless usb I have but can't get the above card to work. When I enter the WEP key it starts complaining about the net work password needing to be 40 or 104 bits depending on network config. and entered as either 5 or 12 ASCII characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters (which I'm sure it is !) What am I doing wrong ? My provider is Orange and I have their wireless router.
    cheers.........Gogs

i'm not really sure what else i can suggest you try, beyond what you have already tried.
for Windows XP, if you have a USB flash drive, you can use the Wireless Networking Wizard, which copies the wireless settings to the flash drive, then you just plug the flash drive into all the computers connected to the network, and it will automatically connect them
there is no hardware problem as i can tell, as the network encryption is all done through software. the only possible thing i can suggest is to double-check once again that you are entering the WEP key correctly

  • Lenovo Yoga 13 Downgrade to Windows 7 Wireless Lan Driver & USB3.0 Driver

    Hey guys,
I have purchased the Yoga 13 in U.A.E in last Feb. with AED4,999.00
But some programms does not work with Windows 8. So I am using Windows7 with multi-boot.
Guess you guys also have such problem.. eventually finding out the WIFI Driver & USB3.0 Driver.
Now, I have succeeded in installing both of them.
    1. Wireless Lan Driver : Realtek RTL8723A Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter.
The way I found this driver is... Download all the REALTEK driver in a designated folder.. of course uncompressed.
And then using the contraol panel... updated the driver with the designated folder.
Now it is working very well.
    2. USB3.0 Driver
It was an easy game. I just have downloaded thee Intel USB3.0 Driver for Windows7... you could find it through google with easy.
And just installed it. It works very well.
=> You could download the file at http://me2.do/xKBVnWo3
          (just put password : 4321 )
If you guys have problem with above issues... or need the file let me know with my mail at xxxxxxxxxxx
Anyhow, there are still two drivers I couldn't find.

  • Satellite Pro L450 - Realtek RTL8191SE WLAN adapter: Limited Access

    Hi
Hoping you can help me with my issue with wifi connection.
    OS: Windows 7
Wireless adapter: Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN adapter
    Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro L450
    Wireless router/modem: Cisco
When I turn the laptop on the wifi connection may work for 10-30mins but then the network access drops but remains connected with Limited Access.
Then on reboot the connection will have Limited Access from the offset.
Also, sometimes the Available Wireless Connections do not show in the Available Networks on windows toolbar.
When using the Ethernet cable connected to my router there are no problems.
I have been searching forums for help on this and have already tried the following without success,
Updated driver: issue date May 2010
Checked that TCP/IP was set to get IP and DNS automatically
    Turned off firewall
    Reset modem
Countless reboots of both modem and laptop
The wireless router/modem works perfectly as I can connect with other devices and laptops.
Is this a problem that is seen regularly with this combination of laptop/wireless card/OS?
Would really appreciate any guidance you can give me as this is getting very frustrating.
    Thanks
    Kieran

Tonny, updated BIOS and still no joy. Have given up on this! Just to let ye know I bought an external usb wifi adaptor and it works great.Have to say I am very annoyed that Toshiba would sell a laptop where the wifi card is not compatible with the OS or conflicts in some other way. If anyone is interested this is the adapter I bought (http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/11514859/Laptone-WiFi-Wireless-N-USB-Adapter/Product.html?ob=Price&fb=0&cur=258) and works perfectly with Windows 7, getting similar speeds to a direct connection and only cost me 10. Should not have had to go down this road but its a lesson learned, no more Toshiba!
