Windows 8 enterprise

I have upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 enterprise.
I am using cisco vpn client to access client systems and tata photon or reliance net connect for internet. it is working in windows 7, but when I migrated in windows 8. VPN has been connected, but we are not able to access internet and client systems.

Please try to modify the following registry for a test. Before modifing it, please back it up first.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA
Edit the DisplayName value to remove the gibberish before "Cisco".
For x86, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter"
For x64, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows"

  • Windows 7 Enterprise to Windows 8.1 upgrade consumer edition

    Hi,
    It might be a silly question but I'd like to know if it's possible to upgrade from a Windows 7 Enterprise computer to a Windows 8.1 consumer license. I mean the regular not the Pro edition.
    I am currently running  W7 Enterprise 64Bit and I bought an ESD version of Windows 8.1 and I went through the download process but once I try to move on to the installation it just wont run. It doesn't show any error but the installation setup just
    disappears.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Alex.

    if you really plan to use Windows 8.1 enterprise in future you can upgrade to Windows 8.1 enterprise preview
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-8-1-enterprise
    but rather than made a risk, I suggest you just download full ISO and installed it on separate drive and have dual boot OS configuration, for some cases you maybe not able to revert back to Windows 7 enterprise after the upgrade to Windows 8.1 enterprise
    preview. So make it safe and clean

  • How Do I Convert Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview and Back Without Reinstalling Windows?

    Howdy,
    Much like in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, Windows 10 provides you with experience that allows you to convert your Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview without having to reinstall Windows.
    Why would I need converting my Windows SKU (edition)
    Currently, you may need this to fix issues with Windows not synchronizing browser favorites between different editions. For example, if you're using Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview in a test environment at work and Windows 10 Pro Technical
    Preview at home, you won't see favorites added on Enterprise edition at home and vice versa. All the links added on Pro edition while browsing web at home won't appear on your work PC.
    To convert Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10
    Enterprise Technical Preview:
    1. Press WindowsKey+PauseBreak and select Add Windows Features at the bottom left corner of System window.
    2. In the Add features to <OSName> window click to add Product key and type in the
    public product key for Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview available here.
    Voila! Your Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview is now converted to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview.
    To convert Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview to Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview:
    Following the above procedure does NOT reveal Add features to Windows 10 link button in System window.
    We could try doing this through DISM tool.
    1. Press WindowsKey+X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. At the command prompt type dism /online /Get-CurrentEdition to obtain information about the current edition of Windows:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> dism /online /Get-CurrentEdition
    Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Image Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Current edition is:
    Current Edition : Enterprise
    The operation completed successfully.
    PS C:\Windows\system32>
    3. Check which versions you may switch to:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> dism /online /Get-TargetEditions
    Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Image Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Editions that can be upgraded to:
    (The current edition cannot be upgraded to any target editions.)
    The operation completed successfully.
    Looks like Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview cannot be downgraded.
    To downgrade edition from Enterprise to Pro, you can trick Windows setup into thinking it is running on Pro by going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion and changing the following keys:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    "EditionID"="Enterprise"
    "ProductName"="Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview"
    I believe for Pro edition this must be
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    "EditionID"="Professional"
    "ProductName"="Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview"
    After that you may run in-place upgrade using Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Setup disc.
    Note, if you can't find the Add features to option in Control panel, press Windows Key + R and type control /name Microsoft.WindowsAnytimeUpgrade.
    If you want to, you could change Windows edition via DISM servicing tool by running:
    DISM /online /Set-Edition:Enterprise /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula
    In case you can't access official page for
    Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview download, or the page that contains
    product key for Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, you can always obtain the product key by looking for
    F:\sources\pid.txt on the Windows Setup disc.

  • Installing OVI Suit on Windows Vista Enterprise di...

    Hy,
    I have a great problem with the OVI suit installation on a Windows Vista Enterprise 32Bit.
    Before i install ovi suit, there was the "Nokia PC Suit" on the PC this software is uninstalled now, and also i run the “Nokia_PC_Suite_Cleaner_7_1_1.exe“.
    Also i have browsed the Support Board and Google/Bing for solutions,
    But nothing of these entries can help me with this installation.
    OVI Suit version is actually downloaded yesterday (3.0.0.290).
    The installation stops at 1/3 of the normal run.
    I have tested the installation on 3 machines like the problem PC, without a problem.
    So i have no idea what i can do to run the installation to the end.
     Now I have started a new try to install the OVI Suit, and deleted before all Registry-Keys.
    By the way, is this really normal that the installation needs more than 120MB RAM?
    So it’s 16:30 at your site next business day is Monday, i hope you have all details and can help me.
    Greats from Austria

    Try copying the QTMovieWin.dll in the  c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support folder to the c:\program files (x86)\iTunes folder. I had same problem and it's fixed this bug.

  • Driver for the ethernet controller on a HP Pavillion P600000 Series desktop after upgrading to Windows 7 Enterprise?

    After upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Enterprise (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601), I cannot find working drivers for my ethernet controller. The desktop is a HP Pavillion, Model
    No. p6710f. I located the drivers on HP's website, but Windows 7 Enterprise
    is not listed as compatible. Compatibility list:
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
    The original driver (according to HP's site) is a Realtek PCIe Family networking controller, Version:7.26.902.2010 Rev. A.
    I tried contacting HP, but apparently I voided their warranty once I upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise. I do not have a support plan with Microsoft because the operating system was purchase through TechSoup (nonprofit). I greatly appreciate your help;
    let me know if you need more information.

    Hello,
    We have a customer with IBM x3500 M3 server, Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2 32-bit, 24GB RAM (Domain, file and print server, rdp server roles installed).

  • Error while Installing R12.1.1 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition

    Dear All,
    I am installing R12.1.1 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Server. I am using the media source that i have downloaded from Oracle Edelivery. I have done a MD5Sum check on the dowloaded files based the MD5SUM Check details given in site. (Not after staging).
    I have the stage files in the same partition as the partition in which the OS & Oracle is being installed (Free space is 300GB after staging)
    When the Installation reaches 53%, the installation fails with the following Error: "RW-50004: Error code received when running external process. Check log file for details. Running APPL_TOP Install Driver for VIS Instance"

  • I am running Windows 7 Enterprise. I want to upgrade to a newer version of itunes. I click on help then click on check for upgrades. When I try to upgrade/install the upgrade for itunes it loads 52MB of the required 56MB and then just freezes ?

    I am running Windows 7 Enterprise.
    I need to upgrade my version of Itunes from version 7 to version 10 or 11.
    I go to Help and click on Search for Upgrades.
    I then select Upgrade Itunes.
    The system starts to upgrade and download the new software.
    It gets to 52.60 MB of 56 MB and then it just freezes / sticks and does not go any further ?
    I have tried to upgrade on a number of occasions but the same thing happens each time.
    Any help please ?

    Answer is in the original post.

  • Unable to upgrade or install windows 10 enterprise technical preview from windows 8.1 pro

    Compaq Presario SR2034NX
    windows 8.1 pro build 9600 64 bit, x64processor
    I have attempted a clean install booting from a burned dvd with the iso file on it using the windows 7 USB/DVD download tool, Ive attempted to boot from a usb using rufus. Ive even attempted to just run as administrator right from the download
    the setup file.
    Installing via USB windows 10 opens the language screen but everything on my screen is distorted, ive tried to change my screen resolution to fix this. it did not work.  Once I managed to click my way to the next screen but windows 10 asked me
    for a driver to be installed and I have no idea what driver that could be.
    Installed via DVD and direct setup file windows 10 opens to the making sure your pc is updated.. then it downloads and says its installing. at the moment it finished installing and restarts the next screen is black and the windows wheel starts turning
    it freezes.. about every minute to five minutes it will turn a bit more.. I left my pc in this state for a full 24hours without touching it and it never finished installing.
    I have tried several different builds. I even downloaded bluestacks and ran windows 10 enterprise technical preview as a virtual and I was successful doing it this way but Ive already tested windows 10 on two other desktops and a laptop of mine and im ready
    to make the switch. this is my last desktop to run windows 10 and its giving me a hard time.
    can someone please help me figure this out

    Hi Metro1952,
    I found the following link indicates that there is no official driver designed for Windows 8 or later:
    Compaq Presario Media Center SR2034NX Desktop PC
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/Compaq-Presario-SR2000-Desktop-PC-series/3239110/model/3250934
    So, there might be a compatibility issue.
    Again, to prepare the USB installation, you need ensure that you boot from the USB device, I suggest you make a clean USB boot drive by using diskpart:
     DISKPART> list disk
    DISKPART> select disk x (x is the USB drive letter)
    DISKPART> clean
    DISKPART> create partition primary
    DISKPART> select partition 1
    DISKPART> active
    DISKPART> format FS=NTFS QUICK
    DISKPART> assign
    DISKPART> exit
    Then copy the all installation files to the root of the USB drive:

  • IPhone 3G 2.1 connection error with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista Enterprise

    I was previously able to connect my iphone with my work computer (Windows Vista Enterprise) and it would recognize my phone. However, since I updated my iphone to version 2.1, it will not recognize the phone and gives me the following error message:
    "iTunes could not connect to the iphone because an unknown error occured (0xE8000024)."
    I am able to connect my phone with version 2.1 to my home computer running Windows XP SP2.
    Any idea what may be causing the connection error in Windows Vista?

    Hey TranceCadet,
    This could be caused by a USB connection issue.
    Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the PC and not plugged into a hub, monitor, or keyboard. Disconnect any other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.
    This article has some general USB troubleshooting tips: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
    You may also want to disable or reconfigure any security software. This article will walk you through putting the PC in a selective startup mode, which will bypass most application conflicts.

  • Windows Vista Enterprise (Registered Editi

    I have the full version of Enterprise given to me and my fellow students at my college. I was wondering if I was getting a blue screen of death because the drivers were made for the beta versions of Vista? I have deleted my temp files and have tried installing the 2.3.000 driver. Alls well until I have rebooted and it continues the installation process. I am then given the BSOD.
    I successfully installed the drivers at one time, but oddly enough they showed in the device manager as being the best and most recent drivers for the hardware. But I still got the error message in my taskbar saying "No Audio Output Device is Installed."
    I'm pulling my hair out here. My PC specs are:
    3.2 ghz p4
    2 gig RAM
    GeForce 7600GT
    Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
    Windows Vista Enterprise
    Any insight you can give me would be HIGHLY appreciated.

    I suppose you use the 32bit version of vista?
    try unpacking the install file (eg. winrar), and install the dri'ves only (remove old ones first, including software)?...\SBXF_PCDVTBETA_US_2_3_000\Drivers\se tup.exe?if it doesn't work, try the same with XP drivers?...\SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_09_0007\Src\Drivers\se tup.exe?be sure to checkverwrite existing shared creative audio driver files?if you get the sound to work, then you can install audioconsole and such... note: with beta 2 I had to reinstall vista after I screwed up driver installation once. if you can, do a fresh install and start all over again.Message Edited by kid988 on 0-04-200704:53 AM

  • CoCreateInstance returns 0x8007007e (Module could not be found) for the first call only at system startup on Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2

    Hi Guys,
    I'm experiencing a problem with CoCreateInstance, where it returns error 0x8007007e.
    The code is something like this:
    HRESULT hRes = S_OK;
    CComPtr<IMyInterface> spObj;
    if(FAILED(CoInitialize(NULL))) { /* quit */ }while(FAILED(hRes = spObj.CoCreateInstance(CLDIS_MyClass, NULL, CLSCTX_LOCAL_SERVER)))
    // LogFailure(hRes);
    Sleep(10);
    The problems occurs only on a single machine having Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2 installed (it works fine on other machines / OS versions). It happens only during the system startup (this is a Windows Service) and only for the first call of the CoCreateInstance.
    The second call always succeeds.
    The problem does not occurr when starting the service manually from Services.
    I did some investigation using Process Monitor and found that the HKCR\CLSID\[CLSID of MyClass]\LocalServer32!LocalServer32 registry value is accessed before the failure. The registry value exists - it is added by the Windows Installer during
    installation.
    If I remove the registry value then the CoCreateInstance always succeeds.
    I've been trying to lookup for some documentation on HKCR\CLSID\...\LocalServer32!LocalServer32 but haven't found anything useful other than it's a "Windows Installer Entrypoint". I assume that the Windows Installer does some integrity checks when
    calling CoCreateInstance for such class and this fails for some reason but currently I fail to find the reason.
    Can anyone help finding out what's the root cause of the 0x8007007e error here, please? Any help or tip is much appreciated.
    Many thanks!
    Marcin.

    But to answer you question try:
    Navigate to Windows Control Panel, Windows Updates, Change Settings, Check the option "Give Me Updates for Microsoft Products and check for new optional Microsoft software when I update Windows".
    Run the "Check for updates" again and you should be good to go.
