Windows 8 error/crash: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Hi,
I bought a new computer with Windows 8 and it has crashed almost every day . Despite constantly sending the details of the crash through to Microsoft it doesn't seems to have been addressed. The error message that pops up every time is the
same. It is on a blue screen and says:
"Your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart :(
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (tcpip.sys)"
Can someone please explain what I need to do to fix this? I am not a tech head so some step by step instructions would be great. Can i (re)install new drivers etc or is this a common fault of Windows 8? This is driving me crazy. It certainly
doesn't make me feel like I have a new computer that's for sure!

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Hi,

I just read one post that suggested someone's fault ma be because of antivirus software AVG Internet Security 2013 (which I have). How can I find out iof this is the case? And if this software doesn't work with Windows 8 does anyone know
what is the best to use with Windows 8?
Any help would be massively appreciated.

I've been getting a bunch of errors and automatic restarts. This was the most recent one.
https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=ABF6FF188301339%21111
here are my dump files. There are only three. I don't know if this link will work I've never used skydrive.
Even though it says my system is 64 bit all of my tasks in the task manager say 32 bit and for some reason "Windows Explorer (32 bit)" has been taking up a lot of CPU even when I am doing nothing on my laptop. This has all been happening recently.
My laptop was fine a couple of days ago now the fan seems overworked and I keep getting these crashes. Any help would be appreciated. The link worked great.
There were two errors reported a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) and a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) error.
The DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error referenced the igdkmd64.sys which is the Intel display driver.
The DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE error appears to be related to USB and may be caused by the webcam driver, the rtsuvc.sys:

The issue(s) appear to be similar to that reported in the following link and may be inherent to the Y510P:
http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/43242-bsod-while-chrome-driver_power_state_failure.html
You could try updating the camera driver or roll back to a previous stable version or disable the camera in the Device Manager.
Also, update the Intel graphics driver, you can try the following utility from Intel to check for driver updates:
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
I might also suggest to uninstall, at least temporarily, Avast and use just Windows 8.1 built-in antivirus (Windows Defender) and firewall.
Also, uninstall Daemon Tools as the dtscsibus.sys driver may be problematic. -
Hi,
I bought a new computer with Windows 8 (64 Bit) in April/May 2013 and it has recently started crashing within the last week. The error message that pops up every time is the same. It is on a blue screen and says:
"Your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart :(
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)"
Can someone please explain what I need to do to fix this?
I've read that it can be antiviruses such as Avast, however I am currently running Vipre. (I have Avira installed still, but disabled while I complete the trial of Vipre)
Any help would be *greatly* appreciated!
Thank you!CH
These were Related to NETwew00.sys Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Driver from Intel Corporation. I would install the newest driver available.

Hi --
Today, I've started to experience bluescreens when running 3D games. The error says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I'm running a 64 bit Windows 8.1.
Can someone tell me how to fix this and let me know what is wrong with my computer? I have a Minidump file uploaded to Onedrive. Please follow the link below. I cannot make it a hyperlink as my account is not yet verified, so copy and paste it.

This was related to your Driver for Intel Graphics Adapter. I would remove the current driver and then install the newest driver available (yours is from 2013) and probably corrupt

I went on my itunes about a week ago and it sid it recognised my ipod but couldn't detect it in itunes (or something like that), so following the instructions given i uninstalled itunes. then when i went to re install it, an error code came up saying error 7 (windows error 127). so following steps of previous discussions i tried to delete the whole itunes programme and apple application support. although this then failed and wouldn't let me delete it. now when i click on itunes it comes up with error 2 (windows error 2) please help!!
Guess you have to do Uninstall and Re-install of iTunes from scratch.
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -
Itunes wont open - Error 7 (windows error 127)
When downloading the lastest version of itune my computer crashed and now itunes will not open. It says itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall. Error 7 (windows error 127). Reinstalling intunes has not fixed the problem. Please help!
Follow these instructions to completely remove Apple software
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Then use free Ccleaner to repeatly repair your registry until it's fixed.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
download iTunes again from Apple.

Windows 7 Crash (Blue Screen) with Skype 6.18 on H...
Hi,
I think a lot of people are having the same problem with Skype 6.18 on HP Pavilion notebooks.
Windows 7 crashes during the auto-update or installation of 6.18
After about 3-4 hours of troubleshooting the Blue Screen / service exception error (in ks.sys) I discovered that it's caused by the HP HD Webcam [Fixed] driver (version is 6.0.1113.1 released 2012-11-20 (or 20-11-2012)).
The driver is written by Sonix and is unlikely to be updated. So you have the choice of going back to an older version of Skype or disabling the webcam / driver through Device Manager. As soon as you disable the driver / device Skype will install / start - but of course you won't be able to use video during Skype calls.
Hopefully Microsoft / Skype will fix the driver incompatibility in a future release.
Skype Support - the issue is with the HP / Sonix driver - file is snp2uvc.sys
There are similar issues reported with a previous version of the HP HD Webcam driver as well (SPUVCBv_x64.sys).
Please fix it. I'd like to use video in calls again! The best working solution at this time is to download and install Skype 6.14 and disable updates. If you still get prompts to upgrade you can ignore them and the program should continue to function as it has not been retired as of yet. Hopefully there will be a resolution in a future Skype update or an updated driver from HP that might resolve the issue.

After updating to Windows 8.1, Windows Explorer crashes.
Hello, I have recently updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. When it finished the install and reboot, it went to my desktop where my background image was gone, Kaspersky Pure 3.0 was gone, and Windows Explorer crashes every time it is opened. The other
two problems are not as big of a problem right now so I searched around for a fix on this issue. I found that some applications, specifically Autodesk, were causing conflicts. I don't have Autodesk but I decided to update everything anyways. I reinstalled
Kaspersky, fully updated it and ran a scan to see if it was a virus, which it is not. I updated AVG 2014 free, Malwarebytes free, and many others. I also ran Windows Update. I ran CCleaner to see if it would fix the problem and it didn't either. I looked at
the error report and saw that it was caused by StackHash_35ff, which through further investigation turned out to be a fancy term for nothing. What is my problem? I really don't want to restore to an older version because I've spent the better part of the day
allowing Windows 8.1 to bother me. Please help because I'm out of ideas and nothing from other responses seemed to be the solution.Okay, so the above worked. I ended the Com Surrogate task, the went into cmd and typed in these two commands;
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Everything seems to be back in order. I hope this helps anyone who has the same problem, seeing as no one else came up with this solution. -
We are using SharePoint 2013 and I want to sync document libraries with
OneDrive for Business with my PC running Windows 7.
In general, it works, but my Windows Explorer crashes very often (after a few minutes) when I navigate in the synced directories and open files there (or copy files into them in Windows Explorer).
How can I find out what happens and how to avoid it?
remark:
We are still using Office 2007, so I installed only OneDrive for Business from the Office 2013 DVD and
deactivated all other components like Office 2013 by hand:
(so for example, the shared office feature or MS Info Path etc. were not installed)
Is there a crash log, where I can find more information about the crash?
Does OneDrive maybe need other components to be installed and can I install them without damaging my existing Office 2007 setup?Did you check your Event Viewer for any errors during the time when Windows Explorer crashed?
Thanks for this hint!
The Log file says the following, so it seems to be WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\btncopy.dll
to be responsible for the crashing Windows Explorer

Windows Explorer crashes when plugging or unplugging ipod touch
Seems something is buggy with Itunes 7 or the Ipod Touch itself. This happens to me on 2 different computers, one Dell and one HP so I doubt seriously if it is the computers themselves. All of my drivers on both systems are up to date.
When I plug in the IPOD it will work and sync, however when I unplug it I get a windows explorer crash each time. Needless to say this is irritating as heck.
Anyone else having this problem?
thanks
Redy4itI have the same problem, even when i use the eject button. I hate vista but on my pc i have no choice but to run it. Never had any problems on my Macs. i also get a strange error on work pc running XP. It says at first that it doesn't recognize the device running in compatibility mode but then it switches over and works fine. I tend to blame it on Microsoft crap, maybe they are updating their OSes to mess with Apple products.
