Windows 8 Hot Corners and Edges not working.

All my hot corners and edges have stopped working since the windows 8.1 update. Not really affecting the pc performance but it was a useful feature I miss. Don't suppose anyone can help?
(checked the pc settings as well, and the features are enabled).

step 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\EdgeUI
step 2. Set both DisableTLCorner and DisableTRCorner to the data value of
0
step 3. exit and Restart computer
Try this option and everything is ok :)

Windows 8 keyboard and mouse not working

After a series of updates my computer booted up with no keyboard or mouse working, This includes both PS2 and USB and several restarts.
The computer works fine when booted with the windows 8 CD Mice and keyboards are working fine. I don't want to refresh my machine as I have will hours of program reloading to do. This is very frustrating!
I have been though all the other related topics on this forum, google and bing, noting works so far.
Any help would be appreciated.

How would I go about finding what drivers are being used when I boot from the windows dvd?
I'm not sure. WMIC? Look at Panther logs?
wmic.exe sysdriver | find /i "keyboard"
found some of the ones that msinfo32.exe lists.   So, in fact, if that works, I suppose you would start there: msinfo32.exe Components Input Keyboard. I know that wmic.exe works in Command-only mode
but I'm not sure about msinfo32.exe.
There are other possibilities too. E.g. use regedit.exe for its Load Hive command to compare registry values.
I wonder if mskey.exe can run in that limited boot? It apparently knows more about keyboards than msinfo32.  That's the diagnostic tool that comes with Microsoft keyboards in case you have it.  Looking at it makes
me think that registry settings may be more important than the driver module which may make the Load Hive idea a more promising tack to try.
BTW this looks very similar to something that happened after RTM. As I understand it, the install threw away all HID drivers, leaving it with none. I don't know how that problem was fixed ultimately. Maybe the people that saw it just gave
up on W8.   ; }

Hot corners for Expose not working

I think I may have hit a combination of keys that disabled my expose corners... is that possible? It was working fine until I started pressing buttons trying to get a ™ to type. Now it's just not working. It looks fine in Sys Prefs

Go to "edit" then "Special characters", finally "Miscellaneous" for ™ and other character types, short-cut is "optioncommandT" - default setting

Printer Software not Working for Windows 8.1 and Drivers not Working with USB 3.0

We have a HP CM1312 MFP. We recently got two new windows 8.1 machines. We tried downloading and installing the windows 8 64 bit software, but everytime we tried installing the software the software program would exit abruptly.
We then tried just downloading the printer drivers and installing these. They installed ok, but when we tried to connect the printer via USB it said the printer did not support USB 3.0 which are the only ports we have on the new computers.
Is there a solution to either of these problems? Without the software we cannot use the fax or scanner.

Windows 8: AAM and DreamWeaver not working

I am running Windows 8, and AAM Crashes on me during startup "Not Responding..." and Dreamweaver will not start. I have tried to uninstall, so I can try to do a reinstall but the Uninstaller Fails. Also tried to run the adobe cleaner but does not seem to do anything.
I am Adminitrator on my computer and have also been trying to run them as admin and in compatibility mode.

Are you using a bona fide release candidate of Win 8 or a beta release? I ask only because AFAIK Win 8 isn't supposed to be offered to the public until late Oct. 2012.
Beta releases often have serious bugs. Is there any chance that you can roll back to Win7?

Home sharing between windows 7 laptop and iPad not working

I have looked everywhere for an answer but haven't been able to come up with a solution yet.
So my problem is that I had to get my Samsung laptop (Win7) rebooted after a virus. Before doing so, I connected by iPad by USB to transfer my music. I couldn't use home sharing because my Win7 laptop was infected with a virus that wouldn't let me access the internet.
After the reboot, I connected home sharing to try and retrieve my music on my main computer.
I am very familiar with home sharing and have used it previously with other computers.
My iPad recognizes my laptop and I am able to access the library through my iPad; but on my laptop, the ipad doesn't show up on home sharing.
I cannot transfer back my music via USB either, it treats it like an iPod and won't let me put it back.
I have restarted EVERYTHING, restarted both devices, and relogged in - and no luck.
My laptop is my main computer and I'm dying to get my music back on it!
Does anyone have any solution to this problem?
Especially if I don't have to download something

Hot Corners and Keyboard Shortcuts Stop Working

When disconnecting from my 27" (that I use as a docking station with keyboard and mouse), in some cases my hot corners and keyboard shortcuts stop working.
F11 does not show the desktop, Ctl-UpArrow does not show mission control. Ctr-left-right arrow does work, as i can still toggle between desktops.
I know, lots of randomness here...
A reboot fixes everything.

I've go a Windows 7 system running CS5 and when I start Photoshop all my shortcuts are working but eventually really important ones like the brush tool sizing stop working. At the moment the only non-adobe/windows app running is iTunes and that have been running the whole time, turning iTunes off does not enable the stortcuts again.
Has the only conclusion to this problem been to turn off other apps? This has been a problem for me since I upgraded to CS5 and its driving me a little mental !

Just activate the Windows 8 OS via an internet connection, then install all optional, recommended and important drivers from Windows Update, reboot and it'll work.

Java applet works in windows and does not work in linux

Hello, guys!
I'm working with site which is located in vpn network at work.
I use browsers firefox 3 and opera.
When I want to open java applet using firefox or opera at first everything is fine then on the last stage of loading(judging by progress bar) applet hangs(progress bar hangs) and when I reload page firefox shows in the bottom bar: applet <applet's name> bail.
In windows everything works both in ie6 and firefox 3.
On both environments I have the jre 6 installed.
please help!

Ok, I installed ies4linux and jre 1.5.16. I can work with that but when I start applet screen goes black and window frames dissapear.
To solve this problem(feature?) I disabled DirectX-based acceleration for Java 2D but that works for javacpl.exe and does not work for my applet.
