Windows 8 Ethernet

Hey guys,
i recently did a fresh install of windows 8 on my Mac (iMac Late 2012 modell) and i'm having a little bit trouble connecting it to the world wide web.
I installed all the needed drivers, as delivered from the apple bootcamp dvd (actually for windows 7, but works fine for win 8).
However, everything works fine, i'm also able to connect via WiFi to my Homenetwork, but i need it to do via ethernet.
But that's the problem, ethernet won't work, i can see that there is no driver installed.
(There are actually no drivers installed for Ethernet/ Bluethooth / FaceTime HD)
Is there any chance to manually download the driver, eventually with the hardware name?
I know that under win 7 everything worked fine with the very same ethernet driver.
I'm relly looking forward to some help (:

From Control panel, choose Network and Sharing Center. Your wire to Modem needs to be plugged in.
Disable Wireless & setup Wired. Picture shows basic wired requirement. Double click on image to enlarge.

  • Windows ethernet - MBP Airport internet sharing

Hmmm i am using my airport on my MBP fine.
i want to share my internet to a windoze pc via ethernet.
it says that ethernet is active but your computer doesnt have an IP address and cannot connect to the intermet.
on the PC it says something along those lines...
    whats that about?? any ideas?

Have you turned on Internet Sharing in the Sharing System Preference?

    Hi KrzyScribbler:
Check your sharing settings in system preferences, under internet and network
Also check all the boxes (except netinfo) in 'directory access' in the utilities folder

  • Slow wireless conection but excellent wired connection, anyone knows why?

Hi everyone. Here is the issue, I connect my MB Pro wireless to my DLINK DIR-655 router. I have a 10Mb Internet connection. Go to speedtest.net and do 5 tests. First test = more than 9.80+Mb
Second to Fith tests = between 1.7Mb and 2.9Mb
After that the connection just maintains slow around the 2Mb.
I disable the Airport Card and then plug in a CAT5 that is connected to the same router. Close the browser and open it again. Go to speedtest.net and do 5 tests. ALL OF THEM 9.9+Mb
Not happy with this I decided to bypass the DLINK router and still use CAT5 but connected directly to the cable modem. Turn off then back on the modem, went to speedtest.net to repeat the process but this time I did 10 tests. ALL OF THEM 9.95+Mb.
All tests were done one after another, example, test 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
No other software was running doing downloads or any kind of browsing besides Firefox using speedtest.net.
So, my question is, what is wrong here??? Is anybody else having this issue or better yet been able to resolve it? Thanks for any help.

Exact same issue with me. Wireless on MBP is slow (under Mac OS and Windows) Ethernet connection is fast.
iPhone connects to wireless and gets about 10Mbps. MBP connects and gets Less than 1Mbps.
I am using DIR-628 router. Someone mentioned switching the router to G only. No mixed mode to fix this. Didnt try this yet as brother is on the internet.

  • No ethernet in windows 7 on mac mini (late 2014)

    Hi.
I bought the new mac mini and installed windows 7 64bit but no ethernet driver...
    any advice?

From the same iFixit guide, this is your WiFi card...
    Broadcom BCM4360KML1G 5G WiFi 3-Stream 802.11ac Gigabit Transceiver
You should look at the Bootcamp drivers, because they already have BMC43xx drivers which support 802.11n a/b/g/n/ac. The Late 2013 rMBP for example supports it.
    From the 2013 rMBP teardown...
Apple's go-to provider of 802.11ac support is again at work. The Broadcom BCM4360 on this AirPort card enables operation on the 5 GHz band at speeds up to 1.3 Gbps.
    I suggest you try this.

  • How to connect a Windows computer to Base Station through Ethernet

I use Road Runner to connect to the internet. My setup is like this.
Roadrunner comes in to the cable modem. My cable runs from the modem to Airport Base Station. My MacBook Pro sees the base station fine and I'm accessing the internet wireless through Airport. All is well there.
My wife has a PC running Windows XP. I put my Airport Extreme disk in the PC and it loaded the software.
I have an ethernet cable plugged into the back of the PC running over to the Base Station to one of the ethernet ports. There is a green light beside the cable on the base station and also on the pc where the cable plugs into it - it blinks off and on on the PC.
Yet, when I get on the PC, I cannot access the internet. As you can probably already guess, I'm not too saavy on the PC. I have restarted the PC and tried all I know to do, but I still can't connect to the internet. I'm sure I'm missing a setting.
Can someone please "hold my hand" and walk me through how to set up the PC? I can't get very far on the PC going into Airport Utility because it says I don't have an internet connection.
Please help! (And talk to me like you're talking to a rock . . )
    Thanks
    Reggie

  • I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. Any tips on how to do this?

I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine.  Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection.  Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties).  The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8.  When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

  • Bonjour won't print to ethernet windows 7

Bonjour is a very exasperating piece of stuff.  I am trying to get a printer attached to a Mac to print a document from Windows 7.
    Bonjour installs properly, I think.
The Windows machine (connected by ethernet, not wirelessly) sees the printer on the Mac.  The Firewall is turned off.
The print instruction is sent, the print job goes off ...  and probably lands on the Moon.  No print results come out of the printer.
Directions would be most welcome; this should not be rocket science!

A follow up comment, in case somebody has similar complaints.  I have established full printer sharing with my PCs, so my nasty remarks about Bonjour were inappropriate.  There were some steps that I had to follow to get things working:
    1) on the iMac, confirm that the printer has the most current drivers.  I had relied on the Mac updates and while the driver printed fine on my Mac, it was a couple of service numbers behind what was available on the Canon site.  So make sure the drivers are current.
    2) On the PC, uninstall and re-boot.  Re-install.  Make sure the operation completes fully.  I think my error was in being impatient.
    3) Select the printer you want to use from the Bonjour software before calling the print job.  This may seem obvious, but the instructions don't speel this out as comprehensively as they might.  Following this step, then calling the printer, produced nice results.

  • Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

You're very welcome. See if the recovery manager still works so you can roll back to W8. Please read this guide for how to use it. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643 If it doesn't then you will have to order a set of recovery disks from HP, or you can install this plain W8 OEM software this guy has posted on a link. Lots of folks have used it successfully, which is why I posted it. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?pli=1 Then use this tool to make the iso file bootable to a DVD or 4+ GB USB flash drive. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool Yes, that really stinks why you and I could not upgrade without an issue. I disabled about 5 or 6 devices in the device manager and the code 12 would not go away. I have no clue why the PC works fine on W8 but not on W8.1. My notebook is a few years older than yours and it worked fine on W8.1 but not on W10. Go figure...

  • Driver for the ethernet controller on a HP Pavillion P600000 Series desktop after upgrading to Windows 7 Enterprise?

After upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Enterprise (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601), I cannot find working drivers for my ethernet controller. The desktop is a HP Pavillion, Model
No. p6710f. I located the drivers on HP's website, but Windows 7 Enterprise
is not listed as compatible. Compatibility list:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
The original driver (according to HP's site) is a Realtek PCIe Family networking controller, Version:7.26.902.2010 Rev. A.
    I tried contacting HP, but apparently I voided their warranty once I upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise. I do not have a support plan with Microsoft because the operating system was purchase through TechSoup (nonprofit). I greatly appreciate your help;
let me know if you need more information.

  • Connecting Time Capsule to a Windows 7 PC via Ethernet

    Hi,
I have the following network configuration:
    - Speedport (Deutsche Telekom AG) as DSL Router (I need that router for the IPTV)
    - Connected to this router are two laptops and the Time capsule (WLAN)
Everything is working fine. However, I try now for days to connect my Windows 7 PC via Ethernet to this network via the Time Capsule. Due to location it is not possible to connect the Windows 7 PC directly to DSL Router or to connect the Time Capsule by cable to the router.
I think I tried every possible configuariton but without any improvements. Does anyone have an Idea what I can do ???
Windows is always telling "no identified network" and it always shows a park bench
Hope anyone have an idea ! Thanx for your help

  • MacBook Pro (Wireless Internet) - ethernet - Windows XP (no wireless) ?

    Hello,
I have MacBook Pro with wireless internet that works just dandy.
I also have a cheap IBM ThinkPad running Windows XP. It's from the stone age, so it has no wireless internet card.
Ethernet cable successfully connects the two, and I can transfer files back and forth using smb://, no problem.
But I really want is to be able to get internet on Windows using connection from my MacBook Pro.
Is this possible? Can I do it in system preferences somewhere, or would I have to go buy a router or something?
EDIT: I'm a Web Developer, so I just want to be able to connect to see how HTML files look on IE. If there is a way to setup a localhost and plug IP into Windows XP, that'd be a good enough solution.
RE-EDIT: Just figured it out on my own :S
    Thanks,

    Hi Manu,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that the LAN and Wireless is not working as expected after updating to Windows 8.1, normally to avoid compatibility issue all the drivers should be updated when the computer is in Windows 8. Hence, I suggest you to perform “System Restore” and the follow the update procedure. Below is the link to perform “System Restore” then a link with exact Windows 8.1 upgrade procedure.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 refuses to be recognized by my Windows 7 via router, USB or Ethernet cable

This is a really strange problem. I owned a computer store for 20 years and I had never encountered a wierd problem such as this. It really has me scratching my head.
I purchased the HP wireless printer 3 days ago, replacing a Kodak all in one wireless printer that I used for 3 months.
I have been trying for the past 3 days, working up to 10 hours per day on it, trying to get my main tower computer with 32 bit Windows 7 to recognize the printer via the wireless router, the USB cable direct and Ethernet cable from the router to the printer with no success.
The tower is hard wired to a TP-Link router.
Strange as it is, my 2 laptops, one with Windows Xp and the other with Windows Vista, had no problem at all connecting, accepting, installing and printing out test sheets for me. Both notebooks installed as they should have.  However, my tower with 32 bit Windows 7  absolutely will not connect. There has to be something in the tower that is causing this problem.
I have tried to connect directly to the printer using an USB cable from my tower to the printer, it failed.
I have tried using an Ethernet cable plugged directly from the router to the printer, that failed also.
I have uninstalled the HP software 4 times, cleaned the registry and reinstalled the HP software with no different results.
I have booted up with minimum Microsoft files only, I have booted up in safe mode, I have booted up as Administrator - still the tower will not recognize the printer.
I have downloaded & installed the HP software as well as using the CD, the patch, the firmware upgrade and several other programs that HP offers, none has helped.
I have scanned and scanned the internet for possible solutions now for 3 days, nothing I have tried has worked yet.
I have removed my anti-virus software and shut off the firewall. It made no difference at all.
I manually added the HP printer on my tower via the control panel, it would not connect to the printer that way either.
I have restored my registry numerous times back to before any attempts to add the printer, that didn't help.
However, I can access the printer via my internet browser by typing in the printer's address  192.165.1.106
Believe it or not,  I can print a test page from there and I can also scan the test page. I just can't get my tower to recognize this printer.
This is really driving me buggy, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
I currently have an HP 1300 Laserjet on the network, non-wireless, and it works great with all computers via the router.
I have a 2nd tower currently having a mother board repaired, I would bet that it will work when I get it back.

    Thanks for your comments.
I tried a new Ethernet cable hard wired between the printer and the router. Since the computer is wired via an Ethernet cable to the router and the router is wired directly to the printer, one would think the computer would see the printer but it won't.
I also tried a brand new 10 foot USB cable between the computer and the printer, it failed and it wouldn't install the software either.
I am adding a 2nd hard drive next week and going dual boot, that should work on the new drive at least.
An associate, who is the best networking guy in town,  just left my house after trying for 2 hours to find a cure or the problem, he finally gave up. Like me, he thinks it may be something in the registry.
